I’ve been carrying this on my bookshelf for a while now and probably should’ve left it there. The book reads like it’s aimed at a middle-grade audience and I couldn’t relate to it. The world building felt fine in the beginning but it became strange as the story went by. The characters were absurd, lacking depth. I found the writing style grating. Read too many books with similar tropes to find this entertaining. This is my first time reading Sanderson’s fantasy and I had high expectations. The plot was dragged out a little too much and the resolution was left wanting. Did not love this one as much as the previous books but it was still good. I miss the initial books a lot. I miss the AI, the new monsters and the talk shows. It’s understandable considering the development of the plot. Can’t believe I’m saying this but the action went on for a little too long in the middle of the book.
