"I brought him because even though I could do this alone I could do everything alone I liked that I didn’t have to."

Camille got left at the altar so she escaped with her childhood best friend and lover, Dusty. This turn into a tentative friendship but buried feelings always comes up to the surface.

One word I will use to describe this book: Underwhelming.

Don't get me wrong, it was an easy and quick read for me. Just light, and fun.

I resonate with Camille among the other FMC, her love for routines, rules and check lists. But that's about it. I found her not that strong of a character but considering her family dynamic that was expected howeverrr girlie is a full adult now like girl stand the f up! There's this last plot twist on the book that she reacted like a child. I rolled my eyes so hard.

Dusty was sweet, but he felt superficial imo. He was just down bad for Camille. That's his whole personality.

I did love the addition of Ada and Wes because their story is kinda similar to this book where girl always run from her feelings. Lol.

Overall, this book is my third least favorite of the series. It's just very underwhelming and did not live up to its hype. ]]>

"Because there was nothing about them that made me feel like I'd prefer their company to my own. They didn't light me up in any way." "Maybe you should try to find someone that lights you up, then."

Ian's staying with his best friend together with his father, Henry, in their house while they both work in the family business. Sparks fly between Ian and Henry, and they enter into a forbidden relationship.

Sugar, spice (!!!!) and everything nice. Plus forbidden taboo love equals a good time.

I read this in one sitting in a coffee shop, and I cannot physically rein my emotions while reading this book.

I love me some forbidden romance, and quite frankly, I only read one book that got the best friend's dad trope, and goodness me, I love it.

Ian's sunshine-personified and he's so himself that anyone who doesn't like him can fck off (aka Henry, and which he did lol). Henry's the usual standoffish grumpy guy. I love them both, your honor.

Such a fun short read, wished it was long and there's more tension but I really enjoyed it. ]]>

"Taming this one might prove difficult, but tame her he would."

Cedar's village was torn apart by orcs and she was taken as a captive by the orc leader, Lord Kargorr. He is on the mission on destroying the humans and taking back what belongs to orc-kind.

It's my first time reading a monster dark romance.

Now, I don't usually read dark romance but I know Lyonne Riley writes well and she did it in this book. Let me tell you, the author took the time to write the scenes well considering there's a lot of triggering content. It was really handled with care.

"Strength was loyalty, and disobedience was weakness."

This cover really what caught my eye because it's gorgeous.

I love both main characters considering the circumstance they were in. I love Cedar, she's so strong-willed and have a good heart regardless of what happened to her. She got a tragic life and my heart just broke for her. Kargorr on the other hand was a brute, knows what he want for his people and get it.

It's hard to say but I am rooting for the orcs in this book lol.

Their journey was not easy, they started as rocky but over time, they built this romance together that's slow-burn which I appreciate because of their situation.

Overall, not the best book by Lyonne Riley but I am glad to read this dark romance book with orcs. ]]>

"Because if she wasn’t there, she wouldn’t exist."

The Thrashers, a high school clique, were all accused of bully!ng a classmate that she k!lled herself.

One of my highly anticipated book this year, because it's the first YA thriller written by Julie Soto.

This book gave off every YA thriller book out there, you think of it, you got it. I love it.

Now, I initially rated this book 4-stars after reading, but I slept on it and decided to give this a 3-star rating. I think I was just caught up with the little bit of romance sprinkled in this book.

Back to the topic.

I was not engaged with this book until 50%, which is not bad but I wished it picked up way more sooner. It got a slow start imo that I contemplated DNF-ing this book but I pushed through, which I am so glad for.

It was a fun time, a good read but predictable. I did not mind because I was just really enjoying reading the last 50% of the book. The subplot of romance was also great but I did not expect some paranormal aspects in this book, that got me.

“We have whatever’s left of forever, you and me.

Wren and Ellis Byrd fell in love as kids, had a kid and got married but then they got a divorce. Now, their son is off to college and Ellis wanted to reconnect with Wren so they embark on a road trip and try to rekindle their fire.

I love Tarah DeWitt, I have 1 book left to read from her published work then I am all caught up.

I have very mixed feelings with this book. I was deliberating what to rate this but I settled on my rating because I know I won't be thinking about this book after.

Let me start, I love that both characters are so layered and so complex that they both felt real. I am not married. I don't have kids. Why can I relate to the both of them? That's how good they were written.

Second chance romance is one of my least favorite trope in a romance book, but I trust Tarah to give me a good romance book which I did get in this.

Howeverrr, I was really frustrated with both of the characters on how they were assuming things left and right. A little bit childish but that's understandable because things were strained when they got divorced. I did appreciate that they also communicate with their intentions and how they handle things when they were trying to get back together.

This is so much better than the first book, though! I cannot wait for the next one! ]]>

“Happy doesn’t need to be the default. Happier could be nice for a change.

Taylor flew out in a location to plan his boss' daughter's birthday. However, he's instantly attracted to the manager of the place, Ethan, who is also his boss ex-husband. It did not stop them from exploring their attraction to one another.

Idk where I found this book, all I know that this caught my eye and I have been cravingg for a MM romance and this fits the bill.

I love both main characters but especially to Taylor because I resonate so much to him. His family dynamic was so endearing to see, that I just want to hug him because he deserves all the best this world got to offer. He stepped up to take care of his siblings, did not resent them but still thrives on helping other people which makes him so endearing and resilient. He's such a good person that I can see it through his actions.

Ethan on the hand, was also so cute. He's a complex character, managing his ADHD and juggling his business while missing his daughter. Hes describe as a grumpy bear and I can totally see that. He cares so much about Taylor.

I love how they were both adult in this book and it shows. They communicate with each other, take care of one another and they were such sweet characters, overall great.

“To me, peace isn’t a mural. It’s a mosaic. Things have to break before they can be rebuilt into something beautiful and serene again. ]]>

"I can’t even connect with myself. How am I supposed to connect with an alien lifeform?"

Ami woke up alone in a statis, and the only surviving crew in the middle of nowhere space with her ship in distress. However, she was rescued by another life form but not everything seems to be the way it looks.

"And I don’t want to go outside. But I’m all that’s left. I have to do it, or accept that I’ll die out here."

Okay, I've been craving for a good horror book and this kinda gave what I was looking for. I randomly found it in my KU reco and I knew this was it.

I read this in a perfect time, with the gloomy and rainy weather so it was pitch black so I was totally immersed in this.

I went into this blind, and boy, was I so glad. I really thought I was getting an alien romance in space, but I got so much more. Found out I love horror space novel.

Right off the bat, we were thrown right into it with Ami waking up. Everything felt like a fever dream, you don't know what's happening. I was so intrigued, and so curious on what really happened.

It's a short book, but honestly, it was good. However, I did read a similar premise to this so I was not exactly wow-ed by it but I still had a good time. Gave me the creeps, I had to turn on the light and read it.

I saw a review with this being, “Thrum asks the question: what if an entire spaceship was gaslighting you, which I totally agree!
