Second read through of this and I really do love it. Piranesi’s voice is just so charming that you are immediately pulled into his mind and perception of reality. I wish I was more interested in architecture so I could pick it apart more eloquently but the capitalization to emphasize the deification of architecture and nature really stood out to me this time around. You start to revere the House as much as Piranesi does. "psa: do not ever try to read a textbook in two days, even if you already have consumed the content in some form or another before in your life. it will absolutely ruin your brain capacity. i feel like i have died and been born anew with only a knowledge of vertebrate form and ecology and evolution to arm me in this strange world (but also i feel woefully unprepared for the exam which is in approximately 7 hours). pray for me
