Electricity and water are always present, food meagre but edible, questioning for years what is the purpose of it all. One day, the bunker opened and the women were out.

It's a jarring, timeless dystopia that strips humanity down to its core. The experience of being human persists through it all, with moments of hopefulness and hopelessness, wonder and curiosity, grief and frailty, the resilience and fragility that sit side by side.

So many questions persist, but maybe those aren't mean to be answered because who in humanity history has ever known it all?"

This book definitely made me more appreciative towards people around me who recommend me books that I actually enjoy reading. And it made realize that books in which the main character is an old person are my weakness 🥲
