Hello. Yes, he does. I’ll not give away any spoilers but the story is resolved. Book 8, I think, if my memory serves me correctly.

Hello. I’m pleased you’re enjoying my work. It’s not the end of the Matilda Darke series. I’ve just finished book 13 and I’m contracted up to number 15. More to come from me.

(view spoiler)[Hi Michael, I have just finished book 8 in the Matilda Darke series. This was an excellent read, & the characters are so real. I was surprised by the ending after reading book 7 where so many characters died. I was reminded of Game of Thrones. Really hoping that there will be more books as I would still like Karl's kidnappers to be found and the person that abused the victims' boyfriend. Will there be another book? (hide spoiler)]

Hello Tracy,
I’m pleased you’re enjoying the series. There is indeed a 9th book. It’s called The Lost Children and it is out in ebook on June 30 and paperback on July 7. It’s also the final appearance of Carl Meagan and his family as that story comes to an end. I’m contracted up to book 11 with 10 out later this year and 11 in the spring of 2023. Plenty more to come. I hope you enjoy them.
Take care,
Michael.

Hello.
I’m pleased you’re enjoying The Seventh Victim. I think Joanne Froggatt did an amazing job with the narration. She’s a superb actor. The book is a standalone, not part of a series. I do write a police crime series which is also available on Audible. It’s the DCI Matilda Darke series and the first book is called For Reasons Unknown.
Take care,
Michael.

Hello,
That’s ok. I prefer a physical book too. The Seventh Victim was commissioned by Audible as an exclusive for them and they have the exclusive rights for a year. That year is now up which means I’m free to look for a physical publisher. My agent is currently in talks about this. As soon as I have any information I will post it on my author Facebook page. I can’t remember the link but if you’re on there and want to follow me look up Michael Wood Books.

Which book are you referring to?
Michael Wood
You are correct. It’s my first standalone novel and currently only available in Audio (hopefully that will change next year). More standalones to come, too.
Michael Wood
Hello. It’s a long story and all to do with a change over in contracts, but I’ve been told 4 and 5 will be released in audio at some point next year. As soon as I know dates I’ll post it on my Facebook and Twitter pages. Cute dog, by the way.
Michael Wood
Hello. Thank you for your question. I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the series. I’m contracted up to book eight. Book seven should be released in the spring of 2021 and eight around the autumn. Fingers crossed they’ll be still more to come after that.
Michael Wood
I write the DCI Matilda Darke series of novels. Book six, Stolen Children, is out in October. I’ve also written a standalone called The Seventh Victim which is an exclusive audio novel. I’m hoping it will be published in paperback at some point next year. I’m currently planning a second standalone too.
Michael Wood
Hello. I’m afraid not, at the moment. I keep asking my publishers about future translations. I’ll post any information I get on social media. @MichaelHWood on Twitter if you’re on there.

Hello James,
I’m pleased you stumbled across my book and took a chance to read it. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy the other three. There is a prequel short story out called The Fallen and a second prequel called Pure Cruelty is out in December. Book 5, Overkill is published in January.
I would love a TV series of the books to be made. There is nothing on the horizon and I haven’t been approached by any TV producers, but I live in hope.

Hello. Very nice to hear from you. I'm afraid I don't have any details on translations at present. There is a German edition coming out early next year. I think we're going to see how it does there before moving into other territories.

Hello Abby,
Thank you for your question, and I'm pleased you're enjoying the series. Valerie has placed a lot of trust in Matilda and needs her to be a success in order for herself to look like a success to her boss. She does give her plenty of ultimatums but she knows, deep down, Matilda will always come through for her. I do have a plan for all my regular characters. No-one is safe.

Hello Andrea,
Firstly, sorry for the delay in answering your question. Secondly, thank you for reading my book. I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
I get a lot of my ideas from the news, and events that happen in and around Sheffield. I like my books to have a local feel to them as well as be enjoyable to people who don't know Sheffield.
I am a fan of true crime too and read different magazines and journals. I'm sure some of those find their way into my fiction.
Thanks for your question,
Michael.

Hello,
Thank you for your message. I'm pleased you're enjoying the series. The 4th Matilda Darke novel is currently getting the red pen treatment from my agent and I'm about a third way through the first draft of book five. Also, I had a great idea last week for book six. Fingers crossed, there will be plenty more Matilda novels to come.

Hello,
Yes I do have a short story out today called The Fallen and featuring DCI Matilda Darke. I'm not sure how to change this so it is under my name rather than another Michael Wood but I shall look into it. Thank you for letting me know. I hope you enjoy The Fallen and Merry Christmas.

I am currently editing my second novel which again features DCI Matilda Darke and her team at South Yorkshire Police and I am plotting the third.
