My website was actually being redesigned, so it was completely kaput (fixed now). Bad timing! As to Grace, I did consider it, but in the end, I decided that she didn't need to be picked at. I really liked her and didn't want to risk messing her up.

Wow...thank you so much!

Hey Sam...I answered your email with a link. Did you find it alright? Ann

Hi! So glad you liked them! There was a misprint of the date for the last book in the trilogy, but it will be out this year. I'm also tooling with a prequel - First Strike - that I'll probably give to my VIP list for free around the same time. I sure hope you like how their world goes in the last book! Ann

Probably not one set after the books, but there is a prequel called The Book of Sam, which shows what happened right from the beginning. Readers wrote and wanted more Sam. Savannah Slays (story of Savannah and Charlie right from the beginning) is coming soon too.
After the end of the epilogue, I like to think of them simply being happy, growing old, and being best friends until the end. I really do.

Hi Joyce! Strikers is exclusive with Amazon in digital format until after the third book comes out at least. Paperback only at other vendors for now. I do have my other completed series available at all other vendors, just not this one. Thank you for writing! Ann

I have a short inside Wool Gathering that is a prequel to the Silo 49 series, but most people read the Silo 49 series first. It works well that way. Thank you for reading!

It's there, just further back in the pages. Here is the link: /book/show/2...

Currently, I'm finishing up the draft of The Book of Sam, which is the first full length book in the Between Life and Death: Origins series. Reader demand!
I'm also still working on Strikers: The Eastlands, which is a big and complex book, so it takes time. According to my mail, I'm not working on that one fast enough!
As always, I'm working on stories that go into various anthologies. Really, I need two brains and four hands at this point. So much to write and only so many hours in a day. :)
I sure do hope you enjoy The In-Betweener! And thank you for your question! Ann

I certainly can write a study guide or discussion guide is people want it. Readers take different things from the books and it never fails that I hear something new when speaking with readers. That's one of the best things about writing, I think. :)

I started reading WOOL when it was still new and had the original covers, so I had time to think about it between episodes. While I was thinking about it while waiting, I kept wondering why all the people in power were so bad and why the good ones always got the dirt nap? I mean, evil triumphs (at least it did back then). Then I wondered: What would happen if just one person inside that had some power was good?
It all started from there. I asked Hugh if I could write it, he said yes, and the rest is history. :)

Séamus - Yes, I am working on Silo 49: Roughneck! It is entering the silo and before (as well as just after). It sort of helps to see how Silo 49 evolved in the way it did. Main character is Manny Rivera, a Filipino oil-platform worker who is hired by the WOOL project--along with many others--to create a new Strategic Oil Reserve in that area. I guess we'll all know how they managed to have so much oil underground in that part of Georgia!

Michael - So glad you enjoyed the first book of Silo 49! And yes, I'm currently working on the formatting for the other platforms as well as print.
Should be out quite soon and I'll make an announcement on my website () and on my newsletter (you can sign up for that on my website so you don't have to check back yourself). Thanks for the question! Ann

Never edit your own work. That's a serious answer there. People always tell me that they are "good editors" and that may very well be true, but being your own editor is like a surgeon deciding to do open heart surgery on themselves. It just doesn't work. We are too invested in our words and work to objectively edit it for readers. Of course, writers are terrible at taking advice so...

That I can work in my pajamas and eat chocolate donuts while I work if I want to. Well, if I wanted to. Seriously, it's that I can create a whole new world in my head, give it a past...maybe a future...and fill it with whatever I think needs to be there and then give it to others to read about. What a rush!

I've just finished Strikers, due out on July 16th, so I'm busy getting it ready for release. Formatters, binding size...all kinds of stuff has to be done. When I'm not frantically doing that, I'm working on a new series of shorts (though, for me, short tends to be about 75 pages) called "Good News, Gone Bad".
The first is called "Young Blood" and it's a dystopian imagining of a recent good news science story regarding the discovery of a compound called GDF11 in young blood that can turn back the clock in many ways for the old. Lots of stuff to imagine going wrong there!
