Thank you for the question. My mother would always make the statement that humility is a strength and not a weakness. My character was important to her and her teachings will resonate with me for my life and live on through others. It is with the foundation given by both parents that I have sought mentors and as my mother would teach me was to pay it forward and mentor others. In fact, she would state that I would learn more from those I have mentored than from my mentors. My insight comes from a lifetime of seeking to learn and not being surprised by whom I learned it. Humility has helped develop a servant's heart and why I preach and teach servant leadership. Watching and helping others develop has become my passion and there is nothing more satisfying than this experience. As one of my mother's lessons, life is not about me, but about others.

I pray and I sleep. This seems to be a good remedy. I get amazed when I have nothing to write, pray, sleep, and then I have so much to write. When I have it in my head I push myself to keep writing.

The best thing about being a writer is keeping your mind flowing and healthy. Certainly, there are challenges that arise, but with focus, things seem to work their way out. I enjoy being with my wife and having that ability.

The best advice is to keep pushing forward. Who we align ourselves with is important too. There are plenty of naysayers in this world. But to find mentors and an accountability partner that will provide support, honest feedback, and a kick in the tail when needed is invaluable.

I just published A Script For Aspiring Women Leaders: 5 Keys To Success, and I am working on the rollout to ensure that additional content and workbook are available for the readers' success. I do have other writing projects aligned. The next Children's book in my series, The Adventures of Park Ranger Brock Cliffhanger & His Jr. Park Rangers as I enjoy teaching children about the State and National Parks, safety and conservation, and about good role models. Most of all I enjoy it when children dream big.
