That hasn’t really happened to me yet. What has happened is that a book has been written and out on submission to a publisher or agent and while I’m waiting, I’ve started something else. Then I get edits, etc., and I find myself working on two projects at the same time. At this moment I’m working on three projects at once: Cross Waves (which I’m making developmental edits on), Healing Kiss (which I started working on while I was waiting for edits on Cross Waves and then had requests to submit the synopsis to a publisher), and Sweet Stuff, a contemporary, which I started working on while waiting for the publisher’s verdict on Healing Kiss!

I'm a fast writer, so for me writer's block doesn't stop my writing...it slows it down. I never quit writing or else I would never get a book written, especially when I have a deadline looming. When I'm not sure what to write next, it is usually because I haven't thought through the plot sufficiently. I may stop writing for 30 minutes to think about it. But I'll always come back to the manuscript right away and keep writing. That's the secret to finishing a book.

I am updating this answer yet again because everything changes in the writing world (eventually)! I am currently working on Healing Light (working title) the sequel to Healing Kiss, which I planned to have out in early June 2025. If you read, the first book, this is Hannah and Brian's story, which is shaping up to be quite an adventure! I also signed a contract with @harpethroadpress for my sweet romantic comedy, The Icing On The Cake, in which a no-nonsense woman must outwit a TV superhero to reclaim her family business before his Hollywood entourage swallows it whole. This book is expected to release in April 2026.

I live in Cleveland and spend a lot of time at Edgewater Park, collecting beach glass. It can be a solitary pursuit. That got me thinking, “What if someone watched me while I gathered glass and could read my mind…wouldn’t that be freaky?� And then I thought, “What if they fell in love with me after reading my mind, but I had no idea? What would happen?� You’ll need to read the book to find out:)
