Sarah MacLean Yes! I'm working on Duchess's story right now!
Sarah MacLean I'm not sure! I'm not finished with it, but I'm really hoping it will be in the world late 2025 or at the latest, early 2026!

Sarah MacLean Hi Charlie! You really can start with any series or book, even, though I recommend reading the individual series in order if you're up for it.

If you're in for the long haul, I recommend them in the order they're written, as that will give you the most seamless view of the universe. As for the stand-alones, I would read A Duke Worth Falling For before Hell's Belles, and The Bladesmith Queen (free, via my newsletter sign-up) between Heartbreaker and Knockout.

Thanks for asking!
Sarah MacLean Hell's Belles is an adult romance series and includes descriptions of violence, sexual situations and adult themes. Hopefully that helps!
Sarah MacLean Hi Katz! Yes! Duchess's book is next!
Sarah MacLean LOL!
Well, they also say never say never...but what I will say is...not right now, Pam. Maybe someday!
Sarah MacLean I honestly believe our best selves are the parts that triumph over our flaws, and I love heroes who have a *lot* of work to do!
Sarah MacLean Thanks for the question! The plan is for Sesily to get a novella sometime in Winter 2018!

Sarah MacLean Hi! I'm sorry that Bourne was trouble for you -- though I absolutely understand, because he was trouble for me, too! He's not heroic at the start of the book. The kidnapping isn't a good thing. It's not noble. He's willing to do anything to get what he wants, including ruin one of the only friends he's ever had. That was all essential to him being turned around.

As for the wedding night scene, Penny isn't out of her mind with drink; she's instead had enough to drink to lower her inhibitions to tell him the truth. To ask for what she wants. And she definitely wants. So much so that when he's back to his cold self the next morning, she's pretty devastated. Not because of the act, but because she is so changed by it and wants him to be, too. Which, of course, he is, but doesn't realize it for another 100 pages!

He's definitely the cruelest of all my heroes, which I think (hope!) makes his redemption that much more powerful. But he's definitely not for everyone!

Thanks for your question!
Sarah MacLean Yes! Chase's book is available now. It's Never Judge a Lady By Her Cover -- though I would recommend reading the series in order, if you can!
Sarah MacLean Hi Aly --
I'm working on the first book in the Bareknuckle Bastard series! Should be out late-Spring 2018!
Thank you for reading!
Sarah MacLean Hi! Thanks for your question! I actually don't cry when I write -- so I'm always interested when people say I made them cry! I'm so happy to hear that the books move you--that's always what I hope will happen...but you never know! :)
Thank you for reading!
Sarah MacLean Hi Romina --
Both Seline & Seleste were married in the time between Sophie's & Sera's books. You see reference to their love stories in A Scot in the Dark.
Thanks for reading!
Sarah
Sarah MacLean I'm sorry, Meidinah! Seleste & Seline's love stories happen in the background of The Rogue Not Taken and A Scot in the Dark.
Thanks for reading!
Sarah MacLean Hi Amy -- Sesily & Caleb are set to get a novella, sometime in the winter, I hope -- just as soon as I finish my next full length book (the first in the Bareknuckle Bastards series, starring Lady Felicity)!

Sarah MacLean Hi Mariah,
Thanks so much for reading and for your question!
I do research all the time -- watching movies & television, reading books, traveling, reading gossip columns, surfing the web. The truth is, I can come up with a story from pretty much anything, and it's a lot less difficult setting it down in the 1800s than you would think (technology aside).
But -- I couldn't write without the New York Public Library and an annual visit to the British Library. I could spend months in those collections reading newspapers and exploring letters and other things from the time periods in which I write. The library is the best place to begin any research on a time period -- nothing inspires like primary sources!

Sarah MacLean Hi Toral,
I think you'll be happy to hear that Seraphina gets her story on June 27th with The Day of the Duchess! She does deserve a happily ever after and she earns it.
As for Lavinia, I really struggled with her -- but she's strong and smart and the truth is that sometimes even strong and smart women end up in bad relationships. Her story did feel honest to me, though, and though I'd like to revisit her someday, the time, and the hero, would have to be right. Never say never!
Thank you for reading!
Take care, Sarah
