I fell in love with New Orleans when I read Interview with the Vampire. Julie Smith's Skip Langdon books sealed the deal. I finally wen to the amazing city in my mid-twenties and now I visit whenever I can.
Besides writing about my favorite city, I wanted to write a book where a character is looking for her past as well as her future. And to find a family. I think everyone wants a family, a sense of community.
