Hi Jovan - I like this question! My first two books, Den of Wolves and Nest of Vipers, were working with Tacitus's The Annals of Imperial Rome. My books were derived from the bits that Tacitus seemed to deliberately gloss over or ignore entirely - namely the stories of Imperial Rome's women, children and slave. So, what I did there was fill in the blanks, creating an alternative view of the very patriarchal history that Tacitus describes.
