Daemon Manx Well, as an indie author there is never a dull moment. Writing is only one of the many tasks that you must tackle when you are hoping to be noticed in the vast ocean of authors. There is always something to do, which helps if the creative juices ever happen to run a bit sluggish. I get stuck at points, but it is easy for me to switch gears, start editing something else, or work on another aspect of the business, like promotion, formatting, publishing, and of course networking. I actually find that I don't have enough time to dedicate to all of the ideas that are waiting to make it onto the page. I often toy with the idea of cloning myself in order to be a more efficient marketing, promoting, publishing, networking, prolific writer. Hey there's another story idea, a writer clones himself and the clone ends up royally destroying everything he is trying to accomplish. Don't steal it...that's a good one.
Daemon Manx Actually, the great mystery that had perplexed me for many years is the source of inspiration for my soon to be released novelette, Piece by Piece. It involves a young boy and a Ouija board and a strange prophecy. I can't say too much about it just yet, but please do stay tuned for information about this upcoming release.
Daemon Manx I have just finished a couple stories that will be included in anthologies from Terror Tract Pub. I have another one that I need to brainstorm about and am mulling over a few possible ideas. For the past two months I have been redrafting a rather large body of work that is quite expansive. I will say that if it were to be released in one novel it would be difficult to pick up. That being said, I have another novella on the burner which is going through final edits, which should be my next work to hit the press, and I hope to release a compilation of short stories some time next year.
Daemon Manx I have just finished The Legion Machine by James G Carlson and am about to dive into Beast of Sorrows by James Watts. Then on deck are Nana by Mark Towse, Highway Twenty by Michael J. Moore, All Souls' Night by Hugh Walpole, and The Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood. Honestly, my list is growing faster than I can read them all.
Daemon Manx The inspiration for Abigail came from my own life experiences and observations. Certainly, we have all felt different, maybe a bit awkward, and that we don't fit in. The world we live in can be a cruel place, filled with intolerant, oftentimes ignorant people. I have witnessed just how unaccepting some people can be toward those that are different, whether it be about race, beliefs or sexual identity. The idea of total acceptance and unconditional love is a prevailing thread in Abigail and part of the message that I want readers to walk away with when they finish the book. Like I have said in the past, strange things come in small packages.
