For Taurus, I had made notes a few years ago when I created the Bible for the series that I wanted the story to revolve around a movie crew that comes to town along with Dorothy's favourite actor.
However, I've now changed it to a TV show like American Horror Story comes to town along with one of its actors who played a serial killer and other roles on the show and who Dorothy has a fangirl crush on.
As with all the books, there's magic, murder, witchy stuff, and romance.
I changed it because I really enjoyed Freak Show's Dandy, played by Finn Wittrock. And though I didn't like Wittrock's Tristan or Valentino as much as Dandy, I still think he's a great actor and of course, easy on the eyes. So, as part of the fun of being a writer, I will have Dorothy meet her favourite actor when the show comes to town. Will they fall in love? You'll have to read the book to find out.

My brain is always bursting with ideas and stories. I used to carry pen and paper everywhere to jot them down. I'll never get all the books finished that I have started!
I go to my desk every day in the morning except if I have a sporadic day job shift or kid thing to do. As long as I have a good cup of coffee, I'm ready to start my day. I used to dive right into writing. Now, I tend to poke around social media and do all my posts for a couple of hours and then get to work.

I'm working on the Witch Upon a Star series. Currently, I'm working on the Taurus book.
I'm also writing a science fiction book on Patreon. This is a platform where readers can interact with writers while the writer works on a book.

Read.
Write.
Re-write.
Go to conventions and meet people. Don't be afraid to approach people at conventions, everyone is there for the same reason. To meet other writers, editors, agents, and publishers. Most people are friendly and want to meet you too.
Everyone starts at the beginning. Everyone. So don't get frustrated.
Thick skin.

Doing what I love to do. I like being able to make my own schedule which was great while child-rearing. The control freak part of me enjoys creating worlds and seeing what characters will do to each other. I enjoy meeting people who have read my work. I like speaking on panels and giving advice.

I never really believed in writer's block. I believe that procrastination is often perceived as writer's block. It helps to have several projects going at once. That way, if you get stuck, bored, or agitated by one project, you can take a jab at another. That's my main way of dealing with it. That and pay checks! If I don't write, I don't get paid.
Don't forget that social media is a form of writing. So if you're still posting blogs and thoughtful ideas on FB and so on, you are still writing. I often think that social media has distracted me greatly from my actual writing books work writing. I don't think, I know! But it's also a necessary evil these days. Limit your social media time if you find yourself going down the rabbit hole.
If you think you're suffering writer's block, don't despair. Sometimes you need to take a break to let the well refill. Thinking about stories and characters is still part of the writing process. So is research.
Jot ideas down in a notebook or in a computer program. Sometimes the act of note taking will turn into more writing.
Give yourself a deadline. Be firm but not unreasonable. Life happens.
Set goals such as trying to get into a specific anthology. That will have a deadline you must follow so there's no time for writer's block.
There are several types of writers. If you're a full time writer, you don't have time for writer's block. There are bills to pay. You must push through it somehow. Money is a good carrot.
