Music. Music is my cure for writer's block. I have a TON of playlists on Spotify, which I absolutely love, and I choose a playlist with music that is fitting for the mood I'm trying to set in the current scene. I also have a long playlist for each book in the Blood And Guitars series. Some of the songs on those playlists inspired certain scenes, while others just seem to act as a soundtrack to that particular book.
Writer's block is sometimes indicative that whatever scene I'm struggling with needs to be chopped all together, or simply approached in a new way. Sometimes overcoming it is as simple as changing with point-of-view character the reader is experiencing the scene through. No matter the reason, a good set of songs will set the stage and the mood and help me to attack the writer's block head on.
