Monica McInerney Hello from Dublin, Alita_Nicole, and thanks very much for your message. I'm so glad my Guardian article struck those chords with you. There are so many wonderful things about moving to a new country, but homesickness does stowaway in our luggage sometimes, doesn't it? I hope you are settling in to Australia beautifully, and that reading brings you back home when you need it to, as it does me. And if you do get to read my novels, I hope you will enjoy those too!
Warmest wishes and thanks for getting in touch,
Monica
Monica McInerney Hello Jo and thanks very much for your lovely message. I'm delighted you read and enjoyed Hello from the Gillespies, thanks for taking the time to let me know. (I have to confess Ig was my favourite character too :) ) I don't have plans for a sequel just yet, but I also often wonder what might have become of them all, especially Lindy, so it may well happen in the future. I hope you will enjoy my other books too (my new one, The Trip of a Lifetime, will be published in Australia & NZ in July, in Ireland in August and in the UK in 2018.)
All very best wishes for now and thanks again,
Monica
Monica McInerney It's my pleasure, Michelle, thanks for getting in touch. My new book isn't far away now, I'm happy to say. It's a bit soon to share details, but I'll post up information about it on my Facebook page and website as soon as I can. I hope you'll enjoy that one too when the time comes :)
All best wishes for now,
Monica
Monica McInerney Hello from Dublin, Michelle, and thanks for your message. I'm delighted to hear you have recently been reading and enjoying my books, thank you very much. Thanks too for wanting to read the other titles you mention, I'm sorry they've been tricky to find. Sweet Charity is a short story in my collection, All Together Now. Here is a link to it:
(Sweet Charity was also published in the US as an e-story, but only ever available in that format there.)

The Christmas Gift was an e-book of two short stories produced only for a limited time in 2013 (as a Christmas gift from me and my publishers Penguin to thank my readers.) It's not available any more, but one of the two short stories in it - The Holiday - is available on-line on the UK Express newspaper's website, the link below.

Happy reading and thanks again for taking the time to get in touch.

With all best wishes,

Monica

Monica McInerney Dear Trish,
Warm greetings from sunny Dublin and thanks so much for your lovely message. I'm delighted you enjoyed Hello from the Gillespies and The House of Memories, and I hope you will enjoy my other (nine) novels too! I'm working on my twelfth novel at the moment (and have ideas for my thirteenth already), so I promise there will be plenty of books to come. I hope you'll enjoy all of them in the future too.
Thanks for taking the time to write, I'm so glad to hear my stories and characters have stayed with you.
All best wishes and happy reading,
Monica
Monica McInerney Hello from Dublin to Malaysia, Anisah and thank you for your message. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed The House of Memories and I hope you enjoy my other books too. I am also a big fan of Maeve Binchy and Rosamunde Pilcher. (Light a Penny Candle and The Shellseekers are two of my favourite books.)
I am more of a cat person, though I do love dogs too. (And all animals. If I wasn't a writer, my dream job would be to work in a zoo.)
All best wishes and happy reading,
Monica
Monica McInerney Hello from Dublin, Rosemary, and thanks very much for reading Hello from the Gillespies, I'm so pleased too that you have discovered my writings! Most of my other 11 books are stand alone so can be read as you find them. 4 of my books are linked: Upside Down Inside Out and the sequel Spin the Bottle (called Greetings from Somewhere Else in the USA); The Alphabet Sisters and the sequel Lola's Secret. Of all my books, I do have a soft spot for The Alphabet Sisters, my fourth novel. It is set in my home town of Clare in South Australia, and features one of my favourite characters, an elderly Irishwoman called Lola Quinlan. Happy reading, I hope you enjoy my other stories too and thank you again for getting in touch,
Monica
Monica McInerney Hello Sofie, thanks very much for your message. My new book is called Hello from the Gillespies, and will be published in Australia and New Zealand in early October, and in the UK, Ireland and the USA in early November. I hope you enjoy it!
Monica
