C. De Melo I live in Florence, Italy and travel frequently to other EU nations. I am always inspired by the art, architecture, culture, etc. Sometimes, stories literally pop into my head and flow like music.
C. De Melo WRITE what you love to read. Detach yourself from the work- meaning: when you get a critique, accept it as objectively as possible rather than taking it personally. Use negative feedback to improve your product.
C. De Melo Sharing my passion of history and culture doing what I do best- storytelling. I love it.
C. De Melo LONG WALKS. Also, staying away from the work for a few days while engaging in other things. Inspiration will eventually come.
C. De Melo That's a difficult question. I'm a fan of Anne Rice, so Lestat and Jesse. Also like Diana Gabaldon's Outlander, so Jamie and Claire. Finally, I love Victor and Veronica from my own novel, THE WATCHERS. Their loves spans centuries...
C. De Melo My readers have sent fan mail throughout the years, and I have received many requests for a sequel to SABINA. I think it's a great idea. I'm currently in the process of gathering research and writing down notes. The story will take place in 16th c. Florence, Italy (and that's all I will say for now).
C. De Melo I recently spent 6 months in Lyon, France and that is what inspired my latest historical fiction/paranormal novel (The Duchess de Nuit: A Vampire Tale of Lust and Blood). I was charmed by the history and beauty of the city, and decided it was the perfect birthplace for my female protagonist, Angelique.
