Winning the Heiress' Heart (Book 3 in The Emerald Quest) is the third of a four book series. Set in 1960 Hawaii, I had to fit within the framework of the other books as well as move the quest forward.
However, I was inspired by movies and books about Hawaii to capture something of the gorgeous landscape and spirit of new beginnings. Hawaii had just become the 50th state of the USA, Eva Abbott left England and all that is familiar to buy a pineapple plantation, and she finds a new and fragile relationship with her neighbour, Luc Martineau. I have to say, research was so much fun for this book! Condoms, pineapples, men in tuxedos, swimsuits and ball gowns of 1960 era - who wouldn't enjoy it!

A change of scenery such as moving to the verandah usually motivates me. Otherwise, I leave my writing and do some housework and suddenly the ideas flow. The threat of more cleaning is a wonderful motivator!
