In my experience, writer's block comes when the spine of the story is broken. Find where things have gone wonky and fix it. Sometimes this means trashing paragraphs, chapters or even a whole plotline to fix the story. You do what you have to do. Story is the most important thing. Everything else is ego and flotsam.

A few years ago, I ran across an article about Appalachian death rituals and a weird little thing called a Crown of Feathers. The lore says that if you find a ball of white feathers underneath the pillow of sick person, they are fated to die. It tingled all the writer bells. What if someone stole the crown of feathers?
