Several years ago, my husband and I interrupted a burglar in our house. My husband gave chase. The thief pulled a gun, aimed it at my husband's head, and threatened to kill him. A few weeks after that, Sandy Hook happened.
This personal event followed by this national tragedy gave rise to One Gun. I wanted to write something that addressed gun violence BUT I wanted it to be fiction, a novel, not preachy.
Because my husband chased our burglar, he was apprehended but not until after he'd ditched the weapon.
“What happened to that gun?"
That question took up residence in my brain. Providing a fictional answer to the question became the driving force for One Gun.

I completed my series with Black Beans & Venom, so my WIP is CRAZE, a stand-alone literary crime novel: An interrupted burglary. A tossed handgun. The craze that splinters from the crime.
I have a 61,000-word first draft that should grow during the rewrite.
