How come Late to the Party isn't available on Kindle in the UK, when the other books are?
Kelly Quindlen I don't quite understand how Amazon works outside of the US, but I've heard from other readers that you can try changing *your* Amazon marketplace settings to USA, and that may allow you to download LTTP on Kindle.

Hi! I really enjoyed your book, Her Name in the Sky for the third time now, and I also noticed you also have a lot of LGBTQ written stories! I had a few short stories that I've been working on, and I was wondering, what inspired you to start writing your own? :>
Kelly Quindlen I started writing my own LGBTQ stories to fill in the gaps of stories I wasn't seeing yet. I couldn't *not* write them :)

Hi! I like how you give your side/minor characters depth and good backstories interwoven with the protagonists. It makes for a more complete 'world'. How much time do you devote to side characters vs the main characters and which takes longer to fully flush out?
Kelly Quindlen Main characters take more time and attention, but I try to give side characters their own backstories, birthdays, family life, etc. It's important for the writer to know more about each character than they let on.

Hello, I am a 46 year old Catholic and have struggled with our churches acceptance of the LGBTQ community for years. It's monumentally vital you know...reading your book healed me. Until I read it I felt lost, broken, and adrift in an unfriendly sea. You knitted the thin pieces of my torn and tattered soul together and created a person who is now spiritually whole. What if I said thank you feels woefully inadequate?

Hi, I'm from Louisiana too, but that is not what my question is about the characters of her name in the sky. I was wondering if any of them were poc's in the novel? You didn't describe them as any one race and I know it is up to interpretation, but I think it is important for authors themselves to clarify. Anyway I am hopeful for your answer.

Yes, Baker is half-Lebanese through her mother's side; her dad is white. The others are white - mostly German-Scotch-Irish, with Clay and Luke having Cajun heritage.

Hello Kelly. I have read both of your books and they are AMAZING. I seriously can't wait until you release another one. How long does it usually take you to finish writing a book?
Kelly Quindlen Hey T.j, thanks so much! I'm stoked to release the next one (should be making an announcement soon). To answer your question: each book takes me 2-3 years to finish. It's a looong process.

Kelly Quindlen Of all time, probably George and Mary from It's a Wonderful Life. Most recently - Clarke and Lexa from The 100.

Absolutely loved your book. It was different--it didn't seem to focus more on the sexual aspect as opposed to everything but that. It was a great, sweet read and if not now, but in the future, please, write a sequel with these characters. They were all great, and written with heart. The only question I have is, when can I expect more of your work?

I'm currently working on another young adult novel featuring LGBT characters. Trying to have the full draft done by the end of 2016. In the meantime, have you read my Wattpad novel, A Different Kind of Us?

Absolutely loved this book. Want to share with a friend, but they prefer audio books (dyslexia). Is there, or will there be, an audio book version available?
Kelly Quindlen Hi D., thanks for your question. I've only briefly looked into the process of creating an audio book version, but now may not be the right time. As an indie author I'm always trying to figure out how to direct my energies--marketing? Replying to reader e-mails? Enhancing the current version of the book? Writing new stuff?--and I think writing new stuff is the most important thing, so that's what I'm trying to do right now. Sometime in the future I would definitely like to get rolling with an HNITS audio book--not only because it would be so cool, but because it would make the story more available to people with different reading needs, like your friend. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your support.

Yes, I have considered a sequel, and it would likely be more feel-good than its predecessor :), but I have no plans to write it anytime in the near future. I'm working on some other stories and would need time to sit with the idea for a sequel.

Kelly Quindlen Two different projects: one about a group of high school friends, the other about two 20-something women. Recently, I've spent more time working on the latter.
