MY DEBUT NOVEL, Making Friends with Alice Dyson: An Introduction.

Picture I've been shouting it from the rooftops, so it's possible everybody already knows that my debut YA novel, Making Friends with Alice Dyson, is due to be released in March 2019.

Behind the scenes a lot has been going into the making of this novel, from rough manuscript to, very soon, actual published book! The whole thing has been such a strange but amazing experience.

JOURNAL OF A DEBUT AUTHOR - CHAPTER TWO: Receiving an actual contract! Um... what do I do with this?

Well, sign it obviously.
Except nothing is ever quite as straightforward as that.

My very first thoughts after being offered a contract wasÌýmfmfmghuiewhieuwfjghb!!!!!

I was pretty excited.

And basically couldn’t hold a normal conversation with the nice people at Wakefield Press who were offering me a contract. (I spent a lot of that meeting with my head on their desk sort of freaking out happily. They are super nice so didn’t judge me.)
