Verse Novel ‘The Foal in the Wire to be published by Hachette Australia

I have some big news I never thought I’d be sharing.

My first verse novel, The Foal in the Wire, will be published by Hachette Australia in 2025.

This story is extremely close to my heart and I am so excited for people to read this book. I feel like it’s the book I’d been waiting all my life to write.

Poetry has saved me so many times and I hope this book might help to save someone else.

I’m especially grateful to Jeanne Ryckmans and Belinda Bolliger at Key People for all of thei...

Haiku Poetry Day 2024

To celebrate Haiku Poetry Day 2024, I wanted to share a favourite haiku by the master himself, Basho. As with World Poetry Day, I will endeavour to do this every year going forward.

Even that old horse
is something to see this

World Poetry Day 2024

Every day is poetry day, but to celebrate UNESCO World Poetry Day (21 March) for 2024, I thought I would share a favourite poem of mine, and will try to do this every year going forward. Today we have “You by the great “swamprat Rimbaud himself, Frank Stanford.

You

Sometimes in our sleep we touch
The body of another woman
And we wake up
And we know the first nights
With summer visitors
In the three storied house of our childhood.
Whatever we remember,

Review of “Ghost Poetry in The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald

I feel like I’m dreaming. There is an amazing review of “Ghost Poetry in The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald today by Candida Baker.
I feel so grateful to Upswell and Terri-ann White for everything. And to Jeanne Ryckmans and Michele Seminara, especially, for always supporting me and my work.

I feel so lucky to have survived and to be here to see this.

The review can be re...
