I am also reading

I'm currently making my way through Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun after feeling lukewarm about the first book when I read it years ago. It definitely helps to have a reading partner, and to have some external resources. I'm enjoying it way, way more this time. Highly recommend the podcast Alzabo Soup for anyone making their way through this series, either for the first time or doing a re-read. They've done a couple other Gene Wolfe books, too.

I’ve just read the sample of Avanti Chronicles: Bray’s Balance by Hannah Walker and will read the rest as soon as I purchase it. The Avanti Chronicles, FYI, are LGBT (m/m).

I hope to also get around to finishing Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

Great series, too bad the author can't get off twitter long enough to even update his web page let alone write the next book.

I can't wait to read this one! Already on my want-to-read list. Sounds amazing.

My husband is part way through this one. We love Scalzi!

I want to recommend my favorites from the last couple of years:
The Passage trilogy by Justin Cronin -- unlike many trilogies I've started, this one kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end (and afraid to walk under trees or go out in my backyard after dark).
11/22/63 by Stephen King -- phenomenal time-travel story, I couldn't stop thinking about it.
The Three-Body Problem (Remembrance of Earth’s Past #1) by Cixin Liu -- translated from Chinese, takes place during the Chinese cultural revolution and involves 1st contact with aliens. Really a highly creative masterpiece. I haven't read the follow on books yet.
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro - this story is is weird and trippy, but Ishiguro never disappoints
I also loved both Ready Player One and Armada by Ernest Cline. I thought they did a great job on the movie of Ready Player One.

I just finished reading her most recent series, Annals of the Western Shore.

So sad there will be no new writings from Le Guin. I will miss the gift of her powerful voice.

Howl's Moving Castle is just one of her many fantastic books.

@Everyone: read the "Divine Cities" trilogy, starting with "City of Stairs". You won't regret it. :-)

I'm halfway through Illuminae
It's ok but i'm not sure if i'll pick up the next in the series ~ undecided.
