Okay. to start. I'm team Jaxon all the way and my opinion of the series will plummet if they don't end up together. So here is my theory:
In case I forgot to mention it, I love Jaxon and think he and Bryn would be an awesome couple. This is because with them, we got to see their relationship develop slowly since book 1 and I’ve loved watching them slowly grow to respect and, while they’d both loathe to admit it and probably don't realize it, even like each other. With Zavien, as soon as she knew who he was she was mooning over him. And with Valmont, they're relationship doesn't really change much. They meet, like each other, he is protective of her and she depends on him in times of stress. They spend more time together, fall in love (Or so it seems. Here's to hoping its not real.) and the he's still protective and she's still dependent. No real change. She and Jaxon on the other hand... in the first book, he completely hates her, and she finds him annoying with some strong dislike mixed in. Now, their conversations are mostly civil, and their arguments seem almost like flirting, at least on his part, which Valmont notes at one point.

As for how they could end up together when they are both currently in relationships... I think Rhianna and Garrett would actually be a good couple. It seems like Garrett has a crush on her and she likes him, and they both have their injuries in common which Jaxon can't truly understand. Also, at times there is a clear strain on their relationship from his possessiveness clashing with the independence that she has been slowly cultivating when she used to be very dependent. Plus, maybe the strain of the events of the end of Trial by Fire will finally push them apart.

For Bryn she needs to decide that what she feels for Valmont is more like family than anything romantic, because most of the feelings she described for him could be more like that. Wanting him around, worrying about his feelings... that is something you do in a family, not just a romance.

Then the two of them will finally notice that the raging tension between them is actually attraction. That is when Bryn and Jaxon will realize, to their shared horror and chagrin, that Lilith and Marie were actually right and that they want to be together with or without the Directorate’s rules. That will be important because in the end of the series, the arranged marriages will probably be stopped, and so when people say to them congrats on not having to get married, they'll have to tell everyone that maybe, just this once, the idiot directorate got something right. (or Jaxon will internally cringe while Bryn insults the directorate. Lol.)(less)
Chris Cannon I'm still writing it. I'll try to type faster. :)…m´Ç°ù±ðI'm still writing it. I'll try to type faster. :)(less)
