This is a sweet and heartwarming story yet one filled with human angst. This is Quinn and Priscilla's story, and the character development is excellent. Priscilla heads West to become Quinn's MOB but is more readily accepted by Quinn's family than by him. Unbeknownst to any of the family Quinn suffers from nightmares as the result of a secret he harbors that he fears if disclosed will result in the family sending him away. Priscilla is bound and determined that she and Quinn are going to have a happy marriage. What will happen when danger threatens Quinn's family, as well as Priscilla? Will Quinn be able to protect all of them? Will he reveal his secret to Priscilla and, if so, how will she accept it? Is a HEA in their future? Be sure and read this outstanding story to find out. It is a real page turner; and I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Such a good story for Quinn and Priscilla. Quinn has demons he doesn’t want to share so he spends his nights drowning them at the saloon. The last thing he wants is a bride. His family doesn’t agree. Priscilla has only one reason to stay in Boston but that would only bring hardship to both so she accepts an offer to be a bride for Quinn but will he accept her when she arrives?
Quinn was a bad boy who needed to settle down. So his brothers and sisters-in law decided he needed to be married. He was angry Priscilla had no idea what kind of man she was about to meet and then marry. She was pleasantly pleased to see Quinn was very handsome and rugged. But she had no idea about the demons he battled.
Okay, I’m still trying to wrap my mind around a 12 year old boy going to war. War then was up close and personal, not far off. They truly meant when you can see the white in their eyes. No wonder Quinn was messed up. He’d seen and done things no child should. I’m so glad that Priscilla had practice with patience and I’m also glad she knows when to end it. This book was a great addition to the series.
Another great book in this wonderful series about the McRae brothers and some other towns people.Gentry and a Craig get a message from their youngest brother Quinn who they haven’t heard from in 15 years. He’s on his way to their ranch.Quinn has nightmares about something horrible that happened during the war and tries to drink himself to sleep every night. The family decides he needs a wife so they decide to order him a mail order bride.
Quinn and the Mail Order Bride ( Texas Hill Country Mail Order Brides
Quinn is a much more complex character, then Gentry and the little I read about Craig ( in Henry's book). The secret burden he is carrying, the nightmares and the surprise bride are only some of the things he is dealing with at his brother's ranch. Don't miss this excellent book. Caroline does it again.
Caroline Clemmons writes the most wonderful stories and I get pulled into them very quickly. I love her strong characters, the importance of family, along with all the angst and adventure before arriving at their HEA. It was nice seeing favorite characters from the past books and meeting new ones here. Looking forward to the next one. JudyE
Quinn and Priscilla's story is wonderfully touching. Quinn has much to heal from after being a young boy of only 12 years while fighting in the Civil War. Together, he and Priscilla work to overcome hurt and have a happy marriage.
Finding his brothers through a newspaper article brought joy to Quinn but being presented with a mail order bride to settle him did not set well. Well written and comprehensive back story.
The books in this series are out of order on Amazon. This book was very confusing to me because it's written as a continuation of Gentry. If you read Gentry first it should make more sense.
Thank you for this heartwarming and heartwrenching love story of Quinn and Priscilla. I found the camaraderie between the McRae brothers and their wives and other family members like Annie and Johnny very endearing. A lot of emotion was shown.
I enjoyed the book! Quinn carried a secret that he thought would make his family hate him. Priscilla was determined to make him realize he is a good man. There was some drama involving a bully and a card shark. I recommend reading this book!
