Liked this one much better than volume 2. Maybe it's because by now the five girls all know each other so well (and Kakifly has full command of his characters), but all of the interactions between the band members seem completely natural and effortless at this point, and it leads to some genuinely laugh out loud funny scenes. It's fitting that Ritsu gets the cover of this volume - this installment is the manga finding its rhythm.

Really love the anime, I didn¡¯t like the manga nearly as much probably because this manga style annoys me(¡°4-Koma¡± I think it¡¯s called)?????

If you like the previous two volumes of K-ON!, it's a pretty safe bet that you'll like the third. A bit more of a focus on the actual school side of things, and more of a spotlight on characters that are likely to join the club once the older members leave for university.

Nothing much to say about this. It's just as entertaining as the anime.

The girls' personalities seem to be shining through in this volume. Some I like, others I don't. Mio, for example... she was so cute and sweet the first two volumes...all shy... but now it seems like she's ALWAYS yelling at someone. I don't really like it. I know it's supposed to be a contrast - she's like this around people she doesn't know well but once you get to know her she's different...but I don't like the differences. Ritsu, on the other hand, I love her sassy attitude. She reminds me a bit of me... kind of up front and says whatever she wants. She's been really fun to read.

This was seriously the greatest part of the volume! I was rolling everywhere! (and for those of you who speak Japanese and know a lot about Japan, the translator wrote this in the back for why he chose to translate the Kyoto dialect so before you start spazzing, this is why: "There's no way to translate the differences in dialects of Japanese into English except by exploiting dialect differences in English to give some of the flavor of what's going on. The Kyoto dialect (and the dialect of the Kansai region in general) tends to be perceived in Japan as harsher in tone and also more colorful in expression than standard Japanese, so I've opted for a super-urbanized New York dialect as a fairly close match in feel.")

*note: This manga reads down in columns. So you start with the column on the right and read it down then move to the left column and read it down.)

Cute, rich, proper little Mugi at the bottom!! XD So hilarious!!!

If you're looking for a light-hearted read after a long, hard day, you really can't look further than K-On!

To put it simply, it's a bit of a 'fluff' tale about a group of girls who make up the pop music club at school, and their misadventures together. The eclectic bunch, made up of Yui Hirasawa on guitar, Mio Akiyama on bass, Ritsu Tainaka on drums and Tsumugi Kotobuki on keyboard, the girls are seemingly more interested in drinking tea and eating cake, than they are rehearsing, or doing anything remotely music related. Though, when push comes to shove, their love for one another and the fun they have always pulls them over the finish line.

Lacking much of a storyline, and with almost no plot whatsoever, K-on! is definitely not going to be the sort of manga that keeps you on the edge of your seat; but it's such a refreshing break from the typical manga-drama, that you can't help but adore it and all of it's characters. Definitely a must for any music lover, with scattered pieces of technical advice throughout, it's nice to be able to relate with what the girls go through as they master their instruments. On a personal note, even my boyfriend, an avid drummer, really enjoyed this, because of the accuracy and precision with which the music is slipped in.

There are moments when you feel like you're reading the same thing you did in the last chapter, and wonder if anything different is going to happen, but with moments that genuinely make you chuckle, and causes you to smile the whole way through it, there's no way that you couldn't like K-On

Okay. Funny thing about my copy of this book. I got it from the library back in the summer of 2012 and after reading it, I lost it in the bottomless pit of my couch. For three years, I thought my friend that I had a sleepover with the night I lost it had stolen the book or accidentally taken it with her for some reason. However, a couple weeks ago, while having to lift the couch and root around inside of it, past the springs and all that for my boyfriend's phone (which had fallen inside of the couch. He did half or a bit more than most of the work lifting the couch and digging things out of it) we found a ton of stuff inside the couch, which I didn't even know had a bottomless pit. We even found a HAIR BRUSH in the couch! But sadly, I had to pay $11.99 for this book in September of 2012 and after a year has passed since a patron paid for a lost book on their account, it's theirs to keep forever, or whatever they wish to do with it.
But anyway, I should get to the point of this manga.
It's funny, lighthearted and cute. It reminds me quite a bit of Lucky Star, except K-On! focuses more on music and high school whereas Lucky Star focuses more on anime, manga and high school. Yui used to be my favorite but I swear Tsumugi is "best girl". Her eyebrows though... They're takuan slices! (Also known as pickled daikon radish slices.)
All of these girls are so cute and funny. They don't appeal to as much as they used to, but they never really appealed to me all that much to begin with. They're great to watch them do their shenanigans when you're feeling down in the dumps though.

This one took me a long time to read (I like to read them pretty slow since this series goes by so fast) I think my fave panel though was when Mio & Ritsu tell the story of how they became friends, it was so precious!!

The girls last year in school and a new member joins the pop music club on guitar. With no other new members joining will the club have to disband when everyone graduates?

Excellent 4koma about being in a band. (It's a little moe, yeah, but what comes out of Japan these days that isn't?)

I liked this one a lot better than the previous volume. It seems like their characters grow more. Also, a lot more happens in general. Still cute and loveable.

Everytime I get to a point where I've reached it in the anime, I start to think if I should just re-watch the entire thing and start putting up where each chapters correspond to it. iono. HAHA. I'm just so lazy these days. I borrow this a long time ago and didn't start reading it until just this year. I should've returned this book, and a lot others, a while back. I'M SORRY, BRYAN.

Anyway, this series used to annoy me so much but now that I've finished all of the anime I really just like reading it because it reminds me of nostalgia. I would stay up and watch each episode feeling really light-hearted. sigh

The stressful part of my life should be lifting up soon. HAHA.. I'm ready. Hoping to read a lot.

BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MY KINDLE CHARGER IS.

Anyway, tan Azusa-nyan is super cute but her regular form is also adorable. I wonder if Jun-chan is going to join up with Azusa after all of the Seniors are gone. I think that would be nice. Is there more to this series after the main chicks are gone? I feel bad for Azusa a little bit because I was in that similar situation where most of my friends were the Seniors while I just had another year to go. It gets pretty depressing and lonely once I sat down and started to think about it.

But, then again, I also left some pretty nice Juniors. HAHAHA. Ahhh. It's a never-ending loop when you make friends that aren't exactly your age.

I love the friendship between Mio and Ritsu. It makes me think of me and my best friend, Kaylie. I would totally be Ritsu. HAHAHA. Kaylie is just like Mio. Both girls are really smart, shy, and great at what they do while I'm just sitting here, procrastinating all the time, reading manga, and playing video games. HAHAHA. I love it. I love Mugi's girl-love view, too.

I would love to finish this series in manga form someday. iono. Sometimes I think of collecting the series but meh.
