My writing covers a wide range, with fiction being my favorite to create, with two dozen or so titles under my belt. There are 16 titles in my YA interactive Try Not to Die series and 24 more in the works. I also have two nonfiction titles, both inspired by a reckless lifestyle, playing Ivy League football, and battering the hell out of my brain as an unsuccessful MMA fighter and boxer. Unlocking the Cage is the largest sociological study of MMA fighters to date and TBI or CTE aims to spread awareness and hope to others that suffer with traumatic brain injury symptoms.

I live in sunny California with my wife, two kids, five cats, and one demon. Derek. He makes special appearance on my social media

You can also get your first set of free stories by signing up to my newsletter. This letter is only for the brave, or at least those brave enough to deal with bad dad jokes, a crude sense of humor, and loads and loads of death.
Derek and I would love to have you join us!

Not sure if I’ve ever read a book that felt this irrelevant and like my choices didn’t matter.

Can you survive?

Rocky is trying to go to town. But there is danger at every turn. Snakes, other dangerous things await. You can choose your fate as you read or read straight through. Amazing read for everyone. Pulse pounding hard to put down read. Characters you love, some you despise.

What a fun little read! This was my first interactive adventure and I really had a ball with it. I tried not to die, but truth be told I had 14 most horrible demises. lol. Getting shot, getting stabbed, throat cut, dismembered (pretty much) by a train, and much more. Who knew dying could be so much fun.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and unbiased opinion of the tale.

My husband is a huge fan of Western movies, so I knew that I had to try not to die in the Wild West! Did I succeed.....well, let's just say that I died many horrific deaths before I finally reached the end! Rattlesnakes, trains, outlaw gangs, rushing waters....who knew there were so many ways to die?

I have to say that was my first foray into interactive books (I'm way older that the target audience of those when they came out), but it was a lot of fun and I had a blast trying to survive! The authors have done a great job in creating a creative adventure that has a HEA ending (if you can ever reach it lol!).

These TNTD books are so much fun. Just a good break from the super serious and more deep horror I usually read. Plus I just love the nostalgia of the choose your own adventure books of my youth.
I first read TNTD at Grandma’s House, and that one was really fun, but this one seemed to have a more detailed story line. I really enjoyed the deaths here a little more too! Wild West lived up to its name for sure! What a blast.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.

Try Not To Die: In the Wild West puts a "wild" spin on the "choose your own adventure" troupe. I went into this book totally blind, and I was pleasantly surprised. Whether it's hiding from outlaws or making a dangerous jump, you had better choose wisely if you plan on surviving!

Action!

Wow! What can be said but wow. I think I choose every wrong choice there was when there was a choice to be had. I liked the interaction and the many possibilities of what happens when that wrong choice is made.

I “died so many times it’s embarrassing. Lol. But this was a lot of fun. Kinda reminded me of playing Oregon Trail as a kid in school.

Quick, fun read. I enjoyed reading Goosebumps choose your own adventure books as a kid, so this was a bit nostalgic for me.

I haven't done one of these since I was a kid. Died a few times but eventually made it out.

Not something I'd read again.
