For the most part, this was a good book. It had lots of suspense, twists and turns. I gave it four stars simply because I figured out “Steve’s identity before it was revealed, so no surprise for me. He was just too elusive, with no photos, no trail, etc. Overall, it was a nice way to spend an afternoon.

This book was quite interesting.

Negative Content, Triggers.

A mention of someone thinking that God didn't listen to them.

A mention of a man who had been in the marines remembering a woman who was at the first responder BBQ the summer before, and how she had wanted to know who he'd had back home to miss him during his time overseas, and when he said there was no one then or now, she'd started to drape herself over him like she was melted cheese. As if there was anything special about him.

A mention of a man thinking about a woman having a fire about her when it came to standing up for her self, a fire that warmed him. In a way he hadn't felt for a long time. His wife hadn't been like this, which was probably why it'd fallen apart between them. That, and the fact she'd cheated on him while he was in Afghanistan. Like the reality of him being deployed was a surprise she hadn't been prepared for.

Some mentions of a woman's lack of faith in God due to past events.

A mention of a woman meeting a man at a bar.

Some mentions of a woman having cheated on her husband.

A mention of a man thinking that he had been deployed, not watching for evidence that his wife was cheating on him.

A female bad guy says that her male partner in crime told her to distract a husband one night . . . while the bad guy seduced the wife and stole a valuable necklace. When asked where he was now, she said he was probably still up in the wife's room.
When they went to the wife's room and knocked on the door, a older woman answered, her hair and dress rumpled, saying she was robbed. When asked where he was, she said, "He ran off!" And wailed and touched her cheeks with both hands. "He just took it and ran! I thought we had something special."

The lead female spends the night in the guest bedroom of the lead males home.(this is never a good idea, no matter the good intentions, and it could expose them to temptation, as well as ruin their reputations, even if nothing happened). There is also a mention of her thanking him for letting her swing by his house to change, and for giving her somewhere to stay that night.

A mention of a man having divorced his wife for cheating on him, and that by the time he had signed the divorce papers, he'd been glad to get rid of a woman who would treat him like that. Someone who didn't want to be married to him. Why try and make it work when she'd already checked out?

A mention of a man laying his hand on a woman's shoulder to get her attention.

A man thinks romance hadn't been on his radar after his ex-wife, and that it seemed like a certain woman was the only woman who could've possibly changed his mind, and that she was the first woman since his ex he'd even thought about in terms of what a relationship between them might be.

A man tells his brother that a woman was "quite a woman". His brother then said" "Don't even think about it." When he asked his brother if it was "Because you're calling dibs?" His brother thought that he nearly throttled his little brother right then and there, even though he hadn't had the urge to do that in years, and said, "Bro, that's the most juvenile thing you could've said right now."

A man thinks that if his and a woman's lives meshed at all, he'd have been all in for figuring out how to make a relationship work. Not just because she was the first woman he'd met since his ex-wife had broken his heart and destroyed his trust that made him want to try. Had God brought her here for a reason? He later asks her to marry him, and she says yes. (God would not lead someone to have a relationship with or get married to someone who had been married before and their spouse or ex-spouse was still living.)(Matthew 19:2-9 KJV)

A man asks if a woman he is with if she would like a hat or gloves, and she says that it is getting cold, and she thinks that she'd put a thermal layer on under her jeans, and a long-sleeved T-shirt with a hoodie and her coat. Still she said, I'll take a beanie, if you have one.

A mention of a woman thinking that if things were at all different between and a man she really liked, she might have lifted up onto the balls of her feet and pressed a kissed to his cheek - or his lips. But she didn't have the right to do that. And when she was soon leaving, it would be unfair. They weren't having a vacation fling before school started up again, and neither were they teenagers with no cares in the world.( a "fling" is never a good idea, no matter what someone may think.)(1 Corinthians 6:13, 6:18, 7:2, Ephesians 5:3, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Jude 1:7. KJV)

A woman tells a female bad guy that a male bad guy they both knew had knocked her head against a wall hard enough to knock her out, and when she replyed "So?" She asked if he had done that to her before. The female bad guy then said, "He's a guy. Guys get intense."

A man calls his brother to tell him that he thought that someone was trying to break in to his home, and his brother tells him to call 911, and he thinks to himself that he was working. That his brother should know better then to bother him when he was working, and that he could get officers to respond if he genuinely needed help.

A bad guy lights a lighter in a room full of gas fumes, blowing himself up.

Triggers for blood.

A woman is stabbed (off page), and it mentions that blood covers her chest and stomach, pooling onto the floor. (Not necessary to know quite that much).

This was my first book by this author, and had some really enjoyable spots, but there was a bit of content that made it a little hard to really and fully enjoy it. If I had to say what dropped the rating the most, I'd have to say it was the mention of the bad guy seducing a woman in her bedroom, the lead woman sleeping at the lead mans house, and the man asking the woman to marry him, even though his ex-wife was still living, and the constant thoughts from the man of his wife having cheated on him. Again, this book had some really good and exciting parts in it, but it wasn't quite there morally for a Christian book. Maybe fixable with some whiteout tape.

Tracking Stolen Treasures was another excellent book by Lisa Phillips.

K-9 Officer Hank and FBI agent Alena's story was full of twists and surprises. It was full of great action and suspense. With an undercover operation, a kidnapping and with baggage from both their pasts which they work through.

This was a great book, and what a surprise ending!!

“Tracking Stolen Treasures by Lisa Phillips features FBI agent Alena Sanchez and K-9 Search and Rescue officer Hank Miller.

Alena is in Montana to find the people behind a string of jewel thefts. When someone targets her, Hank is tasked to protect her and help her solve the crimes.
Both Alena and Hank have personal things in their lives that they try to keep to themselves, but when their attraction is unable to be denied, they have to decide if they want to share or not.

While “Tracking Stolen Treasures has suspenseful elements, I found it to be more of a mystery that needed to be solved. It was still a good story and I recommend any fan of Lisa Phillips should read this one.

Tracking Stolen Treasures, written by Lisa Phillips, was a fast-tracked plot filled with mystery, a criminal enterprise and the good guys kicking in doors to find the answers and save lives. FBI agent Alena Sanchez had a case to solve to the best of her ability in her mind it was for redemption. However, due to a disastrous case failure in the recent past, Alena has only attempted to live her life as best as she could, where there was no given margin for error. However, without a firm standing in her faith, she was being overwhelmed by the problems wreaking chaos in her life. Her past mistakes were being steamrolled by a criminal mastermind who was still determined to drag her down in shame.
Throughout the early pages of this book, Phillips introduction of Officer Hank Miller and his K-9 Dax, Chief Willa, as well as a glimpse of the man who had inspired Hank and his brother in their military career Alena’s father -- gave a glimpse of the world that Alena wanted to shine in. As she worked on her case, she became a temporary member of the local PD who worked hard together to solve crimes, save lives, and to keep the citizens of their town safe. This group of Officers in this police department were determined to follow the evidence and clues to ensure its citizens were safe from danger and threats. As the pages turned, Alena and Hank became, most importantly, a team that could work together before understanding each action that each other attempted.
The criminal activity within this book reminded me of the reality that does occur within our lifetimes. However, I was as shocked as some of the characters that some criminal would be so bold and that lives could mean so little. Yet, within the pages of this story, Phillips presented the overall picture that faith in Jesus as well as the knowledge that absolute faith or trust in our God. If we truly believe in Jesus and trust in Him, that will ensure our redemption as He is our Redeemer.
Alena and Hank are led on the trail of the killer and thief, yet their hope is processing with them to select a future of togetherness with each other. Hope is a key that Alena and Hank hold onto as their pasts are finally laid to rest. In the end, they face a choice to move forward to a future of love and a choice of letting go of the pain of yesterday. As Officers of the Law, they can choose to let go of the shame and move towards a future of helping others as they celebrate their love.
I enjoyed this fast-paced book written by Author Lisa Phillips. It seemed that the message resonated with me even though I fit no way in this storyline. I loved the action, the suspense, and the overall message that With God, All Things Are Possible. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I can only hope this becomes the beginning of a series! Thank you, Lisa Phillips for a great book to read!

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Tracking Stolen Treasures. This is a K-9 Search and Rescue Novel. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of intrigue. I know you are going to love it.

FBI Agent Alena Sanchez goes undercover to a medical convention to catch a murderer and a violent gang of jewel thieves. As she was going to her chalet a woman with a small dog was kidnapped right before her eyes. This woman was her prime suspect. She threw the small dog, Kitty at Alena. Now what?

SVPD Officer Hank Miller and his K-9 partner arrived at the resort. Someone has been kidnapped. It was his job to find the woman. As he talked to the woman who had witnessed the kidnapping shots were fired. Someone was shooting at his witness.

Forced to work together they must avoid the traps set for them to find the killers and thieves. God has a plan for these two a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan for peace and not for harm. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

Exciting adventure with a great group of characters

Alena is on an undercover FBI mission when her suspect is kidnapped right in front of her. Officer Hank and his search and rescue dog Dax come to get her statement and end up saving her from a sniper. Now they are working together to figure out what exactly is happening and how they can stop it. Will they succeed before someone stops Alena permanently?

The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has a few kisses and no steam. The Christian values are a part of the story. This is an exciting Christian adventure with a great K-9 companion. Enjoy!

Aleana is an under cover FBI agent, Hank is a local K-9 cop, both hunting jewel thieves.

Aleana is sent to Montana to see if the leads they have will pan out. She no more than checks in when the first suspect is kidnapped in front of her and then she is shot at. Hank and Dax his canine partner are pulled in to investigate what is going on and find the lady that was kidnapped.
Someone in the resort is helping the jewel thieves but they can’t seem to pin point who. They do have custody of the one that took the place of lady killed at last theft and of course they have her little dog. Leaves them lots of room to to find the other crooks if they can just stay alive.

Though the writing felt somewhat 'scattered' in this novel, I did enjoy both Alena and Hank as characters. It was clear that they were both trying to do the right things, not only in their work as law enforcement, but in their personal lives, especially when it came to each's family member. I feel like both of them were trying to live with faith in God as well, even if that faith ebbed and flowed a bit.
The suspense seemed to have a lot of 'moving parts' . . . but then I suppose that's how real cases actually are. I did figure out part of the 'twist' before it was revealed, but that didn't stop me from turning pages to see if I was right and how it would all play out.

loved the book!

I have enjoyed all of Lisa Phillips K-9 books that I’ve read so far. With this one I’ve been too busy to finish my normal and it’s taken way too long. Each time I’ve picked it up, even when times have been over a week, I’ve been able to get right back into it.
I’m looking forward to the next K-9 adventure and know, after the few I’ve read, that I won’t be disappointed❤️👍

This is a rather stereotypic, repetitive book. I liked the dogs, and the secrecy barrier in their relationship.
