I'm loving this manga more and more ???? I need the next volumes to come out already! I want to know what happens next in Rishe and Prince Arnold's story.

Now, Arnold is living in the royal villa with her and they're getting closer *eeep* They're always whispering and can't help but get closer to do so, so everyone in the villa, their maids and guards think they're flirting and it does look like that AND I LOVE IT. Arnold is not like that with anyone and he does unexpected things when it comes to Rishe!

Also this is SOOOO FUNNY. Rishe is hilarious and all the characters around her are too. Arnold has his moments because he's stoic and serious and you know that type, but still he has his own funny moments with Rishe too lol ?? ??

"Self-discipline isn't about being hard on yourself, it's about being kind to yourself."

I am in denial of having to "move on" and read something else! I WANT MORE OF THIS SERIES!! ???

Like the previous volumes, this one was full of surprises! I won't say what they are because the first one was SO much fun, but also had me double taking the page to see if that really WAS Rishe and she really WAS going to be doing what she was doing! LOL!

One surprise I will say that was outside of some new characters that I enjoyed meeting is ROMANCE!! Rishe and Arnold have such a slowburn romance, but I love it so much! I think Rishe is really starting to notice that she views Arnold differently, but what I wouldn't pay to know how ARNOLD was feeling and thinking about Rishe! I feel there were maybe two times in this volume where it was VERY clear that he doesn't want other men to talk to her in what could come across as romantically as well as not wanting her to be thinking of other guys (even if it wasn't romantically). He made a comment about having a tinge of jealousy and I might have felt bad because I giggled and was like YESSSSSS!! LOL! Wrong response maybe, but I'm here for ANY kind of crumb to see he loves Rishe and that Rishe loves him!

Overall, definitely another fun and wonderful volume in this series! Very much looking forward to the next volume's release as I already miss these characters and want to spend more time with them!

That's it now for this one. Gutted. Really felt the cold sadist type from Arnold with the duel. More of a training session than full on. But yay Rishe slipping into the training boot camp. Ahh, hidden identity. That's my jam. I like that Theodore has become much more open and Rishe's co conspirator. Not liking the new characters so far, contacts from Rishe's life as an apothecary. Might continue on with the light novels to see what happens.

This was so good, too! It actually has a lot more depth than the anime managed to cover - the part with Rishe talking about future!Arnold executing his general for treason was devastating. I know this is the central question of the entire series, but what did cause Emperor Arnold to turn so brutal? And can someone who caused that much destruction truly be a good person if only a few keys in their life had been turned differently in their past?

Despite having been murdered by Arnold herself in her previous life, Rishe continues to see that good in him, and to sincerely believe in the possibility of a different future. It's clear that while she doesn't recognize it herself just yet - too caught up in all her big plans - she's falling in love with her fiance.

There are a lot of great scenes between the two of them in this volume, from the blue-like-Arnold's-eyes gemstone to the duel to the two of them whispering intimately to each other in front of the servants. They get along so wonderfully. And while it's fun to see Arnold's little sparks of jealousy - towards an effusive visiting prince as well as his own future self, whom Rishe dwells on often - I like that he always, always prioritizes her independence. His jealousy isn't her problem, and he doesn't try to make it an issue she even notices.

Speaking of that prince, there's also a lot more intrigue to Prince Kyle and Michel Hevin in this version. In the anime, Kyle came across as sweet and kind and sickly and fairly innocent, but there's an undercurrent of much more. I like that while Arnold is still prince of a far more powerful country, their attitudes and determination are on much more of an even footing. Arnold didn't just trample a bunch of peace-loving unarmed countries on his imperial rampage: those who stood against him were brave and strong, which makes his accomplishments even more astonishing.

Michel is also a lot creepier right from the start, which fits what's coming next in his story. But it'll be a bit before I can continue with the manga adaptation, which I'm now sad about. It grew on me a lot over the last couples volumes. It's handled really well and carries the story clearly, without feeling like too much summarizing. Although I'm expecting the light novels to fill in even more details.

More fun bonus content at the end, including a cute little tidbit about Arnold as a precocious youth and Oliver as his longsuffering (but also enabling) friend/companion from early on. Interesting nod earlier in this volume to Rishe noticing that Oliver's loyalty, from the way he addresses the crown prince, is visibly entirely to him and not to the emperor they're supposed to serve. I wonder how long it'll be before we, and Rishe, meet that emperor. And is the general really so much more loyal to him over Arnold, who'd invited him to the castle to train his knights?

Other fun character: the knight Rishe gets to know during the training! I love seeing different sides of her, and how she constantly finds ways to win over a variety of people.

High 4 stars. I really like this story, and am patiently waiting for the next adventure while it introduces new characters and wraps up previous storylines (or slowly develops them).

I started in the middle of the series because I've already watched the , and this is about the best way I can support the series after the fact (given my doubts about , though supposedly ).

I mean, I guess I *could* look for it on video, but the manga is easier to find (and donate to a free library, haha).

Anyway, first complaint (and I didn't look up to see if it's a direct translation or not to know who to blame): She hasn't done a single "villainous" thing in the entire series*! The closest was she was blamed by her ex-fiancé** as a way to dump her, but she herself was blameless. So I *could* tag "villain protagonist" but won't... just being clear.

So, as this is the fourth volume—and I'm not going to bother spoiler-cutting anything as a result, since if you're reading this, you should maybe already know what the series is like anyway—it's not going to make a lot of sense out of context, which is again why I'm only reading it after knowing what's going to happen anyway. It has some of the more interesting highlights, like "Lucius" joining boot camp (though I wonder how Rishe hides the amount of time spent in boot camp while also not falling behind in both training and her other MANY, MANY tasks she's taken on for supposedly wanting to live a carefree life!) and Arnold taking her to the exclusive jeweller (and her passing the test to determine which are the fake gems). However, the number of things Rishe gets herself tied up in is so ridiculous that it feels like she has to be four or five people to handle them all, and the subject keeps changing so rapidly that I can't believe Lucius isn't found out within a couple of days!

Also, the whole consort part: it was her idea to get involved with Arnold romantically in the first place to change history, but WHY is Rishe always so embarrassed when she shows anything like affection toward him? The wanting a gemstone that matches his eyes—of COURSE a blushing bride would want something like that! How is that embarrassing? I would HOPE you like the person you plan to marry!

I don't know. It's an interesting story to go through once, but reading the manga after the fact is mostly interesting only to see what they changed for the anime. It might be more interesting if read first, but I can't give an objective opinion on that NOW. Decent art and composition, etc., though, so I don't as such regret picking it up.

*as per the anime, which seems to follow the manga, anyway—I couldn't tell you about the
**I don't even remember his name and don't feel like looking it up, since he's irrelevant by probably the end of the first book anyway

Edit to add: I meant to add, I love what Lawvine brings to the conversation, on their old practice of weeding out the weak and training the strong to send to battle:
As your elders, our job... is not to pick and choose those of the younger generation, but to raise them.
Sad how at least in my country, the elders have gone the complete opposite direction, to squeeze all they can from who they can, only to dispose of them once used up (or even make them criminals for the crime of no longer having a home). Seriously, this series—for supposedly being about a "villainess" and her worst enemy—is so much happier than our world! So many complaints about that subtitle, haha... ha.

Who would have thought I'd read an entire manga volume that was essentially a series of dates between the protagonists and thoroughly enjoy it? This is a mild exaggeration, of course, but that doesn't change the fact that a good 55% of this volume involved Rishe and Arnold going on dates together, including recreating the scene where he killed her. All right, it was actually a training duel, and Rishe was trying to cheat her way to victory by using the stunt that allowed her to wound Arnold in her previous life, but that's still a date!

This volume begins in the immediate aftermath of Rishe successfully creating a bond between Arnold and his little brother Theodore. Their long estrangement is the fault of both their father the Emperor and Arnold himself, who wants his siblings far away from him in an effort to protect them. From what? Readers know the answer is their father the Emperor and their eldest brother Arnold, so it's interesting how that will all play out in the future.

One thing I thoroughly enjoy is how Rishe is slowly discovering emotions any other girl her age would have had, but she herself never did because 1) her first fiancee is such a loser that it was a full-time job being engaged to him 2) once she was publicly dumped, she developed an aversion to romance and threw herself into enjoying the freedom to learn whatever she wanted 3) she kept dying at age 20. She's incredibly weak to Arnold's direct attacks, which provide many cute and funny scenes.

Honestly, this is probably the closest to traditionally romantic of all the volumes I've read thus far, and like I said, it is not the only focus. The second 40% of the volume focuses on familiar faces from Rishe's past lives, including yet another one of her mentors, which introduces fresh conflict in the story. These ongoing games of cat and mouse are probably the best part of the whole story, especially since by being in Galkhein, Rishe is changing many things that were otherwise set in stone in her other lives.

Manga is visual, art quality is still extremely high, the chibi reactions are still hilarious. Since this is lighter fare than the previous volume, there is more of a focus on fun, such as watching Rishe geek out over all the things that interest her to Arnold. As before, strong recommend, keep reading the series.

Prince Arnold Hein was so cute in this volume. I'm so glad we get little moments with him and Rishe and him being jealous of the person she's thinking while they're dueling (not knowing he's jealous of his future self) was so cute and funny at the same time. In the future he was much stronger and far more brutal. I hope unlike in the anime-- we will some point see why he got so brutal.

I also loved that he wanted to make Rishe happy and get her a ring so people would know that they were together. Her wanting to have a ring that was the same color as his eyes was just so good, especially since she said it aloud in front of him. I'm glad even though she's getting married to him to save her own life and others, she also clearly likes the prince and he also likes her. She'd promised to do whatever Arnold asked of her, but all he did was give.?

I like the art but I'm sad as this is manga, the art doesn't have any color.

All in all I'm loving this enemies to lovers slow burn manga. Rishe and Arnold are so cute and I think it will be so good when they finally realize that they are in love. I just didn't care for some of side characters.?

This volume gave me so much butterflies. I swear to god, I’m so excited to get to the new volume. Rishe and Arnold’s relationship is developing perfectly. She’s getting to know more about him and how different he is to who she thought he was based on what she knew about him from her previous lives. I think Arnold is unintentionally falling in love with her too which is so cute. The way he stared at Prince Kyle during that one scene will never not be hilarious. He was jealous, but I guess he wasn’t sure that was what he was feeling at the time. I love this couple so much. I just wish we don’t get some stupid miscommunication trope along the way because I would really hate that.

I picked up the first volume completely by accident and haven't looked back since. This series is just such a delight, the characters have well built personalities and depth and they aren't perfect, which makes it refreshingly realistic for a story like this.

Rishe and Arnold are so so cute and I just love them together and how she is slowly realising she is in love with him (not her exposing herself saying she wants a ring the colour of his eyes ?). I'm watching the anime now that I finished everything available, but I just want more ??

The fluff continues with a duel, secret training as a knight, a jeweler, and hand-crafted medicine for a neighboring kingdom. The direct links to her former lives hint at an orchestrated magic to shape the future. Prince Arnold continues to struggle to find a way to cherish Rishe yet protect her. While never groundbreaking or mesmerizing the hodgepodge of cliches integrate fine with the art. The side characters are not reduced to humor elements and the romantic elements have a very languid pace.

definitely reading this because of the anime. the manga isn't totally translated yet, but i'm having fun with what i'm reading now. loved the heroine because she's knowledgable and badass, especially since she has lived 6 lives prior. wondering how her relationship with the male lead will develop over time.

With the big drama of the moment resolved at the end of volume 3 we get a brief reprieve with some cute duel chemistry, sneaky romance stuff, before we're introduced to an old friend from one of Rishe's past lives that will no doubt start the ball rolling on the next big drama! Still very fun & cute!

The scene with Rishe picking out her wedding ring gemstone and asking for one that is the colour of Arnold's eyes will ALWAYS?SERVE.

The amount of times I replayed this moment in the anime is embarrassing. But I'll never get over the burning intense chemistry as she looked directly into his eyes when saying this so casually. AND HE DOESN'T EVEN BLUSH. THIS SLOW BURN DRIVES ME NUTS.?

Another solid volume in which we get a bit more development with Rishe and Arnold's growing relationship, but not a lot of plot stuff. I felt like this was mainly setting up plotlines for future volumes. Still, I continue to enjoy this series.
