Sleeping with her flatmate, Sam, had been a mistake–becoming a strip club manager’s pimp was a disaster.
Meg’s mother can't even say the word sex. Her great aunt is a nymphomaniac. The few men she’s slept with left her frustrated. The closest she’s come to sex was as the unwitting visual aid for hot flatmate, Sam’s cowboy style wanking session. No wonder her libido went on permanent vacation and she substitutes ice-cream and chocolate for sex.
With so many hang ups, why does she agree to no strings sex with Sam? Why is hunky, strip club manager Michael bent on seducing her? And why the hell does she invest in a male escort business offering extra services?
Sam’s delighted when he convinces Meg to let him go looking for her missing G-spot. A ride on his wild stallion shows her how good sex can be...with the right man. One encounter leads to a dozen. Sam is living every man’s dream, sex with no commitment, too bad it’s not his dream.
His new life turns into a nightmare when Michael enters the scene. Will the Irishman steal her away, or will his involvement in her Male Order business lead to a disaster that gives Sam a chance to prove to Meg their relationship is more than a sexual rodeo?
Born and bred in the UK, my whole life was turned on its head when, at the tender age of eighteen, I met and fell instantly in love with my darling husband. I knew the minute I met him I was going to marry him and, fortunately, he came to the same conclusion less than six months later. My husband has shown me the world, starting by bringing me to Australia. The country we now call home, and where we have raised our two boys. It didn’t take me long to turn native, becoming a citizen and dropping the British accent. However, our wanderlust didn’t stop there. We have moved from state to state always ready for a new adventure. We have also holidayed in many destinations around the world. No matter where in the world I am I always keep my quirky British sense of humor. Well, you can’t give up all of your heritage now can you?
Read this one in one sitting. Haven't read a book with this much steam that also made me laugh so much. What a great cast of funny characters. I loved them all, even the crazy one's. Only problem, that stopped it being 5 stars for me was some of the dialogue was a little bit immature and repetitive. Will be looking out for more of this author soon.
cute, fun read. Sam was fantasy, pure and simple. I have a problem with Sam always referring to his penis as his "trusty steed" and shouting "heehaw!" when he comes. he's an Aussie, so it's ok. Lillian Grant writes women so honestly. and the cover! *fans herself*
I can barely stop smiling enough to write this review. Ms. Grant's Male Order is a total hoot. Now you have seen the sexy cover...let me assure you sexy is not an issue here. What you may not be expecting is how funny this is. Lillian Grant is a true comedian. Her zingers pack a punch. And the characters are a delight. You have Meg, the fluffy heroine who is very much worried she might be alternately frigid and a nympho. Sam, her delectable roomie who loves having his stallion ridden. Michael, the Irish lothario who drives Meg to distraction. And Aunt Maud, an elderly sex maniac. Male Order kept me giggling, sighing and smiling, and I cannot wait to continue with the next book!
My travelling companions on the train are used to me burying my nose in a book for my daily journeys to work. It’s still unusual though, for me to squeal with laughter and have to wipe my eyes because I’m laughing so hard and blushing at the same time. But so it was with Male Order.
Meg would say her sex life sucks, if she had one. As it happens, her 2 favourite guys are called Ben & Jerry and she sees them most nights, when she curls up on the sofa with a movie. After all, she needs something to distract her from her new flatmate, the ridiculously buff and sexy Sam. Gym instructor Sam. Super-fit Sam. All round Nice Guy Sam. The total opposite of Meg in every way.
Her best friend Laura has a brilliant idea for a new business. Lifestyle Advisors, aka pimps. They will advise the attention of a handsome young man to woman lacking that certain zing in their lives. And then of course, supply the man in question.
Meg stared open-mouthed. Had she lost her mind? “Do I look like I should be giving people lifestyle advice? Unless they want to learn how to dress badly and put on weight, in which case, I’m definitely their girl.
She could, of course, do with a little zing in her own life and when Sam learns about her terrible her sex life has been so far, he agrees and makes her a suggestion.
“We’ll treat the night as two friends doing each other a favour. No commitment, no pain, just mind blowing sex.
Well who wouldn’t be tempted! And Meg succumbs, but has doubts the morning after.
He’d seen her in all her wobbly glory, and yet he had valiantly soldiered on. She should put his name up for an award. Presented to Sam Stephens for services rendered in the face of mountainous fat in an ongoing quest for Maggie Riley’s missing libido.
To her surprise amazement Sam wanted a second round.
All her ice cream munching and lack of exercise must be catching up with her she was having a coronary. At least if she died now she would be happy in the knowledge that sex was better than any flavour made by Ben & Jerry.
However, things never run to plan for Meg. She knows it’s a bad idea to take Sam to the family BBQ, to expose him to her very bizarre family, but somehow that’s what happens. First off, her mother. A woman who strikes fear into Sam’s heart.
Her arrival was like a royal tour. Hat placed firmly on her head, crisp white and blue flowery patterned linen dress, matching shoes and handbag. She looked like she’d escaped from the fifties.
And there’s Meg, wearing a dress that Sam picked from her terrible wardrobe.
Even though the dress ended mid-calf she knew her mother would glare disapprovingly at the two tiny triangles barely covering her boobs. If she leaned forwards too far the girls would escape their inadequate refuge.
If her mother is bad enough, Sam has never met anyone quite like Great Aunt Maud!
If she were Sam, she’d have blocked the whole memory from her mind. Her mother had cross examined him and her great aunt Maud had just pinched his butt, declaring him to be just the sort of young man she needed to keep her pacemaker ticking.
They seek refuge in her mother’s kitchen, and get a little carried away
“Do you have a condom on you? He slid his free hand into his pocket. Some girls might think it presumptuous of him to be carrying protection, but like a boy scout, a good fuck buddy should always be prepared.
At least her sex life is improving, but her friend’s business plan makes her very nervous. Especially when it now involves a dubious male-stripper joint called the Jolly Roger.
“Some woman drew a face on Chad’s dick with a sharpie a few weeks ago and we decided he needed a name of his own. We ran a contest, with the prize being dinner and dancing with the newly named cock and his owner. The winning vote was for Roger. Now he’s the bar’s unofficial mascot. We’re going to put his picture on the wall behind the bar.
Things go from bad to worse. The first man on their ‘payroll is Michael, her sister’s Irish ex-boyfriend. And their first client is the sex-mad great aunt Maud.
She glanced at Meg. “Muriel says she blows Joe when he’s out of Viagra. I offered to blow him. I even took my teeth out so I could get better suction. She took a step closer to the bed and Michael squealed in terror.
Nobody bundles sexy men, hot erotica and laughter together as well as Lillian Grant. I loved every minute of this book and am thrilled that the sequel (Male Review) will be out soon. This is a definite feel-good 5-star read :-)
How did shy and frumpy Meg go from writing ad campaigns and eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream all night to shagging her flatmate and running a prostitution ring? Well, find out in MALE ORDER the lasted book by Lillian Grant.
Meg has an ok life. She has a job, she has her friends, and she has her ice cream. What's not so ok is that she has no sex life, and the few times she has sex has left her feeling like there is something wrong with her. Her friend and co-worker, Laura, comes up with a plan for them to start a business together to help women like Meg out. They'd call it "Male Order", and it would specialize in men that will cater to lonely women's needs. Laura thinks it sounds perfect, but Meg thinks it sounds like prostitution.
So, Meg is feeling sorry for herself because her friend thinks she needs to pay a man for him to want her, but her flatmate, Sam, tries to convince her otherwise. Sam and Meg agree on a no-strings attached sexual agreement so that he can show Meg just how sexual she is.
Meanwhile, Laura goes forward with the Male Order idea and gets Meg sucked into it as well. Needless to say, Meg goes from frigid to nympho, and mousy office worker to pimp, and the rest as they say is history.
This book was funny. Laugh out loud, funny. From all of the disasters that make up Meg's life, to Aunt Maud the octogenarian hornball, I was cracking up the whole time. Meg's character was the kind of woman that you'd really want to root for. You want things to go her way, even though there seem to be obstacles facing her around each corner.
Sam and Meg were great together. He really brought out her inner vixen, and that's exactly what she needed. They had lots of chemistry and an insane amount of sex, but hey I'm not complaining there.
My ONLY complaint was that I got tired of the horse metaphors when it came to Sam's penis. I think that it was funny the first few times, but I was rolling my eyes a little bit by the end.
Other than that, I had a great time reading this. Lillian Grant has a great voice and I like her style of writing. While this was a departure from her other books, I thought she did a great job. She's able to give us characters that we invest in and want good things for, and in my opinion, that's the sign of great writing!
Male Order certainly explores the sexual world. I enjoyed Meg’s character as well as the issues she has with her sexual relationship with Sam. But I have to say that when it came to Sam, some of his dialogue left me flat. Ms. Grant’s tale of roommates-turned-lovers has some funny anecdotes and original circumstances in it that told me her quality of writing is good. I think certain members of the reading community will find that this book hits their funny bone just right.
This was a really cute story. Lots of humor, good chemistry between the two main characters, silly premise. :-) I was sad for Meg with how little she thought of herself. Based on her own self description and self-deprecation, I can see why she didn't think Sam would be interested. And if Sam had just stopped teasing her, he might have been able to come out and tell her how hot he was for her. But hey, it set up a pretty wild night (or few) for the two of them. She cracked me up how she kept running from him. This was one of those where you wished they'd just talk honestly with each other. Sam wanted more from Meg but didn't tell her, probably because she wouldn't have believed him. Meg didn't want to just be Sam's fuck buddy but figured that's all she'd ever get of him. The sex (while it was still explicit) was pretty steamy, but it tapered off about 2/3 of the way through. We were told they were still having mind-blowing sex, but just didn't get the details anymore. But then the Male Order portion of the story picked up more. I still don't get why Meg kept going along with Laura's steamrolling about the business. I also can't believe Aunt Maud was their first client! She was a hoot! The one thing that got old for me in this were the constant "stallion" references to Sam's manhood. At the same time, at times it provided some of the humor.

"Male Order" by Lillian Grant was some contemporary erotica romance and the first in its series. Now this is erotic so this may not be for you.... Please be aware. Moving on Sam and Meg are roommates that will begin a 'friends with benefit relations.' Being told that Meg is 'sexually repressed...Sam will make it a challenge to take her on.
What all will Sam have to do in order to change Meg's mind. For she is a 'curvy woman' with issues with her body and she 'doesn't believe that a man like Sam would be interested in a long tern relationship with someone her size, even if he flits with her, cuddles with her...'
What will Sam do in the situation? When Sam learns about her terrible sex life Meg has had so far, he agrees and makes her a suggestion.
From the quote:
We’ll treat the night as two friends doing each other a favors. No commitment, no pain, just mind blowing sex. Now, who wouldn't succumb to that?
This is where I say you will have to pick up "Male Order" to find out how this author will deliver this to the reader. Get ready for a good story of sexy men, hot erotica sex with lots of humor. Would I recommend? I will just let you choose if this is a read for you.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this read but it was brilliant! From start to finish I couldn’t stop reading, I was completely enthralled in the story. I loved the humour throughout the read, you never expect much humour in a steamy erotic read but this had it and it was perfect, the kind of sarcastic humour that I enjoy. The characters we so done, it was great how Meg wasn’t some stick-thin blonde stereotype for hot as all hell Sam to fall for, she was a real woman. Sam and Meg are so perfect together, though Sam’s constant referencing of his favourite member as a “stallion got a little tiresome, but it was only a small distraction from the read.
I didn’t much like Meg’s friend Laura; she just seemed to be all about herself and getting what she wanted. The whole Aunt Maid and Michael situation was hilarious, when Meg had to go rescue him from her aunt; he sure got what he deserved though. I really loved this; I didn’t want it to end. I could read about Meg and Sam for endless hours on end, not to mention the sizzling steamy scenes between the two. When I found out that there is a second book “Male Review where the story continues it as a relief, bring it on!
Absolutely ridiculous! Male Order started off great- roommates with a mutual attraction. Meg was plus sized and I thought, "Great! A book with a character who'll battle her self-esteem and a hero who'll show her the way." No. Meg consistently demeans herself throughout the story and lets other people do it to, which drove me bonkers. I kept hoping she'd stand up for herself to Laura (her bff), her mom, or Sam (hero). It never happened. Her self-deprecation was not attractive and the book would have benefited greatly from more character development. Sam played the jealous hero role to perfection (which I have mixed feelings about), but the constant references to his penis as a wild stallion or steed and everyone's obsession with it really distracted me from him as a person. And I still have no idea what was with all the horse references- he worked at a gym not on a ranch! I'm chalking it up to some Aussie cultural thing that I know nothing about. The best parts by far were the interactions with Aunt Maud who was the comedic foil in this tale, but even she overdoes it at some points. Definitely worth a star, but nothing else.
I really liked this book. The cover is *wonderful*. I love friends to lover stories, but most of them unfortunately turn out to be duds. This one however, did not.
Sam helps Maggie reclaim her libido and in the process they find their HEA. I HATED her friend Laura. Everyone has had friends though, and even though you love them you have to cut them loose, cause they are no good for you. Luckily for Maggie, Sam was there to pick up the pieces. After years of Sam dancing around the idea of being with Maggie, they ended up being a cute couple.
Compared to some erotica, this one falls to the tamer end. Sometimes you just need a good love story. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a fairly quick, but very hot romance with some laughter. Lots of humor in this book, especially Sam and his stallion.
Let me start by saying I usually like a little more ... what's the word ... emotion - melancholy ... a blacker black moment, more ... yearning - in a book. You know what I mean -- She's so in love with him but there's no way he could ever lover her back... yada yada. But this had barely any of that and I enjoyed it - thoroughly. It was funny, clever, sassy and these characters seemed well-rounded enough. I loved that Lillian Grant cast tangible characters that weren't perfect (although Sam was pretty darn close - whew!) I really, really enjoyed this book and I plan to rave about it's hilarious kink to all of my friends! So funny, so sweet, and damn hot. Plus friends to lovers are my absolute weak-spot. A wonderful, glorious 4.5 stars!~
I loved this book it was so damn funny and Sam that boy is cocky, "he grinned. "I don't believe you. You had lust in your eyes when you watched me jack off. Tell me the truth." Freakin' Meg is so dang cute, "as she continued to gaze at his d***, it lengthened and thickened. Oh heavens, he was getting an erection right there in front of her. Before she realized her lips had parted, a voice squeaked, "oh eff, you're getting hard." She's clever with the words that come out of her mouth, "and you're not? You had a woody that wouldn't have looked out of place on a stud race horse the minute you walked into my room." I wouldn't mind reading another book by this author.
This book was alright. It had some hysterical moments, like getting "caught banged to rights" (did you know "sex in the kitchen is unhygienic"?) and recuing poor men from Aunt Maud. It also had lots of hot moments, like catching Sam spanking it, the events in the kitchen, when Sam goes caveman (that was my favorite), and while reaching under tables. I have to say I did not like Laura, she was a horrible best friend who continuously ran Meg over and ignored her wishes. There was only two scenes in the whole book that made her not completely self centered. Also all the 'stallion', 'steed', stables', and 'yeehawing' was a little strange, but all in all this was a good book and I enjoyed it. <3
As long as the reader remembers not to take the plot or characters too seriously, Male Order is a funny, quick romantic read. Meg is an adorable heroine even with all of her hang ups, and Sam makes a perfect foil for her. They had me rooting for them throughout.
I highly recommend this book and this author to anyone who enjoys witty romance with an added bit of steam.
4 " love the little pony" Stars!! Me likey this one ..As always I waited to look to read , I remember getting this for the cover only :) " I don`t think you`re frigid. I think you`ve had the misfortune of picking some real dickheads. A man should take the time to ensure his partner is ready for him, and never finish until he`s positive she`s fully satisfied." Sam ran a finger down her cheek. " Would you like a lover like that? " I loved Sam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really liked Sam and Meg. The way he was so hot for her was very sweet. I could have done without the business subplot, I would have liked a bit more just Sam and Meg realizing their feelings for each other.
DNF. Cover so naughty that I fell for it. But when your first sexual encounter is walking in on a guy yelling "yeehaw!" While jerking off in his recliner wearing cowboy hat and white socks... That's not hot. That's lame.
The heroine was a woe-is-me doormat with a toxic so-called “friend. Also cringeworthy: her cartoonishly over-the-top family, Sam’s orgasm cry (“yeehaw!) and his incessant use of “steed and “stallion when referring to his penis.
Started out pretty good, had a good story line that could have made this a really good book, but then I felt like it was rushed through and a lot of things didn't make sense, and then it was over.
