New-to-me author Debra Burroughs' romantic suspense novel, "Three Days in Seattle" was more suspenseful with light touch of romance. I struggled to finish this one. The writing didn't flow well for me, the characters lacked depth and I never could connect, and finally the storyline felt rushed and a bit helter skelter which resulted in less than a good solid thriller. Readers will identify almost immediately who the bad guy is and the reasoning behind his crimes.

Three Days in Seattle by Debra Burroughs was an engaging afternoon read. Ms. Burroughs' descriptive writing of Seattle made me almost feel like I was right there walking throughout the city with Kate and Ryan. The mystery was smoothly paced and sad once all of the pieces came together. The romance was quick for Kate and Ryan but it never took over the mystery.

Debra Burroughs' Three Days in Seattle is sweet romance with a healthy dose of suspense thrown in for good measure. I freely admit that I was, initially, drawn to this book by the title. I've lived in, and around, Seattle for the past fifteen years and I rarely pass up a book based in the Pacific Northwest.

I liked Debra's attention to detail around the local landmarks mentioned in her book; I've been to most of the locations tagged in Three Days in Seattle. Years ago, I took a spectacular photo from one of the book's focal points . . one of my all-time favorite Seattle locations -EVER!

I also lived, for twenty years, in south central (Wendell) Idaho . . it's rare to find a novel that touches on two geographic locations so near and dear to my heart!

There is one smile-inducer, within the pages of the book, that I cannot resist mentioning . . it truly did leave me with an ear-to-ear *grin*. The first paragraph of Chapter 9 notes that the main characters "dashed to the airport and made it in time to catch their flight. The traffic on the 405 wasn't too bad . . "! I drove the Seattle commute for many years and, trust me, if they were taking the 405 to SeaTac, from Seattle, they were takin' the loooong way around! I-5 would have been much faster - even in traffic! (I was very glad they made it it time!)

This was a quick read, not too heavy on the mayhem and the romances was - for all intents and purposes - PG-rated. Enjoyable!

This book was a light read, a frolic. The romance is sweet and cute, and the suspense was not too graphic. It certainly doesn't cause any emotional angst or disturb anyone with nightmares or leave a horrible aftertaste.

The main character's sister is missing and she goes to Seattle to search for her. While on the airplane she meets a sweet, charming real estate agent. They quickly become fast friends and he helps her deal with the police investigation.

This is a great beach or vacation read. The plot is predictable, the ending is sweet. There are no major disturbing issues that would keep you awake at night and everything is resolved nicely and neatly at the end. Sugary dialogue aside, this story is entertaining in a mild way, like light salad dressing, lite beer, or Splenda.

Throughout the book, I kept thinking the male character was too good to be true. He didn't seem to have any flaw. He drops everything to accompany the main character, and at the end he is declared the hero over and over again. I kept waiting for some chilling twist, like maybe he's the villain or had some deep, dark secret, but I guess this is not that kind of book.

This book was a nice light read. From the moment Katie McAllister is contacted by her sister's roommate with news she's missing the clock is ticking with readers wondering if she'll find her sister in time. A chance meeting with a handsome man named Ryan on the way back to Seattle leaves you wondering if he's too good to be true while the sister's roommate turns out to be seriously twisted. All this is set in Seattle, Washington and gives you a good feel for the place with the space needle, Bainbridge ferry and Queen Anne's Hill neighborhood along with numerous other references for people familiar with the area or people just wishing to become so. I'd say more about the story but that would give it away and spoil it for those wishing to read it.

I enjoyed this book, and the characters of Kate and Ryan. Kate gets a call from her sister's roommate that her sister is missing. Kate leaves her job in LA and heads to Seattle --- her home that she has avoided since her parents death. She happens on Ryan at the airport and then outside the police station and he provides support through the ordeal. With Kate upset with reliving her parents accident and dealing with her sister being missing, it takes a lot of 'coincidences' and some close calls before the story line comes together.

It was a little dull, but one thing I liked was that the villains were really quite stupid. THat sounds funny but I get so impatient in RS when the cops and the FBI and the other LE folks are completely befuddled by the creepy villains. Not the case in this one! Both villains were dumb as posts. Hero and heroine were a nice couple. This would be a good choice for those who like non-explicit romances too,

I loved this book -- the plot twists, suspense, and bit of romance kept it very interesting. I didn't want to put it down once I started!

This was a nice book to sit down and relax with though, for me, it was more of a romance story with a little suspense built around it.

While I can't say I would be looking for romance if a member of my family was missing, with Ryan being an ex-cop, it makes sense that he would try to distract Kate as much as possible instead of having her continually wringing her hands in despair or trying to interfere with the investigation...and it wasn't as if he was trying to get her into bed, even if they did grow to develop a strong attraction to each other. Ryan was brought up with morals which influenced his thoughts and actions, a guy his parents were proud of, to be sure. His character was respectable; I've known guys like him and they still exist, putting others' needs ahead of their own - so it wasn't as if people like him don't exist.

Yes, one may argue, the circumstances for falling in love were less than ideal and a lot happened in three days - which is definitely true - but the story wasn't inspired by true events so I didn't expect to read a book which would mirror a person's life and circumstances. If I had such expectations, the book would have been a tad bit disappointing on some levels but I was looking for a fiction tale to take me away for a few hours and that's what I received while being introduced to a perfect couple. The most disappointing factor for me about Three Days in Seattle was that I was expecting more of a mystery.

Shelved as 'did-not-finish'

I got this book as part of the "Dangerous Attractions" 10 book boxed set.

I started reading but the writing is ALREADY driving me insane, so I'm not going to finish. Since I haven't even finished chapter one and I'm not going to give the story a chance, I'm not going to give it a star rating at all.

Here's an example of the writing, which I feel is underdeveloped and immature:

"A slight frown creased her brow as she turned and glanced at the Caller ID. She recognized the area code for Seattle, where her baby sister Whitney lived, but if it were her sister, the phone would have shown her name and not 'Unknown Caller'. Peering up at the wall clock, she saw the time was ten-forty-five pm. 'Why would someone I don't know be calling me this late?' Tension crept up the back of her neck. 'No one calls this late just to chat'. Reluctantly, she picked up the phone."

I refuse to read another entire book written like this. If this doesn't bother you, then by all means, read on and enjoy! ;)

This is the 1st book I read by Debra Burroughs. This book's story line is very confusing. When Kate finds out her sister Whitney was kidnapped it seems like she doesn't take it very serious. It seemed like Kate more focused on the new guy then her sister's disappearance. If my sister was missing I would be very upset, crying, & I wouldn't be worried about dating no man. The kidnapper seemed like they didn't plan Whitney's kidnapping very well. I also wasn't sure whether this was a romance or a romance suspense, it felt more like a romance to me. I'm not sure if I would read other books by this author.

I was sucked in from the first page, compelled to read on. The author gives you just enough infomation to make you want more. It keeps you reading until the very end, trying to put all of the pieces together. The romance is very sweet and balances out the suspense just right. The couple ends up fitting a lot of relationship into three days: meeting, becoming friends, meeting parents, a jealous ex-girlfriend, and more, all while trying to find out what happened to Kate's sister and protect Kate from the madman out for revenge. This is a great read if you are a fan of suspense and romance.

Starts out when Kate gets a call saying that her sister has been kidnapped, and her travelling to Seattle to launch an investigation on her missing sister. On the plane she meets Ryan, and somehow from there on things just develop between them.Including how Ryan would drop everything to help her and taking her for dinners, showing her around Seattle and its favorite spots.Interesting read, interesting plot though I things went too fast to happen within three days, but its okay I guess, maybe more harm would have come to Whitney and Kate so its good.Second book of Debra Burroughs I have read.

I obtained this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. I am so glad I got this book free and did not waste money on it. Kate is a photographer in Los Angles and gets a phone call from her sister's roommate insisting she come to Seattle because her sister Whitney is missing. She immediately goes and while there gallivants all over the state with a man she just met on the plane while she is supposedly distraught over whether her sister is dead or alive. Really, we are supposed to believe this is the way someone would act who loves her sister that is missing?

This is the first Debra Burroughs book I've read and based on this, it won't be the last!
Bought after reading a couple of reviews and the blurb.... Can say I wasn't disappointed.
Fast paced & interesting story, some romance, engaging characters and a few twists in the tale.... Didn't want to put the kindle down and read the book over the course of a day.
Looking forward to enjoying more of Debra's books!!

Terrible. Just terrible. Made it about 1/4 through and couldn't take anymore. I have no idea why the brother and sister wanted revenge against Kate and wanted her dead and I don't care. The jealous act with the Vanessa chick was juvenile and read like jr high. Stay away from this book. Horrible writing. I want the last 2 hours of my life back so I can devote it to a book worth reading. If I could give this book zero stars I would.

A very entertaining romantic mystery! When Kate's sister is reported missing, Kate travels to Seattle to try and find her. On the plane she meets Ryan, a handsome guy, who seems to be everything she wants in a man. Kate's sixth sense kicks in and together they track down her sister. A great beach read.

Very predictable, no depth on characters, any details were superfluous. Author told who-dunit half way through. No suspense and very far-fetched.
