Zoe is free. She has escaped the enslavement of the Community, disconnected from the hardware that had controlled her every thought and emotion, and evaded capture by the Chancellor intent on killing her. She is finally free, but she is far from safe.
Zoe and Adrien hide themselves from detection at the Foundation, an academy that trains teen glitchers to fight in the Resistance movement. Together, Zoe and her new team of superhuman fighters must risk their lives to rescue other glitchers and humans from the Chancellor's control. Challenges abound at every turn, and Adrien, who has become silent, distant, and tormented by his visions of the future, only adds to the growing certainty of defeat. But worst of all, as Zoe's team fights against impossible odds, distrust and betrayal leads to the terrible discovery that their greatest threat could already be lurking behind the safe walls of the Foundation.
Heather Anastasiu grew up in Texas and recently moved to Minneapolis with her family. When she's not busy getting lost exploring the new city, she spends most days writing at a café or daydreaming about getting a new tattoo.
On my review of last year, I have probably done a lot of belittling over that book, to a point that I wasn’t really expecting myself to read the rest of the series. But seeing an advance copy of book two made me think otherwise. Right now, after reading Override, I think I’m just about to eat my words. I even imagine Heather Anastasiu going: “Ha! In your face, bitch! She didn’t really say that of course, but I’d take it if she did. Haha!
Anyway, Override was the kind of book I least expected to love and enjoy. For one thing, I found Zoe typical in the first book, so the changes she went through in book two was admirable. From being someone once so powerful then having no control at all, and to be able to harness it once again, well Zoe I really got to give it to you. As struggling as you felt at first, nice job! Not to mention being told that she was supposed to lead an army of rebels, without her having any idea about how to do that was really pressuring, and I couldn’t help but feel compassion towards her.
With Glitch, I wasn’t completely sold on the love triangle going on between Zoe, Adrien and Max. I thought it was simply a ploy to spice things up. But... wow! Turns out Max really has a significant role in all this. That scene where Zoe found out he intruded the rebel facility I think my mind just blew to bits! Even though I hate Max, I have to admit that was one hell of a tactic!
I love the development that occurred with the rest of the characters, just as much as Zoe’s. It’s safe to say that each and every one of them (taking part in the Resistance) have issues of their own, and coming together for one purpose was not easy to leave all the baggage behind. Add the fact that they have grudges and opinions with one race and the other (glitchers, drones, ex-Regulators, etc), the whole set up was crazy and unstable. Still, it was an interesting mix.
Now on to the whole “glitchers having superpowers thing, to be honest I really thought it was a common idea. Zoe even reminds me so much of Jean Grey from Marvel’s X-Men, so I kept thinking why she came to be so special, with her telekinetic powers, among the characters in the book. Told you I belittled so much, but then I saw how Zoe’s powers evolved... that was brilliant! If I thought Max’s powers were cool, this is something else, and it feels like there would be more surprises up and coming.
It’s amazing how Ms. Anastasiu was able to mash up one super power with another in a way that doesn’t seem awkward or forced. She has every bit of a “logical explanation towards how they came to be. They were very well thought off that I couldn’t help but find myself agreeing that they aren’t far off from being possible.
Speaking of explanations, you should have seen my face when it came to the scientific talk. I was like: I’m sorry... What?! *insert clueless reaction* Really. The terminologies make me either zone out or just feel lost. Uhm... English, please? Haha!
It has been a rare treat for me to find a YA Sci-fi story that leaves me satisfied. Although the ending was a bit sad [over what Adrien has ended up being after], with high-speed thrilling escape scenes, action packed rescue missions and breath-taking superhuman battles, reading Override was such a gratifying experience!
*Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for the copy of Override.

Zoe has escaped from the Community, and has turned her attention to the Rez who will stop at nothing to take them down. With the help of Adrien, and all the rest of her Rez team members, she finds her growing powers truly unpredictable, but will stop at nothing until they take the Chancellor and her corrupt leadership down.
There was so much action in this one, I couldn't even stop reading it! I loved how Heather interlaced the plot within all the wonderful new characters and new story arc. It felt so seamless. You know how some books tend to bore you to tears because nothing significant happens? Well this isn't the case for Override because I was constantly trying to find out what the General and the Chancellors's motives were. That can cause anyone to be frustrated but I did mange to have some patience at least.
I just have to say the ending for this one was super sad. It broke my heart. It's one of those endings where you're like "WHAT!? DID THAT JUST HAPPEN? WHERE'S THE NEXT BOOK!?" I can't wait for Shutdown and I am dying to get my hands on it.
I had the pleasure and luck of being able to read this one early (no I can't reveal my source). What I always want from a sequel in a trilogy like this one is for the author to find a way to make the characters grow more, surprise me more and for the stakes to go up. Not just a Hangover 2 type thing where you basically tell the same story again and I think OVERRIDE is perfect example of a sequel that lives up to it's hype.
I don't really want to say more than that because I totally don't want to spoil it but the pages turn even faster in this one than in GLITCH but you have to read GLITCH first. Totally.
The book was pretty good overall. It kept me interested. The problem was: the plot was pretty much the same as the second book of the Hunger Games, Catching Fire. I can kind of see where the series is going now. The author is just telling the story of the Hunger Games in a new way.
Zoe : Katniss Adrian : Peata Max : Gale General : President Coin Chancellor : President Snow Markan : Prim City : Johanna Rand : Finnick
Those are just a few examples. Otherwise, Heather Anastasiu is a really good author and seems to know how to captivate an audience.
Holy mother of all that is holy! What in the hale just happened! Let me tell you this book is crazy good and then ending is just..it's just...OMG it is INSANE!! Override is a quiet sequel with a lot of information thrown at you, but don't think you can skip this book. The ending is something that you need to read and I am still in shock!
Override takes off pretty much where Glitch ended with Zoe joining the Rez with Adrian. We get to see how she is adapting being away from the community and how hard it is for her to harness her telek powers. I will admit that not a lot goes on in the beginning. There are a few big scenes but for the most part we are left to learn more about glitchers and what the world is coming too. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the first part but the second half is where my mind was blown apart. I can't even begin to tell you how many plot twists there are. I know my mouth dropped open at least a dozen times and at this very moment it is still open over the ending.
I am still in love with these characters. Zoe is determined to prove that she is worthy of her title and it was amazing to see her turn into the badarse that she is destined to be. I think we will see a lot more of her determination in the next book and I say bring it! She has a lot of weight on her shoulders but from just the glimpse we are given of her strength I know she will be the one to save everyone. Adrian well I can't really talk about him but he is still my hero and I well my heart is broken right now so after I write this review I am going to go write a letter to Ms.Anastsiu BEGGING for the next book. I can't leave this world the way it is!!
I thoroughly enjoyed Glitch and I have immensely enjoyed Override. You know a book is good when you don't have to reread it to get into the sequel. I remembered everything perfectly and I read Glitch last year so that in my mind marks a brilliant author! Ms.Anastasiu you are amazing and I cannot wait to read Shutdown! Which by the way I just saw comes out in July! Please tell me this is true!!
Starting right where GLITCH left off, Heather Anastasiu’s OVERRIDE grabs you and doesn’t let go until the very last word. With each page packed with thrilling action and stunning romance, you’ll love this book just as much as the first!
Zoe and Adrien are back and better than ever, with a few new friends, ready to take down the Community and defeat the Chancellor once and for all.
Zoe should be happy. After all, she escaped the Chancellor and now escaped the dark hold the Community had over her. She won’t let the Link control her life anymore; she is free to feel whatever emotion she pleases. Oh, did I mention that Adrien, the boy she loves, is with her, too?
But, not everything is so picture-perfect. Adrien is detached, and suddenly the boy who laid his emotions out bare is no more. He’s keeping secrets, secrets that are so dark Zoe questions if she wants to know them or not.
They go to the Foundation, where other teen glitches train to fight in the Resistance. With her new team standing behind her, Zoe tackles challenge after challenge with..[]
Zoe was an okay character, but she annoyed me a bit more than she did in the first one. The other characters were alright, but i can't say i loved any of them.
The pacing was slow in this one again, and there was a few parts where i was bored. Thankfully, it never stayed like that all the time, so i still liked it.
Since The Hunger Games, no other book in the scifi/dystopian genre has been able to hook me as much as this one so I genuinely couldn't wait for this to come out.
Whilst a lot of trilogies suffer from having a weak follow-up, this one was just as strong, and I felt like I got to know the characters, and the world, much better.
Quick summary (SPOILERS):
In Override, Zoe is now with the Resistance, on the run from the Community. To complicate matters, due to the new allergens she's been infected with, she has to wear a body suit all the time otherwise she'll go into shock and die. Not only that, but she's having a hard time controlling her powers so she often draws trouble to herself and inadvertently exposes her location, forcing them to run again.
Eventually she ends up at the Foundation, a secret compound embedded in a mountain where she is able to live without her bodysuit. There she takes classes and trains to hone her glitcher abilities. On a failed mission to steal an object from the Chancellor, Adrien gets switched with Max, who poses as Adrien for over a month. He goes on a date with Zoe, which ends badly, and it's only after then she catches Max and realises what's happened. She must rescue Adrien from the Chancellor (and try to kill her at the same time), but when she does retrieve Adrien, he's completely and utterly broken.
My thoughts:
The stakes were maintained at a continuous high, keeping my pulse race throughout the entire story such that I was able to finish it in less than one day. It had a cinematic feel, and I can definitely see this being made as a movie one day.
Now that the world has been established, Heather is able to work more on developing her characters, especially when the pace of the plot slows down during the 'schooling' hours. It was good to see the conflicts between clashing personalities - how City feels threatened by Zoe's presence, Molla's hate for the girl that took away her love, and how Adrien's mother refuses to like or trust Zoe because she knows that she is bad for him. Xona's resentment towards Cole added to the animosity - because of a traumatic incident in her past, she can't see the Regulators as anything but cold merciless killers. All of these prejudices and conflicts are very real ones that we can emphasize with, and it was good to see them presented in a different setting.
I would've liked the side characters to be less one-dimensional and to have more depth, but overall, it didn't affect my enjoyment of the story.
The moments between Adrien and Zoe were sweet as ever - but like with the first book, I wasn't too invested in their romance because they as a couple didn't really jump out at me. Maybe it's because neither of them have had to fight for their love yet - what other reviewers have described as the love at first sight syndrome. Negative, yes, but I let it slide since I was more invested in the execution of the plot.
I found Heather's writing very enjoyable to read - none of her descriptions or scenes lagged, and she was able to maintain the sense of desperation and unease, even in scenes where relatively little happens. Her world was very easy to visualise, and I found the dialogue both flowing, and in line with the characters.
Overall, the ending of the book was such a big cliffhanger that I just could not pick up the next one.
I read Glitch about a week ago or so. As I stated in the first review, I was recommended by Anastasiu's college peer Elizabeth Welch (in case Anastasiu reads this review like she did the last one), and boy am I happy that she did. I've read a lot of books in my time, a lot of them being part of a series or trilogy. The Glitch trilogy is easily my second favorite, right behind Hunger Games. Congrats, Heather! You did it!
The action started on page one and didn't stop. And boy, do I want to say a lot of stuff, but I can't because I don't write reviews with spoilers in them. Literally, so much shit happens so quickly that I didn't put the book down. I read Override in less than six hours, thanks to today's lovely snow day in North Carolina. So many things were thrown my way, and Zoe was finally able to--nope, gotta stop. No spoilers.
AND THEN THE THING HAPPENS. I only make progress updates in between chapters. But on the page that the thing happens, I screamed and picked up my phone because OH MY GOD WHAT?!?!?! I wish I could talk about the thing. Ugh.
My favorite thing about this trilogy is that you don't see anything coming. I never once predicted anything that's happened in either of the two books I read--I guess the Rez wouldn't want me, haha.
I'm scared to start reading Shutdown because it's the last one. I don't want it to end. The book came out in 2013. I don't even know if Anastasiu is writing anything else right now. All I know is that these need to be movies, like, right now, and that I might just cry when I read the last page. I've grown so attached to the characters in all of a week or so. And because of the other thing that happened, I have not a shunt'n idea what's going to happen. Ha. Did you see what I did there?
I need more of my bookish friends to read these books so that I have people to talk about. There needs to be more of a fan base. WHERE YA GLITCHERS AT? I don't know if the fan base has a name, but if not, I just made it up. Boom.
Okay, this review has gotten way too personal. Which I guess is a good thing? It proves right there how into the books I am because they are SO EFFING GOOD. I'm going to go start Shutdown now and probably cry. Which is what I imagine Zoe to be doing in the beginning of the book.
This was an interesting story, but it did find that it dragged a bit in places.
I felt sorry for Zoe in this book. Even though she was supposed to have these wonderful powers, and was supposed to end up leading the resistance, she was so hindered by her allergies and her inability to control her power that she really wasn’t all that much use to anybody.
The storyline in this was okay, although I did find the pace quite slow. I did start to lose interest a bit towards the end, but thankfully there were some twists thrown in to mollify me slightly. I did like the romance in this story, but I seriously did not like the twists with regards to it. I cannot believe the author did that!
The ending to this was okay, I was ready for it to end though. The twist with regards to Adrien was awful, and I am so disappointed with this book in that respect. Overall; interesting story, but with some cruel twists, 6.75 out of 10.
I was lucky enough to beta-read this. Wow! Endless action sequences and plenty of twists. I loved how Anastasiu realistically portrayed Zoe as she struggled to control her powers. The climax is both shocking and fitting, and I cannot wait to find out how it all ends.
There’s something about Heather Anastasiu’s writing that calls to me. Override is the follow up book to Glitch, a futuristic story based futuristic societies and controlled thoughts. Once again Anastasiu brought me to the world that I was amazed by, managing to surprise me with her own twists and turns. What I loved about Glitch was renewed in Override, and I can’t wait to tell you why.
In Override, there is chaos, breaking free from the control that the government set into place. Zoe was hiding underneath the government’s noses, living in the walls until Adrien came back for her. Living outside and away from the control wasn’t a safe option for Zoe, being allergic to the atmospheric allergens. But plans never work out the way they were intended. Zoe must risk it all and escape. The Chancellor wants Zoe, for her own purposes and control. She will stop at nothing to get Zoe back. In true second book fashion, Zoe discovers what she is made of. She tests her beliefs and stretches out her power. When Zoe is now a part of something bigger, and she must do whatever she can to carry it out.
Zoe is still someone that I adored in this book. There was something refreshing about learning about emotions and feelings through Zoe’s eyes. Just being able to encounter all of these strange thoughts and feelings, must have been so different prior to her disconnecting. Her feelings intensify in Override, and not just for Adrien. Zoe finally has something worth fighting for and she won’t stop at nothing to get what she wants. I loved where Anastasiu brought her in the end of Override. It was well worth the wait.
It’s hard to talk about the characters without giving anything away, but I’ll do my best. I didn’t swoon as hard for Adrien in Override as much as I did in Glitch. He was a more absent and disconnected from the storyline, but with a very good excuse. He struggles with a choice and it alters the relationship slightly. Anastasiu introduces us to new characters, all with strong, individual personalities. They each had their own persona and added to the reasons why I liked Override.
Where everything in Glitch was uniform and controlled, Override was not. There were many elements that could not be controlled, and I’m not just talking about the plot. From the scenery and environment there were places and spaces that is newly introduced. It made for an interesting variable.
Anastasiu brought a lot of twists and turns, some predictable and some not. I enjoyed it all and thought it made for an easily flowing plot. There weren’t an abundance of elements that caused chaos nor were there too many personalities to get to know. It was balanced well and I was able to keep up with everything. I enjoyed it, I felt wonderful emotions, and at the end of the book, I wanted more.
Disclaimer: I was given a copy of this digital galley, free, in exchange for my honest opinion.
Did anyone read my review of Glitch? Well, this is not going to be the same. I liked this Override. Did I love it? Almost, but not quite. I have learned a valuable lesson in keeping an open mind when continuing a series, and to finish all review books. Yep, it’ll be hard and irritating, but you never know what will surprise. Where I didn’t feel Glitch was worth reading, Override definitely was. I couldn’t put this one down. It still had it flaws, but they weren’t so in-your-face. I was able to overlook them and get into them. That’s something I can appreciate, since it is hard to write the perfect story for more than one person. Override was redeeming to the series. I am once again looking forward to this series. There are only a couple of minor things that I didn’t like, so I won’t talk about those. I will talk about the major flaws that I saw. Of course, the first one is the romance. I get it, I really do, but gag! They are teenagers so their hormones are going crazy. Their emotions are still fairly new so they are strong and overwhelming. But, really? Come on! Is it really necessary to do some serious kissing and light touching, then sneak away and insinuate they’re going to have sex only to pull back at the last moment? At this point, either do it to get it over with or move on. Personally, the passion is too much for such young and naive people. I can understand the tension that’s being created, but there are much better ways to do that. The second major thing is the twist. Well, it sucked. It read as if it was thrown in there because Anastasiu didn’t know how to get to point A to point B with what was already happening in the story, so she just pulled something out of the air. What’s sad about the twist is two things. The first is the writing is better than that, she cut herself short doing this. The other is that this would have been an awesome twist, and an emotional pivot point in the story had it been believable. I won’t spoil it, but if there had been an earlier clue to put the possibility out there this would have been amazing. Now on to what I liked about it. This time, the characters had emotional depth. It wasn’t just because they were able to openly share and experience emotions. Each had a story and as it was shared, I was able to understand them a little better. With this understanding came a connection. There was a whole lot of action and second guessing. The pacing was strong and the storyline was engaging. Finally, Zoe. When I started reading and she was the same whiny, annoying glitcher I groaned and thought the books was doomed before I started it. But-she grew, she changed. She developed into someone who really stood a chance at being a hero. 3.5 Stars
Override is the much anticipated sequel to Glitch. I was introduced to Glitch when I signed up for the blog tour back in August 2012, and it revealed itself to be one of those books that was far far better than I had ever expected. So when I picked up Override there were some serious expectations that needed to be met. I will also confess that I was a bit apprehensive when starting it. As always when following a strong and engaging debut, there is always a hint of fear that the sequel will be great but perhaps not quite as much as the first. But rest assured fellow readers, because Heather Anastasiu well and truly delivered!
In Glitch Heather Anastasiu introduced us to a world where emotions are all but forgotten and kept under strict control by micro-chips. And those who by some miracle glitch out of the carefully controlled system are quickly fixed or disposed of as malfunctioning individuals. Having explored through Zoe the feeling of regaining emotions and truly appreciating them and what life would be without them in Glitch, Heather Anastasiu redirected her aim in Override. Whilst continuing to encounter new emotions and thus reminding and maintaing the concept of the novelty and fragility of human emotions, Heather Anastasiu gently but firmly moves her focus onto the next step for the Resistance, Zoe and Adrien: fighting for the right to keep those emotions and their love.
Heather Anastasiu's pace was relentless and gripping. Regardless of the type of scene, be it action or leisure, I felt myself speedily and easily reading through Override, eager to find out what happened next.
The story and the plot were very well built, and although I could foresee some of the twists coming I will admit (rather sheepishly) that this was probably due to the fact that when I wasn't reading I spent most of my time pondering every possible course of action for our characters. That said, there were still a handful of moments where my hand flew to my mouth as the unthinkable happened. But what I would really like to draw merit to, is Heather Anastasiu's wonderful style of narration and writing. It is fluid and seemless, and carries you through a complex story with a lot of factors without missing a beat in a simple but wonderful manner. It is difficult to describe and I think I may be doing a poor job of it too, but thus far the Glitch series has not only been a pleasure to read with regards to the storyline itself but also with respect to the means of narration. One that doesn't speed up and then stagnate depending on the scene, but one that fluidly carries you through to the end. An end that came almost too swiftly and now I am chomping at the bit for the sequel because I simply must know how it ends!
I don't see the direct comparison to The Hunger Games as some other reviewers stated. Yes, the genre is the same, but the concepts are immensely different. In The Hunger Games, the characters are subject to a digitally manipulated environment, but in the Glitch series, the digital manipulation happens in their own bodies. I loved this book! I hadn't had the privilege of reading the first in the series, unfortunately, but there wasn't any need. Most of the background and characters were fleshed out very well so that reading the first book was not necessary.
I was a little disappointed that Adrien and Zoe didn't keep their heated relationship at the same pace as in some places of the book as Adrien was either physically not present or thinking about other things, but I understand the need for it. I like the concept of chips being implanted in the human subject and giving them extraordinary powers as it makes you think about the current technology out there today and its ramifications should it continue on the same path. I'd almost wished that Taylor had made it to the end of the book because she wasn't as bad as you thought she was; which made her disappearance all the more sad.
Overall, the story is fairly fast-paced (with a few slower parts that were necessary) with an entertaining, dystopian plot that isn't overly technical or bogged down with the sci-fi elements. It is about survival and doing anything it takes to ensure that everyone can go on living normal lives. It's about saving those that have literally had their voices stolen by those they trusted. It's a bit of Enders Game mixed with Hunger Games, though the story certainly shines on its own with original concepts and compelling characters.
I received this book from a ŷ giveaway in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed above are my own and I was not monetarily compensated for penning this review.
Okay. WOW! This second installment is seriously out of this world. The characters ALL grow up. They mature. They're getting used to being in their own skin. Zoe starts to accept herself and not fear her powers - acknowledging that it's a part of her. And Adrien is just Adrien - AWESOME. LOVING. ROMANTIC. PERFECT (even in his imperfections).
I love that we get to meet more glitchers and see some awesome powers (gifts).
I really don't know what more to say. The plot was fast paced - never a boring moment - something is always happening somewhere. We get to see some of the older characters that we met in the first book, which is awesome. The new character we meet are well rounded and individualized making them singular and not just a mass blob of characters. The world building continues to be great. What I love about the description in Anastasiu's writing is that it's not TOO detailed - so it doesn't really pull you away from the plot - but it's not too vague where you don't even know what's going on. She gives you just the right amount of description to allow you to immerse yourself but at the same time she trusts that the reader is smart enough to fill in the blanks.
The relationships between the characters feel real. There isn't a moment where I felt like someone was being unreasonable in their interaction with the people around them .
I don't know how many times I'm going to say this but: THIS BOOK WAS/IS/WILL ALWAYS BE AWESOME!
I didn't enjoy reading Glitch so much as I thought I would but with Override, the complete opposite happened! I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised that upon finishing it, I was eager to have the third book on my hands. Override takes us on a more action-filled ride that pleased me a lot more than its prequel.
Zoe is outside now, training to be the so-called-leader that she is expected to become. But can she control her powers? The plot revolves a lot around this question and I loved to see how Zoe develops in Override. She is not so naive anymore and is faced with a lot of challenges and obstacles. There were so many things happening in this novel that I certainly couldn't put it down for too long. I found the plot to be a lot more captivating and the twists caught me mostly off guard.
As expected, the characters develop a lot since Glitch and we are also introduced to a lot of new characters. I enjoyed having more great characters to get attached to and they were a great addition to the series, in particular Saminsa and Ginny. Adrien is not so present in this one but I actually enjoyed that, even though he plays a big role throughout the book. Not to mention the Chancellor, she is one crazy woman.
Override was a great non-stop action read with many great twists and turns that will leave you begging for the last installment in this must-read trilogy. With many great new characters and an enthralling plot, Override should certainly be on your to-be-read pile of books!
If you have NOT read the previous book, GLITCH please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .
So, I want to say this would be rated around 4.5 but we aren't doing half stars (yet) so I guess I'm going with a 5. While I really enjoyed Glitch, I found that I found this book to be more. More of everything. In most cases, including this one, more is better.
In the beginning of the book, Zoe has to wear a suit so she doesn't have another allergy attack, one that nearly killed her in the first book. So many times you just wish she be rid of that damn suit so she could kiss Adrien. Well, at least that's what I was thinking. I was like, this is kissy time and that damn helmet is getting in the way of sexy times.
I have just finished the second book in the Glitch series by Heather Anastasiu and can't want to see what happens to Zoe and Adrien in her third installment coming out in July. At first I thought the story was a little dry as Zoe fought to control her telek power and Adrien his anger and inability to sort out the undercurrents and unpredictability of his visions. But the story line soon heats up when Adrien is snatched by the Chancellor and a spy is discovered at the Foundation. Zoe and members of her team must capture the mole and rescue Adrien at a cost they can't begin to estimate. It's a novel filled with suspense and action, of betrayal, self-sacrifice and unrequited love. New characters are introduced like Cole, the ex- Reg who finds his humanity, as well as other Glitchers armed with new powers that may help to win the war against a tyrannical government that controls the population with V-chips; a device that dampens human emotions. A YA series I highly recommend.
Compared to the first book, there were a few more original ideas in this book, so I added a star. I am still not very impressed with the main character, Zoe, and the conversation she had with the general about going on a mission to extract her brother exemplifies why I dislike her, and characters like her. Zoe runs in to the general's office to tell her that she needs to send a team out to rescue her brother, even though there is no evidence to suggest that he is in danger. The general points this fact out and adds that such a mission would cost lives of many soldiers who also have families. Does Zoe realize that she is wrong to ask people to die for her brother, who is not in danger? No, she is determined that she will find a way to get her way.
So, yeah, she's an immature brat.
But, I liked the twist (not TOO shocking), and I really like that the ending was unexpected. I also liked the addition of the character that no one could remember. What was his name again?
*SPOILERS* So, first of all, i fell in love with the series in the begining of Glitch so i got the other two books at the library. override was a great read and i felt like i was a part of the world. Zoe was a wonderful protagonist and her relationship with Adrien made me love the book even more. I would give this book five stars but once I got toward the end and found out that Max had been adrien for over a MONTH! I just couldnt take it. I was so pissed that I threw the book across the room. I was in tears for the rest of the book and at the end when jilian said that Adrien wouldnt be capable of emotions anymore I just lost it. After I finished the book I sat for about half an hour with the third book (shutdown) in my hands contemplating if I actually wanted to read it, im still deciding. anyway, the book as whole was wonderful, i just didnt like the ending. It was great seeing Zoe be able to progress in her power and also to be introduced to all of the other glitchers.
Loved it, the last 1/4 of the book killed me & that ending! The twist in this book was definitely not what I was expecting, so crazy! Can't wait for Shutdown, so glad I only have to wait a few months :) I love getting to see everyone's powers in action, so sweet!
Wow...I'm just speechless right now! I didn't want to put Override down at all! I loved it, yet I'm completely torn up about it at the same time. Shutdown seriously can't come out fast enough now! :p
THE ENDING MADE ME FREAKIN CRY, THIS LADY IS NOT TAKING OUR FEELS INTO CONSIDERATION!!!!! I MEAN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A HAPPY REUNION NOT A FREAKIN CRYFEST!!!! HEATHER ANASTASIU, YOU NEED TO MAKE SHUTDOWN COME FASTER!!!!!! (......hehehe I like caps lock!)
