When the crew of a deep space transport ship extracts a devilish-looking alien corpse from a frozen world, they unwittingly unleash a destructive force upon the galaxy. Only one man, the twin brother of the ‘Destroyer, has the power to stop the total annihilation of existence! Return to Armageddon (2000AD Progs #185-#218).
This is the planet-hopping kind of sci-fi I used to LOVE as a kid (and still do). Excellent artwork by the always-brilliant Jesus Redondo and a top- notch script by the underrated Malcolm Shaw (if you can ignore the somewhat cheesy final panel). I had forgotten just how nightmarish this story was in places. From the golden age of 2000AD, and highly recommended!
A really excellent piece of space horror. Redondo's art made this stick in my mind for decades. Returning to it for the first time since I was a teen I find it just as readable and engrossing. Well written and the art is excellent.
What a ride this was. So many ups and downs. Ups that were really good ideas and exciting bits but also downs that were really low. Art was solid all the way through, but the story could've been told much fewer pages. Still.... a bit of a forgotten classic from the 2000AD archives.
