“A romance that is food for the soul and a love story that is simply unforgettable. - Angie's Dreamy Reads

Have you ever read a book or series that has seeped so heavily into your veins, your body, your mind that you think of nothing else? A book that has filled every void, every fiber within your heart and soul. A book you could read again and again and again. There are some books that you could never get sick of. Some that the characters come alive and embed themselves into every pore of your being. Collide and Pulse is that series for me. It's a series that I breathe, think and dream about. To be Emily Cooper and to be loved by a man like Gavin Blake. To be loved in such a way that you are cherished, savored and consumed. To own another human being the way Gavin and Emily own each other. To live the experience she had. I want that. I need that. This book has created that in me. The need to live through every line, every word, every paragraph. The author writes so beautifully, so eloquently that every page is a beautiful experience and a journey that's simply unforgettable. I have a lot of favorite books. Books that I have absolutely loved but this series is my favorite. It's a series that I care deeply about. The characters have come alive in me and are my friends that I love and cherish. Pulse is an emotional journey. One that puts you through the ringer. One that will make you laugh, cry and swoon. It'll crush your heart, your spirit, give you intense heart palpitations and then put you back together. It's what I call a "book experience!" You’re not simply reading the story, you're living the story. Each and every part. It's a romance that's unforgettable. It's breathtaking and heart stopping. What I consider to be a MUST, MANDATORY AND REQUIRED READ!

* If you have NOT read Collide please stop here and go read it. This is not a spoiler review but there are things that will spoil Collide if you have not read it! *

Ok, so when we last left Gavin and Emily they were apart. Emily had left Dillon and rejected Gavin. It was heartbreaking to watch Gavin get his heart broken by the woman he loves and made me sick that Emily hadn’t provided Gavin with the benefit of the doubt that he did nothing wrong. With Emily's departure after she leaves the "asshole" Dillon we are left broken. Broken for Em, broken for Gavin but there's a flicker of hope. Hope that they still have a chance. Emily knows she made the wrong choice. She feels it in every, bone, pour and fiber in her body. She needs to get her man back!! And that's exactly what she does. She goes to get Gavin but Gavin's not home. Gavin's MIA.

After getting his heart broken Gavin needs to get away. He needs to escape from everything that reminds him of Emily. She has single handedly fucked him up. She's messed with his heart, mind and body and he simply can't cope. He decides to get on an airplane and head for Mexico where he can drown his sorrows and try to recover.

When Emily hears that Gavin's gone she books a ticket to go fight for the man she should have never let go. Determined to apologize and get him back she goes to the hotel Gavin's staying at and what greets her is intense. Things between her and Gavin are rocky (obviously). Gavin's not sure he can trust Emily and be with her. She's unequivocally broken him down and he's afraid that she's going to up and leave him for Dillon. The back and forth is angsty but all is made right or so we think. Just when things are getting back on track an unexpected situation arises and Dillon is thrust into their lives again. Life gets rocky and Emily and Gavin relationship goes through the unthinkable.

Can they move past all the new challenges with the baggage they hold from the past?

Can Emily give Gavin what he needs and heal her broken spirit at the same time?

Will Gavin be able to trust that Emily isn’t going to bolt when things get tough?

Can their love survive?

Get ready for a ride that is going to have you hanging on. Gail McHugh can write and she can write fantastically. You’ll be in book hangover mode when this is all said and done.

With all that said I want to talk a little about Emily and Gavin. Sigh....This is hard for me to write because I loved these characters so much. Emily...I know she got a lot of slack at the end of the first book. She was frustrating and at times you wanted to shake her but even through all that I loved her. I wasn’t overly annoyed or frustrated. I understood. I understood the way she felt, the way she thought and the way she processed her situations. Emily was a broken woman. She was a shell of a person. That happened over time throughout her life as the events that took place shaped her; the loss of her mother, the abuse she saw from her father to her mother and the slow decaying abuse of her spirit from Dillon. These are life moments that BREAK people. That's why her decision making was so flawed and that's why I was able to look past it and see a woman with potential. A woman looking for love and not knowing where to find it. She found that in Gavin but was scared. Scared to risk her heart. She takes the leap in Pulse and you can literally see her bloom like a flower opening one petal at a time. She grows and blossoms. It's beautiful and makes me teary just thinking about it. I can say with all honesty that she is my most beloved female character. She starts out weak but finishes strong!! She loves and inspires. She is for me a woman after my own heart and in her I see glimpses of myself.

Gavin! Oh sweet, sexy, bottle cap loving Gavin. I say this often because I think it's true. To me, Gavin is the perfect mix between Christian Grey (Fifty Shades) and Kellan (Thoughtless). He's the mega millionaire with a heart of gold. Sweet, seductive, possessive, smart, shmexy (lol) and just all around brilliant. He's the perfect catch. The kind of guy any girl would dream about bringing home to mom and dad. Gavin has a tenderness to him that really speaks to me and I think to a lot of woman. He can be an ass at times but under all that is a loving, tenderhearted, giving man. A man that would sacrifice himself for the woman he loves. Not only is Gavin (in my opinion) a sweetheart but he is a suave, smooth talking, son of a gun..lol! The lines..oh my..the lines out of his mouth are swoon worthy. He knows exactly what to say to a woman to leave her weak kneed and melty inside.

“We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It's ours. We own it. - Gavin Blake

“When I look at you, I feel like I’m looking at the other half of myself. You’ve filled the empty space in my soul, and because of that, you’re a Goddess to me. That’s the way I’m always going to treat you. For the rest of your life. I promise you that. - Gavin Blake

“I’m going to break you, Emily Cooper. I’m going to break you down and slowly build you back up. Second by second, piece by piece, and memory by memory. - Gavin Blake

See...he melts my inside like warm, silky milk chocolate. He's dreamy, absolutely dreamy. I love the way he loves and protects Emily. I love the way he defends her. The way he wants to posses her mind, body and soul. You can feel his intense adoration for Emily through his words and actions and there is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING sexier than that.

Overall this story is.... gosh, this story is ineffable. It’s a true romance. One that has ups and downs. I loved it. I loved every second of reading it. It's one of those series you'll savor and come back to time and time again. I also think it will become a series that is ingrained in your mind and will affect your future reads. It’s one that will be with you always. I wouldn't just recommend this...I would say HURRY, GO NOW, READ IT, SAVOR IT, ENJOY IT and get ready for journey that’s indescribably good. My rating is 5 MILLION stars.

This story is about more then a hot character that makes you swoon. This is a story about a broken woman who had the courage to leave an abusive relationship. A woman who finally realizes she's worth more then what she's allowed herself to believe. A woman who decides to risk it all and go after the one thing she really wants. A woman who decides that she deserves to be loved. This is a story about a man who no matter what is thrown at him doesn't give up on the woman he was made to love. A man who does everything in his power to protect, love, and comfort his woman. This is a story about strength, growth, trust, love and forgiveness.

This is a story that should be read by any woman who has or hasn't found themselves in an abusive relationship.

"Did you know one in three women wind up in a mentally or physically abusive relationship?" "But the funny part is, it doesn't start off that way. It starts off wonderful, as close to everything you imagined something solid should be. Then Little by little, the relationship changes, and you wonder if you're going crazy."

This story starts off where Collide left off of. We see Emily deal with the after math of her decisions once she finally gets the courage to leave Dillon. If you already didn't love Gavin then you will fall even further in love with him. He truly is perfect. It's an emotional story that will leave you breathless, will have you laughing and definitely will have you crying. This story is so honest, real and true.

It's so well written, and so brilliantly told you will not be disappointed. Gail thank you for writing this series. You really have no idea how many lives you will touch with this story and how many woman might realize they too are worth it after reading it.

I won't give you anything more because you honestly need to go into this blindly. I highly recommend that you pick up this book.

3.5 Gavin Lovin' Stars!!!

Firstly I would like to apologize to all my fellow GR friends who thought this book was a 5 star read; sadly for me, it just wasn't...

Since these two seem to LOVE countdown's...
Here's my countdown as to WHY...

One: Dramatics in the start of the book.
Yes Emily told Gavin she's marrying dickward Dillon and Gavin ran away to Mexico to heal his broken heart and threw his phone onto the runway. See the dramatics?

Two: Emily realizes she made the biggest mistake of her life; she faces her fears of flying and goes after him.

"I was ready to take that plunge and never look back. Never. I was ready to risk everything for you, to push away the overwhelming fear I had because I knew you and I are worth it. We fell in love in a second. I was barely able to blink, and you had my entire world upside-down. I was scared you weren’t real. I was scared no one could be as magnetic as you are to me. It still scares me. You still scare me.

Only to get there and professing her Love etc, he accepts and forgives her a little too quickly if you ask me.

"This is where we argued yesterday. I want a do-over so when you think of this road, this is what you’ll remember. Me holding you you staring into my eyes and us kissing.

Three: The undying love between these two.

Yes, WE ALL KNOW how much they loved each other, it was written on EVERYSINGLE page, we could.not.miss.it even if we tried.

"I want to break the rules with you. Kiss you passionately every day. Make you smile when you’re about to cry. I want no regrets with us. I want us to laugh together until we can’t breathe and it hurts. No man will ever love you the way I’m going to love you, Emily. You’re it. My last. My forever"

"I’m saying this because it’s said breaths are stolen during a passionate kiss. That’s not true, Gavin, because I literally can’t breathe before your lips even touch mine. I try, but I’m unable to. I can’t think when you look at me. You strip my mind bare. You always have, and it’s beautiful and consuming. It’s magical and everything a girl is supposed to feel. It’s said you’re truly in love with someone if your skin tingles from their touch. Mine tingles when I hear your voice; I don’t need you to touch me. I can feel you when you’re not near me. I feel you in my dreams. I felt you when you were a thousand miles away."

Four: Things were TOO good that you could anticipate something bad was going to happen because there was TOO much book left!

"Stay crazy, dangerous, reckless, and intoxicating with me. Just do it waking up by my side every morning.

Yes, I figured this was coming...

Five: Gavin's acceptance of this BIG revelation and again professing it UNDYING and forever love for Emily!

"I’m going to break you, Emily Cooper. I’m going to break you down and slowly build you back up. Second by second, piece by piece, and memory by memory, I’m going to make you realize you’re worth what I’m going to give to you. If I have to open a dictionary every day and make you stare at the word ‘worth, I’ll do it.

Six: Dillion the dickward!!! What a douche bag of note!

Seven: Random chapters which make no sense and are completely useless (if you read the book you know what I'm talking about)

Eight: The outcome at the end was expected and seriously Emily, you couldn't wait??

Reasons why it atleast got 3.5 stars:

One: Gavin (that's reason enough)

"When I look at you, I feel like I’m looking at the other half of myself. You’ve filled the empty space in my soul, and because of that, you’re a Goddess to me. That’s the way I’m always going to treat you. For the rest of your life. I promise you that. I fucking promise.

Two: The sex was Hot

Three: Olivia! Love this bitch!!!! She's awesome!

Four: Gavin (have I mentioned this ;) )

Its kind of sad that this wasn't better for me, again its the high expectations of sequels!

Ok I'm bursting with love.. (Insert sarcasm)

★★★★! Pulse (book 2). The conclusion of Emily’s story. Down to one man, but still a roller-coaster of misunderstandings, jealousy, betrayal, lust & an intense against-all-odds love!

“Do you know how scary it is to want something so bad you’re willing to change your whole life for it?

The triangle in Collide, book 1 has come to an end and a hero has emerged. I recommend you read this series as a set and in order:
BOOK 1
BOOK 2

Collide (book 1) followed Emily Cooper, who had just moved to New York to be closer to her stockbroker boyfriend Dillon Parker. While working as a waitress she encountered handsome mogul and playboy Gavin Blake and sparks flew. But Emily resisted Gavin’s attempts at flirtation only to shortly thereafter realize that Gavin is her boyfriend’s close friend and VIP client. We then followed them in a love triangle while both men vied for Emily’s heart and Gavin came out the victor.

Pulse (book 2) opens up right after the cliffhanger ending of book 1. Emily has made her decision she wants Gavin and now she only has to convince him she means it. Follow Gavin and Emily on a journey as they learn to trust each other again while building a relationship only to have it tested over and over again.

Gavin and Emily’s story is a rollercoaster filled with intrigue, misunderstandings, deceit, betrayals, jealousy, lust and love . Not surprisingly Dillon will play a part throughout this story as well. And just like in book 1 the story will keep you at the edge of your seat. Thankfully most issues are resolved quickly, but some shadow their story until the very end. I will say no more, their story is best experienced.

Gavin Blake is the perfect hero. We learned in book 1 that there is much more to his façade of the jaded, bored, ultra-rich playboy. He is sweet, caring, kind and oh so very patient. Six words to describe Gavin: Memorable, noble, intense, charming, captivating and shmexy.

“Third” he grinned and leaned into her ear— never in a billion years have couples fucked the way we do. We break records.

Emily Cooper is what the story needed to keep the drama going and though she annoyed me at times I kept reminding myself, she is what Gavin wants. Five words to describe Kate: Naïve, annoying, meek, endearing and kind.

“Caveman much?

The Collide series took me on a bumpy ride. But no matter how much Emily managed to annoyed me I was very much rooting for them and their HEA. While the writing was a bit long-winded and predictable at times I found it an enjoyable story!

Captivating plot! Perfect ending! Hot, shmexy and memorable hero! Overall an excellent read! Thanks Ms. McHugh!

“Little did she know then, a stolen moment, a sweatshirt, many bottle caps, and few layers peeled back later, her life would never be the same.

It's LIVE!

"Our past is imperfect,

but our future’s breathtaking.

description

Where to begin? I've been sitting on the knowledge of what was contained inside Pulse for a while now and it has been complete TORTURE not sharing it with the world.

I’ll start at the beginning.I read Collide and was irate with Emily Cooper's actions at the end of the book. I mean really? What the hell? Emily was on my most hated idiot female heroine list right under Keira from Thoughtless. I can now shout it from the roof tops that with 100% certainty Gail McHugh completely redeemed Emily and that this read was absolutely FANTASTIC!! Authors should take notes from Gail because this is how you write a sequel!!!!!

This book is so well done and well written that there is NOTHING I would change. Gail McHugh is one hell of an author and this book is a full 5 stars or more because the story deserves it. The characters evolved and grew although you may suffer heart palpitations, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Pulse starts off right where Collide left off. Emily walks out of Dillon’s apartment and decides follow her heart…Gavin. Sadly, Emily’s day late and dollar short. After spilling his feelings all over the engagement party Gavin heads out of town and off the grid to lick his wounds figuring that the wedding is still on. Right from the get go…Emily isn’t overly crying or indecisive she goes for what she wants and puts her heart on the line.

“Please forgive me for fighting against us in the beginning, Gavin. Please forgive me for not fighting for us when I knew we were supposed to be together.

I’m not going to spoil any part of this story so let’s say Emily doesn’t disappoint she becomes the heroine a reader can relate to and love.

Gavin was swoon worthy, heart breaking and completely kick ass. He has a realness that is so endearing that I think he must be somewhere in Manhattan and this reader just has to keep up the search for him.

”I’m going to break you Emily Cooper. I’m going to break you down, and slowly build you back up. Second by second, piece by piece, and memory by memory, I’m going to make you realize you’re worth what I’m going to give you.

Dillon is Dillon and all the supporting characters were well done as well. Go forth and click purchase because this is one sequel that doesn’t fall short but surpasses its predecessor.

"We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It's ours. We own it."

5 sexy and swoony stars!!!

After a killer cliffhanger, and waiting months and months for Pulse to be released, we finally get the conclusion to Gavin and Emily’s story.
‘Do you know how scary it is to want something so bad you’re willing to change your whole life for it?

Emily met Gavin Blake in ‘Collide. Emily was already in a relationship, and Gavin was not looking for a relationship, but for some unexplainable reason, they were drawn together. The feelings they had could not be ignored, no matter how hard they tried.

Due to some miscommunication and misunderstanding, things went a little crazy at the end of ‘Collide. Now Gavin is gone. Emily is miserable. She can’t function without Gavin and no one is able to reach him. Emily does what she has to do. She goes to find her man. She gets to him, and they try to mend their relationship. Emily doesn’t want anyone but Gavin, not ever.
God, Gavin, I’m yours. Forever. No one else.

Their reunion is quite memorable.

“I’m going to fuck you right now, Emily. I’m going to bring you so much pleasure you’ll never think about walking away from me again.

This book is HOT! Gavin Blake- DAMN. You are one sexy man! Sexy and sweet...

This is how I like to describe Mr. Blake...

“I want to break the rules with you. Kiss you passionately every day. Make you smile when you’re about to cry. I want no regrets with us. I want us to laugh together until we can’t breathe and it hurts. No man will ever love you the way I’m going to love you.

I wanted everything to be perfect for these two- after all they had been through, I think they deserved it. But Emily learns something that will change her and Gavin’s life forever. Complications arise, things become challenging.

Gavin loves Emily in a way most women would only dream of. He is willing to stick by her side no matter what. In a situation where most men would have taken off, or at very least been hesitant to see how it went, Gavin was 100% committed. He made this book for me! The PERFECT man- period. He loves Emily with everything he has. He cherishes her. Protects her. Takes care of her. He’s still funny, cocky as hell, and too hot to handle, but he also shows more of his sweet and swoony side in this book. Ladies- you will not be disappointed with Mr. Blake.

And Emily- book one she frustrated me to no end, this book, she didn’t. It was great to see her strength. She was much more likable and relatable. Olivia was still as funny and hilarious as ever, and Dillion was even MORE of an dickhead/douche bag, but I guess that was to be expected. In the end, I was very happy with how things turned out.

I love Gail’s writing, it just has a flow to it, I just couldn’t put this one down. This story was much different than Collide, but I liked it just as much. Both are amazing 5 star reads for me. A beautiful tale of making the best out of a not ideal situation, trust, forgiveness, strength, and most importantly-unconditional love. Can’t wait to see whats next from this author!

And I can't forget to mention the bottle caps... I love the bottle caps!

Okay so I'd been waiting for this book what feels like forever and thank god we didn't have to wait till August, cause I swore that's when it was supposed to come out. Was I NOT disappointed, this book was well worth the wait!

There's nail biting on the edge of your seat drama, laughter, douchebaggery, some great wiseass remarks, great ass kicking scenes and awesome lovemaking with and HEA/FEA. Oh and a Chapter that almost made me hurl my damn Nook at the wall, by the way THANKS for that Chapter Gail McHugh, you almost bought me a new Nook by the way!!! I was mind fucked by the Author on that particular chapter so be warned, it will blow your mind....

FYI I'm not giving anything away, I'll let you experience it on your own ;)

This book deserves more then 5 stars but that's all allowed, I give this book 5 beautifully sparkled stars. Great job on this series Gail McHugh.

"We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It's ours. We own it."

3 Stars

Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

I'm a fan of the first book of this series (). It was beautiful, with such emotional depth and enough angst. But I hate to say that the story kind of went downhill in this second and final installment. :(

First, let me cite the things that I loved about . I actually enjoyed the first half of the book because the plot was exciting. In the beginning chapters we can see a different Emily-- one who pursues Gavin, desperately asking him for a second chance after what she did in the first book. I admit I really loved it when Gavin did not immediately succumb to her but instead made her emotionally suffer first before he took her back. That was what I was looking for. Make Emily suffer in order for her to realize what a spoiled, insensitive girl she was. *evil laughs. I also loved how strong Emily and Gavin became after the things they experienced and how they were able to handle Dillon.

But of course I developed negative feelings for this book especially because:

> There was too much cheesiness. Don't get me wrong. I love cheese. But when it's overly done, nah. Give me a break! Most of the time Gavin and Emily kept reminding each other how much they love each other and it's already getting so annoying. Like, okay, I KNOW. Please.

description

> The drama was overkill. It went on and on and on... to the point where it already became frustrating.

description

> Too many unnecessary scenes. Yep. Especially sex scenes. I've had enough already. Can we just move on?

... and when I was like

description

I can say that Collide was a very good start but sad to say, the series' ending wasn't enough to give me the satisfaction. Yes, it has a good ending. Happy, even. But it didn't really captivate me. But despite my issues with this book, I still admire and her impeccable way of writing. She writes with emotions and she definitely nails an angst-ridden romance that will leave you breathless.

Sooooooo totally worth the wait!!! Once again, Gavin rocked my world! From sweet bottle cap moments to H-O-T sexy moments, this story had it all! Gail McHugh, you knocked it out of the park with this one!!! Love love loved Pulse! Can't wait to read what you write next ;-)

"Pleeeeeeeease Gail McHugh, write faster!!!! We will personally cook and clean for your family and babysit your kids if we have to, just so you have more free time to write Pulse lol!!! That may have sounded a teensy bit creepy.....ok never mind. Just lock yourself in your room and leave the kids with enough juice boxes and kraft mac n cheese to get them by while you write write write lol ;-)"

So...I didn't HATE it....but I definitely didn't LOVE it.

Mostly I was just....

Once Emily ran to Mexico in search of Gavin...it took like .2 seconds to take her dumb ass back! And then they spent the remainder of the book professing their love for each other...over and over and over again.

Enough already!!! Please! And the stuff they said to each other was at times SO lame and cheesy!!!

And then, as if that wasn't enough....OF COURSE Emily is

I mean....I'm trying to think. What was even the point of this book again?

Honestly (and as evidenced by the outrageous number of 5 star reviews) I think this is a case of "it's not you, it's me." I just hate books that are sequels. We are left with a cliffhanger ending and then by the time the next book rolls around I just....

But then when the author made us think that Gavin

That was just fucked up!!! If I wasn't already at 80% I would have just thrown in the towel.

Yeah, so this one obvs didn't work for me. But hey, I did like the part at the end when Emily bought the mini-van for Gavin!

"I’m pretty sure you were in my dreams before you walked into my life. I felt it the first time I saw you. You pulled at me. Took hold of my heart and never let go. Even if you had, I wouldn’t have let you. I wouldn’t have been able to. Something about you was familiar, and it scared the shit out of me but knew somehow we needed one another. I’ve never been a man who believed in any type of fate. I considered it fluffy bullshit in romance novels, but sitting down here for the last couple of hours, I started thinking about you and me. Our romance. Our Novel."

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose
When you kiss me heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose
When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom
And when you speak
Angels sing from above
Everyday words seems
To turn into love song
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be la vie en rose

And to you, Dillon

Then about 75% in something happens and you are thinking to yourself . NO! This cannot be happening .

Gavin, you need to drive like a .

Those of us of a certain age will GET the Doogie Howser reference

"You’re my world. My life. The air I fucking breathe. I can’t believe you’re going to be mine forever."

"Simply amazing. This girl named Molly you might know her but yeah, she stormed into my life and hasn’t stopped rocking my world ever since."

This book picks up right where COLLIDE left off. I don't know about you but I had a serious case of the ickkkks after that double dip at the end of book 1. So I called for an immediate mental do-over. I was not satisfied!

I loved Gavin. He was perfect. But he was a little too perfect in this book. If that's possible.

Which made me wonder....
Then made me worry....

When I get this spidey sense there's usually a kindle throwing moment at 75%......

You have a heart you wear on your sleeve, and you couldn't do a thing to make me fall more in love with you. Not a single thing.

.... nothing will stop me from killing you. Not the insane love I have for the woman you threw away will keep me from making sure you never take another fucking breath.

I loved every side. Every angle of Gavin Blake however he was showing more beta for me in this book than I prefer. I needed some caveman. Some parts he delivered ....oh yeah alpha extreme ..... Other parts .... Left me with the uggsss! Come on Gavin !! Go apeshit please !!! Uggggggggg!!!!!

Maybe it's my fault because I really wasn't in the mood for sugary sweet. I was seeking revenge for my feelings that were manipulated!
When the train wreck hit at ~ 75% I was like

What
The
Fuckety
Fuck
Was
That
And WHY ???

It ruined my exuberant mood !!! I was tears of joy then ........ Screeching halt ..... WHAT ???! Gavin !!!

I just want to be clear. I loved this book. Gavin did everything to makes this book. While I normally eat up sugary sweet I wasn't convinced of the cavity fighting protection here! My emotions were jacked- up at that what the ??? Moment. I was not a fan. Not cool. No. No. No. No. No. No.

So by the time I recovered, it was the end of the book!!!!! The last 15% I was awwwwwing out loud. I loved Gavin's happily ever after. Again, it was too damn sweet !

Still waiting for Dillon to get his just desserts. I still need some justice there. Jail-time, a broken toe, something !!!!!!!!! I am doing a mental re-do now.....and it involves this package to Dillon's package :....

Lets hope Dillon likes his departing gift... care of Anna

Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Anna. That. Is. All.

Well, I think Gail McHugh may have a mean streak hidden in there somewhere. There is an absolute gasp out loud Holy Fuck Moment in this book I think Gail knew what our reaction to that would be and has had more than her fair share of secret giggles over that one!! Well, Gail it definitely worked on me!! Colour me shocked!!

Right, back to the story we rejoin Emily straight after she has walked out on Dillon. She goes straight to Gavin but the man is AWOL. He’s decided to disappear, leaving his cell phone on the tarmac, desperate to hide away from the crushing despair he is feeling. He believes Emily has gone ahead and married Douchenugget and just wants to lose himself in a haze of alcohol and easy women. Dillon shows up in Emily’s life again before she can find Gavin and shows us, once again, why he really is the spawn of the devil. Emily eventually manages to track Gavin down and runs to him in an attempt to reconcile and the story moves forward from here.

I really loved this Collide and Pulse together have made this one of the best series to be published this year. I enjoyed every second, completely lost myself in the story and got to know Emily, Gavin, Olivia and everyone else intimately, like they were my friends.

It’s a beautiful story of emotional growth for Emily, a story of moving on, a story of stepping out of the darkness, blinking into the light it’s uplifting and powerful and, most of all, a story of all-consuming love and passion and an absolute determination to be together despite all the odds. Emily pulls out all the stops to throw herself at Gavin’s mercy, to beg forgiveness and to atone for what has passed and I applauded her for it.

Oh to be loved like a man like Gavin. I really do adore him! He’s still a Yankees-obsessed, bottle cap-giving wiseass but he’s so unbelievably charming and pantie- meltingly gorgeous. He’s all pure, primal, fierce and sexy alpha male and yet also incredibly tender, sensitive and caring. He wants nothing more than to soothe away all the hurt and make things right between him and Emily.

He cupped her cheeks, drawing her face closer to his. “I’m not sure you’ll ever understand, but I told you I need you more than I need my next breath. Since the day we met, from the second I laid eyes on you, there’s never been anyone else worth taking up a fucking inch of space in my mind. He stroked his thumbs along her lips, laying his own against her forehead. “God created me to love you. Let me heal the cracks in your heart. I know this broken woman didn’t exist before Dillon. I refuse to believe that.

He’ll do just about anything for her and wants nothing more than a beautiful future with her believing firmly that what has gone before has only strengthened the bond that they now share.

You told me once you thought you’d broken us. You didn’t break us, doll. You fixed us. Those bad minutes shaped us into what we are. They molded us into what we’re going to be together. We were written for one another, and I wouldn’t change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It’s ours. We own it.

Le Sigh!! I just melted for how much Gavin single-mindedly adored Emily and knew that she was the one for him and would move just about heaven and earth to make things right between them. He’s so romantic, charismatic, charming.

I loved this couldn’t put it down. It’s emotional and tense and there’s always a nagging feeling that it could all just go horribly wrong at any second and I so wanted them to find that Happy Ever After that’s never seemed quite attainable for these two. For both of them, despite the pain and sorrow of the past, they were just so ready to find love with one another and it’s now perfect timing after all those missed first encounters and chances.

Olivia is back, as colourful as ever with an incredible vocabulary of insulting names at the ready for Dillon nothing he doesn’t deserve. My personal favourite were Dillmonster, Duckleberry Finn, Dick-wad and Dumbledick!

4.5 awesome stars

I just can’t wait to see what Gail does next!

****4 Delectable Stars****

This Review is for both Collide and Pulse.

I must admit I like the first book Collide much better than this second one. In the first installment of this duet there was still a mystery factor that kept me enticed throughout the story but by the time Pulse was starting all the masks had fallen and I discovered the true nature of each character. Overall this was a very enjoyable story were Gavin was my favorite protagonist and his delicious Caveman personality won me over.

Gavin is a very successful businessman that after getting his heart broken has been all about working hard and playing harder. Lately he had been feeling like there was something missing from his life, so when he encounters the beautiful girl who is delivering his lunch he can't ignore the sparks flying the minute he set his eyes on her. Everything from her looks to her personality make him crazy with wanton, he can't control the need to make her his; the problem is she is already taken and by none other than one his best friends.

Emily had been dating Dillon for a while now and she's very much in love with him, so it's hard for her to understand the strong reaction she has every time Gavin is close to her. Gavin and Emily know that they shouldn't feel anything for each other so they settle for a friendship that with time will turn dangerous and hard to resist the carnal feelings it evokes in them. What happens when her boyfriend Dillon's mask starts to come off and Emily and everyone else around them notice he's not the good and honest man everyone thinks he is?

This story starts as a little bit of a love triangle, but then only true love will be the one to conquer. What will happen when Emily is finally able to be with the one man she truly loves, will it be easy for her to fight and win for the truth burning inside her heart?

As far as the story goes, it was very well written in my opinion. The characters were all well developed but that doesn't mean I was a fan of them all. Emily, I wish she could been stronger at times but I understood the role her past had played into her actions. Dillon, I absolutely hated; he will probably win first place on most annoying characters , ever. And Gavin, well, he takes the crown as most delectable Alpha Male. I really enjoyed this story and for sure I will recommended it to all my friends.

Gavin Christopher Blake aka Mr. Tall, Dark and Fuckable Handsome!!! You are the definition of perfection. You are a perfect friend, perfect boyfriend,
You're simply the best!!! And I liked you a lot... :)

I know you're not real but in my dreams you are.. So, I can lick your dragon tattoo as long as I want... Yeah, yeah I'm a very, very naughty girl. :D

------------------------

“I want to break the rules with you. Kiss you passionately every day. Make you smile when you’re about to cry. I want no regrets with us. I want us to laugh together until we can’t breathe and it hurts. No man will ever love you the way I’m going to love you, Emily. You’re it. My last. My forever.

“I’ll only ever worship these lips. I’ll only ever worship this body. Gripping the back of her neck tighter, Gavin deepened the kiss. “When I look at you, I feel like I’m looking at the other half of myself. You’ve filled the empty space in my soul, and because of that, you’re a goddess to me. That’s the way I’m always going to treat you. For the rest of your life. I promise you that. I fucking promise.

“I love you, Emily Cooper. He paused, looked at the ground, then back to her. “I think I loved you before I knew you existed.

“God created me to love you. Let me heal the cracks in your heart.

“Each time you look at me the way you do, lay a shaky hand on my body, or your soft lips touch mine, you make me thank God for being a man.

“I'm pretty sure you were in my dreams before you walked into my life. I felt it the first time I saw you. You pulled at me. Took hold of my heart and never let go."............."You were never supposed to be with Dillon. You were always supposed to wind up with me, but fate interrupted us for awhile

“I can’t promise you it’ll always be sweet and tender because you and I fight hard. But I’m pretty sure it won’t be a horror ride either because you and I love even harder. What I can promise is you’ll always mean more to me than my next breath, and it’ll always be you in my life. No one else.

“When I look at you, I feel like I’m looking at the other half of myself. You’ve filled the empty space in my soul, and because of that, you’re a Goddess to me. That’s the way I’m always going to treat you. For the rest of your life. I promise you that.

Collide gave us a new book boyfriend, the swoon some and deliciously HOT Gavin It also gave us the cliff hanger from hell!!! I was desperate to get my hands on the sequel!! After much anticipation I was so happy to reconnect with Emily and Gavin and live out their happy ever after. (Well I hoped they would get a hea!)

I love the theme of fate running through this story, the idea that there is someone for everyone, you just have to wait for your paths to cross at the right moment and if you miss your moment, there will always be another chance.

I LOVE that and believe in it!!! Yes, I'm a romantic at heart

The other major theme is domestic violence....
"Did you know one in three women wind up in a mentally or physically abusive relationship?" ~ Emily
This was dealt with extremely sensitively and in a subtle way throughout the story, adding to the emotion of it all.

"Gavin Blake .....You're gentle. You're kind. You're strong and witty. You're personable and warm. You can reduce most females into blithering puddles of goo with the simplest words."

Gavin is adorable and gorgeous and so very, very sweet.

Are you swooning???

He also has very gifted fingers and, "...a very talented tongue." Oh yes!!! Ladies, he knows how to please which makes for a smoking HOT read!! Fabulous!!

Gavin and Emily have a HUGE amount of LOVE for each other....it oozes off the pages beautifully and the writing and sentiment is really quite stunning and profound in places.

"Our past is imperfect, but our future's breathtaking." ~ Emily Beautiful words

For me personally, I would have liked a little more angst and some more conflict to make the reunion so much sweeter. It was all moving along so nicely (maybe too nicely?) I was waiting for an aghhhh moment....I felt like something drastic was going to happen....there was a WTF moment that made me cry (I can't say anymore about that without spoiling the story) but....well everything else was just lovely and wonderful......I loved the whole drama with

All in all I would say if you loved Collide then you have to read this because Gavin is simply divine and the love between the characters is immensely beautiful.

If you haven't read Collide....what are you waiting for it's AMAZING!!!!!!

Bottle Tops and Twenty Questions create some very memorable, sweet moments....if you've read Collide and Pulse then I need say no more.....ahhhh.....sweet memories *Sigh*

Okay, give me a moment to breathe.

description

This was so, SOOO, good. I’m not completely recovered yet, so I’ll probably have some trouble doing this review. Mainly, because I have no idea what to say except: awesome.
The book started right after the end of the first, when Emily finally got some sense in his head and left Dillon and gone to fight for Gavin.
She knows that she was stupid and did a lot of things wrong, she knows that Gavin probably won’t take her back, especially when she did a lot mistakes. But damn, if she isn’t going to try.

description

But Dillon’s ghost is still very present and when something happens they’ll will have to fight harder than ever (which isn’t easy) for their relationship.
And this “little thing has the power of getting them together or make them falling apart for good.

description

I loved this book even more than the first one. I didn't know that would be possible considering that the first one was real great.
It wasn't as much angsty (thank god!), but it was way sweeter and romantic. And the steam was better. Believe there was a lot of “shmexy scenes.

Emily really redeemed herself in my eyes and she had a great attitude through this whole book
Gavin, well was even more perfect than before. *le sigh*

description

The supportive characters were great in this book as well, probably more than in the first even. Did I already told that I love Olivia? For some seconds she really pissed me off, but other than that she was as great as before.
Dillon was the exactly same asshole he was in the first one. Probably even more. Luckily he doesn’t appear as much as in the first. But all the times he appears were that number of times too many. Stupid asshole.

description

Well, I can only say that this was an amazing ending for a perfect series. I loved the conclusion, loved how the characters ending, loved everything.
I was great to get to know Molly’s and Mrs. Tall, Dark and Fuckable Handsome’s story. I’ll re-read them a lot of times, for sure. :)

One of my favorite book has a sequel and I am so excited to share with you my opinion about it.
Collide was awesome in all the right places and I fell in love with Gavin and Emily almost immediately, because as a couple they are intense and sweet.

The last chapter from Collide managed to cut my blood circulation and I was hungry to read Pulse.. I was so sorry with what happened to Gavin and really mad at Emily for making this happen. Now, we embark in a very adventurous attempt to get Gavin back, and I am all aboard with it.

Emily needs Gavin forgiveness and heads out to find him. You have to read the book to find out what happens next, but it is worth every page. At the beginning, he find a wrecked Gavin, that lost all hope in being with the woman he loves. He is not very confident in their love, and very afraid that Emily will leave him again. A second attempt may destroy him completely.

description

From my point of view he forgave her too easily.. I mean.. She dumped him without accepting a justification, without talking to him, rushed the marriage plans she has with her boyfriend and just shut him out. I was extremely sad to witness Gavin's hurt and just so mad at Emily.. She should have been more mature and not fall victim to anger and hurt. But leaving this aside, I thought that Emily will grow on me again, and just be patience to see how the action develops.

Gavin, if possible, is even more amazing than in Collide and made me fall in love with him even more. He deserves 90% of the rating that I gave to this book, because he is perfect. He doesn't want want to be away from Emily anymore and will do anything to keep her, to protect her from the ones that want to harm her. He is so confident and determined to show her the bright future they have ahead, and he is just perfect. Half through the book, we are faced with a twist that felt us OMG, and in this situation we she what a great and lovable man he is.

He is willing to except anything from Emily, if it means being with her forever. There is something you don't find every day and spoke to highly about him. I hope he exists in real life and that some girl gets to enjoy him:)
I found a more mature Emily, a more determined and confident one, that managed to keep her fears aside and confront her problems. She made a great team with Gavin and I was happy that all the fears were gone between them.

I enjoyed how the plot developed, the twist that blow my mind away and made a very good subject to focus on. The mystery behind it was a stroke of genius for Gail's part and added to the drama of the series.

Everything was perfect beside that one chapter that took like 5 year of my life in just 10 minutes, and after reaching the next one, 5 years more to adjust to reality. I mean, it was that necessary? Never mind.. I love this book with everything in it and totally recommend it for the awesome hero, great plot and extremely intense love scenes.. augggh..

5 AWESOME STARS FOR STORYLINE.
3 STARS FOR LITERARY ANNOYANCES.

Can I just start out by saying Gavin is perfection, ladies? This man delivers it all.....hot sexy tattooed body hidden by his Armani suit, successful, sweet, a touch arrogant, humorous, and loyal to the end.....swoon.

My Gavin-

Pulse starts off on the heels of the cliffy we all endured in Collide. Don't read further if you've not read Collide as it has some spoilers. Dillon was a total douche and Emily has walked out on him the eve of their wedding. Emily can't marry that man. He's a monster. What a huge mistake. Is it too late to get Gavin back? Can she find him since he walked out at the rehearsal dinner? Will he slam the door in her face? She's sure going to try.....

My Dillon-

My Emily-

Huge things happen throughout this book and no spoilers here. It's vague but their story has to be experienced as it comes. Even if some of those events made me want to throw my kindle against the hardest wall I could find.

What I loved about this book-

-The love story. I loved the progression of everything. It was well paced, the sex scenes very erotic and captivating. The character development of Emily, Gavin and Dillon was all stellar. I mean, Gavin surely stole the show but how can he not?

I loved the cutesie little "inside jokes and games" between Emily and Gavin. It was realistic and endearing.
My highlights.....

-The ending was PERFECTION. Loved loved loved it.

Now to be the buzz kill....

What I detested about this book-

-The annoying overuse of similes. I mean EVERYTHING was "blank like a blank...." It just reminded me of my high schooler's English papers. Trying to add that but it just was overused and strange. I highlighted a few as an example...

"Gavin's mouth coated her's like a glaze of honey."
"His heat surrounded her like a heavy down comforter."
"Her words zipped from her mouth faster than a shot of lightning"

I mean, like multiple similes in one page. It was just excessive and distracting.

-Second, there was a fair share of typos and grammatical errors. To the point it annoyed me. I can skim past a couple but beyond that, get a BFF beta reader prior to publication!

-Third, and what made me go batshit cray-cray was the scene towards the end. Do not hit the spoiler unless you've read the book! Or maybe you should as it may save you the anguish and anger I felt with this author.

Third, although this book had a bit less of the overuse of drama and angst, it still used EVERY twist we see in other storylines to add angst. It got old. I saw EVERYTHING coming. Shoot, the main plot twist (ya know, the "little tidbit" I'm referring to if you read this book) I saw coming in the first book. It was just way too predictable.

Fourth, and I hope it's not too picky but the use of Massive Attack's "Angel" as a song he listens to while thinking of her....Um, that's been used in two other romance novels in the past couple years. Find something new...not another author's song choice. Good song, just not original.

Yes, it sounds as if my negatives outweigh my positives but they really don't. Did they annoy me? Yes. They just hugely prevented this book from being one of my favorites of this year. And sadly, easily prevented on a literary standpoint. The story was SPECTACULAR. I shall miss Gavin.....

I absolutely loved reading these books again i fell right back in love with Gavin and Emily’s turbulent relationship which had me feeling all kinds of raw emotions.

This talented author sure knows how to write an intense fabulous story that had me turning pages until the wee hours of the night.

I just hope one day Gail Mchugh will come back to write and release some more phenomenal books because her natural talent for writing shouldn’t be wasted. Gah please come back!!!

I am one of the lucky ones that received this perfect gift of a book early. OHHH MYYY GAWWDD! This book blew me away! After the ending of Collide I thought that I was going to die...JUST DIE!! And I prepared myself for heartache and pain, angst...lots and lots of angst. And although there is all of the above in this story, it is also a beautiful tale of love, sacrifice and redemption.

I can't say much more than is was AMAZING and I feel more in love with Gavin Blake (you ask how is that even possible?? IT IS!!) 5 FANTASTIC STARS FROM ME!

Can I just say I looooove Gavin? He is the ultimate book bf - Sweet, sexy, alpha, wiseass, shmexy, swoon-worthy, bottle cap tossing, Yankee lovin bundle of awesomness!

I loved the romance in this book. I truly loved how Gavin picked Em up and never let her forget how much he loves her. He did it not only in word but action. Truly, one of the best book romances ever. Even though at times it was sticky sweet. It just seemed to fit.

Why didn't I give this 5 stars? The Dillon situation, It just didn't feel ended to me.... there was something I didn't like about him being left standing...I wanted more suffereing for the bastard after all he did to Em.

Truly, this is a great follow up to collide. It feels like we waited forever, and Gavin and Em's relationship is one for the ages. Just loved it.

Think we will get a book for Trevor? Olivia? Maybe we will get more of this wonderful couple in the future... I kinda want to know more ;)

Also, on a side note..... Brooke, who ever you are, that was soooooo not funny! Talk about heart stopping? HOLY CRAP! Just cold. Well done :)

5 Stars (Originally Read 4/8/2014)

DNF (Re-Read 3/16/2019)

Welp....so that just happened 🤦🏻‍♀ I couldn't stand the h, and while I liked the H in the first book I ended up not liking him that much in the beginning of this one. I'll be honest here -- I didn't read all that much because I started skimming heavily once we (pretty much instantly) got to the too much repetitive inner dialogue again. I did see that we have that would've all bugged me had I fully read this again.

This was another example of how my tastes have drastically changed as I rated this 5 stars the first time I read it! There are also plenty raving reviews from other readers that loved this, so it very well could be me and this horrible book funk I'm stuck in...

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR BOOK #1!!!

Read Collide (Collide #1) review here:

Soooooooo good!!!!

Honestly, this series had be completely hooked! I really don't know if I preferred book #1 or book #2. They were both phenomenal and so different.

Whilst Collide was angsty and frustrating, Pulse was heart warming, full of hope, despite the heartache, deliciously sexy and just a total page turner.

Pulse picks up right where Collide ended. We begin with Emily as she follows through on her decision to leave Douchebag Dillon, in pursuit of our lovely Gavin. And we're off. And whilst Gavin continues to be amazeballs, Dillon continues to be a complete prick!

"I loved you, and you became everything you said you never would!"

Gavin and Emily's reunion wasn't a wham-bam-thank-you-m'am. But it didn't drag out. Thank God. I was worried that the whole of Pulse was going to be Gavin twoing and froing about whether he wanted Emily back. Of course, bridges had been burnt and trust had been broken, so it wasn't all smooth sailing, but it wasn't without it's heartache.

"After I'm finished fucking you, I'm going to make love to you. From the minute my body touched yours, there was never going to be anyone else. I'm in love with you, but I have to fuck you first. Do you understand me?"

At about the 30% mark I was loving it, but thinking, okay, this is good, but I kind of feel like we've come to a conclusion right now... how wrong was I?! Jeez, poor Gavin and Emily really can't catch a break!

I was totally blindsided by the plot for this book. Shit a brick! I really didn't see it coming. I don't know why, looking back, now I know, I can totally see the clues... but anyway, I didn't guess and I was shocked.

I felt so sorry for Emily. She hadn't done anything wrong and yet she finds herself in an absolutely devastating situation. But, hey, I'm not in love with Emily, so whilst I felt for her, my heart just shattered for Gavin. Ohhh, my poor poor baby. :(

I loved the solidarity between Gavin and Emily in this book. They talked, they communicated, they dealt with situations as best they could, like rational adults, despite the shitty hand they were dealt. It was so refreshing! There was no ridiculous over reactions, no miscommunications, no petty issues... the problems they faced were real, heartbreaking and the whole things just made me want to fangirl all over Gail McHugh!

"We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It's ours. We own it."

I think I might have mentioned, that I love Gavin... but just incase you didn't get that memo. I fucking love Gavin Blake! Okay? He's perfect. Like, in such a way that he has flaws, is over protective, flies off the handle sometimes, totally stole his best friend's girlfriend, but is still just perfect. And let's not pretend we're not impressed by the size of his... bank account! (Get your mind out of the gutter, ladies!) It makes me sad that we can't conjure him up, using our imagination, into a living, breathing, real-life human being! These book boyfriends could really begin to depress a girl if we're not careful.

"I want to break the rules with you. Kiss you passionately every day. Make you smile when you're about to cry. I want no regrets with us. I want us to laugh together until we can't breathe and it hurts. No man will ever love you the way I'm going to love you, Emily. You're it. My last. My forever."

Emily is so very broken in this book.

She's suffered a helluva ordeal and it's taken it's toll. And seeing Gavin build her back up, restore her self worth, convey his adoration for her, is just breath taking. He's so determined that she won't come to any more harm. *swoon* I love it. I know, that's all I keep saying. I love it. I love it. I love it.

"I'm so sorry. I'm sorry that out of any girl in this world you couldn't fallen in love with, you chose me."

There was one scene in this book that made me cry happy tears like a little bitch!! Oh, the sweetness was just off the freakin' scale. It was two o'clock in the morning, I was blubbing like an idiot and Mr. Smitten rolled over, looked at me like I had three heads, rolled his eyes, said 'Can you cry a bit quieter please?' and went back to sleep. I continued to sob through my big stupid grin! I cry at books quite a lot when they're sad, but I can't recall many books that have made me cry happy tears. It's just that damn beautiful to see Emily and Gavin find some happiness after all of the ugly they endured.

"I didn't think it was possible, but I'm more in love with you now than before. You've rocked my entire world, Emily Cooper."

And lastly, but absolutely definitely not least, holy hotness!!! There are some sexy as hell scenes in this book. The car scene! Oh my Christ!!! Phew.

Oh, wait, I know I said 'lastly', but, just quickly... The epilogue is entitled Molly and Mr. Tall, Dark and Fuckable Handsome's Epilogue ! I love that! :D

Right, do you think I should probably stop typing now? I mean, if that review hasn't sold it to, I'm think you're pretty un-impress-able! I could go on... but I don't think it's necessary. There's a lot of heartache, and Collide is maddening beyond belief at times. You will want to push Emily in front of a bus at various intervals and Dillon just needs castrating from the beginning... but it's so totally worth it. Pinky promise!

With an equally devious brow lifted, Gavin ran a hand through his messy hair, and leaned back against

the headboard, the grin on his mouth wide. “These gifts wouldn’t happen to include a black laced

ensemble worn by you, double ‘A batteries and your ‘shmexy legs shaking uncontrollably around my

head, would they?

Eyes wide, Emily belted out a laugh. But shit if he didn’t look hot, waiting for her, shirtless no less.

She swallowed, suddenly aware of the throbbing between her legs. All humor left her face as she

slowly crawled onto the bed. With the bag in one hand, she took the other and slightly lowered his

sweatpants. She rained kisses along his hip, following his glorious tattoo all the way to the side of his

left rib cage. Sighing in pure contentment, she moved her lips back down over every delicious peak and

dip of his washboard abs. She felt Gavin tense, his muscles tightening. He buried his hands in her hair

as she hovered, lightly skimming her tongue along the edge of the evil looking beast’s wings. In all its

evilness, it tasted like the sweetest cotton candy in her mouth.

Emily brought her eyes up to his, their light, blue sexual intensity shocking through her system. She

smiled. “So you never told me why you got this particular tattoo on your body.

Gavin blinked, a rush of puffed air escaping his mouth. “Are you honestly going to ask me that after

you just achingly licked your way up my body?

“What? Emily giggled, straddling his waist. Looking down at him, she frowned. “I want to know,

Gavin. You told me why you got it where you did, but you left out why you picked a dragon.

Eyes zeroed in on her lips, Gavin smirked. “I got the dragon because I knew women would never

ever ever be able to resist licking over it.

Emily playfully swatted his arm. “You bastard. Are you saying I’m not the first to lick it?

In one quick movement, Gavin slipped his arm behind her waist, flipping her onto her back.

Emily gasped, her heart nearly stopping as he hovered above her, lightly brushing his mouth against

hers. “Oh my God, she breathed. “I was right. You are crazy.

“And you’re trying to kill me with your questions, Gavin countered, now nipping at her bottom lip,

which she started to realize was something he loved to do. “You’re no longer allowed to say the

words ‘lick it while in my presence. Is this understood, Miss Cooper?

His demand drifted over her like a caress, however, she was about to push a few buttons. She popped a

brow, her mouth curled into a smirk. “Lick it Caveman.

It's been 6 months, 25 weeks, 181 days, 4344 hours, 260,640 minutes, 15,638,400 seconds of waiting for Pulse to come out....

How i was feeling at the end of Collide....

**

This is the second and final book in the Collide series. I have to be honest....i was completely devasted at the end of Collide. I had no idea it had a cliffhanger...these books need to come with a huge warning label to let us know. So, the 6 months was tough, but definitely worth the wait. In case you don't know...this is the story of Mr. Schmexy Gavin and Emily. Gavin was PERFECT, HOT, AMAZING, SWEET, LOVING...need i say more? I'm so, so, so HAPPY with the ending and if you like angst, love triangles, alpha males, and happily ever afters, then i recommend you read this series!! If anything else, you will fall head over heels for Mr. Gavin Blake...win/win lol

“I can’t promise you it’ll always be sweet and tender because you and I fight hard. But I’m pretty sure it won’t be a horror ride either because you and I love even harder. What I can promise is you’ll always mean more to me than my next breath, and it’ll always be you in my life. No one else.

5 Shmexy-Swooning Stars

If you need only one reason to read this series, let me give it to you-

He is PERFECT, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. He is a man that is so in love, that he will do whatever is necessary to stand by the woman who he loves, Emily. He has enough conviction, love, passion, desire, heart, and sexiness to make you swoon for days, yes, days!!

Emily has done a lot of growing up in this book. She spends a lot of time apologizing for not listening to her mind and heart about her prior relationship, the one that almost robbed her of her future happiness with Gavin.

They do get back together relatively quickly but I loved it because the relationship between Emily and Gavin is a beautiful read. Gail McHugh writes from the heart and makes the love between Gavin and Emily come alive. There were so many passages that made me cringe, cry, swoon, melt and truly experience their passion. Thank you Gail for making this a phenomenal series in my eyes, even with the WTF scene that I forgive you for.

"You told me once you thought you'd broken us. You didn't break us doll. You fixed us. Those bad minutes shaped us into what we are. They molded us into what we're going to be together. We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, and the in between. It's our. We own it."

There were so many memorable passages that I could quote for days so my recommendation would be to read this series asap!! Gavin Blake is one Hot, Shmexy, Walking Wiseass, King of Swoon!!!

Oh sweet Gavin, I adore you and your bottle caps.

Gavin is a sexy, intelligent, powerful, cocky, yet gentle soul. Each time he calls Emily “doll or "sweets", I swoon. What I admired most about Gavin was how he stood firm by Emily's side, even after she totally shattered his heart. All his sugary sweetness gave me a toothache. I craved for him to possess a more alpha personality, but loved him regardless. Gavin Blake is the epitome of the perfect book boyfriend.

At the end of “Collide, I was ranting and screaming…Emily, get your head out of your ass! Dillon…you are a huge Dumbledick son-of-a-bitch. Ugh, what a frustrating ending and I could not wait to read the continuing love story between Gavin Blake and Emily Cooper.

The story line in "Pulse" took an unexpected turn for me. I did not envision the way the story played out at all. I was pleased none-the-less (Except for Dillon - I want revenge…grrr! I wanted to see him hang from the highest rafter).

description
Emily’s character surprised me. After all the experiences she had endured by the hands of Dillon, she grew to be strong-willed and did not crumble. Her strength comes from within, but also from Gavin.

description
Gavin's persona amazed me as well. His love for Em changed him, from a playboy to a dedicated boyfriend. I was in awe of his determination to move their relationship forward, despite all the trials and tribulations they suffered. He was unwavering regardless of Dillon’s efforts. It is his undying love for Emily that gave Gavin the fortitude to put back the pieces of her broken spirit.

As fate steps in and plays a role in turning Emily's life upside down, it is Gavin that holds the key to her happiness and hope. Gavin's forgiveness is a blessing to Emily.

“You make me feel like I’m in a dream,...Like I’m sleepwalking and I don’t even know it. “I’m able to close my eyes and just trust you. You’re the color on my blank canvas, the light in my dark, the air in my lungs, and I almost let you go. I almost erased us from ever happening. I can’t imagine not having you here with me. Please tell me you know how much I love you, Gavin. I need to hear it right now. Please.

Gavin is a sexy, hopeless romantic. He has such a sensual way with words that are panty melting. His proclamations of love, as well as his actions, touched my soul.

description
“Emily Cooper, the only thing you have to fear is how much I’m going to love you for the rest of your life. And how many times I’m going to make those legs shake."

description

“Look at me, Emily... Right there, doll. You said every look I’ve given you was without judgment. Well, every look you’ve given me is untouched, pure in all it is for my eyes. You look at me like you’ve never seen a man before. There’s no way for me, as a man, to ever explain what that feels like. He reached for her hand and laid it against his heart. “You said every touch I’ve given was without judgment. Every time you touch me, your hands shake. You have no idea how that makes me shake. I’m not talking sexually, either. You shake everything I’ve ever know myself to be.

O.M.G....Sigh.... Gavin - how can I not love you?

This story had it all..... Angst, steamy love scenes, immense sorrow, boundless joy, nail biting moments and a happily ever after that swelled my heart. I could not put this book down and I long to see what Gail McHugh has in store for us next.
