There are pirates in dem dar stars! After Jason's arrest for interfering with the development of the Wakipee, Catie and Marc are left with two mysteries to unravel. Leaving her father to find the source of Jason's arrest, Catie begins to trace the path of the aliens responsible for abducting people from Earth to create Helike and Waspara. While unraveling this mystery, Catie encounters pirates, leading them to another league of planets which is larger than the Delphi League and wilder at the same time.
Bob Blanton has been an avid reader ever since his mother first took him to a library at age five. He has toyed with writing for years since college but was always too busy to start a novel. The "stone series" developed almost by itself as he was trying to sleep on long flights to Asia and Europe. He managed to write it and two follow-on novels while he was working, but never had the time to polish them. After he retired to the beach in Mexico, the only thing that competes with writing is the sound of the ocean and sunsets over the water. Now that he has published his series, he hopes you enjoy reading them as much as he has had writing them. Check back for other books as he continues to ply his new trade.
Now that he has published his series, he hopes you enjoy reading about Matthew and his developing powers as much as he has enjoyed writing about them.
I enjoy science fiction even if the science isn't 'hard.' This series is an interesting diversion and an easy read. There didn't seem to be as much at stake in this edition however it still moved along nicely. I look forward to the next book.
This installment starts by bring the previous book’s storyline to a close, finding a resolution and then sending this book off in three new directions. Several detailed conflicts are part of the plot, along with the requisite snark and humor between characters. Good plot development, and while some new characters are introduced we don’t learn much about them initially. This book ends with most story threads resolved, and a few new ones proposed for the next installment.
I like Catie as a character very much and was very pleased this novel at least focused on personal merit, equality and stopped the repeated political knocks toward half the USA. (ie the war mongering, outrageous, Trump like president presented in the earlier novels, which is funny as Trump was the only president not to start new wars, though yes his personality is abrasive and needs to stop the tweets).
Anyway earlier novels always felt like CNN lecturing me with references and snubs, when all Americans who aren't polarized simply want equality for all and be left alone and able to prosper. So I was very happy this series who's characters I enjoy returned to a more sci-fi, humanity putting it's best forward and growing together while facing challenges tale, the alt history of seeded lost colonies was very enjoyable.
The Delphi League has found the expansion plan that the Aliens who seeded Heleki and the new human world just discovered. As they try to introduce new things to the Wakipee and the other continent which is more advanced, more major discoveries are made. An exciting development in the Delphi in Space series. Great plot lines and characters. I read it in one sitting.
Bob Blanton again brings his magic of prose, story and character exploration with canned good sci to in book 17 of the Delphi series, in a twist from the normal "sci-fi Thou shall not interfere model" Blanton through his wonderful characters paints an a viable alternative Grab Read it and ponder.
I truly enjoyed this book. First I thought the book was going to be boring but it got a lot better as it went along. I look forward to reading the next book and any others that come along. Keep up the great work. Recommend this series to anyone looking for a great read.
While I've enjoyed the storyline, I've found in the later books many grammatical errors, spelling errors, missing words, and punctuation errors. Yeah, I'm a bit of a nut about that stuff. The story loses something when you have to go back and reread something several times to figure out what was supposed to be written. Otherwise, great stories!
Another good episode in the ongoing saga. The crew is ever expanding thru the galaxy and meeting new species. The cliffhangers are not too bad, but a Galactic Mafia?
With "Delphi Mediation" the 17th book in the Delphi in Space Series, the series appears to be running out of steam or the Author is running out of ideas. I hope the next book will recapture the innovation of the series beginning.
This was a very good book about race relations with otherworldly aliens, some drama mixed with humor. I enjoyed reading straight through of coarse no book is ever long enough to satisfy a need for a longer story so I'll have wait for the book. 😁
Katie works with newly found civilizations to see if they can be included in the Delphi League. Some individuals cause trouble. Emperors, pirates, grandmothers, and businessmen ensue. I like the action and humor. I look forward to the next book.
This story of a guy who finds a ancient alien AI on a spaceship was fantastic. I still don’t understand why he doesn’t just say that Earth was a colony also, but this story is great nonetheless.
Love the continuation of this series. As usual I devoured the book in a couple days and it left me hungry for more. These are NOT high historical novels just greatly entertaining science fiction. Please may I have another.
Catie and her crew discover a group of planets that are occupied by humans at a low technological level. The Delphi people begin to improve the technology level but there are problems and bad guys to deal with. A great story.
I have all of Bob Blanton's books and audible books for this series. They are all great books and keep the reader interested and engaged. I think any sci-FY fan would love this series.
A great series, looking at solutions to current Terran issues. Combined science knowledge with science fiction, which thru past history can lead to science fact. A saga about humanity becoming better and finding a fuller destiny
Another exciting episode in the Delphi series. It was hard to put down once I started because the action was so fast-paced and full of intrigue. The characters were awesome. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.
It is sad to see a series with such potential fall apart like this. Mr Blanton, you created a novel that spans across universes and brought life to AIs. Thanks for your forward thinking and unifying ideas.
I really wish the main character would grow as a person instead of being this childish girl who whines all the time about not being allowed to stick her head into fire and I kinda miss all the other main characters who basically disappeared from the story a few books back.
I am hooked on this series. I really enjoy reading the stories. My only complaint would they I reach the end of each book too soon and once again I cannot wait for the next book to come out.
These books started out well written and enjoyable. They are gradually becoming more boring--still OK but headed downhill. You should start looking for a new series.
