As readers, we are quick to judge the books we read. However, as a writer I know how difficult it is to create something out of nothing. Considering that Too Hard To Handle is the Debut Novel by Anamika Mishra, I started reading it without any kind of expectation from the author. There are some serious grammar mistakes and typos that could have been avoided / should have been taken care of during editing. As mentioned by the author, the revised edition would deal with this.

Typos and grammar mistakes left aside, I found the book an interesting read. The story-line is simple, the characters are down-to-earth and well described. I have read Indian authors who have used Hindi words in their books, those somehow seemed out of place to me, however, reading this book, even the use of Hindi words, the casual language seemed essential part of the book. The story flows smoothly and is easier to imagine. It seems, while reading, that we are in fact watching a movie.

The story is written in first person, narrated by Anushree Sharma - the female protagonist. I liked the way Vivaan - the male protagonist is described in the book.

Overall -
It is a simple, easy and nice read which can be enjoyed with a cup of hot coffee.
Read with an open mind.

A must read for all, especially for women who find themselves fighting with hardships of life. Anushree shows them the way how to tackle the situations which become Too Hard To Handle

I must say, as a debutant, you have shown a great deal of potential for becoming a successful writer. Keep up the zeal and enthu.

The storyline clearly portrays how and what a simple living girl feels when she finds herself in situations as faced by Anushree (in novel) and are well versed.
The feelings are simple, honest and true. Poetry by Anamika also connects the reader with the lead character, Anushree.

May you shine brightest among the plethora of novelists. :)
Wishing to become a successful read.

Keep up the good work Anamika. Awaiting new works in line.

Bought this book on recommendation of a lady friend of mine. My sincerest suggestion to the writer is to "Please Use A Ghost Writer Next time You Even Think Of Writing Something".

While understanding that this is your first attempt i am still very much frustrated at myself for wasting my money and time. Nothing falls into place in the book. The writing style is comparable to a sixth grade student. No respect for general grammar and sentence formation. We do not use dots and unidentified special symbols unless they actually make some sense. And please don't get me started on the story-line.

Very hard attempt at creating some symbolism but that also seems misdirected at most of the occasions.

I hope you do a better (actually much better) job next time you write something. Best of luck!

There are things that are good in the novel and there are things that need serious improvement. For a debutant, it is expected that they will make errors though the readers do not excuse the serious ones. Anamika had a good plot in hand and she could have developed it in a much better way than it currently is. The characters seemed too typical and events predictable at times. Off course, we have read innumerable love stories and have got a knack of it. For those making a venture into the fiction world, there is expected some off-theme tales and Anamika fails here miserably.

The next big goof-up is the language. The language and editing of the book is very poor, especially when it comes from someone who has done Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication. Many a time, SMS lingo is used and many a time, incorrect English. It becomes too irritating for someone who expected even decent English in this novel.

The whole book seemed like a teenage experience with no ripeness at all. In her next novel, if Anamika plans to write any, I would expect better English and a mature plot. The only thing that I liked about the book is its cover. It is lovely!

First of all, I loved the character of Vivaan in the Book. He is simply like a Mr. Perfect, of whom every girl dreams of.
This book is unlike airy fairy books, which portray either a perfect or a vamp-like image of friends, this book really shows the reality.
While reading I could connect myself and incidents with my friends to the characters in this book.
This place kanpur is something haan!! I really want to visit Ganga bairaj now. Dabang 2 movie portrayed another image of this place, and this book has narrated something else, leaving me curious about this city of love.

Ending was AWESOME !!

Author's picture clearly shows her simplicity and innocence, and so is her writing.
Now I can say, you don't need good and difficult words to create magic. it can be done with using simple words too.

Hats-off to Anamika, for making me smile, laugh, cry, nostalgic and make me fall in love with my love once again.

Though I am not so active on social media, but my friend suggested me to join GoodReads.com and write a review for this young girl Anamika Mishra as Young talents need a motivation and a single line from my side would enlighten her day.

Anamika mishra, you have done a fabulous job.
You are just 23 and your thoughts are so deep and mature.
You perception towards a relationship is appreciable! you have show both side of a relation.
The title justified the story.
'Diary' part was a surprise element for me. How it goes off and how it comes back is very well explained.

You are truly an impeccable story-teller.

Best of luck to you girl.

May you reach the zenith of success.

People can easily connect their selves to some of the characters in the book.
There are so many twists in the book and all the sequences are well synched.
You cannot predict what is going to happen next.
The poem written is too good. It is indeed a potential song.

too hard to handle is a nice and refreshing novel. I found it witty at times. Though, it had tried to cover a long phase of life, from childhood to marriage, but the way Author Anamika has tried to capture this long phase of life, is really appreciable.
Author has a very smart approach in creating twists and turns. The story is interesting and tends to glue the reader from start to end.

She has shown a lot of potential in her first novel.
This book will surely create a mark worldwide.
Good Luck

I am stumbling upon Anamika's first book after reading all her books.
one thing is for sure, she has improved a lot after this book.

The story revolves around the life of Anushree, our protagonist. Anushree got engaged to a guy named Vivaan, her classmate back in school before she moved to another town in 6th standard. Anushree has a hard time recalling Vivaan as her classmate, but she does not remember him at all. Vivaan has been head over heels for Anushree since childhood and is over the moon to have been engaged to her.

Both the love birds enjoy painting the town red in love, but one thing always ruins the moment for Anushree. Vivaan Assumes that he is the first and the last guy Anushree has been with. While Vivaan is proud of this, Anushree has guilt ruin the moment for her as she did date people in the past.

Anushree decides to confess her past to Vivaan and break the bubble he is living in. Not having the willpower to speak to him face to face about it, she writes down her life in a diary and gives it to him. Not knowing what the future holds for her, she gives the diary full of her past memories to Vivaan right before he leaves the country for work.

To Anushree's surprise, Vivaan informs her that the book is empty and nothing is written. Anushree panics and looks for it everywhere. On not finding the book, she gives up, believes that the universe didn't want Vivaan to know anything, and moves on in life.

The book is now found, and Anushree is again at the most difficult crossroads of her life.
Who had the book? Will Vivaan get to read it? Will he be able to accept her past and marry her?
to know this, you got to read her book. :)

'Too Hard To Handle' by Anamika Mishra is a simple young adult romance between Anushree and Vivaan. They both are about to get into an arranged marriage but little she knew that they both have been schoolmates in primary school days & she was Vivaan's first and only crush. Things now look interesting, full of love and 'destined' for a happy ending but is it the only surprise from past which Anushree has to face again?

Your past has a great ability to spring back again in your present at any given opportunity and tendency to affect your future. The narration is simple and accurately depicts how deceiving your teenage relationships and friendships can be. â—

Too hard to handle was a good experience.
As a first time author, making small mistakes are okay. But developing such a deep plot was something which was unexpected. I really liked the plot.
Editing mistakes were there and I can see, my fellow readers and other people are questioning upon author's degree etc for this. But according to me, that is totally insane. A school English teacher can also write brilliant English with almost NO mistake, but that doesn't makes that teacher a writer.
Great efforts are required to write a full-fledged book.
I am very disappointed with readers who judge the book upon its mistakes. And above all, they blame it on authors. But the reality is, book goes through an editing phase, where changes are made in the book.
And, if someone is to be blamed for the mistakes, its the publishers, the editors .. not the author.

I may sound defensive for this young and talented author, but yes I really feel people should be generous and easy in judging the book.

Coming back to the book, the characters Anushree and Vivaan were well developed. I liked the 'Before saying sorry' part.

I think, this is a book for classes, and not for masses. If you love reading unconventional stories, you should read it... but If you are expecting this to be a typical love story, then don't buy this book.
It is a very different and interesting book.
Thumbs Up from my side!!

I liked this book, seriously. It has all the elements. I read the ebook version on Kindle as it was an updated version of the book available on paperback.
It didn't had any typos and the editing part was just perfect. I recommend this book to all readers who love to read realistic yet deep and lovable stories that have that 'FATE' element in it.
Go for it.
