Divisa #3

Chasing Angel

Rate this book
Chase Winters is one of a kind.

That doesn’t mean he still doesn’t get on my nerves more days than not, but his arrogance is starting to be sexy. Together our bond grows stronger, and so do we.

Just as we hurdle one obstacle, two or three more pop up. Go figure. It isn’t enough that Emma once again hates our guts, now Travis has decided to go all demon-zoid on us. I could hardly blame him though; he had lost the girl of his dreams—again.

After everything that we have endured, I am not the same girl anymore. Not since the day I met Chase. The icing on the cake—there is a new player in town and he is not human. Hell has decided to pay Spring Valley a visit, and Chase and I are their first stop. Our quiet little town was about to shatter.

Of course there is also our rare bond to factor into all of this, and the pesky last piece. Or maybe it isn’t as pesky as it is combustible.

Soul. Heart. Body.

Oh dear God

The whole time I was reading this book I had planned to give it a 4. I was so relieved that this series finally took a distinct turn and became its own (book 1 was completely plagiarized from Obsidian and book 2 still had some remnants of the lux series). I was stoked. It was finally a book with a twist I was interested in. I've always been happy with the Chase as a character. And Angel, yeah shes alright. So I'm thinking, yeah...ok things are getting good. Then I get towards the end...and there the crap hits the fan. It's almost like Weil was like "damn, I can't think of anything else to write. I've run out of ideas. I'll just pull some crap out of my butt and end this book in the least well thought out and the corniest most juvenile way." I was so seriously disappointed. Now, I will admit that I am one to be pissed at a book because I don't like the ending but this wasn't that. I have struggled with this series, my respect for Weil as an author going in and out. I mean she did plagiarize. And this book is super juvenile and shallow. But sometimes I want to read a shallow book. So I pushed through being content drooling all over sexy hothead Chase with his awesome abs. But I just couldn't take the corniness. The lack of thought. It was ridiculous. The only reason why I will read the 4th book is because it is from Chase's perspective and I am curious since he is my favorite character. But I'm not even excited about it. I just have a hard time not reading a series to the end. I believe all experiences have a lesson so I don't regret reading these books. They made me appreciate other authors more, like Cassandra Clare (who I happened to be reading at the same time. bad idea since I couldn't help but compare the two). But I do regret supporting this series by giving it my money. I hope she knows how mediocre this series was.

I really don't have a review for this book. It's not that I don't like it, it's just doesn't give me that wow factor.

I mean the story line is decent no real complaints there. The author writing is also decent so no complaints on that either.

I guess reading this book is like eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich, enough to satisfy your hunger but not a real substance to quench your appetite for something good and juicy and that's putting it mildly.

So why am I still reading this damn series you wonder? The hell if I know, I have the need to continue on this path and just finish the damn thing.

So there you go; my review

3.5 stars.

This actually wasn't too bad. It was entertaining and all, but I couldn't give it 5 stars because of a few reasons.

1. Even though this series took a different turn than the Lux Series did (*+1.5 stars for that*), it's still a rip-off and therefore it can't get 5 stars from me. *-1 star*

2. The book is in major need of an editor. There is an abundance of spelling and grammar mistakes, not to mention that some parts are written so badly that I had the urge to cut my eyeballs out and bury them 10 feet underground. *-1 star*

3. We all get it-- Chase is unnaturally and unbelievably sexy. But it's really not necessary to state it on every single page! Seriously, whenever Chase is present, there are at least 3 paragraphs of Angel drooling over him. The very smell of him makes Angel want to jump in his pants, and hell, him saying her name practically causes her to orgasm. It's highly annoying. We don't need to read about his hotness every second. There are other ways to get to communicate the fact that he's hot. *-1 star*

This was awesome! I loved this book! I think it is because it has the similarities to the Lux series. In this book, the story follows Chase and Angel as they try not to complete their bond. Other than that, it was filled with action, love and friendship. However, it also dealt with death.

Chase is almost exactly like Daemon with the snarky attitude and passion and love for Angel. Angel is almost exactly like Katy with the low key demure with badass tendencies. Can't wait to read Book 4 in Chase's POV. Overall, an amazing read.

It actually keeps getting better! Although I was searching for more of the Lux Series in the book, I couldn´t find anything.

Finally the Divisa series became its own story, took a turn in a different direction and left the more-than-irritating start behind.

For the first time I could say I liked Angel. While she annoyed me most of the time in the previous installments, her decisions in this 3rd book of the series are at least understandable.
The plot may still be lacking serious depth and mind-blowing, wondrous stuff, but it is entertaining and amusing for sure.
Since I was able to shake the ever slumbering anger over the 1st book, it was a lot easier to enjoy the story and laugh along with Angel and her never ending trail of weird thoughts.
For me, the installments are too much concluded with each book. Although it regularly makes me go batshit crazy and pining over little details, I´m a cliffhanger sucker at heart. The Divisa books, though, leave nothing open for the next book. But well, I still would like to know that Chase´s head is like, so I´ll go on.

Another fabulous book in the Divisa Series! I can't wait for Loving Angel!

I love the main character Angel. She is so much fun with her snarky comments and feisty attitude! The way she antagonizes Chase, her love interest, is hilarious! Chase is funny in his own right. He gives every bit she gives back! The two of them together just explode off the pages! The bond they have just makes them hotter! Emma has gone back to crazy and Travis is just an angry demon with a broken heart! Love these characters!

In Chasing Angel, the demons get more aggressive. There is a bigger demon in the hierarchy with an host of different little minions so the action is a bit more intense to me. The danger seems to be even bigger in this book. I really enjoyed with the direction J.L Weil went with the demon activity in this one!

All in all, I have become addicted to the Divisa Series and it will be hard to wait for Loving Angel!

Another great book in this series!

Angel is just awesome. She's hilarious and there's never a dull moment when she's around. I love her relationship with Chase of course and how they like to go back and forth with each other. The issue that is occurring in the third book is that Chase's sire is back in town and of course he's causing trouble. Basically, he wants Angel and isn't leaving until he has her.

Like with the other two books, I love the writing style and the characters. The only thing that bothered me a little was the whole Emma thing. It seemed a little too easy for me and I feel like there could have been more to it.

Overall, it was a really fun and addicting read!

A must read x100! Chase and Angel still have that smoking, infuriating, swoon-worthy, and romantic relationship that we all love.
Angel is as stubborn as ever and is willing to do anything to keep her family safe and happy. Chase is still a sexy, smart-assed, and drool-worthy guy who goes all caveman and dangerous but keeps his heart of gold intact. Chase and Angel take their relationship further and Angel achieves amazing powers, ones that a high-level demon wants. I will say that I was a bit disappointed on how the Emma-Travis problem was dealt with, but I loved seeing the whole gang all back together. Don't miss out on the chase to read it!

Wow... awesome series

I really just love this series, I couldn't wait for this installment to be released. From the first book I really got Angel's snarky comments and her character doesn't fail to deliver in this book either. If anything I continue to grow attached to all the characters in this series. I certainly hope this is not the end of the line of their story and will look forward to reading about their continued adventures batting demons from the underworld. Alert: This is the 3rd book in this series if you have not read this series from the beginning you should start with the first installment in the series definitely worth it!

Finally when it seems this series is going to go it's own way. There are still so many things that are blatantly stollen from Jennifer L Armentrout. "Sweet Jesus", the Supernatural references, etc... Now I'm not saying JLA is the only one who can mention Jensen Ackles or say things like "Sweet Jesus", but after the first few books seemed like such a blatant rip off / fan fiction of the Lux series you would think the author would refrain from using the same phrases and Supernatural references. In case you are wondering how hot and sexy and what amazing abs and kissable lips Chase has is mentioned on every other page.

Even though it is similar to the Lux series, it still has it's differences that makes it, it own book. Very good read!

More!!!!

Chase and Angel are one of my favorite OTPs. I also love Lexi to the moon and back. Angel was so born to be with Chase. They compliment each other so well!!

First of all, I want to say that the narrator did a good job. I actually liked her better than the one they used for the first book.

I know the author is getting a lot of ridicule about plagiarizing other books, but I think she plagiarizers her own books at times. I just finished a series that was similar to it where “the souls were connected, etc... The main boy started as a bad boy, but had a sweetness to him, and the girl won him over. Only instead of being “Part death, he was “part demon.

The only thing that I found disheartening about these books is that young teenage girls will do anything to find something like this in their lives. This isn’t real. These authors like to make the characters the age of seventeen. The only thing she got right about the 17-year-olds in this book is the fact that they like to play video games all night, shop, and hang out with friends. 😂

All kidding aside, it was an enjoyable book if you just wanted to pass the time and not really have to think much. I would rate it in the same category as The Hunger Games, Twilight (especially), and the Cassandra Clare books. Why must this young girls feel they need a boy to make them complete? Enjoy it, but if you’re over 21, don’t drool too much over the jail-bait. 😂😂

Decent

This one wasn’t quite as good as the other two, at least not for me. However, it was till a wonderful book and carried the plot forward nicely. The triforce bond (make your video game jokes here) is a powerful thing, one that is untested and truly unknown / at least if it is completed. Chase and Angel we working things out and growing stronger together - now they just have to figure out his dad, and high school.

I am curious enough to continue the series, but I wonder how there are two more books. It feels so much has been resolved that carrying it forward is dragging things out or adding fluff where none needs to be. I’m interested to see what she does with this and how the plot can hold 2 more novels.

This is the third book in this series as I have grown to enjoy Angel and Chases hot and cold paranormal romance. This book picks up where the last left off with a crazy bond and more issues for this high school couple. The couple gets tested in this new adult paranormal romance with creatures and a long-lost relative, causing problems in this happy little world and speeding up their intimate timeline. This book progresses this story forward as they battle for each other and their loved ones. This book gets steamy finally, but I also love Angels' new heroine changes.

Chase has the willpower of a Saint even though he is a half-demon. On the other hand, Angel can't help but respond to the chemistry between them ramping up. They have a connected heart and soul but not the body.

One problem gets fixed, but another arises, and they feel the calm before the storm. They still haven't gotten intimate as Chase doesn't want her to give up her wants, and he wants her to be able to walk away, but honestly, it is only a matter of time.

This book gets hot, taking in steaminess and in, you know, the creatures from below. Yeah, this book gets twisted and dark as they battle something genuinely evil, and they don't even know what it wants and why. Oh, this gets worse, and their procrastination might cost them. Oh, the author ties this off perfectly, and now I can't wait to see what happens next. I think she made the right decision, but what will that mean for future books.

This book was packed full of action, sadness, love, and fear. It was a wild roller coaster ride. Having to deal with Chase’s sire got worse and worse as the story went. Watching Angel grow within her and Chase’s bond was so exciting, never knowing what power she would show next. I hated how much Travis was suffering and I worry that what Angel did to make things better is going to blow up in her face down the road. I love her mom and Devin together and how they all make one big happy family. Chase and Angels love for each other is beautiful and we get to understand more about their bond and what it all means. I am really curious of what is going to happen in the next book.

Never a dull moment with demons

Still another great book in the series. The author kept me entertained with great writing and packed with action. This book definitely wraps up many struggles going on through the series as Angel's life line unfolds. Read this to help bring conclusions to many of the characters onstacles. Great book. Wish the author could have delved into the final bonding more. It could have been a chapter all on its own or a side note for those over 18. Just sayin'd

I really enjoyed reading this book. I found myself wrapped into the adventures alongside the characters other readers of this series have already gotten to know, and I'd recommend this book to others that are following this series, or those that feel like they are looking for a book about the bond between a demon hybrid and a human girl, and their struggles to resist being compelled to sign up for a one way trip to hell.

In the aftermath of a battle gone wrong Chase and Angel struggle with their recent decision and Travis is reeling. The last thing they needed was to be fighting each other...

Bloody hell! (And yes the pun is fully intended) Things just keep spiraling for this lot. If it's not hell itself at their heals its hunters.

I love the action in this series but I really hope the pair catch a break and soon.

Who knew small towns would be so lively?

*Brb - buying skittles & knee high socks.

This series makes me crave a sexy half demon and skittles. If you’re reading this series, you’re already hooked. You’ll stay just as hooked on this one as the previous books. You’ll be curled up in your knee high socks, laying on your couch, swearing you can feel your hip tingling from your bonding mark every time Chase walks in the room. Wait, your soul isn’t bonded to Chase? Oh, maybe just to this series then.

Demons whats not to like

The love between angel and chase is epic nothing is getting in between these two. Demons hellhounds and humans dont mix well infact humans instinctively fear them when near. Alistar wants angel to join him so he can use her powers which have started to show there purpose. Basically a love story with added action. Angels mum and devan getting together is a nice touch, travis and emma are happily loved up again all we need now is lexi coupled up...

Okay it was better than “losing emma.

I still think it is rushed. As someone with a vivid imagination, I need to be able to visualise the story. Well here there are blank spots.

How is hell. What is the real background story. Why Divisa existe? Who is Alastair really??

What does keystone mean? How is that even possible?!

So many annoying questions that are not being resolved although I am moving on Book 4 now.
