BEGIN WITH GOODBYE Vol. 1 is the first installment in a serial romance series. It is approximately 5000 words (about 18 pages.) New volumes will be released every 2-3 weeks until the story is complete.

When Samantha left Harborhaven for her freshmen year in college, she barely looked in her rearview mirror. Now it's three years later and she's back for her sister's funeral.

But only Samantha knows the truth: for all intents, her sister died three years ago on the night of her senior prom. Coming home means coming face to face with the man she holds responsible--her sister's husband and Samantha's former lover, Julian Ashburn.

3 CURIOUS STARS

Samantha has come home for her sisters funeral. While there, she lets loose a secret that rocks the town, embarrasses her mother and releases some of her guilt at her part in her sisters demise. Now her sister's husband, her former high school love, wants her not only to stay and help him care for her niece, but he wants her back in his live and his bed. And so does it seem her sister, based on the letter she wrote. Sam is confused, but she would do anything for her sister Chloe, even in death, and her niece Melody.

I'm very curious about this. I have the full novel, which I'm now going to read. Although I didn't give this novella a higher rating, it has no baring on the writing. I just find it hard to give novella's like this more because you don't really get enough to have a better opinion.

Don't get my rating wrong, I think this book is hot! It captures your attention from start to finish, but hey what's 18 pages, LOL.. I do not agree with books selling for a dollar with less than 70 pages much less 18 pages...

Anyway, the book has lots of promise... You can bump this read on someone's ereader while waiting for your appointment and you're done before they even call your name... ;)

THANK YOU Netgalley and All Night Reads and Lilly Wright <3

First let me say something about me. I'm a reader and blogger who literally hates serials. But I love this so much!!!! I couldn't stop reading honestly! But I wished more! 18 pages is not enough for a vol.1 Well I know there's a vol 2 and 3 but I wished all of them together. After reading vol.1 in 30 minutes, I immediately click Amazon and bought the other books! GOD!!!! I can't wait to read them and I wish(again),I haven't any books in my hand right now so I could read them :)
Begin With Goodbye is a well written. I was pleasantly surprised and am thrilled about this serial and left with a cliffhanger!!

This was a short installment of a 7 part series. Sam is back home for her sister's funeral and is about to reveal a tragic secret about her sister, impacting her whole family. She also comes face to face with the man she rightly or wrongly blames for her sister's death.

I liked the way it was written from Sam's point of view, and I found it easy to be in her head. She sounds like a strong character and is not just going to fall back into Julian's arms again. Her thoughts and feelings were well communicated and I am looking forward to reading more about her and her relationship with Julian.

This was billed as an short installment, so it should be read that way. This installment teased me and left me with more questions about how the story will eventually pan out. I don't usually read stories this short, and I was pleasantly surprised.

At the moment this story is free on Amazon so it is a good time to pick it up and see for yourself.

Begin with Goodbye is a serialised novel, expected to be completed in seven parts. This first part is 18 pages long, and introduces the reader to Samantha, who is reluctantly back in her hometown for her sister's funeral. Samantha is not only learning to live with her bereavement but is also having to face her sister's husband, her own former lover Julian.

Whilst I enjoyed the first person narrative which allowed some astute observations, I found Begin with Goodbye a bit rushed at times and the plot felt far-fetched. I am a fan of romantic fiction, but I just didn't feel like I bonded at all with any of the characters. The sudden ending, which is perhaps to be expected in a serialised book, left me unfulfilled, which was a shame as there were parts of this book which really appealed, especially some of the more emotive aspects.

I wouldn't rush out to get the next instalment of Begin with Goodbye, but can imagine that it may do well if they ever get published in one complete volume.

Begin with Goodbye is out now, published by All Night Reads.

6/10

With thanks to the publisher who gave me a copy of this in return for an honest review.

by is part one of a serialized novel titled Begin With Goodbye. This has a bit of a different storyline from any I've read before. The sister, Samantha, returns to her home town after leaving it in her dust three years ago for her sisters funeral. She's now trying to make sense of the mess left behind. Her sisters widow who was also her own first love, her beautiful niece who is now motherless, and her own mother who is a heartless hateful woman she can't stand to be around. She is ready for the truth to come out into the open and finally purge the cloud of misery from her life and the memory of her sister.

Volume 1 of Begin With Goodbye actually has a nice beginning to it or actually maybe not since it began with Samantha returning to her hometown for her sister’s funeral. She’s estranged from her parents. To make things even more awkward, her brother- in law is also her ex from high school. Ewwwww. I just don’t get that appeal. My sister and I had an unspoken rule that if I dated someone he was invisible to her, I even had that same understanding with my friends.

Due to the fact Begin With Goodbye was only 18 pages its kind of hard to form a true opinion. I feel like I need more to go off of. I will say that it did intrigue me to see how the arrangement between Samantha and her brother in-law Julian will work. With that being said I do believe I will be waiting for this series to complete before reading the remaining parts. So that way I can have a full opinion of it and I can also indulge in my need for instant gratification.

I received a copy of Begin With Goodbye via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review.

First let me say I generally dislike serials. I don't like getting so little at a time and I am hesitant to pay .99 cents a piece for a small chunk of the story. Also, in my experience they tend to be poorly written and unedited.

HOWEVER, Begin With Goodbye was well written and edited. I was pleasantly surprised and am thrilled. I WANT to know what happens with Samantha! Obviously there is only so much charecter or plot development that can be done in 18 pages but I did feel like I wanted to know more about Sam and Julian. You are left with a cliffhanger and want to know what happens after the funeral of Sam's sister, Chloe.

So for fans of serials and maybe even those who don't generally read them, Begin With Goodbye is an engaging story that will make you want to read the next chunk. It is written well, edited nicely and has a great story. I enjoyed it.

This book is about Samantha, a woman who left her hometown of Harborhaven and all the bad memories that it held for her. When her sister Chloe dies of cancer, Sam must return for her funeral and face her overbearing and controlling mother, and the man that she once loved and gave her virginity to Julian, her sisters husband.

After the funereal Julian hands Sam a letter that her sister Chloe wrote her asking her to stay in Harborhaven and not only help with her 3 year old niece Melody, but also to have a second chance at love with her husband.

Sam has to decide if she can forgive Julian and face the secrets that he plans on telling her about her sister.

This was a short read that is going to be in a series and I can't wait for the rest of the books. It held my attention from the very beginning, it was well written and I loved the story line.

Why, O WHy do I punish myself? I keep promising myself I will never ever read another serial series but yet here I go again!!!! 18 pages seriously. I warn you to wait until there are more out there. Reading this is like trying to eat one pringle. There is just no satisfaction!!!

Samantha lost her sister and her boyfriend her senior year. Now years later, her sister has passed away from cancer and she is back home to say goodbye. What she doesn't expect is that everything she knows is wrong, or at least mostly wrong.

Julian lost Samantha when her sister was raped and she blamed herself and him. Now he wants her back and help to raise his little girl. Or at least help to find someone to take care of the little toddler while he is at work. Oh i want more!!

Samantha left her hometown of Harborhaven for college but must return for her sisters funeral. Samantha knows her sister really died three years ago on Sam's prom night, and she really doesn't want to return home to face every demon she left behind.

Granted this thing is only, roughly, 18 pages, but dang it gets you hooked and you are on the edge of your seat and BAM! it's over. Only to wait for, according to the other, a month for the next volume to come out. Normally I like little stories like this but Lilly Wright get's you damn near the edge and leaves you hanging by your fingertips. The emotions dripped of this page and I couldn't imagine living through the bomb that was dropped within those pages.

ARC provided via NetGalley for honest review.

This was extremely short, being 19 pages and all, yet it was the best first 19 pages! I was completely impressed with how many emotions were conveyed so far and how quickly it got to the point. As the synopsis mentions, Samantha has been away at college and has returned to attend her sister’s funeral. We get Samantha’s POV as to why she is so ticked off with her sister’s husband as well as her mother and father. You can tell by the way it ended there will be plenty of drama and that it is definitely a complicated story. I really enjoyed it and I definitely want to read the rest of the installments to come.

Wow, so much story fitted into such a short read.
We are taken right into the heart of things with a funeral of a loved one, friction left behind with an ex and a niece that needs her right now, it's a short read that promises so much trouble and excitement.

There is a lot of emotion in the story and a lot of things we don't have answers to, i'll be keeping up with this story but would like to hear some POV from Julian or atleast some insight as to why if he's so bad she would give in to him.

I am not sure how I feel about the book. I think that it was well written but I did not really like the length of the book or how things happened. I needed more from the book and I do not feel that I got it and was able to really get into the story because the story was so short. I just wish that it was rushed and if the author would have written a novel instead of several shorts stories I would have been willing to pay $4.99 for the novel. At this rate I probably will not read the rest.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

This book seems like a great beginning to a fun and exciting series. I started reading knowing that it was only 18 pages. When I got to the end I knew that I would have to read the rest. We only just get a taste of the secrets that are left to be uncovered.

I am wondering what will happen to Samantha and Julian when the three months are over. I have to find out and my mind won't stop until I do.

If you're like me and don't mind serialised novels then I highly recommend this one. This first installment is short and sweet, but concise enough to give you enough detail and drama to make you care enough to find out what happens next. I like Samantha. She has a sassy attitude towards her estranged family and speaks her mind frankly internally and externally. Looking forward to more.

This book is a great start to the series. Samantha is a strong willed girl who isn't going to stand pretty with her mouth shut. Julian has his work cut out for him if he thinks he is going to win her back. I can't wait to see how things unfold. Ready for book 2!

Thank you All Night Reads and NetGalley for ARC.

That's not bad, but hey it's 18 pages, what did you expect? I think I'll read the rest but I'm not sure.

The story is pretty original but nothing extreme, and there was a little bit too much for being only 18 pages, I think that Lilly Wright could have done something a bit longer, 18 pages are like a small taste (a really small taste and way too much happened.

We'll see.

This was okay. You can tell this is just going to be an emotional mess. It also leaves with a cliff hanger. Personally I would not even bother getting book two. This is probably a great read for someone other than myself. And again this is my own opinion.

This is a really short summary sort of. It gives us a basis for what I assume with be a good series of short novels I will say I am disappointed in how short it is it could have been longer. There is no denying the heat between Sam and Julian can not wait for the rest.m

~I was given this book for an honest review~ This is a novella so it wasn't very long. This was however the beginning of a great story! It was very interesting. Like I said it was short but it is very good. I can't wait to read the second one. I recommend reading it but it is a cliffhanger.

It's an interesting start and concept and holds potential. I'm intrigued to find out more but I can't bring myself to pay for work that is so short (unless a box set type of thing) so I guess I'll be left in the dark about what happens next.
