"Maddy's life story is an example of how Self-Belief could lead you anywhere" - BBC

Inspiring Self-Esteem Expert | Self Help Author | International Motivational Speaker | Success & Happiness Coach

'Growing up in India in a town known as the crime capital and in an environment of poverty, I never dreamed of being a coach and helping others get out of their own 'poverty' thinking. My world was full of deprivation on all levels and I had no emotional support, praise or positive feedback but plenty of abuse. I lived in an environment of scarcity thinking and had no idea that abundant thinking even existed! I was at times very depressed and suicidal.

However, from somewhere within, I found a determination to change my lot in life and with $8,000 of borrowed money made my way to the UK to enroll on a diploma course. I spoke little English and knew little about the country I had made my new home, but I was determined to prove my family and teachers wrong and prove to myself that I was a man of worth.

I experienced some pretty awful living environments here in the UK too. I ran out of money more than once, borrowed more money and washed dishes in a local restaurant to put food in my belly while I was studying. But always determined to better myself I stuck with it to reach my goal of getting a good job in the UK. And when I reached that goal (as an IT consultant for British Telecoms), I realised that there was more. More to learn and more to life.

I discovered that self development wasn't just about learning a new skill to get a better job it was about learning to get a better life. I have trained as an NLP Practitioner, Life Coach and Hypnotherapist and have studied psychology at the University of Oxford and support university students in the UK and South Asia for their thesis/research work related to Positive Psychology.

I have been a volunteer for various charities and NGOs for the past few years. Whether its polio eradication & AIDS awareness for the World Health Organisation or teaching life skills (mentioned in my book) to some young orphans in India or the projects for the British Red Cross, it has always been a nice and fulfilling experience. To see me in action and the projects I support

I am now a regular guest on radio and have been interviewed by stations worldwide including the BBC. I've done motivational shows for well-being TV channels and have been featured in several national newspapers and health magazines.

I have learned how to change my beliefs, my thoughts and my self-talk to change that scarcity thinking into abundant thinking. I've learnt to be thankful and I've learnt how to be happy (with or without money in my pocket).

I'd like to share what I've learnt with you so that You can be Rich, Fit, Confident and Happy.'

How to Build Self-Esteem and Be Confident - Overcome Fears, Break Habits, Be Successful and Happy by Maddy Malhotra is a practical approach to the typical self-help book. When you’re experiencing low self-esteem, most things seem out of reach, unachievable, and nearly impossible. This book offers golden nuggets of wisdom and encouragement in an easy-to-understand fashion.

To conquer low self-esteem, you must understand, accept, acknowledge, and find an alternative perspective of happiness. I am a typical worry-wart -- I stress about most everything, I worry, I pile on work when it is not needed. I had no self-esteem and didn’t have a positive attitude about anything.I have kept a journal while reading this book and have noticed a significant change -- even in the smallest ways. While most other readings are pure encouragement -- all talk and no action -- this book offers real life scenarios and diagrams that are very relatable.

Once you have identified the problem, you can begin to heal.

This book is inspirational and will lift your spirits to new heights.

This book was recommended by a friend and buying it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.
Everyone has a point in their life wherein they experience low self-esteem or lack of confidence. This book will absolutely help you to change that pessimistic notion into a life-changing one.
Most of us don’t realize that overcoming fears or breaking unhealthy habits is doable but this book explains it in a very engaging and easy-to-understand way.

What I like most are the exercises at the end of each chapter which is an added perk that you get in this book unlike many self help books out there. These exercises can help you to analyze and face your fears head-on. Every chapter discusses different perspective on how to improve your self-image and be the best you can be. The author doesn’t just relate everything through words but with illustrations and real life examples, which everyone can relate to.

One of my favourite quotes is “Like food is to the body, self-talk is to the mind. Don’t let any junk thoughts repeat in your head Maddy Malhotra
This book is a must-have for every household. Whether its your professional or personal life, this book can help you to understand the root cause of the problems and help you to be more positive, believe in yourself and live a fulfilled life.
Thank you Maddy for this masterpiece!

"How to build self-esteem and be confident" is a must have. The author uses real life experiences from his personal and business circles to illustrate his points. Reading the book is one thing, but the true benefit from this book is in the actual application in real life. This is difficult to do as we are busy and set in our ways. I believe the best way to build self-esteem confidence is by taking baby steps. Focus on one thing at a time, think of how to apply over a period of time, and then do a honest evaluation. I found the exercises at the end of each chapter very useful. I also feel you will get most out of the book if you could bring along your spouse or a friend and practise the exercises together. Very few people can do this, but if you do, it can change your life. I wish I was exposed to it earlier. Love this book!

One of my most recent reads and what an uplifting experience it brought me!

I like how the book is structured taking the readers on step by step basis - from initially recognizing important facts to getting specific about problems they may be having. My favorite chapters amongst these are creating positive attitude and developing good habits. It was really important to bring it to the readers attention that like every thing in life, a negative attitude is nothing but a habit and eventually takes the form of learned helplessness effecting their entire lives. Procrastination, unnecessary distractions and the imaginary fear that our plans may not work out have killed more dreams than anything else in the world. While reading the book, one is constantly reminded about these and provided some simple solutions on breaking free from them.

The book largely concentrates on the fundamentals of human thinking i.e. not unless we truly believe we can achieve anything and I, as someone who personally follow the ‘law of attraction cannot agree more with this message.
The author has fearlessly used his own example at the start of the book about his challenges and achievements that compels one to think that ok if this person can go through his set of difficulties in life and still be able to fight back and achieve so much and be a productive member of the society.

The chapter on self-esteem and the fact that is worth more than what societal pressure imposes on you is very helpful as well. Readers with issues about their appearance in particular can take a lot of advice from it. Though the book generally targets issues that are applicable to both the sexes but the additional chapter about self-image is something that will help the female readers in particular. In the artificial world that we live in today, women are constantly fed with false ideas of perfectionism in terms of being a certain size, height, clothes and shoes they should be wearing etc leaving little room for them to exercise their objective point of view of what they in fact find beautiful. It is reassuring to read that self –image is what ‘we create and not what is forcefully implied upon us by external sources and hence we (esp women) will never be able to get out of the kaleidoscope of misery, confusion and self- hatred unless we learn to respect our selves in every form, size and age.

I also believe that the book is helpful for many out there who may be brilliant at their existing skills however due to the lack of self confidence have not been able to exploit their talent at its fullest. Many times we may have great ideas at work but due to shyness and lack of belief in our selves we tend to hold back in sharing them or we tend to live in a belief that the others are more capable and intelligent than us this is exactly what the book discourages us at and reminds us that we can excel at anything only if we put our minds to it.

I like how time and again helpful quotations have been used throughout the book - i as a reader have highlighted my favorite ones as its nice to flick through the book once in a while and read these :)

Also, the exercise of self-analysis is very helpful too - it does help after reading each chapter to analyze how one is feeling in certain areas of their lives and dwell on the root causes of their problems.

To summarise I can say that the key benefits a reader can attain from the book would be encouragement at leadership skills, help at developing and maintaining a positive attitude and most importantly, to never cease believing in oneself.

Over all I really liked the book.

Dealing with self esteem (limiting self beliefs) issues is certainly a key to a better, richer, self-loving and peaceful life experience.
This book has totally captured the `key elements' required to live a fulfilled and happy life. Reading this book will give you a quantum leap towards achieving your happiness. It will show you how to eliminate `stinking thinking' and the nasty inner-critic that inevitably tries to flatten your self-esteem and confidence.

Even a confident person will learn and benefit from this book. Firstly, the book defines Self-beliefs (self esteem) and its effect on each area of our lives, then helps us banish the ones which prevent the development of self-worth and finally, enables us to view ourselves in a more positive way. If you are determined to develop a positive attitude and to take control of your thoughts/emotions, then this book will show you how to achieve it. Every chapter is full of life changing insight and transforming exercises.

Maddy's book is a book to carry with you in your bag every day. Even a flick through it may act as your daily dose of 'food for thought' and set you up for a good day.

It is a book that one will refer to again and again. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to know more about themselves or who wishes to develop their self esteem and happy relationships. It helped me to understand myself. Believe me, this is the next best thing to a real life coach!

It's easy to understand and the techniques are doable in everyday life unlike so many other books which can overwhelm or are full of jargons!

I highly recommend this book to any ambitious individual who takes his/her personal growth seriously. If you don't believe in yourself then who else will? You are responsible to create happiness in your life.

This book could change your life. It's inspirational, to the point and practical.

Wish you success.

If you’re looking for a book that will encourage you to become more confident, and will provide you with some questions that will help you become more successful, this is the book for you. The author provides examples from his life on how to become successful and happy. And he points out that there are no limits to what you can do, but that growing as a person takes time and work. It’s not an over-night process. The questions in the book really did make me think about how I handle some situations in my life. As a result I’ve decided to try a few different strategies in dealing with certain things that happen in my daily life. This is a great self-help book that I highly recommend!

Maddy's book ranks in my list of best books next to those by Stephen Covey, Jack Canfield, Napoleon Hill and Brian Tracy. This easy to understand and practical book can help you achieve success and happiness in every area of your life. Why am I so confident about it? Because Maddy knows why a lot of us have a low self-esteem or confidence, why our relationships lack happiness and what stops us from achieving our financial and personal goals. He walks his talk. He isn't just another life coach!

Stories with a moral, illustrations and motivational quotes make this book more interesting.

You have 2 options: not read it for whatever excuse and live your life at the same level of excuses and keep on complaining on how tough life is for you OR read it, implement it and live the life you dream of. The choice is yours. I already read it and recommend you to do the same.

This book has chapters for:
* Increasing Self-Belief. Eliminating the Beliefs which stop people from - losing weight, progressing in their career, achieving financial success, experiencing happiness and peace, having fulfilling relationships and leadership
* Becoming Positive. Eliminating/decreasing Fears, Worries, Anger, Guilt and Regrets
* Achieving Peak Performance
* Leadership Skills
* Taking Control of Emotions
* Developing a Positive Attitude
* Increasing Happiness in Relationships
* Creating Habits for Success and Better Health
* Forgiveness and Gratitude
* Decision making and Values
* Effective Goal Setting with Maddy's never failing technique
* Bonus chapters include - Parenting, Ancient Wisdom for Success and Happiness

Most of us know how to solve problems and fix things ourselves, right? Well, that's what we like to think. It's only when we take a stock of our lives and look at where we stand in terms of our dreams and aspirations, suddenly we realize we have a problem. For a while, I was sort of a rudderless ship drifting in a sea of negativity and misplaced notions. I realized I need help or an outsider's perspective into my life. It's hard to read the label when you are inside the bottle. That's where I turned to Maddy.

Maddy shows how from humble beginnings he turned his life around. It is an inspirational story; great going for a person who could barely speak the English language to become a regular guest on the BBC. On a personal front, the book was motivating. It helped me dissect my life and reflect on my past. The anecdotes were compelling and I couldn't help reading again and again.

Although most research tells you that negative mindset affects about 3 in 5, the truth is it impacts just about everyone. I hope more and more people invest their time and benefit from these simple yet powerful lessons of life. Like Maddy and many others, you too can "rewrite your future."

With practical exercises and adequate space for you to jot down your notes, you can go through the book at a pace that suits you.

After all, as women we're worth it - take it from a compassionate guy, that is Maddy Malhotra. :)

Malhotra goes into great insightful detail on how confidence enhances your perception of life and how others see you.

This isn't some superficial or temporary cure for improving self esteem,rather it is on how you can change inward and as a result over time be a better person in your relationships with loved ones, your professional life and in your private introspective moments.

The author explains on how you can apply these techniques through practice and over time they will become second nature.

These exercises are clearly illustrated and are not at all abstract.

The self help category has become a whole cottage industry for better and sometimes worse, but this book is as good as any I've ever read on this subject.

“Like food is to the body, self-talk is to the mind. Don’t let any junk thoughts repeat in your head This statement by Maddy Malhortra says it all. What this book is saying is that if you deal with self-esteem issue (making sure you don't have a low self-esteem), then it is certain you are going to have a better and peaceful life experience. This book talked about the effect of having self-esteem in every area of life. It is important to always see things from the positive angle, that's the only way to achieve great things. even if you already have a positive self-esteem, you can still read this book because it will guide you towards believing more in yourself and as a result you achieve greater things more than you expected.

This book should be on everyone's "to read" list. Malhotra has penned this self-help book with YOU in mind, and it reads easily without flaw. He grants us access to helpful hints, tips and strategies that could really change your life. It will bring forth a positive attitude and outlook and readers will benefit by successfully having peace of mind. Most of it seems like common sense, but sadly many of us don't portray confidence daily. His book and written word is an inspiration and his message to us come across loud and clear...BELIEVE.

This book was given to me by a friend who found it really helpful. I have written a lot on this same topic over the years on my own blog.

I was really pleased reading the book and found the authors insight and thoughtfulness inspiring. I often find too many of these types of books are written by people who approach the topic as a clinical matter never having lived them.

Maddy demonstrates he has a real connection to what works through his own personal struggles and successes.

If you are looking for something to lift you up and offer proven advice this book is for you.

Maddy provides you with a wonderful reading experience on a journey to finding yourself. Starting immediately by making you feel "when your life goes downhill, you're not alone and you can get back up" using the writer's personal experience, this novel will definitely help you build up/restore a positive outlook.

It's what will motivate you, when you feel like nothing can. May you find your dream.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this magical work of Maddy Malhotra and rate it honestly with 5 out of 5 stars.

"Would YOU like to live a Rich and Fulfilled life?" I answered yes, of course! So I read on and completely discovered why I was holding myself back.

This book is excellent, such a motivational and inspirational tool book, equipping me for my years ahead, building and boosting my confidence so that I can achieve the best from myself.

The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5* review is in places it wasn't relevant to me, but that was just my own personal opinion.

Highly recommend this book to anyone who is trying to get out of their own way, so to speak!

I am so glad that I read this book from success coach and inspirational speaker, Maddy Malhotra. I love self-help books, but not all of them are easy to understand. This book is! Maddy really helped me to understand just how important self-esteem and a healthy confidence level are for our happiness and success in life. I have read about these subjects before, but this author really drove it home for me. I feel inspired to do more work on myself. Thank you, Maddy, for writing this book!

Maddy's book is one of the best self-help books I've ever read (and I've read quite a few!) Not only is his life story compelling and inspiring, but the tips he provides for leading a happier and more fulfilling life are very useful.

Throughout the book he also provides a series of exercises which serve to cement the lessons of each chapter. I found these really practical and helpful.

Overall this is definitely a book I would recommend and I've already bought a copy for my father-in-law.

Wonderful book on self-confidence and self-esteem. The author did a lot of research, you can tell. I liked the way the book was easily accessible, somewhat of a guide. Confidence is a funny thing, because it's something we all want, but it can be hard to hold on to: but ultimately controlling it depends entirely on us. Great book with some really valuable insight.

Unlike many other works in the personal development field, this book is actually a practical manual for overcoming our most difficult obstacles. More specifically, it outlines how to get to the actual root of our problems -- which involves learning to critically examine out beliefs, taking control of our self-talk, learning the role of our emotions, taking charge of our attitude, and several other key factors that determine our daily experience.

I found his discussion of success especially helpful. Success is not the same thing as fulfillment. Furthermore, we often only think of success in the financial or vocational sense, where it should also be considered in terms of health, relationships, parenting, emotional wellness, fun, and spirituality.

Also, I recommend taking each of the questions in the Explore Yourself sections and journaling about them. Really, you could spend a week just chewing on each question. There is much to unpack!

Overall, this is a great overview to several essential topics that one must address if one wants to be truly happy!
