Grabbed, Book Three

To escape her father's debt to a loan shark, Dizzy seeks refuge in the upcoming Grab. She'd rather belong to one of those terrifying sky warriors from the battleship Valiant than to the sleazy criminal who wants her as his plaything.

The years of constant war haven't been kind to highly decorated sniper Venom. Only the promise of earning a wife kept him going through deadly battles. Catching and collaring Dizzy fills him with incredible hope. Finally he has a woman of his own, a mate to love--and bind and adorn with his ropes.

After a brazen Splinter attack, the Shadow Force uncovers secrets about Dizzy's late mother that entangle her in a web of deceit. To save Venom, her father and an operative named Terror, Dizzy digs deep and risks it all.

Venom refuses to stand idly by while Dizzy's haunted past threatens the future they're trying to build. He finally has a reason for living--and he's not giving her up.

While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created.

As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college.

Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history.

Lo lives in Texas with her family and beloved Great Dane, Bosley.

This was a great book. I really loved Dizzy and Venom and enjoyed their story. I love this whole series and this was a great addition.

Dizzy is a smart and nice woman that has fallen on some rough times. She was raised well off but her families money was lost during a recession. She had been a muse (aka model) but after surviving a terrorist attack with visible scaring she had to find another way to make a living. She found a love for clothing design and did well at that, making a decent living and living life as best she could. Things all changed when her father tells her he has debt to a loan shark and he sold her lottery number in to "The Grab" (A race where a warrior race of men chase down women to make them their mates, aka wives) in order to get the money. Since it's either enter "The Grab" or become the plaything of a loan shark, Dizzy chooses to option 1.

Venom is a warrior and a Captain the military. His race is raised from childhood to give everything for their military careers and their brothers at arms and they've known little caring in their lives. Their race doesn't allow the men to take mates until they've gathered enough valor points, proving that they're brave and skilled warriors. Because of how hard it is to get a mate, the men of Venom's race cherish their mates, looking on them as their one chance to truly have a loving relationship, someone that will care for them and make a future with them. Venom is very excited to enter a Grab and find his mate, a day he's been dreaming of for years. What he didn't expect was to get taken down by a trap around his ankle before he gets the woman he wants.

When Dizzy starts the race she notices Venom and he notices her right back. Venom knows she's the one he wants and takes off after her when the race starts. Unfortunately, the area the race is taking place in is an area the locals do hunting in and Venom ends up with his leg caught in an old, rusty trap. Unable to get it free, he lets out a howl of frustration over loosing his chosen woman, Dizzy. Dizzy had been running but heard the howl of anguish and, worried that the big warrior might be seriously hurt, she turns back and goes to see if he's alright. They start talking and she helps him free his leg from the trap and he tries to keep her warm (as they're outside in the snow and she doesn't have a lot on). They come to an understanding and feel a connection to each other so when Venom asks Dizzy to take his collar she agrees, willing to try for something good with Venom since he seems kind. They go back to his ship once the race is over but Dizzy has a medical issue that is aggravated by the transport in to space and she has to be sent to the medical unit instead of going home with Venom. Venom stays with her though and is sweet and attentive (when not being jealous and possessive) trying to ensure that she's taken care of and knows he's there for her. They do end up getting some shocking news about her background that brings up more questions but nothing can be done about it at the moment so they move on for now while Dizzy tries to digest all the changes in her life.

Once Dizzy is released from medical, she and Venom finally get back to their quarters. She's feeling well enough that they're able to finally consummate their mating and Venom is very gentle with her (due to an extreme lack of experience on Dizzy's part) and makes sure she likes it, a lot. :D Things go pretty well for them as they start to bond. Venom is protective and sweet to Dizzy and she realizes how much he's trying to please her and puts her all in to returning the sentiment and they both start to fall in love. Not to say that there aren't stumbling blocks... Venom isn't happy when Dizzy wants to continue to design and sell clothing after they're mated, seeing it as her not being able to provide for her. It takes him some time and a little bit of thinking (and seeing her in action when she helps a friend with a torn wedding dress and saves the day) to realizes it's something she's passionate about and it's about her love for what she does and not the money. Dizzy does well at working at the relationship with Venom and is even able to figure out how to be there for him when he needs her (like after a hard mission). There are a few other issues to overcome but overall Dizzy and Venom do really well together and come to care for each other quickly. There's some drama at the end when the terrorists attack a ship containing fuel cells to steal them and it seems that they also have Dizzy's father and Terror (a secret ops agent) held captive. Dizzy helps out with some information that helps them track the bad guys but ends up in some danger herself. Venom and his team are able to save her and things end well, with Dizzy and Venom starting their HEA together.

This was a great story. I really enjoyed this addition to the series and loved both Dizzy and Venom. Dizzy is so sweet yet has a backbone that she uses when needed and Venom is a badass but yet so tender when it comes to Dizzy...I just couldn't help but love them. The action and romance are well balanced so things stay interesting and the secondary characters are great, making me want them to all have their own books so I can see them in their HEAs too. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I'd recommend this book. 2 thumbs up! :D

And then there was Venom....

Now, this book had my feels in a St. Andrews Cross and it wasn't about to let me go--I don't think it has yet.

So much happened, and I am left wanting to cry, laugh, and hug someone. So I hugged my nine year old. See, the thing is Lolita changed this up a bit. Our sweet little Dizzy walked right into the waiting lap of our dear Venom.

Dizzy was reluctant yet knew anything was better than the alternative. There is also another twist as to why she was went into the Grab but I will keep my lips zipped.

Now this story gets a bit more heavy on the BDSM, it has a considerable amount of rope bondage. It was actually very inventive and impressive to read the ease in which Ms. Lopez lays it all out for us in words to see. I've read rope bondage before and it was very--well it was like an instruction manual. This wasn't, it was fluid and very sexy.

The thing with these book is they are very high on the FEELS. You think you are okay and then the men have to go off and be dumb. But I say men are simple creatures, and when they get into their head something is right, it is very hard to talk them out of it without SHOWING them or basically spelling it out for them.

The Game is On in this one, the rebels are more intense and shooting down ships. The war is heading to the Valiant and all that intensity and high octane pressure jumps off the page and leaves the reading not just panting for more, but exhausted. I love how these seem to be getting longer! I don't think these books can be too long. You have to fit so much of the world, coupled with the romance to give the reader a full package. This series to me is elite. I love it so far, I'm kinda in denial I don't have another book to jump right into.

I will say this.

We have seen a lot of a Terror. Now, I don't hate Terror. Yeah, he was a d-bag in book two, but I honestly believe he has shut down so much of that part of him that he has no clue what he's doing wrong when he's doing it. Just like in book one when he says all that junk to Hallie in the bathroom when she's patching him up.

But just like Vicious says, he doesn't know anything about love, being in love, or the sacrifices one makes for a partner like that. He really doesn't. Now, I feel bad for him. Because I know a lot of readers feel he needs to be redeemed still for his actions. I believe him helping out Dizzy was a step in the right direction, but our boy Terror was kidnapped by the bad guys. Yep, and he's being tortured as we speak.

I'm gonna cry for him, I did cry for him when they said they hadn't located him.

All I know, is that the best revenge against a man like Terror, is to give him a sweet little woman that tells him NO, and that he can't resist. Bring that man to his KNEES! Make him BEG! I really hope his woman makes him BEG! I think I'm looking forward to Terror and Torment's books the most. WHY? Because they are the too that I will enjoy the most falling to their knees.

Trying to figure out if I like Venom more that Menace.

I really liked the development of Venom and Dizzy's relationship. I like the whole taking it slow thing, and I like how he didn't pressure her into being a sub.

Read again in 2016. Venom definitely better than Menace. He doesn't push Dizzy into anything. He doesn't even give her a safe word because she doesn't need one. They're meant to be together.

Reread again in 2018. I really like the beginning of Venom and Dizzy's relationship.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I like my aliens to be...well, a bit more alien and this just wasn't it. I'm glad I've read this series but this is the end for me.

I love this series! Aside from the delicious cover this book (and series for that matter) has everything I like in an erotic romance: hot badass alpha commando, spunky, strong heroine, interesting world, some BDSM (that fits the situation), good plot and realistic connection between the protagonists.

Highly recommend for fans of Laurann Dohner's Cyborg series or Eve Langlais's Alien Mate series - or anyone wanting a solid sci-fi romance (that is heavy on the romance).

Because the heroine is practical yet kind and the hero is attuned to her needs, this is a sweet, sexy, and satisfying romance.

The world building is good as is the full development of each character. The couple talks to each other and spends time together in the midst of an interesting plot outside their romance. Good stuff!

Third installment in the Grab series.

Venom, top Harcos sniper, has decided to enter into "The Grab" and get himself a wife. Their time honored tradition of chasing the woman of choice until he catches her has so far resulted in excellent matches between his fellow sky warrior brother in arms and the Calyx women. Setting his sights on one particular female, he moves to isolate and corner her before any of the other soldiers little realizing she has home field advantage which just might be enough to help her reach the safe zone before he can collar her.

Dizzy's dad is in debt up to his eyeballs to a loan shark. His only way out is to sell the one thing of value he has - Dizzy - so he sells her lottery number to a politician to use for HIS daughter forcing Dizzy to participate in "The Grab." With no where to go or anyone to save her, Dizzy allows herself to be grabbed. Her one hope is that whoever catches her is a decent guy who doesn't believe in hurting women. Guess she should have hoped he wouldn't use ropes....

Venom and Dizzy have enough common interests and are compatible sexually to make their future together look promising. That is until Dizzy's past brings up secrets that should have remained buried that could take Dizzy away from Venom permanently.

Each of the books in this series are divided into two parts. The first half featuring the actual developing relationship between the two main characters and the second half featuring a continuation of the action adventure portion of this series. I have mentioned in the past installments that I'm not a fan of this presentation but because of the excellent story line action half I remain a fan.

It's refreshing that BDSM is the norm for these guys and they have no problem telling their mates that they are their master from the start. On the other hand the females from Calyx have never been a part of BDSM so it's a learning curve to submit and go through the gauntlet of emotions as they come to grip with that. Venom was a shabari expert and brings that into their relationship. Personally this is why this installment is the best of the series. I love rope work and scenes that include it so this book fed that side of me with delicious scenes. The club scene was extra special as Venom was nurturing and respectful to those who wanted to learn the craft of shabari but had no problem being Dizzy's Dom when others felt that attitude meant he was weak. I actually could believe that these two were meant to be together.

Of course in the second half of the story, when the action/adventure/suspense part came into play circumstances arose that made things uncertain. Calyx and the Splinters continue to be problematic and I'm starting to wonder why the sky warriors don't just leave and let nature takes it course. But the good guys will always fight for what's good and right in the world so I don't see that this series will end anytime soon. Thank goodness.

Last but not least is the continuing plot of the overall series. Each book so far has featured one specific couple but it builds off the previous installments. Characters make return visits and the ongoing war on Calyx makes it important to know the history to understand the present. There are also glimpses of characters who will be featured in future installments and makes it important to know their back story or you will loose much of the flavor the author intends. For example. Right now there is one character (cough) Terror (cough) who I really have strong feelings about because of his actions so far. I wouldn't mind him being staked out with millions of red ants allowed to feed on him. Yet. There's that little side of me that wants to see him find that special someone BECAUSE of his actions so far... Go figure.

Definitely my favorite of the Grabbed series.

I was saddened to read about the authors problems with her publisher Ellora's Cave. Lolita Lopez has decided to walk away from the series due to unresolvable contract issues...this sucks the big one. I've become really invested in the characters and wanted to see them all get HEAs.

I really like Dizzy. She was so innocent but truly genuine. Venom fell for her right away, the big lovable softy. He was able to gently introduce her to her sexual side and teach her all about his passion for rope play and bondage.

Great twist about Dizzy's bloodline.

I really liked Venom's story. This has quickly become a favorite series of mine. It's right there next to the New Species series by Laurann Dohner. I am looking forward to the rest of the stories!

Though this is a series, I read this one first and loved it.

Rundown: Earth is in quite a state due to acts of man (always the guys who destroy shit) and we find that women's rights are non-existent once again. Sold into a lottery by her father to become mates with the alien empire warriors who required this from Earth in exchange for protection for the planet from other bad guys. Chick is resigned to this and happens to get caught in the lottery (which is an animalistic chase between the girls by the warriors) by a very sensitive and of course hot warrior. Plot was pretty well developed with good surprises and there is a litle action and a HEA.

I loved the characters but especially loved the strong communication going on between the couple. So refreshing to see a couple talk about things and not let issues fester or create angst. And the book didn't need any of that nonsense that is so proliferate in most of the romance genre. This was a quite steamy read. Perfect combination of sex, intrigue, romance, action and likable characters. It was an insta-love but I bought it, no problem. Couple of surprises though I had an inkling of them towards the beginning, they still delivered interest.

I went and read the first of this series hoping for more of the same but was disappointed by "Vicious" so I probably won't read more from this series unless someone recommends another one to me in the future. And you can read this as a stand alone- there was no confusion from having not read the first two in the series. I didn't rate this 5 stars because of the price of the book. This publishing house/group charges too much for these smaller books with the exception of the Lauren Dohner series in which every one was worth the price. Lolita's books, I find just aren't up to Dohner's level therefor not worth the $7. Better price would have been $4.

Enjoy!

The Grabbed series by Lolita Lopez has brought a wonderful new world to me. It’s the future. We have hot alpha males out to get their brides. The brides are looking for a better life, but they’re scared of the rumors about the sky warriors. You gotta love propaganda!

Once again we have a warrior who had earned the points needed to be part of the Grab and get a bride. Once again we have a bride who doesn’t roll over and take what ever he dishes out. Even though these aspects have been the same in all three Grabbed stories, the stories themselves have been different.

Ms. Lopez has kept to the original premise of the series, without making them all the same. Each of the characters has been unique, but carries the characteristics of their race and culture.

Venom is an alpha-male who loves ropes and bondage. Dizzy has always felt most comfortable when bound or weighted down. They are a match made to be together. Venom goes all alpha-male, chest thumping and Dizzy stands up to him.

As usual, things are not as they seem. We have some intrigue, some people with secrets, others have secrets revealed, there’s a little fighting, a little mayhem and some pretty tense moments. We also have some seriously hot lovin going on!

I’m loving this series and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Lopez comes up with next. I know who I hope gets his HEA next. I guess I’ll have to wait and see.

Saved by Venom is Lolita Lopez's third book in her Grabbed series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book but I do recommend reading the other two to get a better understanding of Lolita's sci-fi world and plus the books are very good.

In Saved By Venom, Venom is an alien sniper who is participating in the current grab. He grabs Lizzy, who is actually wanting to be grabbed (in the other two books, the ladies didn't want to be grabbed). I liked that Lizzy kept an open mind about the grab...that she was willing to give whoever grabbed her a chance. Lucky for her, Venom is a hottie, a hottie who just wants to take care of his woman.

Even though Saved by Venom has a similar plot line to the other two books, Lolita does a great job of keeping the story fresh and different from the other two books. This book had a couple of great twists, more interesting characters, and a slight cliffhanger for a minor character...who will be hopefully the next main character. Highly recommend this series to sci-fi romance fans.

This book is the third in the Grabbed series, and I continue to enjoy them very much. Unfortunately for me, I have to wait for the next installment to be published - hopefully soon.

The reason I gave this one a lower rating than the others is, while I enjoyed it, the background story has gotten a wee bit over complicated in my opinion. There seem to be more loose ends as well. As with the other couples, I liked Venom and Dizzy, but the names started to grate when I was struggling to remember who was who. Also, the stories are starting to feel a bit repetitive. Again, I like them, but perhaps it isn't a bad thing to wait a little while for the next one.

What's made this erotic sci/fi romance stand out from others I've read is the lack of alieness (I'll bet that isn't really a word. ;P)in the BDSM parts. There are safe words, club like get togethers, and classes on safety etc. The men are experienced dominants and the women inexperienced, but natural, submissives. The only real differences are the size of the men compared to the women (yep, each story has a, "that thing won't fit!" moment lol) and the cultural differences as to sexual openness. I've read this story many times over as contemporary BDSM romances, which is a good and not so good thing. So if you enjoy those types of light BDSM stories, you'll enjoy these.

I have to say it.. this was my favorite book of the series so far! I just loved loved loved Venom!!! I loved the book, their story was just so sweet and their relationship was more “real to me. Not that I didn’t enjoy the previous two books, it was really good. But this one, it just made me smile. I loved the way things played out in the Grab.

I loved his domineering ways, and also the softer side he showed her. I think his character was well balanced, he is very self assured to the extent that he doesn’t feel threatened by her and the things he is not really familiar with. I liked that he showed her kindness and affection, but didn’t let you wonder who runs the household. Alpha-licious! LOL

Needless to say, I can’t wait for the next book! Hell I can’t wait for any of them and I hope we get one about Mayhem and Cipher as well! I can read these till she runs out of character because I can honestly say I enjoy her style of writing.

4&1/2 stars!
Venom is definitely making my favorite males list. Dizzy was a good female lead that was just spunky enough and didn't do anything too stupid. The whole story was good with the father angle and Venom and Dizzy seemed to have a real relationship to build on. It focused a lot on the MCs while continuing to build the Harcus world. It was nice catching up a little with Viscous and Hallie and Menace and Nyah. I hope Raze or Terror get a story soon or any one of the other guys. I'm really likeing this series. Happy reading!!

Usually I enjoy the first novel in a series the best and the following books never quite live up to it. But this is one of the those rare books. Great action, hot love, strong female lead and a thoughtful, yet oh so alpha Hero. Then even better, there's mystery and intrigue.
One of the few series where I look forward to each new book!

IMHO, the cover alone deserves 4 stars, but the story is good, too. My only complaint is it's sometimes difficult to keep all of the guys' names straight because they are so similar. And, I am not all that into Dom/sub and ropes, so minus 1 star there.

This book totally makes up for the Menace book to me.

Dizzy is a clothing designer/seamstress on planet Calyx(sp?). Her mother was killed in an embassy bombing when she was young. The same bombing that left scars across her neck and nearly killed her.

Dizzy's father sells her lottery number to another on Calyx(sp?) to pay off his gambling debts. So Dizzy has to take place in the upcoming Grab.
She's very calm and pragmatic about it. Telling her friend to give away all her belongings and that going to live with the new mate that ends up grabbing her is for the best since it's either that or stay on planet and become Fat Pete's plaything.

Venom is the sniper who has been hoping to Grab a mate that will create a loving family with him & help him become as content as his mated friends seem to be. At the Grab, he sees Dizzy's white-blonde hair & decides she's going to be his. During the Grab, he gets his leg caught in some kind of animal trap. Dizzy hears his yell of pain and comes back to help him. They have a conversation as he's trapped, he gives her some spare socks and baggies to keep her feet warm because that's his main concern instead of getting the trap off his leg. Dizzy helps to free his leg and they agree she is his, & takes his collar. He carries her to the transport back to the ship.

On the way off planet, Dizzy has severe head pain & passes out. The first days of their "marriage" are in the infirmary of the ship. Dizzy undergoes surgery to fix an issue with her ears and the doctors discover her DNA is half Harcos. Her father was a Harcos male, not the man who sold her lottery number to pay off his debts.

Dizzy gets hassled by Shadow Force Operatives Pierce & Torment about her father, how she got into the Grab etc. They divulge to Dizzy that her biological father is Harcos. Venom won't leave her side through out the interrogation & is eventually released.

Dizzy is a virgin & she has some STEAMYHOTGOOOOD sex scenes with Venom. Wooha. It turns out both of them enjoy bondage. Dizzy likes to get tied up and Venom like the do the tying. Dizzy is very accepting of the Harcos sexual kinks

There is minor friction between Venom & Dizzy but they are both pretty considerate and open to communication. It was refreshing!

The drama comes when another ship orbiting Calyx is disabled and it's fuel rods are stolen by the Splinter bad guys. At the same time, Dizzy finds out who her biological father is and gets the real story about her mother.
He seems apologetic about humping & dumping Dizzy's mother, swears he didn't know about Dizzy until the embassy bombing, & says he didn't have the stones to tell his new wife about Dizzy, and that's why he didn't try to take part in her life. (Miserable coward sperm-donor now wants to play Father with Dizzy)

Venom and his team are sent after the bad guys and the fuel rods. Dizzy ends up on planet trying to track down where the fuel rods are being taken, and where her Dad has been kept as prisoner.
Terror ends up getting taken by the bad guys. (I was secretly happy about this since he was such an ass in Menace's book. I got the feeling LL was kind of apologizing to us/readers through out the book about Terror as there were many references/explanations concerning what he did to Naya in her & Menace's book.)

Good story, HEA and I'm pretty certain the next book will be on Dizzy's BFF and Venom's boss.

Lots of romance, action, sci-fi and heavy on the BDSM!

Saved by Venom is already the third installment of the Grabbed series by Lolita Lopez. This time about Venom and his barbed girl Dizzy. To escape she entered the Grab a game of running woman that have to be catches by brute men. Dizzy is grabbed by Venom who had his eye on her from the beginning of the game. Just one look was obvious enough to select his new bride and isn’t it a convenience his new grabbed wife is a virgin that likes to play and where Venom can explore his BDSM on.

Although the world building and characters are great to read about, you really have to like to read about BDSM to enjoy this book. I your not a fan (like me) comments will pop up Is he tying her? . again? and the fact that Dizzy is a virgin that transfers in one day in to the perfect sub is also a little off.

Love to read about the mystery soldier with the one leg! But then he has to keep the rope and paddles in the closet and come with something new for a change.

Always like a more lengthy novel and Lopez, who tends to write shorter books, made "Venom" more lengthy than usual. Definitely liked this story in the series much more than the last which was a DNF/skim as soon as the M/F/M foolishness was thrown in.
Liked the H, liked the h, all in all no stupid drama for drama sake. Some 'of course' moments like the h's birth father being a Top Gun and the virgin h being an immediate pro upon first time. H was alpha but...he wasn't *the* alpha which tends to drop my rating down a point for any book/series I read (unless of course it's genius like The Warden). Unfortunately I read this one right after finishing something similiar / theme by another author so I did skim a bit at the end out of overall boredome of the genre.
Think this series, if done 'right' can go the Dohner Path and continue for awhile...the men just need to get a little bit more dirty. And skip any idea of 3-ways, some books that may make sense, these alphas, no. So no.

Thanks to Carole @ TRR for gifting me with a copy of this book for review. My full review will be posted at a later date.

For now, I would like to say this is my favorite book in the series. It's a good read. The world building for this series is great, with a premise that is unique. The plot is solid, with a storyline that flows easily. Nothing is forced & everything happens for a reason. It has intricate subplots that serve as great setups for future books in the series. The best part was that I liked the main characters, Venom & Dizzy.

I enjoyed this book, and find myself looking forward to the next one in the series.
