ABOUT RETURN TO YOU (Letters to Nowhere Volume 3)

How many dreams can you chase at once?

Even with bad boy, TJ, disrupting their morning workouts, Karen and Stevie’s daily battles with each other are sure to bring both of them closer to a national title at next month’s championships. It’s the kind of feud that creates winning results.

Until a fall from the uneven bars shakes Karen’s rock-solid confidence. Not only does she balk every time she so much as attempts a routine, she’s also facing all this without much support from Jordan. After receiving some bad news, Jordan’s reluctance to listen to reason causes Karen so much frustration she begins to avoid him, needing space to deal with her own issues. He needs someone to force him to make the right choice, he needs his dad to intervene and Karen knows this, but is torn between her loyalty to Jordan and her concern for her coach’s son. Even though both paths lead to the same person—Jordan—it feels like she’s choosing between two different people.

And then there’s the growing tension between TJ and Stevie. They’re obviously on the verge of either ripping each other’s heads off or ripping each other’s clothes off. It’s hard for either Jordan or Karen to tell where those two are headed. Tension is building from every possible outlet and there’s bound to be an explosion of some kind in the very near future.

2.5 Estrellas!

There is no excuse for a 61-page 3rd installment to this series. The author stated that the full-length novel Letters to Nowhere would be followed by several "shorter" installments. So what? Every 6 months we get another 50-100 pages? NO, THANK YOU!!! I honestly wouldn't mind so much if each installment included material of substance. Unfortunately, these installments are nothing but fluff reads... And who knows whether we'll EVER find out *how* or *when* this story ends?!? The author hasn't even released info announcing "tentative" plans for a 4th installment.... After reading the 3rd installment Return to You I can unequivocally say that the sh*t has hit the fan & everything is in limbo. However, I'm too furious to even care. I'm abandoning this series because 60 or so pages twice a year is INADEQUATE as far as I'm concerned. And I no longer give a f*ck. It is beyond cruel & disrespectful for an author to end the 3rd installment on SUCH A CLIFFHANGER... and to not even publicly announce *when* or *if* there will ever be a sequel.

*1/5 stars*

And we're back!! Seriously, if you're a fan of the television gymnastics series Make it or Break it you need to be reading the Letters to Nowhere series STAT. It's like the book version, only with more heart and depth.

The gymnastics aspect was, again, spectacular. I've never read any other book with a gymnastics element, but I can't imagine it being written anymore realistically than this series.

Karen focuses on her bar routine throughout Return to You, and at the beginning has a pretty terrifying fall. And then, something crazy happens...she's caught before she gets seriously injured. This is probably one of the most swoon-worthy scenes in all the series, and it's the moment where I became a supreme fangirl over T.J.

The sub-characters, T.J. and Stevie, are featured more in this installment. T.J. has no filter, he coaches little girls in a way that makes them cry, and generally is a bad boy you love to hate and hate to love. I'm beginning to fall for his character so much that I think Return to You has become my favorite book in the series. There's definitely more to T.J. and Stevie that we haven't seen, and I'm excited to learn more.

After falling from the bars, Karen starts to breakdown over her parent's death. We see how the cause of their deaths affect, not only her life, but her concentration in gymnastics. It's heartbreaking and a truly emotional journey.

While Karen trains, Jordan is still sick. But being ill does not stand in the way of Jordan/Karen sexy times. They still have a pretty sexy scene, and continue to grow in their relationship. Yet, setbacks seem to be in store for this couple. I just hope they can power through the roadblocks.

Given its length, Return to You is incredibly fast-paced with sexy moments, character growth, and times where I was waving my Jordan + Karen flags high. I rated the other two books in the series 4 stars, but since T.J. stole my fangirl heart, he pumps Return to You up to a solid 5 stars for me <3

The third installment of Julie Cross’s Letters To Nowhere series titled Return To You is just as engaging as the first two. As with the other two books, Julie’s writing is so emotionally charged that you feel everything the characters feel. Their pain. Their joy. Their confusion. Their loneliness.

Julie does a fantastic job with each of these short stories (Return To Sender and Return To You). There is enough mini-story in each of these to keep you interested, while continuing the overall storyline. I really enjoy each of them so much and while I really want more once I am done with each short, I am okay with where they leave off. I don’t feel as though I am completely left high and dry. There is some closure to things or at least the hint of it.

In Return To You, Jordan and Karen are still at camp and experience new highs and lows in their relationship among some other situations in their lives. TJ and Stevie play more active roles in Return To You which makes it quite entertaining. I still don’t know what I think about Stevie. I sense there is more to her than the tough-girl act she puts on. If anyone can pull it out of her it is TJ. I am curious about my feelings for him as well. While he says what he feels without much of a filter, he is still a bit of a mystery. I hope to learn more about them a bit in the future episodes. If you have already read the first two books in the series, you will really enjoy Return To You. If you haven’t yet, give it a try! You will be taken on quite an emotional journey. It is a series like no other.

4.5 stars.

Since these are shortened parts of one big story Return to You takes place right where Return to Sender left off. Jordan finds himself getting sicker and TJ pushes Karen to have problems with her bar routine. Jordan and Karen have also hit a rough patch with their relationship.

I feel like right as I am getting sucked into the story it just ends! That is one of the things I hate about serial novels. I really enjoy this story and I once started I couldn't put it down. I like Karen and Jordan and I didn't like that they were starting to have problems, when things could easily be better if they weren't stubborn. I am looking forward to reading the part of the story where Coach Bentley comes to the camp. I think that will add a nice twist to the story. The author does a good job of keeping me interested in the story throughout but I almost feel as though I need a little more from each part, it seems like just as I am getting excited that is when it ends! Can't wait for the next chapter in the story.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Ekkk! That is not a fun way to end a book! I'm dying for more.

The characters continue to be fun to be around and they are having lots of issues thrown at them. I feel like this book covers grief so realistically; day to day living can force it in to the background but it never takes much for it to come front and centre again. Karen's reactions feel raw and honest and as always she is using gymnastics to control her pain.

There is an introduction to a new character - TJ - in this one and he is an interesting character who I really want to know more about. He is a bit of a rough diamond but I love how he was able to help Karen in his very unconventional way.

My biggest complaint about this book is simply that it is just too short. I was really getting in to it and the drama had me captivated. So being cut off abruptly was a bit jarring.

Hopefully the wait for the next instalment isn't too far away! I don't like being teased :)

Continues the story of Karen and Jordan at gymnastics camp during the summer - kind of wish these three e-novellas were all just packaged together as a second book. I got a bit frustrated with Jordan in this one for not taking care of himself...

Trigger warnings: death of a parent (in the past, but she has nightmares that she's there), car accident (in the past, but she has nightmares that she's there), medical stuff.

So here's the problem with the sequels to Letters to Nowhere: they should be one book. Instead, Cross has split them up into a series of novellas, ostensibly so that people don't have to wait as long for the next bit of the story.

Except that even a novella needs a beginning, middle and end. It should be able to stand on its own two feet. These can't. And this one ESPECIALLY can't. You're thrown right into the middle of the story, there's a medical crisis of sorts, and then it ends just as it's getting interesting.

Which, sure. Have a cliffhanger ending to keep your audience hooked. Except that this wasn't even a cliffhanger ending. It was just the ending of a chapter, essentially. So yeah. One star for the gymnastics, one star for everything else.

Also, if someone has strep throat and they've been advised to have their tonsils out because they're SUPER BONKERS INFECTED? Maybe don't decide that it's sexy makeout time. Because ew.

Return to You is the second short installment in the series Letters to Nowhere. While, I feel as though this edition had a better plot than than the previous story, it is still lacking. Honestly, Julie Cross would've been better off just combining all of these short novellas into one longer book.

Return to You continues Karen and Jordan's story at camp. Nothing else really happens.

But, if you love short camp romance than this is for you.

4-1/2 stars. Return to You is like a return to the Karen and Jordan we got to know in Letters to Nowhere. This installment reminds us what we love about the series -- Jordan and Karen, Karen and gymnastics, and Jordan and his shaky relationship with his dad. As things begin to heat up between Jordan and Karen, things implode with Karen and the uneven bars after a particularly cutting remark by TJ. When Jordan doesn't step up to help Karen, TJ takes it upon himself to get her back on track. There's a lot more conflict in this than in volume 2, which ups the stakes from all angles. I can't wait to see what happens in Return to Us.

Plot
The main plot through this volume seems to be Karen's gymnastics performance and the struggles she faces. But her relationship with Jordan is a serious subplot if not a parallel plot. Now that they're together again, they take their relationship to the next level, which intensifies things. At least until Jordan get some bad news and doesn't react well to it, driving a wedge between them. There is also something going on with TJ that I'm not still clear about. The boy harbors deep, dark secrets and I have a feeling there's a lot there.

World Building
While gymnastics is still the focal point of the world building, the summer camp is vividly woven in, with campers, cabins, and camp activities that makes the story come alive in an exciting new way.

Characters
Watching Karen struggle with gymnastics again after recent successes feels so authentic. It doesn't matter which sport you participate in, no matter how well you did in the past, there's always a concern about the next event, the next performance, the next race, so the fact she's doubting herself again is not at all surprising and rather refreshing. Watching Jordan deal with his issues and pushing Karen away is totally within his character and it gives us a chance to watch both of them continue to grow and develop as characters. We also get a little bit more insight into TJ and Stevie which is fun. Those two are intriguing.

Top Five Things I Love About Return to Sender
1. Karen's Loyalty - To both her boyfriend and her coach. Her sense of loyalty is one of the things I've always loved about her.

2. Jordan's Fear - Without going into details, Jordan's fear, although somewhat irrational, is just another dimension that makes him come across as so real.

3. The Jaren Conflict - I'm not big on conflict for conflict's sake, but the tension between these two is a key plot point and really well done.

4. The Little Campers - They provide a few moments of some much needed comic relief.

5. The TJ/Stevie Dynamic - I can't wait to see where this is going.

Bottom Line
Return to You picks up the pace from where Return to Sender left off, raising the stakes and increasing the tension. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Entrada completa:

I received a free copy in exchange for honest feedback.

Return to You picks up where Return to Sender left off. Karen and Jordan are at a gymnastics camp together and things aren't going so well. Karen can't get this one move right, and her confidence is shattered. While Jordan tries to help, Karen can't help pushing him away.

This is the third book in the series, and while I still had mixed feelings about this one and the second being shorter installments than the novel length first, this one really showed me that I like this series in the shorter installments. Karen and Jordan have all this incredible potential for character development and these shorter installments really tap into that possibly better so than a novel would. In Return to You, Karen's character grows and struggles, and her emotions leap off the page. Her struggle with her gymnastics move is painful, but the beauty of her growing maturity and closure is wonderful.

The new character, TJ, is a great addition to the story. I like his tough attitude and quietly kind heart. I definitely hope to see more of him in later installments.

Overall, another great addition to this series by Julie Cross. I look forward to seeing what else these books have to offer and how things turn out for Karen and Jordan.

I'm very glad I had both books to read at once... This short stories are kinda well, short and they end so abruptly that I was going to go insane.. Kinda like right now with number 3.

This one picks up right after #2.

Jordan is getting si ker while Karen is having some issues with her rutines and none is ready to talk about it.

TJ is being TJ so sometimes he helps... Sometimes not much!

I particulary enjoyed, in a way that made me sad, that Jordan and Karen are having some problems.

He was always there for her and I guess that was his way of dealing with his own problems but now that Karen wants to help him things aren't so easy.

The connection between them though keeps getting stronger and reading about how their relationship develops is great.

They are so comfortable with each other in a way and Karen gets so awkward sometimes I just love the whole experience.

Another thing I love is that this stories are told in dual POV so we get to be inside of Jordan's head!!

I really can't wait to see what happens next and more than anything, see what happens with Jordan. Julie said she just got a system for releasing this stories so I'll let you know when the next ones are out and ready!

(Source: I own a copy of this book.)
This is part 3 of Jordan and Karen’s story.

This was okay, but it was really short, and took a while to get in to.
This book was more about Jordan than Karen, and more about fears than gymnastics. We did find out a bit more about Jordan’s illness, which could have become more of a storyline, but the book was just too short. Karen also had something to overcome, but again, it was only just covered, because this was so short.
I think the main problem with this book was that it was like a few chapters out of the middle of a book, and the storylines weren’t developed enough. Just as I was really getting into it, it ended, which was a real shame. I really want to know what happens to Jordan and Karen next, but I want a full-length book, not these silly little snippets.
Overall; too short.
6 out of 10.

i received ARC for my honest review, i have loved the first two book greatly. the third book is just as great. i only have one complaint and its that i can't get enough of Karen and Jordan. and in this story we add TJ and he is a refreshing add to the already great characters.. in this third book you have a little trouble in the relationship, which it is only natural that they would in every relationship there are times that they are tested and this couple is no different. the question is will there dedication to each other be enough to keep them together.
only down fall is i have to wait for book 4 and i have to say it is worth the wait. i recommend if you have not read this series get on it.

Though this is good, I can't imagine why Julie Cross is writing this series in this manner, because one more part and the third book would have been ready...
Coming to this "book" it's very nice and I really did liked the turn the story is taking and I hate to see Jaren separated but then again it's the first relationship for either of them, let's see where the Jaren goes and the Gymnastics are very awesome to read and I'm totally waiting for Karen to make it Olympics.

Desperately waiting for the next installment..

I am so glad I came across these books. I love the writing style, I love the story and I love Jordan and Karen. The one thing I don't love is the shortness of the last 2 books. I would have much preferred to wait until they were all put into a full lenghth novel like Letters to Nowhere. The story, while it is flowing well, is becoming disjointed with the starts and stops. I am however looking forward to the continuation of their story. Thank you for creating the world of Jordan and Karen. :)

I loved the first on of this series and the second one pretty good too. However it seems like the 2,3,and 4 books end like in the middle of something each time and then you pretty much have to buy the next one just to finish the story line---plus they are really short. I think books 2,3,4 could all be one book and that would be better than three short books. Kind of disappointing all around and reading 60 pages then buying another 60 page book ruined the story from the first book. I liked the first one the best--the story is really good.

I love the characters and the story! Karen and Jordan are sweet, lovable, and dealing with more in their fair share in life. They complement one another and bring out the best in each other. I will definitely be waiting for the next part of the story. My one and only complaint is that it was too short. I felt like I was just getting into the groove of the story and then it was over. I think I would rather wait a little longer and get more story so that I wouldn't be frustrated.

Yeah curiosity got the best of me and I just couldn't stop myself from reading Part 3. Seriously though, now I'm super curious about TJ because we know so little about him and we see only little snippets of TJ's life. After deciding that these little novellas weren't as bad as I thought they have came out to be;I still preferred if all these stories in one novel. I think its safe to say that I will be reading Part four to this series.

WTH?!?!!! Ok I thought the last book was odd and too short, this one was a million times worse! Literally nothing happens! And the author even used precious pages on focusing on things like TJ! Forget that, also too much gym stuff, we want to read the Karen and Jordan stuff!!

Sigh, I don't know how much more of this I can bare. I don't see myself following these short stories too much longer, especially if they are not even released rapidly. It's all so bizzare...

What is the point? I wish she'd just ended Book 1 with happily ever after instead of these unworthy follow-ups where nothing really happens but nothing ever ends. It's almost worse than those afternoon soaps in the 90's.

Pretty good, but felt really short and incomplete. Wished it had been put together with the previous part and the next part to make a full novel.
Still the series is good, and I like the characters.
