Rate this book
The energy of creation is real. According to Dr. Caroline Myss, this unlimited power source is available right now―if you know the science of how to access it.

Now, for the first time, this bestselling author and medical intuitive reveals a bold program for excavating the deep unconscious forces that block the flow of energy through your life with Advanced Energy Anatomy. On this nine-session curriculum, Dr. Myss reviews her results with thousands of people in search of healing, and identifies the one power that can literally change the your power of choice. Each choice you make can bring you into partnership with the divine, Dr. Myss teaches, in a sacred process between you and the divine that she calls co-creation.

To open the divine mystery and work with it as your partner in creation, Dr. Myss identifies four central archetypes and seven principles of co-creation. Join Dr. Myss as she explores how to work with these principles, and apply them to the most important areas of your money, relationships, career, creativity, and spirituality.

Advanced Energy Anatomy guides you to a new understanding of how archetypes and other unconscious forces relate to problems of health, addiction, self-esteem, and victimhood, while opening you to partnership with the divine power that makes everything in life possible.

Caroline Myss was born on December 2, 1952 in Chicago, and grew up with her parents, and two brothers, one elder and one younger, in the Melrose Park, Illinois neighbourhood near Chicago. Caroline was raised a Catholic, and attended the Mother Guerin High School, River Grove, Illinois, run by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana in 1974, and started her career in journalism in Chicago.

In the course of her career, she interviewed Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, M.D., the author of the famous book, On Death and Dying, which inspired her to pursue a Master's degree in theology from Mundelein College, Chicago, which she completed in 1979. She also claims to hold a Ph.D in "intuition and energy medicine", but the degree was granted by Greenwich University, a now-defunct correspondence school that was never accredited to deliver higher education awards by any recognized government accreditation authority.

She started giving medical intuitive readings in 1982 and co-founded a small New Age publishing company, Stillpoint Publishing in Walpole, New Hampshire, where she also worked as an editor in 1983, next she began consulting with holistic doctors, which in 1984, led to her extensive collaboration with Dr. Norman Shealy, an M.D. schooled at Harvard, and the founder of the American Holistic Medical Association, with whom she later co-authored, "Aids: Passageway to Transformation," in 1987, followed by "The Creation of Health: The Emotional, Psychological, and Spiritual Responses that Promote Health and Healing," in 1988. Deriving from her practice as a medical intuitive, she started writing books, in the field of energy medicine, and healing, all of which became New York Times Best Sellers.[18] Starting with Anatomy of the Spirit: The Seven Stages of Power and Healing (1996), which overlapped seven Christian sacraments with seven Hindu chakras and the Kabbalah's Tree of Life to create a map of the human "energy anatomy"; this was followed by Why People Don't Heal and How They Can (1998), which explored the reasons people do not heal through her concept of "woundology." Her next book, Sacred Contracts: Awakening Your Divine Potential (2002) dealt with the issue of finding "Life Purpose," while describing Sacred Contracts as "a set of assignments that our soul had formed around before incarnation". She has since appeared on the The Oprah Winfrey Show numerous times.

By 2000, she discontinued doing private medical intuitive readings, and instead started teaching it, through her workshops, seminars, radio shows and guided tours. She tours internationally as a speaker on spirituality and mysticism, and lives in Oak Park, Illinois, near Chicago. In 2003, she started the Caroline Myss Educational Institute, with Wisdom University in San Francisco.

Her 2007 book, "Entering the Castle" draws upon the writings of Saint Teresa of Ávila, a 16th century Carmelite nun, who wrote her most important work, The Interior Castle, towards the end of her life.

I LOVED this book. So much good advise and new perspectives gleaned from listening to the full 9 hours. Caroline Myss has a different way of seeing things and explaining them in an entertaining and engaging way. Every session had me thinking and feeling really good about my life. So many challenges in the past began to click, the reasons why, and how to improve myself and my perspective moving forward into the future. I highly recommend this to anyone on a path of personal growth and self improvement, whether you are just beginning or have been gathering inspiration for years!

I LOVED this book. I took my time listening to it, often going backwards before continuing on, to be sure I was really grasping each concept. This is a book I will be reading more than once and I'll likely start my next read before the month is up! Carolyn Myss is such a resource and her easy delivery makes understanding and application simple. For me her teachings strike me more as reminders of something I've always known, even if I'm hearing it for the first time. This book is all about the energy of creation and how that energy shows up in our lives and in our bodies and the myriad ways in which we block, resist and refuse to use the energy available to each of us. She provides numerous examples and techniques for choosing IN to the universal flow.

These lectures open your eyes to why you do the things you do to block your progression and surrender to God. This is probably the best I’ve heard from Caroline Myss.

Here’s a sample:

Breaking Addictive Patterns.

The hardest thing to do is become congruent.

If you’re upset you’re incongruent.

An addiction is a way we block an act of surrender to God. We are terrified of the ultimate act of the human experience. Our greatest gift is the gift of choice. Our ultimate act is the surrender of choice.

We are completely terrified of doing the one thing that every spiritual path requires which is—surrender your will to a higher authority and that higher authority will take care of you.

It’s almost like we have to keep our will splintered in a million other places as a way of slowing down getting to that question of surrender.

One of the reasons why heaven leads us from one experience to another where we feel powerless...Inevitably addiction will make you feel powerless. And in that powerlessness, what is waiting for you when you enter the space of powerlessness is the prayer, “unto You I surrender.

When you fall down is where you’re liberated. And you fall into that prayer, “Take it—I can’t handle it any more.

So addiction is a way that we create at an unconscious level, keeping our will away from the act of surrender because it so terrifies us. If we surrender to an addiction we can’t surrender to God.

This six audio-tape set is one of the best uses of my time that I have made in the last month. There is so much of value here. Tape two foreshadows her book on Sacred Archetypes which I have studied. For some reason I understood her concept of "prostitute" more easily through this cassette than through the book. The activity of dialoguing with these archetypes is a great way to do a spiritual journal, one I want to pursue.

Surrounding myself with Myss's work as a body in the past month has made each of the works more influential than they have been separately in the past. I've got to wonder if some of her materials aren't channeled. (The 8th chakra as "down-load"). Her training is not in human development so much as in journalism and theory, though she did study schizophrenia in graduate school. She has thought through her concepts thoroughly and illustrates them clearly.

I have spent much of the past seven years learning about co-creation. This tape set adds to and fleshes out that study beautifully.

A brilliant look at how chakras work along with the archetypes we all carry inside of us. It is narrated by Caroline Myss and is available on Hoopla. My only complaint is that I made the mistake of listening to this while I was driving and was unable to take notes. This title is perfect for fans of Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, and Eben Alexander. It might be too woo-woo for the Brene Brown crowd.

This is a must read for anyone! If you think you know what is going on in your head, your body, you are going to waste years on making bad choices and endorsing the same behaviors that plague you know. Don't think you have any--you do! Carolyn will show you how to find them and start dealing with them.

Synchronicities for me right now with this book were amazing. Really developed an understanding of my imbalanced saboteur. References to god and angels I just replaced with higher self and guides but it’s not particularly religious. It’s a good way to understand the human condition through her archetypes and goes into understanding the chakras. Overall a great template for going into your inner work.

First book of 2012! I started to panic when I realized January was almost over and I hadn't finished a single book. I normally read several books a month. I guess I've been just a little busy so far this year!

This is a great book - Love Caroline Myss - She always makes me think deeply and from unique angles.

Was enjoyable to listen to. I got the audible book as this is something I'm trying to do. Being in lockdown can't get to the book and charity shops.
Certainly got a few inspirations and lessons to help me on my life and spiritual path.
And interesting learning how my 4 archetypes play a role in my daily life.

I found this one interesting. I've not read personalities put in the way she describes these, but it's to the point and how it is. The four archetypes of survival, very eye-opening and relatable.
It was clear that our power is immeasurable and it's our responsibility to go claim it.

This book entered my life at a time , where I quite distinctly feel that I have been on a spiritual journey...over the past several months. Over those past few months, I have also been reading the spiritual writers like Neville Goddard , who talks about both spirituality and manifestation.
And especially when it comes to explaining manifestation- and how it happens in terms of energy etc...this book yet again, was something that came at such an apt time for me. Really profound!

Every time I read this book, I get a new revelation. Myss has so much content in this book, it is impossible to absorb in all in on or even two readings. If you are on a spiritual path, this book just may help your journey.

I listened to this on one of my business trips. I had a six state territory and a lot of drive time. I was rapt. It was very interesting and Myss read it with a very pleasant voice.

I read this about 10 years ago and came back to it again. Amazing! It is so rich, and I met the material on a new level, having learned so much about myself and the world in the past decade.
