It's OK. I liked the reveal at the end but otherwise this was pretty meandering and unremarkable

I like this book because it was funny, like when she threw the bucket into the water and she took a baby penguin out of the icy area!

The main character is Daisy and she is a bit naughty and not clever because she does silly things and she never listens to her mum.

I didn't like it when the rhinoceros did a big wee and when the llama spat at Daisy!

This book was great. And would be fab to get young readers into chapter books. Daisy will be a familiar character to many young readers from Kes Gray’s picture books about the same character.

In this adventure, Daisy is turning 7 and for her birthday she’s going on a super special trip to the zoo with her 2 best friends. She’s also having a super special treat and feeding the penguins. The trouble with zoos is they don’t always make things clear yo7 year old girls who only have a few short years life experience which leads to plenty of trouble!

As a penguin fan myself I loved Daisy’s first hand recount of her adventure and if I’m honest, I’d love to do what she did!! As a 32 year old teacher I know that if be in serious strife! And get pecked to bits!!

Asa teacher, I have every intention of sharing this book with my class. They’ve come to share my love of penguins and will enjoy sharing this story together. Short chapters and lots of funny moments will make for a great class story (mentions of poo and wee will help add to the hilarity I’m sure!!)

Daisy and her two best friends get to go to the zoo for Daisy's birthday surprise as she's allowed to feed the penguins and we see how Daisy manages to find troublesome points about everything including the animals along the way, from white white rhinos not being white, spitting llama's and melting mini rolls, things aren't all as Daisy would like!

Daisy is such a humorous character, cheeky and daring too I love the series and can't wait for more Daisy drama!

I really like this book, but there is a mistake. In this book it said Daisy's birthday was in March but in Daisy and the Trouble with Piggy Banks it said it was in February. Apart from that I rally enjoyed this book because it has facts about animals, and also it is Daisy's birthday. Daisy is funny and naughty at the same time.

As an adult, I really like this book. The simplicity and joy of going to the zoo for the first time and discovering all the animals. A lot of animals were mentioned in the book that even I didn't know of. I found the book really funny and entertaining. Typical Daisy was obviously causing mischieve and making her mum go crazy but that's the fun of Daisy books.

Brilliant story as usual, it’s Daisy’s birthday and they are off to the zoo to feed the penguins, all is the usual funny chaos, until daisy misunderstands the idea of adopting a penguin. Love these stories

Daisy saw a lot of animals at the zoo. She feeds the penguins and brings a penguin back home. At last, her mum found that and she gave it back to the zoo.

This might possibly be the best Daisy story yet.... although it is a fiercely contended issue. Nature, London, Jack..... they're all so good.

One of my favorite picture book characters is now the star of her own chapter book series. Daisy, of Eat Your Peas fame is celebrating her birthday by going to the zoo with her mom and her two best friends. The best part of the whole day is that her mother arranged so she could help the Zoo keeper feed the penguins! Who could ask for a better birthday? Daisy gets over-excited and hits a couple of snags throughout the day. Thanks to her ever-patient mother and great friends, she survives even if the zoo doesn't.
This is a fun read with great illustrations for 2nd grade and up. The only problem I had was the use of a lot of British slang yet no glossary to explain them to those of us not familiar with such terms. I had to google a few just to understand what kind of sandwich she chose for her birthday luncheon. But all-in-all a cute little chapter book and I definitely recommend the Daisy picture books as well.

'Daisy and the Trouble with Zoos' is about a birthday girl and her special day. For Daisy's birthday surprise treat, mum arranges a trip to the zoo for Daisy and her two best friends. Mum also manages to arrange for Daisy to feed the Penguins at the Zoo.

This book is a great read with funny parts throughout however I did think it dragged on a little and had too many chapters. The story starts off with Daisy telling us about her birthday without giving too much away and you soon realise by the end of the first chapter that Daisy somehow may have gotten herself into trouble at the zoo and its not until the last few chapters that we find out what Daisy got up to at the Zoo.

The book is very educational with lots of information about animals and there's a bit of Maths in the first chapter about factions to get kids thinking. The illustrations also really helped with scene settings.

I would recommend this book for age 7+. Also good for guided reading.

‘Daisy and the trouble with Zoos tells the story of Daisy and her surprise trip to the zoo as a birthday treat. Daisy is accompanied to the zoo by her friends Dylan and Gabby which she thinks is the extra-special surprise her mum had told her she would be getting. She then finds out that the extra-special treat is to feed the penguins. Daisy explains in the first chapter that something does not go to plan at the zoo. The trouble that Daisy causes comes to light at the end of the book.

Throughout the book Daisy finds trouble with numerous things, something I am sure that many children would also relate to.

This book is funny throughout. There is an introduction to maths in the first chapter and facts about the animals throughout the book. The illustrations are a great addition.

This book would be good for independent reading for 7-8 year olds. It could also be used to read to the class in the lower years.
