Success is not an Accident fell way short of expectations. Although it had good points about and ways to set and maintain goals, it is largely full of sell indulgent rants geared towards the narcissistic populace that thinks of them selves and no one else. It has an attitude that everyone, no matter who you are, can follow and use the same exact blue print for success. It also teaches improper manners and encourages lying. Page 98- When somebody unexpectedly drops in, stand up and begin to leave. "I am on my way out.: and hold the meeting right there. Then go to the bathroom, or down the hall, whatever, then get back to work. Pretty dishonest, and misleading at the very least. Then there is the whole outdated ideas of how to keep goals with out the use of computers, smart phones, etc. Save your time and get your motivational material somewhere else from a book published this decade.

If you want to lead an extraordinary life, first observe what ordinary people do and then don't do it!. A superb idea exploded in this book.

What will happen if you jump from 37th floor of a building?. Everything will have consequences. Be aware of your choices and actions. Matters so simply and candidly stated in this style by this book make this book very interesting and close to me.

This is a very frank and resourceful and clear book for any one who wants to understand himself better and to understand the basics [always important] of success and to elevate his success and joy in life. A beginner, novice or a professional successful man or a hard core successful woman---anybody can get many benefits by reading this book and by implementing the proven principles etc. outlined so well in this simply good book. The tone is direct, open and friendly.

This book might become your friend!.

I read this book by recommendation from my brother. He enjoyed it, and so did I. A lot of practical thinking, and strategies that are simple to apply, yet for most people the one thing that stands in the way of success is a lack of discipline. To accomplish most things in life, your efforts must be disciplined. You can make mistakes along the way, but persistence will bridge the gap between you where you desire to be.

While I read this book as a free Amazon download, it is worth paying hardcover price for this book if you are interested in self improvement of yourself and your business. New berry brings in aspects of motivation, organization, and your personal health and sums them up in a concise way. In addition, his discussion of self talk and self empowerment only covers a chaper or two. But follows the princles I have spent years studying in various religious, new age, and spiritual texts, and the principles included within are sound. This author is handing you the skills to create a magical sense of self and life in a simple, easy to read format. however, do note that this author does cite Christian bible verses and the like--it would be a better sell in this secular society to leave such things to religious books. That said, it is minimized after the first few chapters, so you don't feel like you are beginning given a chastising biblical sermon.

Overall, this is a great book! It preps you to become successful, and shows you that the only person that can possibly hold you back from being your successful self is the person that you see in the mirror. Therefore, you must train yourself to take charge and make him work for you to accomplish all of your goals! My only major complaint about this book, also leading to the rating a 4 of 5, is that it is completely and overly religious. From the introduction and all the way to the end the book is put only into a conservative christian's perspective, and leaving no room for people who are of other religions. However, though you may be of another religion I would highly recommend you reading this book while either ignoring or applying the religious phrases to your religion.

I enjoyed it. It's a lot of common sense information redone. We all learned how to make money and be successful, but it seems like we have a mental blocker to turn it off.

One of the beginning principles discussed was reaping vs sowing. (Sounds like Sunday School doesn't it?) How can you harvest a crop if you never planted? It's brilliant!

If you are in any type of business class...take some time and read this book with a highlighter in hand.

A lot of common sense stuff but a refresher is always good. I especially like the lessons following each chapter. I feel like I have something concrete now to work with and I'm confident now more than ever that I will reach my goals. This book was very motivating and fun to read.

Fairly light read, a little long in a few places but not nearly to the extent I assumed. Great motivator to re-evaluate and restructure your goals and how you are progressing (or not!) through them.
