Science-Fiction/ Fantasy Erotica bred to my exact specifications...

In the year 3509, the company called DNAmo invented the men called Shareem.
They were taller than conventional men, strong, blue-eyed, long-cocked, firm-assed. They knew how to bring a woman to ecstasy and exactly how to keep her there.
The Shareem were DNAmo’s biggest success, but they were also its downfall.
The Shareem were trained in every sexual art. They were offered in one of three levels—pure sensual pleasure, games and wicked fun, or the ultimate Dom.
Welcome to the planet Bor Narga where women are the ruling class. It's been twenty years since DNAmo went bankrupt and their cash crop of Shareem let loose - they are the lowest of the low in a society which shuns sex in favor of philosophy and science; they are viewed with curiosity and fear.

REES
aka Shareem # R294E8S

Rees was the ultimate Shareem. A level three, times ten. No one had ever known the extent of what he could do.
He was learning now.
Rees is an experiment which went wrong. He was completely out of control and was about to be terminated before escaping DNAmo in the days before the company folded. He's been laying low, practicing his skills on the willing women of Bor Narga who are brave enough to seek out the infamous Shareem. But when an intriguing innocent girl starts following him, he finds himself helpless to the pull of a female for the first time in his life.

TALAN
aka Lady Talan d’Urvey

Talan had a feeling she would either regret her choice, or treasure the memory for the rest of her life.
Probably both.
Talan is a highborn woman and a avid student of philosophy. She is studying to free her mind from her body... She finds the diary of a woman who spent time with one of the legendary Shareem. Now she's curious, studying them, and her curiosity gets the better of her when she finally sees one in the flesh. She follows him and eventually decides to succumb to his charms before she gives herself completely to the Order of the Star...

This is a story which features:
deflowering,
oral sex,
vaginal sex,
anal sex,
bondage,
spanking,
whipping,
MFM menage...

I should also mention that this book had more than a dozen grammatical and continuity errors which would have necessitated a lower rating had I not been so enamored with the story.

This is high fantasy and supremely entertaining. The sexual situations make for the majority of the storyline, but there is a fun plot with a sweet love story and a HAE...

You may have read books by Allyson James with her other penname, that is Jennifer Ashley. Jennifer Ashley specializes in shifters romance and historical romance.
“Tales of the Shareem is a way different series. You may call it Sci-Fi Erotica, but the truth is that there are not many sci-fi elements in the series. The stories are mostly erotica in a vintage kind of way. It was published in 2007 and 10 years ago smut was not so widely read. And this series is definitely quality erotica or smut, you pick.

So, in a far far away planet, Bor Narga, and in the year 3509, the company called DNAmo invented the men called Shareem. Shareem were invented purely for sexual pleasure. They knew how to seduce and they never denied a woman.
Of course they were perfect. Beautiful, tall, muscular with perfect hair and perfect blue eyes and with the perfect “equipment.
They came in three versions:
Level 1 i.e. sensual pleasure (touching and massage experts)
Level 2 i.e. fun pleasure (a little bit of everything, all fun and games)
Level 3 i.e. domination (whips and collars and pain)

When the planet inhabitants decide that sexual desire is a bad thing, and nobody should be allowed to feel it; the company goes bankrupt. As a result all Shareems are suddenly free and they become the lowest of the low in a society occupied mostly of women who are interested in philosophy and not sex. And poor Shareems are not allowed to leave the planet!

Of course not all women are not interested in exploring their sexuality. When Lady Talan d'Urvey reads the diary of a woman who spent time with a Shareem, she decides that she wants to meet a Shareem too only for scientific purposes of course.
So, she meets Rees.
Rees is also captivated by Talan's beauty and innocence and he agrees to help her with her “experimentation. The problem is that Rees is not level 1, 2 or 3. Rees is simply Rees. And he is dangerous. Maybe Talan has got more than she has bargained for.

The books have been republished with new book covers, but I have to say that I adore the old ones. If you like erotica, try this series.

Quick "review": I liked the story - which wasn't only about sex, although there were many love scenes to please erotica/romantica readers - and I really liked the characters (Rees, Talan & Rio). I didn't like the ménage scenes - not only because I'm not into sharing, but mainly because those scenes didn't fit the story. I mean, Rees was extremely jealous and possessive, to the point of warning Rio to stay away from Talan; so how am I supposed to believe that he was more than OK with sharing her with his friend? Sorry, it didn't make sense! As it was, I felt like the ménage scenes were included for titillating purposes only.

All in all, this was a very enjoyable read to me and I plan to read the next books in the series.

Lady Talan is chaste and celibate and has never known the touch of a man. After reading the diary of a highborn lady about her one week experience with a Shareem , Talan deceides to experience the pleasure of a Shareem herself.
The Shareem was genetically enhanced male created for the purpose of pleasuring women. There are 3 levels of Shareems. Level one is for sensuality, level two for wicked games and level three is the dominant.
When Talan meets Rees she does not know what level he is but assumes he is level two. In actuallity Rees is a genetically experiement gone wrong. He is all three levels and alot more. Since he was so unpredictable I was pulled into the story right away wondering what would happen next.
This story has very explicit sex, bondage, anal, spanking and menage a trois. The story flows along very well and the H/H were very likable. It's also a very nice love story.

I really enjoyed this quick erotic story, I didn't think I would but I did! A sexy story about Rees the gentically modified Shareem created from multiple DNA for the sole purpose of pleasuring ladies, however he had too much of the 'hotness' DNA and was deemed too dangerous! Now living a quite life, not exactly in hidding but keeping himself off the radar he suddenly finds himself in the hands of the delectable Lady Talan, naive and virtuous she desires to 'know' a man before devoting herself to seclusion and a higher cause. What happens next leads Lady Talan to re~evaluate and Rees to come to terms with who he really is.

For an erotic story this was really nice I soon found myself pulled into the ScFi fantasy world created by James. The sex was part of the story and well written so at no point did it 'feel' wrong or tacky or ick me out. Rees did his job and Lady Talan experienced what she asked him to provide. I definately want to find out more about the Shareem and hope that there is book for Rees' friend Rio who provided the third in the sweet little menage scene.

Warning:- graphic, M/F/M, anal and oral scenes.

WARNING! Do NOT attempt to read this book at work unless you work at home, work with your SO or maybe in a adult store of some kind. Yowza. Also not a good idea to read some of it before going on a first date. Lessons learned the hardway. Loved it. Can't wait to read more of the series. I didn't read the short that came before it and didn't feel lost at all.

Story was OK but it didn't grab a hold of me like I was hoping. There was lots of sex between Rees and Talan but it somehow felt mechanical and forced. I just needed more...

I decided to give this a try because I really like Allyson James and I was looking for something with a little more "spice" (I was in a mood, ok?). I wasn't really expecting a great stroy or fleshed out characters, I kinda figured it would be more erotica than anything else considering the short story that introduced the series (Eland) wasn't really too deep (that's the thing with short stories, they can make it tough to decide if a series is good when it's the prequel). So color me surprised when I found strong and fairly well-defined characters, a story that actually had some meat to it along with an over-arching plot line that allowed the series to continue on with other characters (most of whom were introdued in this book). Although it certainly wasn't one of my top picks and can't compare with Allyson's Stormwalker series, I will say that if you enjoy erotica, descriptive sex scenes, and mild (mostly) B/D all mixed in with a decent story/plot line, then this is well worth the time...but make sure you have a fan and a cool drink near by!

Where can I find my own Shareem? Oh, that's right, this was fantasy. Bummer. Lol! I loved how human Rees was. Yes, he was created, and yes, his creators had no idea how to control him, but he did an impressive job of making a life for himself after he escaped DNAmo. Talan was so sweet, and like Lady Pet, I was glad when she started standing up for herself. Ultimately, she knew what she wanted and she went and grabbed it. Rio sounds like a pretty decent guy himself, though oddly, he seemed less human than Rees.

An enjoyable story... lots of good steamy sex. I'll probably continue with the series eventually, but I'm going to wait a bit.

After about one quarter of the book I have to move it to my DNF shelf.

I expected a sizzling hot story with a good portion of sexytime and some adventure and excitement.
What I got was only sexytime and no story. NO STORY AT ALL.
I'm not against sex in books at all, just take a look at some of the books I like and you will see that quite clearly.
However, if I am to read porn, I would just buy one from Amazon. That is not my cup of tea though, I need some PNR in the mix! Some action, a story, some excitement. This book, for me, is just a whole lotta sex scenes and nothing else.

Oooooookay. So yeah, there was a lot of sexytimes right after I posted my last update.

I knew this was sci fi erotica, but um...I didn't expect the DP. Not at all. From what I remember, the blurb didn't suggest anything like that.

Still scratching my head over it.

Wasn't really drawn in by the storyline, either. Props for the attempts at creating this alterna-world, though.

I really wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. I had no connection with the characters. The beginning of the story lacked a setting so it took a while to figure out exactly what was going on and then in chapter 3 you got the background story. As soon as the story was picking up it was over.

This was really a 2 star story but I gave the extra star for the cover....yummy!!!!

Science Fiction Erotica

REES is the first book in the Tales of the Shareem series. Allyson James also writes other other names including Jennifer Ashley. This book was my first foray into this pseudonym. The book is definitely of the erotica variety with much more explicit and graphic and exotic than your more typical romance novel.

Tales of the Shareem are about a group of men genetically engineered to be sex slaves for women. The men have been fed from the corporation that created them but line on the fringes of society that heavily restricts their rights. In that way the overarching story reminds me somewhat of the Shifters stories that she writes as Jennifer Ashley. This book tells the story of Rees a Shareem who was an experimental prototype. He meets Lady Talan d'Urvey who lives in the world that rejects physical sexual pleasure. The two of course end up have a lot of sex. This story is deeper than the sex. There is a true story and relationship between the characters. For me, the only discordant note is the m/m/f parts which seem to be counter to Rees possessive feelings toward Talan.

Overall, I liked the story but the book is debate erotica so caveat emptor.

4.5 Oh my!

This was extremely erotic. Extremely. The whole premise of men genetically engineered for sex is a totally guilty pleasure. Totally ridiculous, yet i couldnt resist purchasing and reading it. I liked the universe this author created, and how these hot men became second class citizens who have to struggle to find true happiness in a corrupt system. I like how they have their own unique, sexy brand of nobility.

This is the first in the series, and I feel like the author may have overplayed her hand by presenting her readers with Rees, the ultimate shareem. He seems to be the sexiest of all the shareem, according to his backstory. Should she have saved his story for the last of the series? I kind of don't want to read any of the others, since I don't see how any of the others could possibly top Rees. None of the others have, shall we say, his range? I liked how Rees fell hard for the heroine, which was touching. But I didn't like the heroine that much. She was not very interesting. Rees needed a more worthy partner, though I know her sweetness (i.e.blandness) was part of her whole appeal to him.

This was my first book, by Allyson James, but it will not be my last. I loved the premise of this book a lady(Talen), is curious about the Shareem after reading another lady's diary. So she follows one(Rees)and the both feel a connection.

This book is highly erotic and it had the perfect measure of eroticism and romance. I don't think I have ever met a hero quite like Rees, but I am looking forward to learning more about Rio(secondary character and Rees friend).

Since I tend to babble(as you can see above), I will end this by saying that if you like erotic romance(and who doesn't,lol), you should definitely read this. You will not be disappointed in the least.

In the year 3035, women are supposed to not to want carnal pleasures, to study instead to reach fulfillment. Impregnation is done in sterile facilities to avoid human contact.
Lady Talan is curious, she´s found a diary where a lady describes her falling for a Shareem, how he taught her love and sensual pleasure.
Scientists created Shareems as an experiment to give satisfaction.
They come in three different levels, sensual pleasure, games or domination. Alana stumbles upon Rees, a Shareem, and convinces him to teach her what he knows, not knowing that he´s a level all to himself.
Futuristic, smutty fluff and dominating Alpha males.

This does exactly what it says on the tin (or cover). I mean it is a series about men who are developed for pleasuring women, how bad can that be? It's also really easy reading, this series has the potential to become a guilty pleasure.

Gave this 2.5 stars because it was a little shaky. Rather than a solid erotic romance I was hoping for, it went up, down and bounced all over the room.
I didn't think the main characters had much chemistry but that's just me.

Loved the idea of the Shareem, though!

Mikor elolvastam a fülszövegét, felkeltette a figyelmemet a sztori.

Mivel a férfiak elhaláloztak, a nőknek kellett átvenniük a munkáikat is. Ők a tökéletes szexrabszolgák - nőknek.

A második szint a játéké. A hármas szint a legveszélyesebb, ezen szint férfijai mesterei a BDSM-nek, avagy kötözés, náspángolás, anális behatolás.

Living in a world where physical sex has been deemed unnecessary; Lady Talan d’Urvey has decided, after reading a journal she found, that she wants to give sex a try and find out what she might be missing before she commits herself to following “The Way of the Star and living a life of elevated intellectual celibacy. What harm could it do? She’ll have a little fun learning all she can and after she satisfies her curiosity she’ll be able to commit herself to her religious pursuits with a clean conscious knowing she has chosen the right path for her life. After searching, finding and meeting a Shareem named Rees she decides that this Shareem is the Shareem for her. Being sexy, fun and only a second level Shareem, Rees is perfect for her plans. Little does she know but her plans aren’t the same as Rees.

Rees, a genetically engineered and enhanced male Shareem created to give women ultimate pleasure, is aroused and intrigued by the naive Talan when she follows him into a holo-block. So when her foster mother, Lady Pet, kidnaps him he decides that helping Talan loose her virginity is defiantly something he would love to do. Talan may believe that he is a second level Shareem, meant only to give her wicked fun and games, but Rees knows that he is no second level or even third level Shareem. Rees is the ultimate Shareem; he is all the sensual levels and more rolled into one. No one, not even Rees, knows his full sexual potential but Talan just may be the woman to bring it out, and if she does watch out he doesn’t know what will happen but he is sure it is something best to be avoided. To bad he can’t.

REES is the first book in the TALES OF THE SHAREEM series by new author Allyson James and it is a wonderful beginning. I found my introduction, like Talans, to the Shareem to be totally satisfying. I sizzled with the heat and chuckled at the humor, to me that makes a wonderful book that was worth my time to read. As you can probably tell the love scenes were searing hot and Rio, a Shareem friend of Rees, was worth the read alone. He was a great addition to the story; I can’t wait for his book! I feel confident in recommending TALES OF THE SHAREEM: REES it is a story you will enjoy reading over and over again.

A review

I can honestly say that after this book I am a fan of Allyson James, and without any doubt I will be reading more from this series. I downloaded this from Amazon for free but after reading it and being pleasantly surprised I don't think I would mind paying for the others.

I'll start of with what I did like...which was most of the story actually. The world James created was wonderful and thought out, and even had history. The writing was clearly the work of someone who knows the art and it didn't feel like some cheap fan-fic you read when no one is around. I loved the idea of the Shareem and the amount of detail that went into them. They are not just men created for sex, they are men who very good at what they do and they even have different levels for it. The main character, Talan, was delightful and sweet, and I enjoyed reading about her journey to understand her body and desires. She's naive but not embarrassingly so. Then of course there is Rees, and oh how I love him. He's sexy, smart and even capable of humor. Talk about melt worthy...of course there is the matter of his size, which of course was a little much for me. 12 inches...that got a laugh and a cringe out of me at the same time. I also like Rio and I'll probably read through the second book just so I can get to the book that focuses on him. The sex was great of course and it varied throughout, it was hot when it needed to be and soft when necessary. I think what I liked the most about this is that there was an actual story behind it, and the character development was unique.

Now for the things I didn't like. Well it's really one thing and that was the word 'cream'. It's used a lot. At some points it was fine but at others I found it a little icky or annoying. It wasn't enough to throw off the story or mood but it's used enough that you make a mental note of it.

Overall a very enjoyable read. It does have some M/F/M, and some BDSM (though I didn't find it to be extreme).

"Rees" by Allyson James. Book 1 of the Tales of the Shareem series.

So this book is a sci-fi erotica romance. Not what I normally read but the author writes the Shifters Unbound series under the name of Jennifer Ashley and I really enjoy those books, so I decided to give this series a try...you know...for something different.

Interesting background concept. The males in this series are genetically engineered males called Shareem and they were designed to fulfill a woman's every sexual fantasy. Now, I don't usually do spoilers in my reviews but it's kind of difficult with this book because the story line is really very basic.

Rees is a Shareem but not an ordinary one. There are 3 levels to Shareem and Rees is not in any of those categories. When he meets Talan, a highborn female, he is instantly attracted to her and is determined to make her his. Talan has found a diary of a woman who fell in love with a Shareem. Now she wants to experience what a Shareem has to offer before she follows the way of celibacy and meditation, as is custom for females on Bor Narga. She just didn't think she would end up having feeling for Rees.

Now, I won't get into explaining the details of how the world of Bor Narga works, but needless to say, this is an erotica novel, so there is a LOT of sex in this book. BDSM, voyeurism, m/f, m/f/m menage. No m/m. A big issue throughout this book is trust, acceptance and control of oneself.

I actually liked both Rees and Talan. I found their characters quite interesting. And when you take out all the sexual stuff, their emotional states are really quite, well, emotional. I also enjoyed the other supporting characters as well. They gave this world a lot of depth and insight into being a Shareem and how the world of Bor Narga works.

I really enjoyed this book so I will continue to read this series.

This is a series that's been on my radar for a while. Because, you know, men who are all about pleasing a lady in every way imaginable AND who were created in a lab are basically my crack. There were definitely things I liked about this book overall, but it took me a while to get into Rees's head. Which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, mind you. Rees is complicated and dangerous and he almost doesn't know himself. So it stands to reason it would take a while for the reader to get to know him.

Now, I liked Talan. She was straightforward and unpretentious and kinda naive. While I get the naivety part, there were times I wanted to give her a good shake for believing the things she believed about the Shareem as a whole. On the other hand, when one is repeatedly told something, eventually they internalize it and start believing it. Since she's been told Shareem have no emotions, she runs with it. Honestly, Rees didn't help in that regard. Whenever things start to get heavily emotional, he turns the conversation and keeps her thinking he doesn't feel deeply.

I guess I can't blame the girl for thinking what she thought. Her lack of experience coupled with the misinformation told about the Shareem gets her all tangled up.

Bottom line: Sexy sci-fi with plenty of stories left to be told. I like it!

Well, what can I say about this book.
Not the first erotica on my bookshelves but it is the first one I’ve read, the others still lie there unread...but maybe not for long.

It was easy to read, of course there were quite some erotic scenes but it wasn’t all about the bed scenes. There was also the story between a man created to please women and a woman wanting to discover how it’s like to be pleased by a man. And along the way they discover that there’s more between them than just wanting to teach and learn about sex.

I can’t quite put my finger on it but something was missing or off and I can’t describe what it was exactly. Maybe it was a lack of intensity, maybe it was a lack of emotions, maybe it was a lack of witty humor, maybe it was a combination of all of the above.
I only got pulled into the story at the very end when Rees lost it and was afraid of hurting Talan and Rio was called in.
That was when I thought: “Yes! This is what I want to read."

But still I can’t say I didn’t like the book. I was intrigued by these Shareem and their levels, I was intrigued by the friendship between Rees and Rio, so there is certainly more to be explored here and I most definitely won’t dismiss Ms James or the erotica genre after just reading this one.
I can’t say it was a keeper for me but it surely was a nice and fun read when your in the mood for something different.
