Brittanie Shields is a quadruple threat. She’s educated, beautiful, successful, and self-sufficient. Brittanie is also over being single. She’s open to sharing her world with a partner, but her efforts to find a mate have turned up everything but a perfect match. After deciding to put her search on the backburner, Brittanie is offered an opportunity that she has a hard time turning down For an employer that is everything she likes in a man.
Dominic Hill is cool being a bachelor. He likes his freedom and his solitude. When his world is turned upside down in a matter of moments, he’s at a loss as to how to handle it. Dominic needs help, and he’s not too proud to ask for it. But when Brittanie Shields is offered up as the solution to his problem, he starts to second-guess his need to keep women at arm’s length.
They’re employer and employee.
Will being in forced proximity cause them to jeopardize their working relationship for a romantic one?
Yes, like Lionel Richie said, this story was a nice easy slow burn, and it was nice and breezy. I liked Dominic from the start. He was, this is who I am, take it or leave it. Now, his father was another thing. My only issue was the slight inconsistencies with Brittanie, RN. She was the night Nanny up all night with the twins, and then working at a school during the day. And then she was never at the school later in the story. Shrug... Overall, I liked the journey between Dominic and Brittanie. The couple did not fully connect until 80% of the book was over, but oh well!
This was such a cute story. I loved Dominic and Brittanie together. They fit so well together. Brittanie showed Dominic what he was missing in his life and Dominic was able to be his soft self with Bree. Their chemistry was off the charts and their banter kept me smiling. I will definitely be looking into this author’s catalogue to find another read.
This book was more about the buildup to the main characters getting together than it was about them actually being together.
Overall it was a cute love story but there were three scenes that made me kind of like side eye the author/characters. Like idk if these points are the author’s views or if she just wanted to portray her characters a certain way (like ignorant) or what but it made me lose interest in Bree and Dominic.
The first instance was when Bree went on a date at the beginning of the book and mentioned she wanted a manly man and then gave a spiel about how men weren’t like that anymore. It was giving “there’s an agenda which made me roll my eyes.
The next was when Bree and Dominic were talking about her brothers, and Dominic asked if one her brothers was a [homophobic slur]. Like why couldn’t he just ask if Adam was trans? If the author wanted to use that as a teaching moment, at least let Bree use the correct vernacular for what trans means.
Then the final straw for me was what took place after Dominic brought Bree home after his birthday situation. Like kudos for not having sex with her while she was under the influence but fingering her isn’t okay either. THEN she didn’t even remember what happened the next time they saw each other, and Dominic didn’t mention it to Bree then or when they actually had sex later in the book🤦🏾♀
At this point I was damn near 70% done with the book so I just finished it. I just found Dominic cringey instead of book boyfriend-ish, and nothing happened to redeem him for me. Also the reason for the third act “break up was very dumb and I was happy that Bree’s brother explained how dumb it was to her.
Breezing was a good read, just good, could’ve been a slight bit better. The whole story we are seeing Bree and Dominic playing house until she gets her feelings hurt and over something which she convinced herself of. I hated how delusion she made herself out to be. Like girl?! Stay on your lane. Personally felt she should’ve quit after that two weeks she took off from Dominic and worked on herself (therapy or something). Because babe was straight up delusional, just cause she and Dominic were staying up and getting to know each other?
Personally feel Fabian deserved better too. Dominic should’ve given up those kids to DCFS, the way the actual father didn’t give a damn about those kids then Dominic had to pick up the weight? As a man who didn’t even want to birth his own kids, I think he should’ve sent them on their way.
Personally felt there was no connection between any of these characters besides Bree and the twins 🤷🏽♀
I liked Brittani in the beginning but she was irritating when she wanted him but he didn’t want to mess with their work relationship. Then she left the babies when she knew they were attached to her, she was selfish at that point. He has a sorry dad , who keeps cheating on his mom. He is trying to spare her feelings when his dad shows up with his mistress and newborn twins. Hated that he seem to have always clean up his dad mess. Brittani is helping him with the twins but they develop feelings for each other. At times it felt like she was trying to be the man and be in charge. Glad he stopped that.
His dad was sorry, he has 7 kids , but only 3 with his wife. Dominic was the one who was raising his kids & he had two he didn’t know about. It’s about time his mom left his dad. Sounds like he was never faithful and never took care of his kids.

This book was frankly disgusting and so disrespectful like Dominic was fucking with his fwb for over have the book. This was no great love story. I decided to give it a chance because I loved Law and Loyalty but this ish right here wasn't it. I hated this book off the RIP when it went into great detail Ebonie sucking ol boy dick and getting fucked doggy style. This book was almost like Brittanie and Dominic relationship was an afterthought. Definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth. And Brittanie was childish as fuck. That giving the stink attitude was ridiculous considering the fact Dominic been messing with his fwb practically the whole book.
Is it wrong to like the hero and not the heroine?!?! I was a bit torn in this one because Brittanie was annoying and immature. I was a bit taken aback by her actions like girl what?!?! Dom was a good man for the type of responsibility he took on. I wish we could see more of their relationship once they got over Brittanie’s tantrum, but it’s fine. I’d read more from this author.
This book was good. I enjoyed the connection of Dom and Brittanie, I loved the fact that their connection started off as a friendship before persuing what was between them. There was a bit of funny scenes with shade here and there which also made the experience of reading it fun! It was kind of a slow burn and I am not sure that I enjoyed it that much! Otherwise this was an awesome book!
I was loss for words at the beginning of the book. I understood Dominic’s father left him in a mess up predicament with twins. I glad Brittanie was able to come in and be that motherly figure for the twins while he figure out what to do next. I love housekeeper Ms. Franklin, she was not with no mess about the twins or Dominic. I glad Brittanie did get man at the end. This is my first book by the author, but won’t be last!
Brittanie messed the whole book up for me with her childish behavior. She basically got mad at Dominic for nothing. She was too old to act like that just because she didn’t get her way. That was a huge character flaw for me. I actually read Dolton book first and then circled back to this one because I thought Dominic’s and Brittanie’s love story would be good. Joke’s on me.
This was a nice read by the author tho Bre was being a little immature and unreasonable at one point. I do wish we got to see more of them as a couple before it skipped to the epilogue. We got the build up and a 2 second sneak peek of them together. How did he let Eboni go? Did briscoe come over after the mom ?
This was a very different take on a love story. Bree and Dom were a match made in heaven. If you’re looking to read a different take on live this is it. I loved reading how it progressed. It was cute and interesting. Great book Tracy.
Whew this was a good one. Bree was too sweet and was a spoiled girly. She had a great personality and was straightforward. Dom liked Bree but ran from the attraction for a while first. I like that they got the HEA that they deserved. There was barely any drama which I loved.
I love this love story and how it started as a convenience for Dom and Breed but turned into love. Although not on the same page at first, about the Twins, I loved how they both came together to know they were who they needed.
This is my first read by this author. It was really good and kept my attention. Rating it 4 stars because I feel like it should have been longer like 2-3 more chapters. I have questions like how did the conversation go with his dad how did he break it off with Eboni.
This was such a cute story. I loved them so much!! She immediately came in with a light that shown over everyone. The gems that her brother Aaron dropped were everything. More please ?🙏🏽
This book was so good! I felt a special connection to Queen Bre because my bday is also July 17! Cancer baby all day! Glad she got her happily ever after. 🥹 Maybe I will too one day lol! Definitely reading more of Tracy books.
I loved everything about this book, loved the sisterhood Bree had with her girls. Briscoe, Dominic's dad is a poor excuse for a father a waste of flesh and space😠😠😠. Going around making babies and not carrying what happens to them. Kudos to author👏🏾👏🏾
This writer knew what to do. 5 stars, A+, high five ALL DAT.. Queen Bree worked on my last nerve, but still received her happy ending. Most definitely checking out what’s next from this author
Great book. Britain's and Dominic were made for each other. The twins were theirs by default. You don' t have to be biological parents to be loving parents.
I enjoyed reading this book very much. I really liked the characters and it has a good story. It has a good balance of romance and drama which makes for a good story.
