It's Valentine's Day on Enchanted Island, and Shayla, Needles, and Serena are in charge of the Newlyweds party. The evening gets off to a rocky start with some of the attendees...and when one of the partygoers ends up with an enchanted Cupid's arrow through their heart, Shayla, Needles, and Alex must work together to solve the latest mystery. Between narrowing down suspects, attending a bridesmaid fitting, and helping the family prepare for Valentine's Day, Shayla and the gang are working hard to find and capture a heartless killer.
I love reading these books because it feels like I'm back in town and catching up with my friends! Also meeting new characters is always interesting and unexpected.
Deadly Arrow is great like the rest of A Witch In The Woods books, but they never get stale and it seems there's always something new.
I think it is great that whether you've read all the books in the series before this one or this is the first one you picked up you know what's going on and who all the players are.
The mystery of this book keeps you guessing, and I was on my toes until the very end even though I was positive I had it figured out (spoiler; I did not).
Even through the suspects were all horrible people they were extremely interesting characters, and they really sold the story for me
It seems Shayla and Alex can’t enjoy a night out without a murder interrupting them. A Valentine’s party for newlyweds ends abruptly when Cupid’s arrow kills a guest. Did the killer miss their target and kill the wrong person or is the dead person the intended target? That question doubles the suspects. And there are plenty of suspects. Another fun adventure and Needles is again in top form with quite a few people who might feel his quills. Lovely magical descriptions throughout, especially the bridesmaids dresses for Tamara’s upcoming wedding. Jenna St James always finds a way to make the new characters even more unique and interesting. While this is book 23 in the series, the series has never slowed down or become dull. Always exciting right till the end. Looking forward to the next adventure.
When the glamoured Cupid at Shayla’s Valentine’s Day Dinner party shoots one of the guests dead with a spelled arrow, Shayla and Alex investigate his death to see who might have killed him.
Another fast paced read in this enjoyably quirky series- the usual suspects are around, and of course Needles is busy threatening pretty much anyone he can! There’s a bit of a twist to the mystery, which just makes it more fun. This is the 23rd book in the series, and while the mystery is a standalone, it’s set in a world where the places and characters are well established- so ideally read the series in order simply so you’ll know who people are! They’re all quick reads, and fun ones- perfect for when you need a quick, escapist read.
As always a visit to the magic island of the home of Shayla, there is magic, murder and very interesting colorful characters..Organizing a friend in Shaylas circle has her dab smack in the middle of a murder. There are so many suspects, oddly, all very much a part of one of two churches in town. Attempting to give her friend everything she wants for her wedding seems impossible to set up. Now with a murder and never ending crash of request from the couple, will Shayla not only solve the murder, but, get her girlfriend married? Right down to the finish line, it looks doubtful.
This book was so good I read it in one evening. Love the people, the town, the mystery. The types of paranormals are very creative and the mystery was intricate.I really enjoyed this book.
It's Valentine's Day and Shayla and Serena are in charge of throwing a party for Newlyweds. But what prominent doctor is accidentally killed by a spelled arrow, Shayla, Needles, and Alex need to figure out who did it and why?
Deadly Arrow by Jenna St. James may be #23 in the Witch in the Woods series, it continues to be a non-stop adventure on Enchanted Island. Murders, twists and turns within this well paced story kept me turning the pages. I love visiting Enchanted Island and catching up with the residents.
Jenna St James has delivered yet again another wonderful mystery to be solved by Shayla and the Gang! Did the Baby Cupid really commit the murder?? You must read to find out!
Fun series good mystery that combines some comedy a pinch of romance and some supernatural with great strong characters that aren't cookie cutter ones in different series she writes .
As always StJames books are excellent. Wish this author and others could write faster. I know you’re g as fans as you can but when these books are my main source of entertainment here I am
