My name is Gemini Sheridan. At least that’s what I thought it was for 23 years. Then one day a slight adjustment on the wheel of my mountain bike set into motion a series of catastrophic events that changed my life forever. Now I’m running from the headaches that threaten to destroy me from the assassins that threaten to kill me from the truth that exposes who I really am and from the man that wants to save me. Because he now owns my heart and I fear him above all others.

My name is Drexel Wolfe and I’m a private investigator. Nothing ever stands in the way of what I want because when I see something I just take it. All of that changed the night my life collided with Gemini Sheridan’s and now everything is one hot damn mess. And the worst part of it all is that I’m trying to save her ass and I don’t know why the hell I’m even bothering. Well, that’s not exactly true. Fact is, I can’t stop thinking about her. She’s crawled into every thought I own, asleep or awake. I have serious plans for her that include making her mine. What she doesn’t know is that when I play, I play for keeps. Nothing and no one will get in my way or stop me not even Gemini Sheridan herself.

**This book is NOT part of a series, but Drexel Wolfe, the main character, was first introduced in Tragically Flawed.

*This is an Adult Contemporary Romance and is not suitable for younger readers dues to its sexual content and language.
** This is a Stand Alone Companion Novel to Tragically Flawed.

Tragic Desires by A.M. Hargrove

A.M. Hargrove has yet again written another outstanding novel. Her writing is what I would say is outstanding! In my opinion A.M. Hargrove's writing is only getting better with each new book she publishes. The characters in this story are well written, plot is fast paced and filled with an intriguing story line. Tragic Desires is one of those books that you cannot stop reading, even though you have to work in the morning the story is too compelling to stop. I stayed up pretty late trying to finish this book. Tragic Desires has everything you want in a great novel; mystery, suspense, murder, fear, sexy alpha males and an added bonus is the steamy romance that takes place. This by far the best book I’ve read recently.

We meet Gemini Sheridan who has just recently had a horrible bike accident that has left her with headaches/migraines that are debilitating. Losing her boyfriend and her plans for her future she comes to the decision to leave school and move on. To cope with the pain she suffers Gemini turns to using drugs and alcohol. The internal pain of losing her mom, boyfriend and her future leaves her with not much of a will to live.

Then in comes Drexel Wolf who has been hired by a friend to help find some missing young women. While he is on a stake out he sees Gemini in one of the bar’s they are watching, he believes this striking woman could be the next target for whoever is taking these women. Keeping his distance he decides to keep an eye on her.

Upon saving Gemini he realizes he has to have her, but first he needs to figure out what exactly going on and who is after Gemini. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and Drexel Wolf will do anything within his power to keep her out of harm’s way.

Tragic Desires was a fantastic read, it is by far the best book A.M. Hargrove has written to date. I have rated Tragic Desires a 5 star rating and if I do say so myself I would rate it 10+ stars if I could.

I recommend this story to anyone who loves a great, hot, sexy, steamy, mystery, suspense romance novel, you will not be disappointed!

Tragic Desires by A.M. Hargrove will be coming out soon so keep an eye out for it.

I was all over this book like a fat kid and cake. Excuse the cliché but this book was everything I Love in a book and more. I won’t lie and say I wasn’t scared to read it. Not because of the subject matter, cover or author, nothing to that effect. In fact my fear of reading this book stems from having met A.M. Hargrove this past summer. She was one of the nicest and sweetest authors I’ve met. Once she found out I was a blogger she wouldn’t stop signing bookmarks and postcards and more and literally shoving them into my already full hands. (I’m only lucky she did not suffer carpal tunnel for a world without this book would be a sad sad place.) Alas, my fear was untold for every page of Tragic Desires from the start was excellent and I ate it up until I wanted to scream at the unfairness of it even having to end. Every hour I had to work was plagued with thoughts of the characters and what would happen next. If it wasn’t for my basic needs of food and shelter, this book easily would have made me walk out the door.

Suspense, action, adventure. And let’s not forget the romance for this book had it in spades. A burgeoning love that not only grows at a steady and believable pace but brings out emotions and sentiments you didn’t know you possessed. Trust me, Drex will have you up against the wall and begging for more in only a few short chapters.. This man has skills : )

I guess I should probably get to the book at some point and rather than just leave it at it’s awesome I’ll tell you why I thought so. Immediately from the get-go you are sucked in. Gemini is a very powerful character and she is easily very relatable and likable. Gemini’s passion is biking. She’s a pro and knows more about this sport than anything else and finds no greater joy than when she’s pedaling and flying around on her mountain bike. Too soon Gemini’s passion turns to pain when she is injured during a ride. Gemini doesn’t just suffer a bruised ego or body, no. Gemini is left with debilitating migraines that are a daily occurrence. Her pain is so bad that death would be an easier solution. I will certainly never suffer a migraine again without thinking of this book nor will I ever treat them so lightly. Just imagining suffering the way Gemini did is painful and scary. Gemini has been told her situation is basically untreatable so she numbs her pain any way she can, often using drugs and alcohol when she can force herself out of her darkened bedroom.

I could go on about Drex’s awesomeness but he’s best to be devoured on your own. When he is called in by an old friend to work on a case involving missing girls, Drex doesn’t expect to be around for longer than a week or two. Yet on his first night ‘undercover Drex sees Gemini and though she brushes him off he can’t stop thinking of her.

Unfortunately for Gemini Drex is not the only one who has their eye on here. The next night Gemini gets caught in the middle of an almost kidnapping; little does she know Drex won’t let anything happen to her. As if things weren’t crazy enough Gemini learns there’s more to her past than she ever imagined. The mother she looked up to, until her death in an accident, was hiding major secrets and Gemini has barely begun to uncover the complexity of the truth and her identity.

This book had everything I love to read about and I was involved from page one to the end. These characters felt like my friends and I couldn’t stop rooting for them, especially when they were running from danger. There was the ever popular romance blended with a mix of suspense, mystery and danger. Gemini has to learn to deal with more issues in her already complicated life. As if having debilitating migraines is not bad enough now she’s thrust in the fight of her life, for both survival and answers. Overall I can’t say more than I LOVED THIS BOOK. READ IT.!!!! (I do implore you to read with Caution as constant reading mixed with so much suspense may lead to your own migraine Have some Excedrin at the ready!!! : )

On a side note: Props to AM Hargrove on all the research she must have done on the sport of mountain biking. Honestly I've never even thought of it in such a serious manner, but Gemini's passion is really tangible in the book and even though I'm not an avid biker all the detail and facts made it so much better and more interesting.

I stopped reading this book at the mark 49%.

Tragic Desires was an interesting read when I started it. I had so much hope that it will be brilliant, sadly when few issues were revealed, it totally put me off.
Even worse, I couldn't see any connection between them. Drex and Gemimi were both nice kick arse characters to read thou.

What put me off was

Hope you have a better read out of this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 ⭐️

Raised rather sheltered by a single mom, Gemini Sheridan finds her freedom in mountain biking after her mother passes away. When after a biking accident she is left with daily migraines that cannot be controlled, her boyfriend leaves and she slowly slips into an alcohol and medication fuelled haze. Anything to numb the pain of her migraines and losing her dreams. Mindlessly hanging around clubs and bars, drinking and dancing until one night she ends up at the mercy of two men who have nothing good in mind.

Ex Black Ops operator and current PI working with the FBI on a missing girls investigation, Drexel Wolfe is just in time to intercept an abduction in progress and manages to chase off two suspects when suddenly what was a regular investigation, turns into a full on agency affair. Something to do with the victim who might know more than she is telling. But no matter how hard they look or how much they question, the woman named Gemini claims to know nothing about anything.

When it becomes obvious Gemini holds interest for quite a few people, and she is in danger, something compels Drexel to use all his resources to protect her. Gemini's head is reeling as she tries to comprehend how she has ended up in the middle of an international plot and how it is possible that what she knew to be her life may have all been a lie.

But the man who has firmly placed himself by her side, and in front and behind her, is doing whatever he can do find the answers for her. Drexel is determined to keep her safe, even from herself. Overwhelmed by feelings of betrayal, guilt and a growing attachment to Drexel, Gemini is starting to feel claustrophobic and her instincts are to run. But Drex can't let her go too far, or someone else will get her first......

Superb!!

Oh my!! This book hit me in all the right spots!! And now I have to try and find the words to try and tell you why.....

First off, I identify with chronic pain conditions and know what they do to the psyche. Devastating potential...... That was the first thing that hooked me in.... Gemini and I have some common ground. The loss of ability to pursue passions and activities....a life that others take for granted, limited by involuntary responses of the body to central nervous system impulses completely out of the conscious control is infuriating. It involves a huge amount of grief, with all its related phases that is difficult to understand by those who don't 'live it'. A daily battle to rise above pain is utterly exhausting.

The fact that Ms. Hargrove is able to put this down in a character I can identify with, is huge to me. And it shows me a tremendous amount of insight.

The action and suspense in what is a phenomenally beautiful love story, is excellent. I actually feel like I've read two books after finishing this story. The full satisfaction of an emotional and rich love story and the adrenaline rush of an intricate and action filled suspense. I don't quite know how Ms. Hargrove managed it, am sitting here trying to figure it out, but there it is......

The connection between the characters is amazing......so friggin' honest and direct. No games played. No subliminal messaging. No high school antics. Mature communication, with feelings out in the open, risking hearts and sanity, going all out.......simply beautiful and courageous. It is as if they couldn't help themselves but rip off all pretence and bare themselves to the other.

The action, the intrigue was top notch, with great build up and time suspended periods where I would hear the 'Jaws' mood score in my head....knowing something was about to happen. That delicious tension right before all hell breaks loose.

I can't tell you how highly I recommend this book, if you love your action suspense.....and you equally love a good romance with lots of honest feeling, this really is a book for you!

✨A story as sharply chilling as it was fiercely passionate.

Love your sizzling romance with edge-of-your-seat intrigue and action? Love an over-the-top pure male, alpha hero with strength, compassion and the need to protect, all while scorching the letters off the pages with sensual steam? Want your heroine to have enough backbone to be worthy of said hero? Grab a quiet corner, hang out the do NOT disturb sign and get ready for the ride of your life! Tragic Desires by A. M. Hargrove is proof beyond doubt that her writing just keeps getting better and better!

Gemini, a girl raised by an over-sheltering mother, who knows no other family, crosses paths with an ex-Black Ops PI working a human trafficking case in conjunction with the FBI. Drexel is bowled over by her mysterious beauty and her eyes that are telling him a story he cannot latch on to, but she is the perfect target and he follows her, only to have to save her from a back alley attack outside a trendy bar where other disappearances have occurred. Suffering from debilitating accident-related, migraines, Gemini lives in a drug and alcohol induced haze to blur the pain. There is more to Gemini than meets the eye, she is strong, alone and someone is after her, but she has no idea why and it’s not trafficking related.

Together they uncover a past Gemini never knew existed and she has become the target of international zealot terrorists. Calling in all of his favors, his contacts, and with the help of the government, as well as his own expertise, Drexel will do anything to protect Gemini. But is she ready for his all-consuming love?

A. M. Hargrove has created the perfect romance, the perfect fast-paced thriller, and two wonderfully matched characters that grow closer as each day passes. Her characters are very realistic, very-well developed and completely likable and strong! They have honor, determination and a grit that had me rooting for everything Drex and Gemini! Never mind that the heat between these too is both sweet and raging hot! Ms. Hargrove keeps raising the bar, book after book.

If you’ve read Tragically Flawed, you may remember Drexel. If not, you won’t forget him after reading Tragic Desires.

Gemini ignores her boyfriends concerns and takes her mountain bike on the trails alone. The water softened path gives way and sends her tumbling down the hill. She survives, but her concussion leaves her with headaches that are so severe, she can no longer function and she turns to alcohol and pills to get through each day. After her boyfriend breaks up with her she has no reason to stay and moves back to Texas. Her life is a living hell and she establishes a pattern. Curl up and hide during the day, cruise the bars at night, make her drug connection, go home and crash, repeat.

Drexel is a private investigator and agrees to help out his friend from the FBI with a suspected human trafficking case. While casing a bar in the Dirty Sixth district for a likely victim, he spots Gemini and keeps an eye on her. When the traffickers snatch her, he rescues her but it turns out someone else is after her too.

Gemini was a strong, self-confident, go getter before her accident. At first I thought her actions when Drexel rescued her would foolhardy, not believable. But I was talking to my sister and it made me pause. She’s not that person anymore. She’s gone from fearless to afraid to even drive a car. She’s in a fog from pain and meds and who would be able to react rationally with that going on.

Drexel turned me off at first. His thoughts when he first meets Gemini were sexual and it rubbed me wrong. He’s supposed to be preventing her kidnapping and he’s thinking about getting her in bed? What’s with that? Then I realized I was reading this from a man’s point of view. They say a guy thinks about sex every.well, when isn’t he? So once I adjusted my thinking, it worked and I let myself experience Drexel as a man, not how I would think, but how he thought. Then he grew on me.

With terrorists determined to get their hands on Gemini, her mysterious past and a letter from her dead mother revealing something that rocks her to her core, and Drexel’s troubling past, the romance between these two was intense. They say sex is a natural reaction after traumatic events and these two were already attracted to each other so keeping their hands to themselves went out the window. It made this story that much more believable and exciting.

This is definitely not for younger readers. I was blushing and feeling like I was going to get caught doing something naughty, like peeking through a keyhole.

Lots of suspense and danger to go with the romance and can be read as a stand alone. As usual I got more than I was expecting from A.M. Hargrove.

I received this book for my honest and unbiased review.

Reviewed for Confessions From Romaholics

Tragic Desire is the second in the Tragic series and is a complete standalone novel. I must admit it’s been a while since I have reviewed a contemporary novel with a romantic suspense twist and was looking forward to read this. I had high hopes since I tend to read more YA/NA for review now and I must admit this book drew me in from its blurb. I kid you not, I didn’t see the cover until after I got this arc and damn I probably would have signed up for this tour just because of this cover! I’m a cover whore and Drexel looks fine on the cover.

The heroine Gemini is a puzzle. She was once a fun, full of life woman who loved bike riding until an accident left her with debilitating headaches. A former shell of herself, she’s cut all her ties, leaving school and moving back to Texas from Colorado. There isn’t anything there for her since her boyfriend has left her after the accident, unable to get through to her. To deal with her pain, she turns to drugs and alcohol as it all becomes too much.

Enter Drexel, who is helping his friend on this case, trying to apprehend the guys who are stealing women from bars. When he see her onyx eyes, he immediately decides to watch her because he believes that she could be next. Well, he isn’t wrong and the knight in shining armour rescues her the next night and discovers there is a hidden secret in the past that he needs to save her from.

I wasn’t disappointed: this book has all the elements for a great read. It’s a well written book with great characters, interesting storyline and a pace set at great speed. So the book moved at a perfect pace for me. I read this book in one sitting starting one evening and stayed up into the wee hours of the next morning finishing it. You can’t help fall for the hero, he a charming sexy alpha male with a feisty determined girl.

by is the second book in her Tragic series and focuses on Drexel whom we met briefly in the first book, .

Drexel is dreamy (sigh)! So, the book is about Gemini. She is a mountain biker who suffers an accident and concussion, the concussion leaving her with debilitating migraines. Her boyfriend leaves her, her mother dies, she moves to Texas. She gets through her days (and the pain) by sleeping the days away and drinking and doing drugs in the bars at night.

Drexel enters the story as a favor to a pal who is on a case of missing girls. Drexel sees Gemini and immediately feels a pull towards her. He also sees her as a potential next victim and while on his "undercover" assignment for his friend, he saves her from actually being kidnapped. Things only escalate from there. Secrets about Gemini's past are revealed to her and the danger escalates...

This is a fast-paced book, with perfectly developed characters and lots of intrigue and mystery to spice up the already steamy bedroom scenes. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing and she is on my list of fave's.

A.M. Hargrove you've done it again! I was totally hooked from the beginning right until the very end. I loved this book.

Oh maaan, if ever I'm in a tight spot and need rescuing I want ex-soldier sexy Drex Wolfe to come get me!! He is definitely the full package - ex-military, tough, strong, alpha male with brooding looks and as HOT AS HELL! *swoons & fans oneself*
Did I mention he was a soldier??

Tragic Desires had everything I love in a book - scenes that were hot enough to scorch my kindle, humour, tense, nail-biting action and believable characters. This is definitely one of those books I will read again.

Inconsistent 3.5 stars

Gemini is suffering due to a head injury and doesn't know she's in danger. Drex notices her and becomes captivated. He saves her then discovers people are after her. An attraction develops as they work to figure out what those people are after and where it is.

I found parts of the story were inconsistent. In the beginning she's suffering from debilitating migraines. She's tried everything and has the money for the best specialists. One visit from Drex's doctor and she's better and all those doctors she saw didn't know what they were doing.

She has no family and when she finds out she actually does have some family on her mom's side, there's no thought about seeing them. Gemini is being pursued by some bad people but runs away to go mountain biking. She's in horrible shape but manages to ride a difficult trail easily. She's hooked on drugs due to her migraines and is fine when she suddenly stops taking the illegal ones.

Those things detracted from the story so I tried to ignore them.

This is an Insta attraction story with two people who are mostly strong. They both do some not so smart things but it works out. The danger is real ish. At one point Drex's team is taken down and drugged but not killed. Never heard of a terrorist who wouldn't just kill his enemy.

The inconsistencies added up. Less of them and I would have enjoyed the book a lot more. It was good, but it could have been great.

Drexel and Gemini's story is like a thriller:
Fast-paced ...
Unpredictable ...
Twisted ...
Intense
And amidst all this suspense, there is a love so pure, so strong and overwhelming that every girl and woman will be envious of just reading about it!
Gemini is a heroine, just to my liking ... strong-willed, stubborn and cheeky ...
And Drex ... well, let's just say he's Superman and a very hot and sexy alpha male wrapped up in a VERY nice package.
I'd like someone like him to watch over me. Anytime.

This book made me turn the pages as fast as I could read, just to find out what would happen next! The setting and plot felt very authentic, as did the characters. The interwoven topic of Post-Concussion Syndrome is also very well and thoroughly researched.
This is a MUST READ and a page turner par excellence!

Amazing story

I’m a huge fan of the author, and I’m glad I found her because wow- amazing talent.
This story is complex, interesting, and unpredictable, with just the right amount of action and sexy time thrown in. Well developed, relatable characters, with a realistic perspective. I mean, I hate books that center on insta-love, because I think it is so unrealistic. However, the connection between Drex & Gemini is explained in a relatable way- and the struggle over their feelings & the suddenness of them is well written, so it’s perfect.
If you like hour romance with a bit of action, this is a must read.

While I really liked the first book in this series Tragically Flawed, I LOVED this one. It was intriguing, suspenseful, action packed and the chemistry between Drexel and Gemini was off the charts. These are richly written, strong characters supported by a great story.

Great story. Kept you guessing which way the two main characters were going to go. The two main characters kept telling themselves that they weren't good for the other person but in truth they were meant for each other. With all the drama and action it will keep you wondering how it will all turn out.

After a a biking accident left her with post-concussion syndrome, Gemini became a shell of the woman she used to be. Plagued by intense migraines that leave her unable to function and reaching for alcohol and harder drugs to alleviate the pain, Gemini rolls with the motions of her life, but she's not truly living. Until a one-night encounter with a stranger. Once Drake is in her life, Gemini's life turns on its axis leaving her to question everything she thought she knew and wanted.

Drake owns his own security firm. When an acquaintance asks for help on a case, Drake jumps in never imagining how his decision would impact his life in the long run. Drawn to the woman he's keeping an eye out for, Drake is torn between his job and the emotions Gemini brings out of him.

Hell yeah, this is what I'm talking about - Suspense. Lust. Mystery. Romance - all there for the taking and I devoured it all!

Rare is the story that captivates me from the very start without the author divulging much. Instantly, I was intrigued by Gemini's ailment, her struggles to deal with it and its aftermath. I liked that the author didn't pull any punches when bringing Gemini's emotions to the page when it came to her struggle to keep a tight rein on her situation. She had dark thoughts, she pushed people away, she wasn't an easy person to connect to. Not while she was suffering through her migraines nor by the way she went about dealing with them.

Drake wasn't a walk in the park either, but he was easier to understand. He was as broody as he was sexy. I wanted to throttle him more than a few times, but man he could melt me with just a few words. *swoon* He didn't want to be attracted to Gemini and although he fought it, he was too drawn to her to help himself. He had his own demons to fight and it was a treat to see how his walls came crumbling down as the story progressed and how much his character grew as his relationship with Gemini cemented.

drake

You would be right in guessing that their chemistry was HOT. It was and I enjoyed it very, very much. But mostly, I enjoyed how they opened themselves to the feelings that were developing between them. They doubted their situation, questioned their desires, gave in to their attraction, retreated from their emotions and came together again when the fight got to be too much. Loved it!

tragic desires

Kudos to A.M. Hargrove for bringing the romance, the mystery and the suspense in a way that flowed seamlessly through the page without taking away from any of the elements of the story. I was kept at the edge of my seat, tapping the hell out of my table because I wanted to know what would happen next between Gemini and Drake and what new clues they would discover next. The pace of the story was perfect with every event placed to bring the most impact in the reader. I enjoyed how the story moved along shifting its focus from the romance to the mystery always keeping that edge of intrigue where the reader starts to make assumptions to try to solve the 'case'. Little bit and pieces were revealed, bringing answers to questions and developing some new ones. So that by the time the story came to an end, every loose end was tied up regarding Gemini and Drake's relationship and the situation they were involved in.

Although this is the second book in the Tragic series, it can certainly be read as a stand alone. This is the first book by AM Hargrove I've read and I'll surely be picking up Tragically Flawed since I enjoyed this one so much.

All in all, an exciting, sexy read about second chances in life and new beginnings in love.

is a Stand Alone Companion Novel to author 's novel . I haven't read yet, and I read as a stand alone novel and enjoyed it as such.

This story is told in alternating points of view from the two lead characters Gemini Sheridan and Drexel Wolfe. Both characters are likeable and the story is an adult contemporary romance filled with suspense. Drexel is a private investigator who is working on a case and meets Gemini somewhat by chance. However, Gemini's circumstances cause Drexel to drop his involvement in his case and focus his attention and resources on her. Both Drexel and Gemini's characters and histories were very interesting, and they are both battling their own types of demons. This is a very sexy romance and these characters waste no time in trying to find their own healing in each other. "We've never just liked each other. We didn't fall in love. We plummeted."

I gave 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4 on goodreads. In my opinion, some of the banter between Gemini and Drexel was kind of corny and there was so much dialogue in this book! For me, the joy of reading alternating points of view from potentially complex characters is being inside their heads. It felt like there was little of that in this book but it could have been just me. For readers who like the story spelled out for them, this book does that well. There was no confusion about how the characters were feeling about each other or what was going on in the main plot and that is always a plus. The reader learns information as the characters do and this adds to the drama/suspense of the overall story. The romance parts in this book were plentiful and very sexy. This is my first book from Ms. Hargrove and overall I liked it. I would be interested in reading some of her other books.

My favorite quote:
"Have you ever worn night-vision goggles?" I ask.
"Sure. I wear them all the time."
"Okay, smart-ass."
"Seriously? Drexel, where in the world would I wear night-vision goggles?"
"I don't know. Hunting?"
She shakes her head. "Yeah, my mom and I used to hunt big game in our backyard when I was a kid. Lions and tigers. Once I even shot a wildebeest."

The thing I love about romantic suspense and thrillers is that it keeps your adrenaline pumping, mind racing, questioning your own judgement, on the tips of your toes you fear of falling over the edge all the while entertaining some sweet romance along the way, and Tragic Desires is no different. It is packed with suspense, action, anticipation, intrigue, fear, courage, hot sexual tension, a dangerously sexy alpha male hero and an unstoppable romance. Hargrove weaved a myriad of elements to knock you on your ass and toppling over the edge in all the right ways. ;-)

I'll try to keep this review spoiler free, because the suspense and mystery of it all is part of the fun. The chemistry, build up and anticipation is slow-burning and hard-hitting. Boy does it deliver it all on a silver platter. When all hell breaks loose, it's as explosive as the tension in this story. It's fun and a bit scary to see it all unfold once the chips are down and out.

Drexel is one to be reckoned with. He is so fiercely passionate in all things -- his job, sex, love and all things Gemini, and I can see why it's impossible to resist his advances. Granted, there were times where he was infuriating and even pushed my buttons (hey, nobody's perfect), but as long as he pushes the right ones, it's all good. He's plenty redeemable in the end, though, so no worries on labeling him negative terms of endearment.

And Gemini is a somewhat likable character. Okay, minus her unhealthy vices she peruses to cope. She has dealt with a lot of pain and grief and still suffers from it, but that made her more authentic even if she was frustrating at times. But underneath all that pain lies a strong (yet stubborn), perceptive and realistic woman, and I can see why Drex becomes drawn to her. And she's smart to be suspicious of Drex's interest in her in the beginning, because who can you really trust out there in the world? In the end, Drex proves that she had nothing to worry about after all.

The chemistry between Gemini and Drexel is so thick with tension and passion, and electrifying that formed a strong bond in their connection whether they wanted it or not. It may not have started out so well between them at first (it almost never is), and that just adds fuel to the tension. But sooner than later, all pretenses are blown to pieces. They are susceptible to each others inexpiable magnetic pull, and when they give in to their desires, there is no stopping them. Their passion is raw, deep, but most of all, true. What I found so refreshing is that they were mature; no immature communications, denial, childish reactions or antics. Once everything was laid out on the table and cleared the air, it's game on. Seriously, Drex is book boyfriend material, ladies. He can get you hot and wet, and he will protect you with his life. And he's not bad to look at either. What more can a girl ask for?

The suspense, action, intrigue, anticipation and sizzling hot romance made for an enthralling read that keeps readers on their toes through it all. The fun part is the journey to see if they make it out alive, and together. It was definitely a wild and sexy and enticing ride.

This is more realistic than most books. It shows that some people are embarrassed talking about intimacy or their body parts. I liked that. Since I work in Labor and Delivery, I see a lot of that. Women use lots of names for their vaginas and that’s the way Gemini was. It was too cute!

I like that she used headaches in her book and showed how debilitating they can be. At the end, A. M. Hargrove shares her own story of headaches. Again, more realistic. My hubby suffers from them after a terrible motorcycle accident and I have migraines too. So, I could relate. I liked watching how Gemini wanted to die from them and how she also wanted to get back to living her life again and goes mountain biking and how Drexel could help get rid of them for her. You’ll have to read the book to figure out how he does it. “Wink Wink

Gemini learns after she has a biking accident that her mom had sheltered her for a reason. She isn’t really Gemini Sheridan but someone else and her mother had kept it from her. She was protecting her from someone and people who want something from her but Gemini has no idea what that is! Her mom did leave her clues but they were very hard to find. When Gemini had the accident her life started to spiral out of control. She didn’t know anything about her mother really. She had to learn trust all over. Could she trust Drexel or even believe in her deceased mother or her former lover? Now Gemini’s on the run with Drexel at her side and she just doesn’t want anyone to be hurt, most of all Drexel.

The scene in the hospital where Drexel is on a morphine drip was hilarious!

The two of them like each other a lot. As in they can’t get enough of each other a lot!

What I didn’t like: OK, this just shows how much I thought about this book. This book is a mystery and suspense and it gets you thinking. I obviously was thinking too much, because, when I was driving home after being in classes late at night, I ran over something that looked like a bag with something in it. It sounded like it attached to the bottom of my car. I started thinking that someone had a remote button and my car was going to blow up?!! I was seriously freaking out! No laughing allowed!

Quotes:
My voice is gruff with emotion. "When two people love each other, they share their hopes and dreams along with their fears. They don't run, Gem. Please don't ever run from me again. I've loved you from the start. I felt it from the first moment I saw you. You didn't, but it didn't take long for you to figure it out. We've never just liked each other. We didn't fall in love. We plummeted. It's been hard and fast for us since the first time we slept together. After that, I knew my life was going to change and that you would be the reason. Only I didn't know how much or that I would go to any lengths to make sure you were safe. I kept asking myself why I was doing all these things for you. But deep in my heart I knew. I knew all along.

I loosen my grip and when I do, so does he. But this whole thing has unhinged me. Nothing is the same. My entire life has been rewritten. I’m a character in a novel and I’m not sure how this story is going to end.
***

This book was not at all what I was expecting. I am not even sure what I was expecting, because I had forgotten over time what the book was even about. That is a little habit of mine. I read the blurb, then by the time I read the book, it has been some time and I have no idea what it is about. Another thing, I know this author will give me a good read no matter what. But with this story…it was an absolutely thrilling read. You get so caught up in everything going on, that you forget about the going-on of the real world.

I was so caught up this story that I didn't realize I had spent hours captivated by the book. Missed lunch? Who cares! Drexel is enough to satisfy my hunger. This guy was intense and fiery! He comes charging in and you just have to give him all your attention. He demands it and we readers gladly hand it over. He is very confident of himself, but not in an annoying cocky way. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. But that is all on the outside. Inside, he has a few issues that he has to work through. Issues from his past that have wrecked his life in more ways than one. But with Gemini entering his world, he is able to face those issues head on. And I really loved reading about him.

Gemini is another character that you just have to love. I had a connection with her from beginning, starting with the prologue. She was once an adventurous girl with big dreams until her biking accident. Now she is just a shell of a girl that is just existing, getting by with a little help from her friends...her meds and illegal drugs. They help her get through her crippling migraines. Throw in some terrorists that are after her and life just seems to be getting better and better for her. *insert sarcastic sigh here*

This book was a definite page turner and I was gladly giving up a day of cleaning to see how it all worked out in the end. Hubs? Yeah not so much. He just doesn’t see the justification of a dirty house just to read a book. Men! What do they know? I will say this…this book is perfect for any gender. There is action and suspense that will appeal to the men in your life. Read it and recommend it to them. TRAGIC DESIRES is so very suspenseful, an absolute thriller, and amazingly hot! Hargrove gives us not just a book full of words but an adventure so intense, it will have you hanging on to every word. 5 Suspenseful Stars!

Umm, I really don’t know where to start with this one. This book hooked me in right from the start and didn’t let go until the very last page. Even then I was wanting more. The book starts with Gemini doing what she loves to do, mountain biking, when disaster strikes. She is left with a head injury that causes so much pain she begins seeking relief with illegal drugs. When Drexel first sees Gemini his whole life changes. He can’t explain why he is drawn to her, but knows he has to protect her. When she is almost abducted he comes to her rescue and learns there is more than what meets the eye. They soon come to learn that a terrorist group as well as the CIA are after Gemini for information they think she has.
We follow them through twist and turns as they try to uncover the mystery of why so many people want her. During the course of the story both come to realize they love each other and would do anything to protect the other.

I love the funny banter between Gemini and Drexel, to me it personalizes the book. For instance, I could really picture the follow as it was taking place:

“Have you ever worn night-vision goggles? I ask.
“Sure. I wear them all the time.
“Okay, smart-ass.
“Seriously? Drexel, where in the world would I wear
night-vision goggles?
“I don’t know. Hunting? She shakes her head.
“Yeah, my mom and I used to hunt big game in our backyard when I was a kid.
Lions and tigers. Once I even shot a wildebeest.

I love a book that can weave in suspense, mystery, love, humorous banter and a HEA altogether. Since I don’t believe in giving out any spoilers, you will not find any of that here. Go get your copy today, I promise you will not be disappointed!

Quotes:

“Gemini, you can’t mend my broken soul. ~ Drex

“You make me forget about the bad. ~Gemini

“…I want to hear you tell me you’ll love me until your heart stops beating and the sun doesn’t rise anymore, because that’s how I feel about you. ~ Drex

“Life isn’t one-dimensional. Gem, it’s three. It’s physical, spiritual, and emotional. I didn’t simply fall in love with you. I fell into you and you breathed your life into me. ~ Dex

This is my first A.M. Hargrove and I must say, I am loving it. This book is full of mystery and intrigue and romance. I enjoyed the fast mining plot. It was quite a unique story.

The book starts with Gemini Sheridan having a really bad bike accident. She ends up severely injured. The most serious is her head injury. After the accident her life changes dramatically because of the migraines she suffers from. They are so severe that she cant hold down and job or even function anymore. She is in constant pain and begins to self medicate with drugs and alcohol.

Gemini puts herself in a bad situation when she seeks out drugs and alcohol in a bar all alone. Some shady men try to drug and kidnap her. Lucky for her Drexel Wolf comes to her rescue. Drexel has been hired to help find out who is the area is taking unsuspecting women. There seems to be a great number of women who are similar to Gemini and have been missing from bars in the area.

There is more than meets the eye to who wants Gemini. Drexel feels pulled to Gemini at first because of her beauty, but he feels the need to protect her. That has nothing to do with her beauty. The twists and turns this book with keep you guessing throughout the whole book. It was a hot sexy read mix with action and adventure. (I am not giving away any spoilers).

Gemini and Drexel are beyond sexy and steamy. I absolute loved them. Their chemistry was off the charts.

I have to say, for me, they way A. M. Hargrove described the migraines was spot on. I can not even imagine what the ones Gemini had felt like. As a migraine suffer, I am sometimes in bed with them. Having them everyday of my life, I can not fathom. The description off the pain alone made me want to cry.

I can't wait to read the next book A.m. Hargrove!!!

The story line is interesting, but the writing style does not pull me in. The writing style needs work. I sense some immaturity and inexperience in the style of writing. " I can't be a smarty pants because I'm not wearing any", is a quote about Gemini. These are the kinds of words that are used to describe her personality. How old is she again?
The dialogue and banter is cheesy and grates on my nerves. Every little detail gets explained and it's unnecessary.
I'm not feeling any connection or spark with Gemini or Drexel. The banter between the two is cheesy and not realistic.
It's hard to read thru the material. I'm having to skim thru most because the writing style is boring.
It's missing an emotional connection. I keep reading the words but there is no emotion in them, they are just words.
I've never read a story where the characters say everything they are thinking without filters. There is no mystery to the characters everything is laid out on the table. I believe that is why I am unable to connect with the characters.
I am so bored, yet determined to finish reading.
Really Gemini gets to act like a jealous teenager and have Drexel relocate Jill because Gemini is insecure. Please Gemini needs to go. She makes me sick.
Gemini punches Drexel in the arm like a school boy bully. What a weird girl.
The author likes to lay it on thick with the compliments for Gemini.
This story is tragic just as the title implies.
Gemini stomps and pouts like a five year old. Such a brat. She can't handle a real adult relationship. She has issues

This was an ah-mazing book. Super sexy hot alpha male. Female that actually has a backbone and doesn't lay down and let people walk all over her.

Gemini is struggling with sever migraines from a bike crash. She is to the point she just can't handle the pain anymore. She just wants to forget the pain and get her life back. She finds relief with alcohol and drugs. She isn't looking for friends or any type of relationship because it wouldn't work. She lost her boyfriend after the accident because he couldn't deal with her mood swings caused by the pain. She doesn't understand why Drex is suddenly interested in her, but she has suspicions. Will she let him help like he claims he wants too? Or will she run?

Drex has flown to Texas to help the FBI on a case. He never expected to walk into Gemini and her trouble. He is here on a case, but has found himself stuck helping this female. He can't seem to leave her when he has a suspicion something is going on with her. He doesn't do relationships, but he finds himself wanting to get to know Gemini. Something about her brings out his protective side. Can he help her? Or will he run away from her?

This is one of the best books written by A.m. Hargrove. It is a must read book. A.m. will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next and how everything plays out. This is a MUST read book and will be on my Top Reads List!!!!

Once again, AM Hargrove has written a book that has kept me glued to my kindle and up far too late into the night. Well, actually too dark and early in the morning. My favorite book of hers is Tragically Flawed and I was really unsure how she was going to continue the series because it ended just how I would have hoped. Then I read that it was about Drex and knew I had to read it. The double awesome thing about it being about Drex is that his life intersected the lives of those in Tragically flawed when he helped Shan find Rivieria and this is about his life, not theirs. That means that if you never read a book by AM Hargrove, you can start here and not feel like you are missing a thing. I LOVE that! It truly is a stand alone.
Gemini's whole life has been a lie and she has no idea. Not only has her life been a lie, but she suffered a head injury that makes the life she is living beyond painful. Drex crosses her path while on a mission. Little does he know that by saving her he is opening himself up to much more than the human trafficking he was trying to stop. Filled with suspense, heat, love, action, and self discovery, this book was a fantastic read. I love getting lost in these types of stories. Setting reality aside while enjoying the ride! It was clear that the author had done her homework Gemini's condition, a condition I think people need to be more aware of. I truly hope this is not the last of the tragic series.

Gemini is just so adorable and cute and I loved her to bits, "her voice is a whisper. "Your eyes. Sometimes when you look at me. They're um...well, they're sexy." I mean Drex sometimes has to show Gemini what she does to him, "look at me. Touch me. Feel what you do to me. Do you even have to ask?" His lips are parted and those damn eyes draw me in. But when my gaze drifts down to his boxers, I finds my answer." He also has to make sure things are straight between them, "Gemini, wasn't it you who said that if we were to continue sleeping together, that I wasn't allowed to sleep with anyone else?" The man is pure animal as well, "a half second later, I'm naked and he has me against the wall. My hands are over my head and his knee is between my legs, hitting me just so. "Goddamn, babe, I didn't think I could ever wait for this. You've had me so jacked up since the office, I can't effing think straight. I want in you. I want to feel you around me... I want to feel how tight you are." But that's okay because Gemini can match his animal, "when things calm down, I realize I've dug my nails into his arms. Blood seeps to the skin. He hears me suck in a breath and follows my gaze. "Sh**, babe, it was worth every damn drop." Drex can be considerate where his girl is concerned, "she pulls my boxers off and reaches for me. "wait, babe. I need to get a condom." I find what I need, put the damn thing on, and haul a** into the bed. I'm all for a good lay, but not on the floor."
