Holy Shooty Balls!!!! This book was pure perfection!

Glitzy, sinister, and jaw-dropping—this book felt like stepping onto a Hollywood stage where every shadow hides a secret, and the spotlight exposes everything.

I was completely swept away by HELLO, JULIET by SAMANTHA M. BAILEY. From the very first page, I was hooked—utterly consumed by Ivy’s story and the world she was forced to return to. The Hollywood setting was intoxicating, with its glossy façade masking so much darkness. It drew me in, just like Ivy, and wouldn’t let go.

One of the things I love most about this author’s writing style is the way little tidbits of information are scattered throughout the narrative in such a subtle way. Each detail feels purposeful, and as the story unfolds, everything comes together in a shocking but brilliantly crafted way that fits the narrative perfectly. It’s the kind of storytelling that keeps you engaged, constantly piecing things together, only to be completely floored by how it all connects in the end.

I couldn’t stop thinking about these characters. I formed such strong feelings for every one of them—some I rooted for, others I couldn’t trust, and a few absolutely broke my heart. They felt so real, so complex, and I found myself completely entranced by their tangled relationships and the betrayals that defined them. Ivy, especially, stole my heart. Her resilience and vulnerability made her someone I rooted for so fiercely, even when the odds felt stacked against her.

The alternating timelines pulled me even deeper into the story. Seeing Ivy’s past unravel alongside the present made the tension almost unbearable—in the best way. And those social media excerpts? They hit hard, adding this sharp, chilling realism that had me glued to every page.

And the twists I’m still not over them. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Bailey threw in another jaw-dropping twist that left me reeling. Each one was so clever, so shocking, and yet they all fit perfectly into this story.

I was totally entranced—not just by the characters, but by the entire world of Hello, Juliet. It’s glitzy, dangerous, and impossible to escape. This is one of those thrillers that will stay with me and be unforgettable, pulling me back into its orbit long after I reached the end. I can't praise this one enough-it was that good and completely mind-blowing!

This was my first Samantha M. Bailey book, and this did NOT disappoint. Thriller fans, you all are in for a TREAT! If I had more time in the last couple of days, I would've devoured this book in a few hours.

Ivy Westcott, a former actress on the hit teen drama, Hello, Juliet, is the subject of hate after a massive, public fallout with her former castmates on the TV show. Dubbed Poison Ivy by former fans, she flees LA to live a life away from the screen, now struggling to make ends meet to care for her ailing mother, who struggles with chronic illness and can't afford to find a specialist for higher care. After a TV exposé paints her in a bad light, she gets an offer to do a top-secret 10th anniversary reunion episode with her former castmates--her found family--and make a little extra money to help her mother get the specialized care she needs. When she and Jesse Rafferty, former castmate and Ivy's ex-boyfriend, show up to the studio to find their castmate, Lauren Malloy,--Ivy's best friend on set--dead, old drama from their Hello, Juliet days resurface as they try to put together the pieces of what happened to Lauren.

The story switches between the past and the present, with the past being Ivy's time on the set of Hello, Juliet in 2014 and the present being the investigation behind Lauren's death ten years later in 2024. I haven't read a thriller in a while that pulled me in like this. There's something about the writing and the story that Samantha Bailey creates to pull you into the world of Hollywood and LA's glitz and glam with celebrities and the lives they live off-screen. You're dropped right into the drama from the very first chapter! The writing pulled me in and kept me engaged the entire way through, all while having a fast-moving plot to keep me turning the pages to find out what happened. Reading about Ivy's life on-screen and off-screen and seeing those lines start to blur between fiction and reality as the fictional storyline of her character on the show became real life was so cool to read.

One thing that I absolutely need a thriller to do is keep me on my toes, and I was not disappointed with how many twists and turns there were to the plot! It felt like every chapter, there was another piece of the puzzle being revealed, and it wasn't even anything I was expecting, which I was super pleased about. This is probably one of the first thrillers in a long while that I've read that was so intricate and kept me guessing until the very last few chapters. Once you think you know what happens and who did it, you're immediately proven wrong! I'm the kind of person who usually has a couple of working theories on what happened by the halfway mark of a thriller, and although I had an inkling that something was fishy the entire time with a certain character who will not be named for the sake of avoiding spoilers, what I didn't expect was how intricate their role was in the story.

The only thing I would take a star off for is that I didn't feel all of the characters got their time in the spotlight, and I wish we got to read more about Ivy's castmates, Lauren, Jesse, and Caleb. The found family trope was present in the story, but it didn't always feel like Ivy was super close to them (besides Lauren). I think it would've been cool to see brief POVs from each of them during their time on set and off-camera. We see Ivy's interactions with them since the entire story is written from her POV, but it would be nice to see things from Lauren, Jesse, and Caleb's POVs. Considering how intricate the plot already is, I can see how adding in other POVs would probably overcomplicate things, but I also feel like the information we learn about the other characters is very surface-level. Like okay, Jesse likes to play the guitar and write music, and Caleb likes to surf in his free time. That's all I could really tell you about the guys.

If you're looking for a fast-paced thriller that keeps you on your toes, this is the thriller for you! I enjoyed reading this and I look forward to seeing what Samantha M. Bailey has in store next.

Yet again Samantha M. Bailey has knocked it out of the park with her newest novel, Hello, Juliet. To be frank, though, I wasn’t all that surprised. After all, Ms. Bailey has always been one of my favorites. This time around, however, the subtle clues managed to evade my eyes until I closed the cover and reevaluated all that I’d learned. Thanks to a complex plot and alternating dual timelines, the truth was unguessable in the extreme. From the first sinister chapter to the happily-ever-after conclusion, all I could do was hold on tight as this suspense-laden tale took on a life of its own. I mean, it had me so enthralled that I 100% couldn’t put it down and so I raced through the pages in only a matter of hours.

As for the characters, their tangled relationships and realistic interactions meant that I had genuine feelings for each of them in turn. From a few I was rooting for from the very start to others who I looked upon with downright suspicion, they all felt undeniably real as both their real life personas and their TV show characters took center stage. It was Ivy, however, who grabbed my attention and didn’t let go. Sensitive yet resilient, she came alive on the page with an authenticity that makes me hope that she’ll make a reprisal in one of Ms. Bailey’s future novels. After all, she kept me invested like few characters have in a stunning tale of gripping intrigue and unbridled deception.

All in all, I was utterly blown away by this psychological thriller. With a riveting mixed media format, tons of twists and turns, and a deliciously unhinged climax that had me flying through the pages, I was utterly floored. It even had a storyline that could rival The OC complete with a definite Laguna Beach vibe. I also can’t forget to mention the jaw-dropping twists or rising unease. Needless to say, I’m not surprised at all that my colleagues and friends at Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse have been raving about this one for ages. Quite possibly Ms. Bailey’s best book so far, it was bingeable, sharp, and an out-and-out masterclass in suspense, which I won’t be forgetting any time soon. Rating of 5 stars.

Hello, plot twists galore. Ivy Westcott was once the up and coming star of 'Hello, Juliet' and part of a powerful acting foursome. They she became "Poison Ivy" and the acting opportunities dried up. Ten years later she is offered a lucrative reunion contract. Will her star once again be on the rise?

Why this one gets all the stars:
🌟The plot kept me on my toes and in the dark for almost the entire book. Is Ivy in danger? Will she overcome the negative social media and press?
🌟Bailey named the network in this story "the CB" and it immediately brings to mind the WB in our TV listing and its plethora of dramas aimed at the YA crowd.
🌟The narrative is peppered with social media, press releases, etc. in the Past (2014) story line. There is also a present timeline with a mystery to solve beginning in the early chapters.
🌟Our "Hello, Juliet" cast finds that the scripts seem to mimic real-life and vice versa. Is there manipulation on the part of the producer?
🌟My GR friend Norma added this to her HSB (Holy Shooty Balls) shelf. I totally agree with her. This is a gripping and engaging read. One of the best I have read from Samantha M. Bailey.

Thank you to Thomas Mercer and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.

My new favourite book from Samantha M Bailey!! Gosh this was good! i wish I had started it when I could have just binged the whole thing, it could very easily be done. I love a Hollywood story, getting behind the scenes is so much fun. And my goodness, the ending was brilliant!! Was absolutely on the wrong track and I loved it.

Without giving too much away, this is the story of a show called Hello, Juliet and its cast. The lead actress, Ivy, was a nobody in Hollywood until she gets this role. Strong friendships formed with the other actors. And now a reunion is on the cards.

I suggest going in knowing very little and you will love it. It Is twisty, it is full of surprises believe me. I formed some quite strong feelings about these characters whilst reading this. Just fantastic!!

All of us at Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse were eagerly awaiting this book and it did not disappoint at all. Publishes on April 29th by Thomas and Mercer. Get it in your TBR.

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book and was immediately drawn in to the story of four friends who starred in the hit TV show, Hello, Juliet ten years ago. Told in dual timelines, Ivy returns to Hollywood for a reunion show in the present, where she becomes a prime suspect in a murder. The past focuses on the relationships between the actors while filming the original show, and the scandals that destroyed Ivy's career. I thought the characters were very authentic, and I was fully invested in all their drama and trauma. Filled with secrets and betrayals, this was an addictive book that was hard to put down, with an ending I couldn't have guessed!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the early release of Hello, Juliet.

This was a twisty popcorn thriller that I enjoyed. The story follows four former television stars from ten years ago. Alternating between past and present find out what happens between the characters on the show and the actors who play them in real life.

A reunion episode is planned for a show that aired ten years ago bringing former stars back on set a decade later. This was very fast paced and I had difficulty putting it down. I did figure out the twist but it kept me guessing if I was correct until the very end.

This book releases in April 2025 I definitely recommend it for your 2025 tbr!

Ivy Westcott has been off the big screen for awhile when she gets her big break in a teen drama called Hello, Juliet. But there’s not just drama onscreen, there’s also loads of offscreen drama with her castmates friendship, romance, and backstabbing with tragic consequences. Now years later, someone wants to film a reunion show, and Ivy needs the money to support herself and her devoted mother. But drama rears its ugly head again when Ivy arrives at the soundstage to find one of her old costars dead, and ends up right in the police’s crosshairs as a suspect.

Between the twists, turns, and teen angst, Samantha M. Bailey has another winner on her hands! The dual timeline structure unfolds the past and present at such a fast pace that I couldn’t put it down. Those short, snappy chapters and their cliffhanger endings had me in their grip and were not letting go! I loved how the snippets of social media posts and the Hollywood gossip articles made this such a juicy read. And then the big twist oh, that twist! Never ever saw that coming! Satisfyingly shocking!

If you’ve ever loved a WB show or you’re a thriller lover who loved Honey by Isabel Banta, this one might be right up your alley! I know my friends at Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse are going to be buzzing about this one!

I love books set in Hollywood and bonus points if they take a look at the dark side of the industry and not only did this one do that, it did it in a very unique and intriguing way. It flips back and forth between present day as Ivy prepares for the TV reunion and the past when she was a budding actress and getting her first break on the set of Hello Juliet. Both timelines were engaging, in the past you’re trying to figure out where it all went wrong and in the present there’s an interesting murder mystery. I think that’s all you should know about the plot but it’s very well executed and the reveals and secrets were pretty damn shocking and surprising. Definitely a solid thriller that I recommend!

I loved this book! The twists were amazing and the unreliable narrators made this story a page turner. I had to find out what was happening. The shocking ending was perfect! The buzz going around from #thepulse is real ya’ll! @thrillerbooklovers.thepulse never lets me down with her book choices! Thank you for letting me read and review this one early! I read this in a day- trust me when I say this is binge worthy!

Fame and fortune playing a teen in a hit tv show, Ivy had a great life! She was friends with the biggest stars and making her mom proud. Little thing begin happening that seem like someone is trying to sabotage her. When a cast mate dies, the show is canceled before they shoot the finale. Years later, Ivy receives an email from the director’s assistant to film a reunion, along with $20k venmo’d to her. She only agrees because her mom has health issues and she can pay for treatment this way. When she gets to set, she finds a dark surprise.

Hello, Juliet takes place in LA, when a has been actress, Ivy, is called back to do a reunion show of her famous series that was canceled 10 years ago.

Filled with secrets, lies and action, this story flew by. I loved the mixed media, with snippets of press releases, social media threads and news stories taking place in both the. past and present.

It's highly dramatic, in perfect soap opera fashion.

NetGalley review: This is my new favorite from Samantha M. Bailey!! I got such nostalgia for some of the old shows I used to watch, especially The OC. I was totally enthralled by the characters and the plot. I kept trying to figure things out and found myself in the completely wrong direction. I suspected everyone except the real killer and was blown away when all was revealed.

4.5 Stars - rounding up!
I had the privilege of diving into an early copy of "Hello, Juliet," and I'm excited for everyone to experience it! This gem doesn't drop until April 29, so save the date! Samantha always writes incredible stuff, but this one might be my favorite!

I absolutely love endings that leave me speechless, and "Hello, Juliet" does precisely that! That ending is a complete shocker. Bailey's storytelling shines in this captivating tale.

👉 Here's why "Hello, Juliet" is a must-read:
- Hollywood glitz, glam, and all the juicy gossip
- The addictive charm that only a teen TV show can deliver
- Plenty of shocking twists and turns
- A captivating dual narrative and timeline

Set against the backdrop of a once-popular teen drama, the story turns dark when Ivy, the main character, arrives at a secret reunion taping only to discover one of her former co-stars dead in her dressing room.

The story bounces between the past and present through Ivy's perspective and media coverage, diving into the gossip, the rise to fame, and the shocking downfall of the show and its stars. What makes it even more compelling is that these characters aren't your typical spoiled teens. They carry heavy loads and have secret struggles their fans don't see, making them relatable.

Samantha has done it again, and I can't wait to see what she conjures up next!

Thanks to the author, Thomas & Mercer/NetGalley for this digital ARC. All thoughts are my own.

Hello, Juliet is a twisty thriller mixing the past with the present, friends and lovers, fame and infamy. I loved the dual timelines and the intimate look behind the scenes on the making of a hit television series. The drama, relationships, gossip, and overall cutthroat nature of the industry was on full display and well executed.

Generally, I liked Ivy's character - she felt relatable and I was rooting for her. There were times I questioned her decisions and also got frustrated by her always feeling like the victim when she finally had achieved the success he had been trying to achieve. But overall, she felt like a normal girl who wanted to make her mom proud and was just too naïve to understand all that could come with being in the spotlight.

It was hard to know who to trust in this novel. Everyone was an actor so I was never certain who was genuine and who was playing a role or manipulating a situation. The red herrings totally threw me and I will admit, I was completely surprised by the outcome of the novel. Many things weren't even on my radar and I loved how completed surprised I ended up being.

Samantha Bailey has been a fan favorite at THE PULSE and there is no doubt that Hello, Juliet will exceed expectations for thriller fans!

Out April 29, 2025, this should be on your most anticipated for 2025!

Without a doubt Samantha M Baileys BEST BOOK YET!!!

This book had me hooked from the beginning, I read this in one day extremely eager to see where the story went.

The plot follows Ivy who gets cast as the lead role in a tv series “Hello Juliet. This is her biggest role yet and her lack of celebrity status and acting experience puts her under a lot of pressure from the director, reviewers and public scrutiny.

The cast on the show soon become fast friends and we follow their lives in past and present tense to see how and where it all went wrong ending with a present day murder mystery.

I loved each cast member and found myself so invested in their lives and well being along with the success of the show. If you grow to love these characters as much as me there is definitely some gut wrenching moments that will come your way.

I am still in shock from the big twist at the end, it’s definitely one that’s hard to process, I wasn’t on board at first however after the follow up chapters i had a change of heart and now I just feel distaste towards certain characters, the author does a great job of making you feel love and hate towards certain people at the right moments.

I am so glad I chose this book it was certainly a memorable read! I definitely recommend everyone to give this a go, especially if you grew up in the era of binge watching amazing tv shows like pretty little liars and vampire diaries etc, it gives you the behind the scenes vibes of how the actors lives may have been in the spotlight at a young age.

Thank you to the author as well as Thomas and Mercer for the EARC!

The past and present collide in this fast-paced domestic thriller Hello, Juliet by Samantha M Bailey.

The past. A group of coworkers and actors were on a popular TV show. The present, a reunion special 10 years in the making. But not everything in the past can be forgotten, panic and anxiety ensue, past rivalries come flooding back.

This was a fun one full of secrets, twists, and social media posts. The action kicks off immediately which lures you into the world of Ivy - or better known as PoisonIvy.

This is a fascinating read that dives into the themes of identity, fame, media scrutiny, and friendships. I mean, we all want to know what the real lives of the people we watch on TV are really like don’t we?

Loved the Acknowledgments, I remember watching soaps when I was younger with my aunt Lisa - more specifically Days of Our Lives. What good memories.

Def will want to preorder this one 👀 I also HIGHLY recommend her previous books if you haven’t read them yet. Loved them so much!

While I normally don’t enjoy plot shifts - this book needed it! And it was quite enjoyable. I enjoyed both the past and the present.

Ivy Westcott, a former teen drama TV star, has been struggling to make ends meet ever since her career ended under a cloud of suspicion. Her mother, always her biggest fan and constant support, is now facing health issues and can't afford treatment.
Determined to help, Ivy accepts a lucrative offer to film a reunion show for the popular series that abruptly ended years ago after the loss of a cast member.
Having lost touch with her former co-stars, Ivy is unsure of what to expect when she arrives at the studio. But when one of her ex-castmates is found dead, buried secrets from the past begin to surface-secrets that make no sense.
I had my predictions early on, but the twists kept me guessing throughout! I thoroughly enjoyed the unraveling of the scandalous past, skillfully woven into the present-day drama through the dual timeline narrative.
Ivy's character and her resolve to uncover the truth were truly admirable. This was an addictive thriller with a spectacular ending!

Well, she’s done it again! Since I read Woman on the Edge in 2020, Samantha Bailey has been an auto-read author for me. So as a member of Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse, I jumped at the chance to read her latest novel.

With Hello, Juliet, the author has once again written a great domestic psychological thriller, this time set in Hollywood, about the cast of a teen TV drama show, called Hello, Juliet. The novel is set in 2014, when the show was launched, and in 2024 when a costar ends up dead on a soundstage just as a reunion show of the cast is planned.

The novel is written from both the point of view of the likeable main character, Ivy, a young actress, and interspersed with social media posts and gossip/tabloid articles. The story looks at the price of fame and living in the Hollywood limelight, including the toll it takes on relationships and self-worth.

The story unfolds at a steady pace, there are secrets and lies, a great twist near the end which I didn’t see coming and a satisfying epilogue.

I inhaled this book in a day as I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend!

Thanks to the publisher for this complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Reading this I felt like I was transported back to the early 2000s following the actors of my favorite over acted teen drama. I was immediately sucked into Ivy's world of petty scandal and harsh critics, and I loved the dual timelines of young Ivy in the spotlight vs the current struggling Ivy of today after Hollywood spit her out. As the murders of the present day came to light, I found myself trying to piece together the truth with Ivy, but that ending reveal had me shocked in the best way possible. All those years and it was there in plain sight all along, terrifying.

Highly recommend this read! I read an ARC on NetGalley, but it comes out April 2025!

For some reason, this is my first Bailey book. Now I get the hype! This was as addictive as chocolate! I flew through it! Anything with fame/celebrities always gets me hooked. When this started off, I thought I knew where it was going, and I thought it was pretty *predictable* but I was SO wrong, and I loved it. Booksta peeps don’t usually steer me wrong, and I knew that this was going to be wild. It was darker than I expected, which was a surprise. Now I better bump up those Bailey books I have on my shelf because I need more ASAP!

4.5 rounded up***

I feel like I just got off of a Hollywood themed rollercoaster! This one was a wild ride that was full of unexpected turns. When I had to take a break from reading because you know, life, I found myself thinking about this book and looking forward to when I had time to read some more. Hello, Juliet was full of unexpected and interesting characters!

I didn’t like the main character Ivy and that made it tough to like the story. I did enjoy the mix of past and present timelines and the narrator did a good job.

I could NOT put this down. Narrated by Ivy (both past and present), and it also includes articles and posts (I love mixed media). I did not have this figured out by the end. It was a pretty good twist in my opinion. Fast paced and super enjoyable. I promise this is worth your time.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book. This will be out in April of 2025.
