Magical Mystery Book Club #7

Sprites and Scuttlebutt

Rate this book
This book club is hooked on traveling into books to become the amateur sleuths! In this journey, the club travels to the Kingdom of Everglow.

The royal family is rocked to the core when a key staff member falls dead at a community event. In the turmoil that follows, any evidence of what happened is destroyed, so they must go by the recollection of witnesses who were too busy enjoying the celebration to offer any valuable testimony.

The royal family is further distressed when they return to the castle to see signs of a break in that somehow defied their complex security system. They wake the next day to discover that one member of the royal family has fallen into a deep, deathlike sleep.

Can the Snapdragon Inn Book Club uncover the plot behind this attack on the royal family? Can they find the antidote to wake the sleeping royal from a supernatural slumber? Can they bring peace back to the worried royal family and the frightened community?

Let’s hope they can, since they must solve the mystery and reach The End to get out of the book and back to their home in Colorado.

I love this series. It is unique with a story within a story. This book is no different than the previous five in regards to the basic principle of the story, but it is unique with the crime, the banter, and the setting of the mystery they are to solve.

The whole gang is together again. This time, they venture into a fantasy world filled with Sprites. I really liked the descriptions of these characters, their personalities, and how they were no different from humans. There are some quirky characters and a killer among them. It was fun to try and figure out who the killer might be since there are not a lot of clues, but there are a few if you know how to look for them.

We also learn more about Frank's past and how he came to be a part of this magical library. His past becomes advantageous to the group in this new world. You will have to read the book to learn more about that, but it is revealed fairly quickly in the book.

I also liked how the characters spoke about the author and how authors may make mistakes in their books. I had a good chuckle from some of the conversations.

There are quite a few witty lines sprinkled throughout, so I had a good chuckle as well.

This has become a favorite series, and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

We give this book 5 paws up.

It’s time of another Magical Book Club Meeting. This time the mystery and adventure involves royalty. A member of the staff is murdered and the group joins in the investigation with the castle security to find out who the murderer is.

This is a fun series to read. As a cozy mystery love I would love to be a part of the book club. I mean who wouldn’t want to go into their favorite books and help solve a mystery. The characters are a unique group of varied ages and personalities. They are relatable and have great chemistry. The mystery is intriguing with plenty of twists and turns.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, I have not been influenced by anyone.

Sprites and Scuttlebutt is book six in Elizabeth Pantley’s Magical Mystery Book Club yet it’s the first one I have read (so I can attest that it can easily be read as a standalone). I am so glad to be introduced to this delightful paranormal cozy mystery series–it is a great escape and perfect for readers who love books about books.

The series features a magical cozy mystery book club and when the group chooses a book, they are transported into the book and the mystery comes to life! (This reminds me so much of the Pages & Co. middle grade series by Anna James but for adults!) In this journey, the club travels to the Kingdom of Everglow. Everglow is a fairyland location with colorful sprites. The community of sprites don’t blink an eye at the book club and especially welcome the club’s talking cat Frank. Here readers learn about Frank’s past, which covers hundreds of years, including being a king, with an evil sorcerer changing him into a cat.

Not long after the club’s arrival, a key member of the royal sprite staff falls dead at a community event. The trouble doesn’t stop as the next day there is evidence of a breakin at the castle and one of the princess sprites has fallen in a deep sleep and can’t be roused.

Yes, readers need to suspend disbelief as they dive into this story, but isn’t that the best part of reading? To escape with the book club into a fairyland full of beautiful sights and delicious fruits grown only in this land was a welcome treat. The characters are entertaining and often humorous and each so unique. I enjoyed the comments the book club members made about cozy mysteries and the tropes found inside. While I can’t speak for the rest of the series, I would be comfortable handing this mystery to an older middle grade reader who wants the taste of a more grown-up mystery but needs one without adult themes.

Readers who enjoy a story within a story and who are looking for a break from reality should enjoy this title!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Sprites and Scuttlebutt by Elizabeth Pantley has the book club entering a book about sprites.

Will the Book Club stop the culprit?

The Book Club
Paige, Glo, Sebastian, Zell, Frankie, Mollie, Valeria, Moonbeam, and Forrest are going to have to rely on their information-gathering skills. The book club has to not get distracted by the colorful scenery of the story and everything else to be able to solve the mystery. Besides that, I love how, with each new installment, each member of the book club gets character development. I also love how they help Valeria embrace the role of being an amateur sleuth with them and help her discover what not to do. Zell and Frankie just keep getting more hilarious with each new installment. Mollie is getting a bit better about embracing the fact that she won't always be seen by the book inhabitants.

Overall I love this gang and I can't wait to jump back in with another installment.

The Mystery
The Book Club enters the book and is having fun at the festival when one of the royal staff members gets killed, and then the very next day, they find out that one of the royal family members got put into a deathlike sleep. They are determined to find out who did this and bring them to justice.

I must say, wow. Ms. Pantley had me going there on everything. I didn't catch anything about what was going on within the royal family.

Five Stars
I am giving a five-star rating to Sprites and Scuttlebutt by Elizabeth Pantley and a recommendation to any cozy paranormal mystery readers. Ms. Pantley sure knows how to weave a great story that will keep you guessing. I'm only saying that because she did with me and had me feeling like I was one of the book club members getting to go on an adventure with the rest of them to solve another mystery.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Sprites and Scuttlebuttby Elizabeth Pantley.

Until the next time,

Karen Signature

Happy Reading!

If your a cat lover, you will love this latest edition into the Magical Mystery Book Club.

I’ve definitely adapted to the AI voice, and it didn’t distract me from the story at all as I listened to the audiobook.

The story is full of loveable characters, a whimsical plot, and an unexpected King that the author smoothly wraps around you like a warm blanket. The opening reveals a surprising plot twist. So smart of the author to keep Mollie as a ghost since she can literally be the “fly on the wall for the book club group. The ending was a clever twist, and truly worked with the story of the book.

My review is voluntary and all comments and opinions are my own.

The Magical Mystery Book Club is off on another exciting cozy mystery book adventure! Haven't read this series? Don't worry! You'll catch on quickly though I do recommend you read the others first. I think that so far, this book is the easiest to read as a standalone though you will find out something that loyal readers have been waiting for the whole series!

This club, made up of an eclectic mix of characters, travels into cozy mystery books by means of magic! In this case, the club travels into a land occupied by sprites. They get entangled in a murder and attempted murder mystery that takes lots of twists and turns. I've enjoyed getting to know the characters throughout reading the series. The sprites in the cozy mystery are well-written and include a good mix of characters.

I think you'll enjoy this fun cozy mystery club, the book that they travel into, and solving the mystery with the club! I definitely recommend it.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Sprites & Scuttlebutt by Elizabeth Pantley is the 6th book in another enchanting and fun Magical Mystery Book Club series. Refresher: Paige and Glo, inherited the grandmother’s country inn, which comes with a magical library. The magical library consists of 8 members, who choose a book, and they are transported into the story, with cozy mysteries that they have to solve. This is a fun, enjoyable, lighthearted series, with wonderful characters and a magical cozy mystery.

The surprise beginning has us discovering that there is more to our wonderful talking cat, Frank. We learn everything about Frank’s past, which covers hundreds of years, including being a king, with an evil sorcerer changing him into a cat. Of course, now, Frank is a very content enjoying the mystery trips that are part of the mystery book club.

The Snapdragon club members pick a book and they are whisked away into the Kingdom of Everglow, which is comes across as a fairyland location, with sprites. Upon arrival, they see a key member of the staff being killed during a celebration, shocking the royal family. The Royal family welcomes the group, to help solve the murder, with them treated like royalty; especially king Frank, who is considered and treated like royalty. Lots of fun with this.

The next day, everyone is shocked that one of the princesses is in a deep sleep, and no one can wake her. The Snapdragon members are assigned to try and discover who did this to the Princess, as well as solving the murder of the staff member. The crew will need to interview people within the community, who may have clues to both incidents. A garden party gathering with most people in the community, enables them to find information as they mingle, eavesdrop, question and observe those attending. Can the Snapdragon Inn Book Club uncover the plot behind this attack on the royal family, as well as find the antidote to wake the princess?

What follows is a fun story that has all the members trying to find clues, as well as suspects. I really enjoy this series, as it is so very entertaining. All the characters in the Magical Mystery Book Club are very good, with Paige leading the way. I loved most of the characters, especially Frank, my favorite. I also like Mollie, the resident ghost, who in Everglow is unseen, and she secretly discovers some clues.

Sprites & Scuttlebutt was another terrific, enchanting and fun magical addition to this series, with wonderful characters. There were a few surprises, especially learning all about our hero, Frank. Sprites & Scuttlebutt was a wonderful lighthearted fun magical mystery, which was very well written by Elizabeth Pantley. I look forward to the next book.

When you have a favorite author and/or series, you cannot wait for the latest book to be released ... you may even do a countdown of days until it will be in your hands. That is something I do with the Magical Mystery Book Club series by Elizabeth Pantley. I am sure that I am not the only one either !!

Sprites and Scuttlebutt is the sixth book in the series and it lives up to the hype of this series. In the Magical Mystery Book Club series Paige and her select members of the magical book club get together every so often and have a "magical" meeting. They grab snacks and venture down to the library in the basement of the Snapdragon Inn and scatter and pick out a book for their next jounrey. Once they have picked out and agreed upon the book, one of the members starts reading the book out loud. After a few minutes the room gets foggy, the globe in the library starts spinning ... when the room clears and settles down, the group finds themselves characters in the book and have to solve the case and write "The End" on the whiteboard in order to return to the original Snapdragon Inn in Colorado.

Luckily for the group the Inn always travels with them and is filled with whatever they need to make their time there as comfortable as possible and with Sprites and Scuttlebutt, the sixth book, they will need to have some normalcy and calm.

In Sprites and Scuttlebutt right before the group picks their journey book, they uncover a huge secret .... Frank the Inn's feline resident was a King in a previous life but a spell was cast upon him turning him into a talking cat. This will help the group as they will be traveling to Everglow and solving a murder within the Royal Kingdom.

Once the fog settles they find themselves in a very colorful area that is full of sprites who are mythical fairy like creatures with coloful hair and small wings. At an outdoor concert someone from the Royal family, the Queen's advisor, is killed. Then one of the Queen's daughter becomes ill !!! Luckily for the book club members the Snapdragon Inn has become a suite in the castle allowing them complete access to the castle and all the people that could possibly be involved in the crimes.....

I could go on and on and on about this series and everything in the books but I think this is a good spot to stop and encourage you to go grab your copy, if you are caught up in the series or go grab all the books, so that you can get lost and enjoy everything that Pantley shares. The Magical Mystery Book Club series is guaranteed to become one of your favorites !!! Mark my words !!!

Happily whisked into this kingdom of Everglow was enough to take my breath away. Elizabeth Pantley creates with words descriptions so incredible and unique that you do feel the three-dimensional world is standing right around you. With the book club arriving in a fairyland type location to help a royal family, I was blown away quite enough! However, very soon into the book we find out something super exciting about Frank, the longtime book club member, who is a kitty but wait, there’s more! Despite many queries, Frank has never before revealed much of his past Until now! Be prepared to be astonished!
Nearly immediately upon their arrival, as they were realizing what beings lived in Everglow, and watched an incredible concert, only to see this particular murder that they will be investigating happen pretty much right in front of their eyes, rather than coming upon a dead body as often happens.
The entire book club is welcomed into the Royal familiy’s home and treated like royalty themselves, and are also asked to assist in discovering who the murderer was, as well as who may have caused one of the princesses to fall into a deep sleep, from which they could not wake her.
The group goes on to talk with many of the community members, coming up mostly dry at first, not really finding much in the way of a possible suspect. They need to come up with ways to discreetly question a list of community members that was given to them by the family’s team. Still, no firm suspect. Well into the story and close to the end of the book, we are left still wondering about the who-done-it part of this adventure.
There is a garden party gathering of almost everyone in the community, where they are able to mingle, celebrate, and also discover any information by eavesdropping, gossip, questioning, and observing to see if there can be something they notice, or the murderer showing their true colors at this celebration.
The sudden arrival of an unknown (or is she?) party crasher was when things finally start being revealed, and you will not be expecting what happens next!
Elizabeth Pantley’s amazing story weaving, in describing the location and creating the characters so completely and realistically, made me feel that I was there next to them, even a member maybe of the book club!!!
So many interesting details, and some secrets are provided and revealed in Sprites and Scuttlebutt that I was left a bit, swept off my feet taking it all in.
Don’t miss it! READ this BOOK!!

SPRITES AND SCUTTLEBUTT by Elizabeth Pantley
The Sixth Magical Mystery Book Club Mystery

The Magical Mystery Book Club has started another book journey, this time going to the Kingdom of Everglow . This fairy tale land is a multi-hued place where everything in nature is enhanced, from the green sky and pink clouds to the houses that appear to grow out of trees. Everglow is inhabited by sprites, dazzling beings with vibrant hair and delicate wings. A concert is just beginning as the gang arrives, but the beautiful music is cut short when a hulking sprite falls to the ground, dead. Frank's surprising revelation gets the Book Club members invited to stay at the castle where they offer to help solve the murder. Things get complicated when they witness a break-in and one of the princesses falls under what appears to be a sleeping spell. The Magical Mystery Book Club team will have their work cut out for them as they interview sprites both inside and outside of the palace in order to unravel the mystery.

Opening the pages of a book will take you on a journey, and for members of the Magical Mystery Book Club, doing so literally takes them places. It's a book lovers dream come true and it's fun tagging along with this silly and loving group of friends. There's also a bit of a moral to be found in the sixth Magical Mystery Book Club Mystery; things may look completely different, but there are more similarities between beings and worlds than differences.

SPRITES AND SCUTTLEBUTT is a dreamy, more relaxing trip for the crew. Although they are faced with a murder early on, their investigation is more meandering. While they always take time to enjoy their surroundings as they try to solve the mystery, this time they seem less invested in bringing a killer to justice. They are truly unsure of who the murderer is and they really don't even solve the crimes...they are merely witness to the resolution.

I was thrilled to learn Frank's history...and laughed as Zell tried in vain to keep his secret. I appreciate his desire to hide this aspect of himself, though loved his taking advantage of his past in this tale. I am also enamored with the author's imagination, painting a world with green sky and pink clouds, wacky characters, and splatberry juice. It's uniquely different, yet with it's family of characters, it still has the comforting feeling of home.

SPRITES AND SCUTTLEBUTT is a magical story about relationships, envy, and partaking in a snack whenever possible!

Fun and unique adventure for the cozy mystery book club sleuths when they find themselves in the Sprite Kingdom of Everglow.

I was so glad to see that there was a new addition to author Elizabeth Pantley’s paranormal cozy mystery series featuring the Magical Mystery Book Club. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of the previous books, and I was not disappointed in the least. Sprites and Scuttlebutt is the sixth adventure for the book club members, and they are faced with not only a murder but a mysterious sleeping disorder that has affected a member of the Queen’s household.

While told from the club leader Paige Erickson’s point of view, the stories are always an ensemble story, and this book maintains this excellent style. However, this time around, Frank, the enigmatic and oft-times sarcastic library cat, takes on a featured role, and readers are finally let in on some of the details of his mysterious past.

The Everglow setting is vivid, colorful, and populated by paranormal creatures, sprites, with a ruling family led by the split personalitied Queen Iris. The author’s rich and detailed descriptions of the sprites and their world made this setting come alive.

The mystery involves both a murder and a sudden affliction that makes a member of the Queen’s family fall asleep and unable to be awakened, and the book club members must struggle with whether these two things are related or separate. There are many suspects with possible motives or access to the means to have committed these deeds, so there are lots of red herrings for the characters and armchair sleuths to consider. The clues are present to point the way to the final resolution if one is paying attention.

The book club members remained much more aware of their chosen book’s author’s role in crafting their adventure in this story. There were discussions of the different routes an author can take in developing their plot, including cozy mystery tropes and common story structure, which I found quite enlightening. I enjoyed this latest adventure and continue to look forward to more.

I recommend SPRITES AND SCUTTLEBUTT to cozy mystery readers who enjoy a touch of paranormal in their stories and fans of the previous books in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving an Advanced Review Copy from the author through Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours.

The Magical Mystery Book Club is back with their 6th literary adventure. This book club is a bit different than most. The members choose a cozy mystery book and then become part of the story. They cannot return home until they solve the mystery. This time they choose “A Murder in the Royal Kingdom of Everglow. The crew travels to the peaceful Kingdom of Everglow where they meet sprites as well as the royal family. It’s all very beautiful, until tragedy strikes.

The Queen’s Head Advisor, Cypress, is murdered. Her daughter is given a drug to make her sleep and no one can arouse her. The royal family and the citizens of Everglow are devastated. However, the book club is on the case. No one is above suspicion as they investigate the crimes and meet some very interesting characters along the way.

The series is easily on top of my list of cozy mysteries. Each book is better than the last. I’m always looking forward to a fun trip with the Magical Mystery Book Club. This time we even get more background information on Frank, the talking cat.

This book oozes with charm as the author transports the reader right into a cozy fairy tale. I immediately felt as if I was there. It’s a nice, comfortable feeling to be back with this group and feel as if I’m actually part of it.

There are many different aspects in this book. It’s a paranormal paradise complete with a royal family and sprites. The mystery is intriguing. I kept changing my mind who the killer would be and I, of course, chose wrong. The ending completely took me by surprise and was perfect.

I’m so looking forward to the next great journey of the Magical Mystery Book Club.

Sprites and Scuttlebutt" by Elizabeth Pantley takes readers on another enchanting adventure with the Snapdragon Inn Book Club as they travel into the Kingdom of Everglow. In this whimsical journey, the book club becomes amateur sleuths investigating a murder and a mysterious ailment affecting the royal family.

As the Snapdragon Inn Book Club delves into the investigation, they navigate the magical world of Everglow, encountering Sprites and uncovering secrets. The mystery takes unexpected turns, and the Snapdragon crew must use their wits to unravel the plot and bring peace to the troubled royal family.

The book has lovable characters, a whimsical plot, and unexpected twists. The author's skillful storytelling creates a warm and immersive experience for readers. The opening reveals a surprising plot twist, and the presence of Mollie as a ghost adds a unique perspective to the story.

I especially enjoy the insider comments about small details in the story. An example: At one point, ghostly Mollie wanders further than her 15-foot “tether. How did this happen? The author got caught up in the story and forgot about the tether. And that is said in the story.

Overall, I enjoyed the enchanting and imaginative qualities of "Sprites and Scuttlebutt." The setting was magical, the characters well-developed, and the mysteries engaging. I continue to enjoy this series with the unique concept of a book club traveling into books. The release of a new book in the series is always exciting.

I received an advance copy of the book. All opinions expressed here are my own.

This is the 6th book in the Magical Mystery Book Club series that will grab you from the first page. The premise of the series in each of the books in this series is totally unique. The book club goes to their special library to find a book. The unique part is that they end up in the story of each of the books they read and have to solve murders. In this book, Paige and the magical book club and the talking cat, Frank find themselves in a kingdom of Everglow and at a concert one of the Queen's advisors is killed. As guests of the Royals they are treated like royalty and are asked to help find who murdered the Queen's advisor and put one of the princesses into a deep sleep. With Paige and the gang, we are taken on a roller coaster ride, having a hard time trying to find a good suspect. We are also treated to some of Frank's actual background although we know he was a king at some point before he was turned into a cat. You are taken along to the end and treated to a surprise ending. This is a great series. I can't wait to see what story they will get into next. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Sprites and Scuttlebutt is book six in the brilliant Magical Mystery Book Club series, and this book sees the Snapdragon Inn and its book club members transported into a fantasy world filled with Sprites - of every colourful combination imaginable. I loved the descriptions of each sprite we encounter form their hair to their wings, and the book club members were also fascinated by it too!

They find themselves in the Kingdom of Everglow, and when they arrive see a key member of the Royal family task force killed! Tasked with solving the murder our group of eclectic characters along with the Frank the cat- who we learn is actually a King, set about interviewing members of the Royal Family and other members of staff and soon another blow hits the Kingdom - one of the princesses has been put into a deep sleep (think sleeping beauty kinda sleep) and now not only do they have murder to solve but now this attack on the princess.

Can the two events be connected and how will the book club find whodunnit intime to get home safely? With Mollie the clubs resident ghost, she is the key to finding the answers!

Yet another great book in this series!

The book club gang is back. In Sprites and Scuttlebutt we learn more about Frank's past. And luckily for the club his past fits right in with the new mystery they have to solve. This series is such fun. Every book lover's dream is to be literally in the story, and the book club gets to do just that. Part of what makes these books so much fun it that while they are all cozy mysteries but the characters cover all the sub-genres. You never know what book you are going to jump into with the club. All the book club members each bring something to each story and are such a wide and varied group. From Zell to Frank everyone has something to contribute and everyone is family. The twists in Sprites and Scuttlebutt will have you looking in all the wrong places. I didn't see the ending coming. Solving one murder and a poisoning and a crime the club didn't even know had been committed until the end will have you laughing out loud. I am always excited when a new book in the series comes out and I am already waiting for the next one!

"Sprites and Scuttlebutt (Magical Mystery Book Club #6) by Elizabeth Pantley is a fantasy paranormal cozy mystery with vivid character and location descriptions that really help you visualize it all. The book club gets whisked to a modern yet very pixie forest with vibrant colored treehouses and brightly colored flora. Even the sky is colorful.

While there, the book club has to help solve the death of the queen's advisor and who put one of the princesses into a magical slumber. I really didn't have any decent ideas of who the culprit was until nearly the reveal when I started thinking about a couple of comments made by a couple of the suspects/characters. That got me thinking that, if they were thinking those thoughts about someone else then maybe they were doing the same thing. Kinda like how cheaters always think someone is cheating on them because they themselves are doing it. But, this time it's in relation to committing certain other crimes.

This is the sixth book in this series; I believe I’ve read all of the other books in this delightful series now, but this book stands alone well. This series has one of the most unique set-ups ever—that of a magical traveling cozy mystery book club and library. The author manages to make each book setting distinct, as the book club members “travel into a book, and this book and the descriptions in a world of sprites are incredibly beautiful and creative. The story and mystery are excellent; the main characters are getting more well fleshed out in each book. I think this book is my favorite in the series due to the gorgeous and incredible descriptions, like having a green sky and pink clouds. Maybe I’m just attracted to all of the exceptional colors, but this book was an utter delight to read.

This is such an unusual and delightful cozy mystery series! In each book, the members of a book club are literally transported into their chosen book's setting, and have to solve a mystery before they can return home. I've been reading it in order, but I think each story is completely self-contained and works fine as a standalone.

This time around, the book club members literally dive into a fantasy kingdom in which a royal staff member is found dead at a public event! There are plenty of twists and turns as the group tries to help solve the murder, which the club members must do in order to return home. There's a lot of clues to follow as the group tries to resolve the case. I enjoyed the mystery; while I was able to figure out parts of it, the final reveal still held some surprises!

I can't wait for the next book!

In the latest installment of the Magical Mystery Book Club.
The crew is headed into another story.
We finally learn of Frank's background,
and it's a doozy.
We head to the Kingdom of Everglow that is ruled and inhabited by Sprites.
On the first day there, there's an advisor t0 the Royal Household that is murdered.
Frank takes a leading role in this one and is asked to help look into members working at the castle as possible suspects.
Mollie doesn't have an active role as the Sprite's can't see her. But, she still has lots of impact in the investigation. And she also learns of an activity that gives her a little more leeway in moving away from the rest of the group than normal rules would apply to her.

There were developed characters and a bit of mischievousness among the group.

Another wonderful story in the Magical Mystery Book Club!
This story allowed us to learn more about Frank in his prior lives. Here we get to go back to a time when Frank the cat was way more than anyone could have guessed. And this did help to open doors for the group as they entered this new land and mystery.
Once again the group follows the clues to help solve the mystery. But this time they really don't solve the mystery so much as check names off their suspect list.
It was still a great stand-alone story in the series. And I for one can't wait for the next book to come out to see what adventure we get to take with the group.

I have read several of the stories in this series and I just love the quirky characters. Since they go to different places each time, it makes the stories interesting. It is a good mystery too. The club picks a book that is set in the Kingdom of Everglow where the sprites live. It is a very colorful world, but there is also treachery. When the queen's top advisor is killed in front of a group of people, it is up to the club to find the killer. We also get Frank's background. He is usually closed mouthed about his past, but he seems pretty open in this story. There are way too many suspects and a twist at the end.

Bravo! Another wonderful book. Elizabeth Pantley has outdone herself, again, with Sprites & Scuttlebutt. Her descriptions on the characters and the scenery are literally gorgeous. I wish I were right there in the book along with the book club. I cannot recommend it enough. Read this book. You'll be glad you did, even if you haven't read her previous ones in this series. She explains enough so you won't be lost. However, I must warn you. After you read Sprites & Scuttlebutt you'll want to read the other books in her series. I was given a free copy for my honest review.

This book is about a wonderful cast of eclectic characters who have formed a special book club together where they can read the first chapter of a cozy mystery and literally be transported into the story where they become characters in the book and help solve the mystery before reaching The End and then transport back to their library. In this story, they are solving a murder mystery in the royal kingdom of Everglow. This was a fun, creative way to enjoy a highly entertaining cozy mystery and I look forward to the next book in this Magical Mystery Book Club series!

I recently finished reading "Hexes and Hooligans," the previous book in the series, and I adored the story. The sequel, "Sprites and Scuttlebutt," continues the adventures of the magical book club as they travel into different books to solve mysteries. In this book, the club members discover Frank's backstory, which helps them unravel a plot against the Royal Family in the Kingdom of Everglow. The author's talent in creating a world of adventure, fun, friendship, and mystery has left me eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series, "Meditation and Mischief."

The author gave me a copy of the book, but I was not compensated for my review.

Dealing with this group is akin to taking preschoolers on an outing, so landing in a Technicolor fairytale land populated with sprites is an invitation to shenanigans! This is a fun read that highlights their love for one another in the midst of the banter, and the backstory on Frank and the library is appreciated; however, Paige and friends do not actually solve the mystery. There's an info dump at the end that reveals several surprises and unexpected motivations. This series is still a charming reading experience, though.

Sprites and Scuttlebutt is a magical journey to a royal kingdom. I love this series and these characters who “journey into a book and help solve a mystery. They are well rounded and gain wisdom as the stories progress. As always with these mysteries there are red herrings and twists that keep me hooked and leave me guessing about the perpetrator! I am always sad when I reach the end and have to wait for the next book. If you enjoy magical, cozy mysteries, come join this unusual book club!

In this book, I finally got the answers to the main questions I have had all along. We got to hear the back story of Frank the cat. It was definitely worth the wait. The characters have come a long way since book one. Some characters had new stories written for them. New characters have been added. It was great to get to do some sleuthing right along with the book club. I cannot wait to see what is next for the club.

Je nay say la-de-dah

The magical book club is off on an enlightening journey to the Disney-esque kingdom of Everglow in this spellbinding sixth book in the series. Enchanted by the inhabitants of this colorful setting (and their amazing food, of course), they not only have an intriguing mystery or two to unravel, but are surprised to find out that they’ve been in the presence of royalty all along! This is a can’t miss chapter in an amazing series!
